Leaving Alabama for Detroit in 1937 during the Great Migration, Edwards immediately entered the grueling forge and foundry plants of Chrysler and later the Ford Lincoln plant (Local 900). Facing systemic Jim Crow-era discrimination inside the factories, he dedicated his life to organizing and protecting workers. In 1962, Edwards made history as the first African American elected to the UAW’s International Executive Board, and in 1970, he shattered the ultimate labor ceiling by becoming the first Black Vice President of the UAW. Edwards fundamentally changed what it meant to be an American industrial worker. He championed the legendary “25 and Out” pension plan, which allowed foundry and forge workers—who faced toxic dust and extreme heat—to retire with full benefits after 25 years. He also secured company-funded medical exams and standardized paid time off. Beyond the shop floor, UAW President Walter Reuther sent Edwards directly to Birmingham in 1963 to stand alongside Dr. King in the Civil Rights fight, and Edwards later co-founded the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (CBTU). Edwards is inducted posthumously for establishing the very human foundation upon which American automotive prosperity was built.

3. Dystany Spurlock

  • Category: Motorsports
  • Title: Record-Breaking Drag Racer & Historic NASCAR Pioneer
  • Bio: Dystany Spurlock is actively rewriting the history books across multiple racing disciplines, demonstrating a remarkable level of versatility in modern motorsports. She initially established her legacy on two wheels, showcasing elite precision on the drag strip to set multiple world records in motorcycle drag racing. Building on those achievements, Spurlock made history in 2025 by becoming only the second Black woman to compete in the prestigious NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle class. In 2026, Spurlock transitioned into four-wheel stock car racing, demonstrating an impressive adaptability across distinct motorsport formats. She broke monumental ground by becoming the first Black woman to compete on the ARCA Menards Series platform. Continuing her rapid ascent, she reached the national touring level by becoming the first Black woman to qualify and race in a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event. While Spurlock continues to write her story, she has shattered one of the final remaining “firsts” in American motorsports history, cementing her place as a historic pioneer for the next generation of drivers.

4. Aicha Evans

  • Category: Technology
  • Title: CEO of Zoox & Pioneer in Self-Driving Mobility
  • Bio: Aicha Evans perfectly embodies the reality that tech is the new horsepower. Before entering the automotive landscape, Evans spent over a decade as a powerhouse executive at Intel, rising to Chief Strategy Officer and managing global wireless technologies like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 5G. In 2019, she made a historic transition to the automotive sector as the CEO of Zoox (later acquired by Amazon), becoming the first African American woman to lead an autonomous vehicle company. Crucially, Evans is not just developing software; she is running a full-scale automotive OEM. Under her leadership, Zoox designed, engineered, and manufactured a brand-new, ground-up, highway-capable electric vehicle. This symmetrical robotaxi features no steering wheel or pedals, builds in four-wheel steering, and has been rigorously crash-tested to meet federal automotive safety standards. Evans is being inducted for bridging Silicon Valley innovation with automotive manufacturing, proving that the future of the car belongs to software-defined mobility.

5. Cornelius Coffey

  • Category: The Horizon: Automotive & Aviation Bridging
  • Title: Master Auto Mechanic Turned Historic Aviation Pioneer
  • Bio: Cornelius Coffey’s legendary career is the ultimate proof that automotive mastery is the foundational springboard for all global mobility. Long before conquering the skies, Coffey graduated at the top of his class from the Chicago School of Automotive Engineering and spent years working as a certified Auto Master Mechanic at a prominent Chevrolet dealership. When systemic racism blocked him from commercial flight schools, Coffey used his deep automotive expertise to build his first aircraft by hand, powering it with a motorcycle engine. Furthermore, it was his employer at the Chevrolet dealership who legally championed Coffey’s right to enter aviation school. Coffey went on to become the first African American to hold both a pilot’s and aircraft mechanic’s license, founding the first Black-owned certified flight school in the U.S. and training the legendary Tuskegee Airmen—a historic legacy built entirely on an automotive foundation.

How Professional Garment Care Helps Clothes Last Longer and Look Better

Clothing represents more than a basic necessity. Whether it is everyday workwear, special occasion attire, or favorite seasonal pieces, garments play an important role in personal appearance and confidence. Yet many people unknowingly shorten the lifespan of their clothing through improper cleaning, storage, and maintenance habits.

Modern fabrics are often made from complex blends that require specific care techniques. While home washing machines provide convenience, they are not always the best solution for preserving fabric quality over the long term. Repeated exposure to harsh detergents, incorrect water temperatures, and aggressive wash cycles can gradually weaken fibers and diminish a garment’s appearance.

Professional garment care offers a different approach. Through specialized cleaning methods, fabric-specific treatment processes, and expert attention to detail, professional services help clothing remain in excellent condition while extending its usable life. Understanding these benefits can help consumers protect their wardrobe investments and enjoy better-looking garments for years.

