GMS Racing announced today that Tyler Dippel has joined the team for the final four races of the 2018 season. Beginning with the October 27th race at Martinsville Speedway, Dippel will drive the No. 25 Chevrolet Silverado with leadership from veteran crew chief Jerry Baxter.

Due to unforeseen issues with additional sponsorship needed, Cody Coughlin will no longer drive the No. 2 Chevrolet for GMS Racing. We are grateful for the relationship we made with Cody and the Coughlin family. We wish them the best in their future endeavors. NASCAR today announced that Steve Phelps has been named NASCAR President, effective October 1, 2018. Brent Dewar has elected to step down and will remain with the company through the end of the 2018 racing season, transitioning to a senior consulting and advisory role in 2019.

Petty's Garage and Richard Petty Motorsports announced today it will auction off a Warrior Edition Ford F-150 truck to benefit longtime Petty partner, Paralyzed Veterans of America. World renowned car auction house, Barrett-Jackson, will auction the truck on Thursday, September 27 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After heading to the west coast this weekend for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) World of Westgate 200 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS), Cody Coughlin was ready to duplicate his success from his spring trip to LVMS earlier this season.

With the playoffs, this first round I think you’ll have butterflies because it’s so tricky. You have the road course and Talladega, so very diverse and unique tracks. Anything can really happen. You want to put yourself in the best situation as possible and make the most of the opportunities.”

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will be in action at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The Monster Energy Series begins its first round of playoffs, while the Camping World Truck Series has its second race of the Round of 8 and the Xfinity Series sets its playoff field.
