Ed Roland, front man for multi-platinum rock band Collective Soul, will perform the national anthem at the March 5 Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway with his band, Ed Roland & the Sweet Tea Project. Roland joins several other members of a star-studded lineup of celebrities with close Georgia ties making up the Celebrity Host Committee, which will help welcome fans to the weekend at AMS.

Chip Wile, the youngest President of Daytona International Speedway, was recognized today as a recipient of SportsBusiness Journal’s (SBJ) Forty Under 40 honor. Chosen from among an initial candidate list of more than 500, Wile will receive the award on April 20 at the Forty Under 40 Gala at the Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, CA. Forty Under 40 recognizes excellence and innovation among young sports executives nationwide.

Seven-time Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Champion Jimmie Johnson took Governor Doug Ducey on a ride along in the No. 48 on Thursday, Feb. 16. The ride around the State Capitol in Downtown Phoenix ended with a ceremonial burnout followed by a proclamation from the Governor to celebrate “Jimmie Johnson Day” throughout the State of Arizona.

NASCAR announced earlier this year that new competition enhancements will break races into three stages with a pre-determined number of laps in each stage. Richmond International Raceway (RIR) revealed its stage lengths and spring race start times today.

Texas Motor Speedway announced Thursday the stage lengths for the six NASCAR national series races that will be held at the world-renowned motorsports facility this season.

Dawsonville, Georgia native and 2016 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Rookie of the Year, Chase Elliott, will have two chances to score his first NASCAR national touring series win at his home track, Atlanta Motor Speedway, as he pulls double-duty in races both Saturday and Sunday, March 4 and 5, 2017.

Fans will roar and the red, white and blue will wave before the green flag on May 28 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Iconic rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd will salute America with the ultimate Memorial Day Weekend mix of rock and racing in front of a captivated audience in the Coca-Cola 600 Concert presented by Speed Perks.

The GEICO Restart Zone will be unveiled during Speedweeks’ 2017 list of events and the 59th annual DAYTONA 500, which will also serve as the season-opening event to the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.

Longtime partners, Sport Clips Haircuts and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. (VFW) will once again return to sponsor the Sport Clips Haircuts VFW 200 NASCAR XFINITY Series event at Darlington Raceway, extending their entitlement sponsorship through the 2020 race season.

The wait is almost over to get in on all the action at Michigan International Speedway in 2017. Tickets and camping go on sale on February 16 for both Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series weekends at NASCAR’s fastest track.