The Hidden Cost of Improper Clothing Care

Many people focus on the purchase price of clothing but overlook the costs associated with premature replacement. A shirt, suit, dress, or coat that deteriorates quickly often needs to be replaced sooner than expected, increasing long-term wardrobe expenses.

Fabric damage rarely happens all at once. Colors gradually fade, fibers weaken, seams become stressed, and materials lose their original texture. Because these changes occur slowly, they may go unnoticed until the garment no longer looks presentable.

Professional care helps reduce this wear by using cleaning processes designed to preserve fabrics rather than simply remove dirt. This attention to fabric health can significantly extend the life of clothing while helping maintain its original appearance.

Understanding How Different Fabrics Require Different Treatment

Not all garments respond the same way to cleaning methods. Cotton, wool, silk, linen, rayon, and synthetic blends each have unique characteristics that affect how they should be cleaned and maintained.

Wool can shrink if exposed to improper washing conditions. Silk may lose its smooth texture when treated with harsh detergents. Delicate blends often require controlled cleaning environments that standard home equipment cannot consistently provide.

Professional cleaners understand these differences and adjust their methods accordingly. Ian’s Cleaners uses fabric-specific approaches that help protect garments from unnecessary stress while delivering thorough cleaning results.

Why Stain Removal Requires Specialized Knowledge

Stains are among the most common reasons garments are discarded prematurely. Many people attempt to remove stains at home using products that are not suitable for the fabric or stain type involved.

Unfortunately, incorrect treatment can permanently set a stain or damage surrounding fibers. Certain substances react differently depending on their composition, the fabric involved, and the amount of time that has passed since the stain occurred.

Professional stain removal relies on experience and specialized techniques. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all solution, trained professionals evaluate each situation individually to maximize stain removal success while protecting the integrity of the garment.

Preserving Color and Fabric Texture Over Time

One of the most noticeable signs of clothing deterioration is fading. Bright colors can become dull, dark fabrics may appear washed out, and textured materials often lose their original character after repeated improper cleaning.

Heat, friction, chemicals, and excessive washing all contribute to these changes. Over time, even high-quality garments can begin to look worn if they are not cared for correctly.

Professional garment care helps minimize these effects through controlled cleaning processes. By reducing unnecessary stress on fabrics, garments often retain their color, shape, and texture for significantly longer periods.

The Role of Proper Finishing and Pressing

Cleaning is only part of garment care. Proper finishing and pressing also contribute to how clothing looks and performs after treatment. Wrinkles, creases, and misshapen areas can affect both appearance and comfort.

Professional finishing techniques help restore garments to their intended form. Jackets maintain structure, dress shirts appear crisp, and delicate garments receive the careful handling necessary to preserve their design.

Ian’s Cleaners recognizes that presentation matters just as much as cleanliness. Professional finishing helps ensure that garments look polished and ready to wear while maintaining their original shape and fit.

Protecting Specialty and Seasonal Clothing

Certain garments require extra attention because they are worn less frequently or serve specific purposes. Formal wear, winter coats, business attire, and specialty fabrics often represent significant investments that deserve proper maintenance.

When these items are stored without appropriate cleaning, residual dirt, oils, and stains can continue affecting the fabric. Over time, this may lead to discoloration, odor development, or material degradation.

Professional cleaning before storage helps protect seasonal and specialty clothing from long-term damage. Proper preparation ensures that garments remain in excellent condition and are ready when needed again.

How Professional Care Supports Sustainability

Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important consideration for consumers. One of the simplest ways to reduce clothing waste is by extending the lifespan of garments already owned.

Fast replacement cycles contribute to unnecessary consumption and increased textile waste. When clothing lasts longer, fewer resources are required to manufacture replacement items. This benefits both consumers and the environment.

Professional garment care supports this goal by helping garments remain wearable for longer periods. Ian’s Cleaners contributes to this effort by providing services that focus on preservation, maintenance, and long-term fabric care rather than short-term cleaning alone.

The Convenience Factor of Professional Garment Services

While garment protection is a major advantage, convenience is another reason many consumers choose professional care services. Busy schedules often leave little time for sorting, washing, drying, ironing, and stain treatment.

Professional services simplify these responsibilities by handling the entire process efficiently. This allows individuals and families to focus on work, personal commitments, and leisure activities without sacrificing clothing care quality.

Convenient pickup and delivery options further streamline the experience. By combining expert care with time-saving solutions, professional garment services provide practical value that extends beyond fabric maintenance.

Making Clothing Investments Last Longer

Quality clothing often represents a meaningful investment. Whether purchasing business attire, formal garments, designer pieces, or everyday essentials, most consumers want their clothing to remain attractive and functional for as long as possible.

Achieving this goal requires more than occasional cleaning. It involves consistent maintenance, proper treatment methods, and attention to fabric-specific needs. Professional garment care provides the expertise necessary to support these objectives while minimizing avoidable wear.

When garments receive the right level of care, they maintain their appearance, comfort, and performance far longer than they otherwise would. Professional cleaning services help preserve both the value and enjoyment of a wardrobe, making them an important part of long-term clothing maintenance.

Why Window Replacement Can Improve Indoor Comfort Throughout Every Season

A comfortable home depends on many factors working together to create a pleasant indoor environment. Heating and cooling systems, insulation, ventilation, and building materials all contribute to maintaining consistent temperatures throughout the year. Among these elements, windows play a particularly important role because they directly affect how a home responds to changing outdoor conditions.

As windows age, their ability to provide insulation and maintain indoor comfort may gradually decline. Drafts, air leaks, and outdated materials can make certain rooms feel too warm during summer and too cold during winter. These issues often force heating and cooling systems to work harder, affecting both comfort and efficiency.

Investing in window replacement is one of the most effective ways to improve year-round comfort. Modern windows are designed to support better temperature control, reduce energy loss, and create a more enjoyable living environment for homeowners and their families.

Understanding the Role Windows Play in Home Comfort

Windows serve as a barrier between indoor living spaces and the outdoor environment. While they provide natural light and views of the surrounding area, they must also help regulate heat transfer and prevent unwanted air movement. When functioning properly, windows contribute to a stable and comfortable indoor climate.

Older windows often struggle to meet modern performance standards. Over time, seals may weaken, frames can deteriorate, and glass technology may become outdated. These factors can lead to inconsistent indoor temperatures and reduced overall comfort.

Maintaining effective windows is essential for preserving a comfortable home throughout every season.

How Aging Windows Affect Indoor Conditions

Many homeowners do not immediately notice how much their windows influence comfort until problems become more obvious. Small drafts near window frames, uneven room temperatures, and increased reliance on heating or cooling equipment are often early warning signs.

As windows age, gaps may develop that allow outdoor air to enter and conditioned air to escape. During winter, this can create chilly areas near windows. During summer, excess heat may enter the home and make indoor spaces feel less comfortable.

These gradual changes often affect comfort long before homeowners consider replacing their windows.

Reducing Drafts During Colder Months

Drafts are among the most common complaints associated with aging windows. Even minor air leaks can create noticeable discomfort, particularly during colder weather. Homeowners may find themselves adjusting thermostats frequently to maintain comfortable temperatures.

Modern window replacement solutions are designed to minimize air leakage through improved frame construction and advanced sealing technologies. These features help create a tighter barrier between indoor and outdoor environments.

Reducing drafts allows homeowners to enjoy more consistent temperatures throughout their living spaces during colder months.

Improving Comfort During Summer Heat

Summer weather can place significant demands on a home’s cooling system. Excessive heat entering through outdated windows may make certain rooms difficult to keep comfortable. This issue is especially noticeable in areas that receive direct sunlight throughout the day.

Modern windows often incorporate advanced glass technologies that help reduce unwanted heat transfer. These improvements allow natural light to enter while limiting the amount of solar heat that affects indoor temperatures.

As a result, homeowners can enjoy brighter living spaces without sacrificing comfort during warmer seasons.

Supporting More Consistent Room Temperatures

One common challenge in many homes is maintaining consistent temperatures from room to room. Some areas may feel significantly warmer or cooler than others, creating discomfort and reducing overall satisfaction with the indoor environment.

Window replacement can help address these inconsistencies by improving insulation performance throughout the home. Better thermal protection reduces the influence of outdoor conditions and helps maintain more stable temperatures.

This consistency contributes to a more comfortable and enjoyable living experience year-round.

Enhancing Natural Light Without Compromising Comfort

Natural light is an important element of home design and comfort. Bright, sunlit rooms often feel more inviting and spacious than darker areas. However, older windows may allow excessive heat gain or heat loss along with incoming sunlight.

Modern window systems are designed to balance daylight and thermal performance. Homeowners can enjoy abundant natural light while maintaining comfortable indoor conditions throughout the year.

TN Glass Install helps homeowners select window solutions that maximize comfort while preserving the benefits of natural illumination.

Supporting Better Indoor Air Quality

Comfort is not limited to temperature alone. Air quality also plays an important role in creating a healthy and pleasant living environment. Aging windows that allow uncontrolled air infiltration may introduce dust, pollen, and other outdoor particles into the home.

Modern windows provide improved sealing that helps reduce unwanted air movement. This tighter construction supports a cleaner indoor environment and contributes to greater overall comfort.

While ventilation remains important, controlled airflow generally provides a more pleasant indoor experience than unintended drafts and leaks.

Reducing Noise From Outside Environments

Outdoor noise can affect how comfortable a home feels on a daily basis. Traffic, construction, neighborhood activity, and other sounds may become disruptive when windows do not provide adequate insulation.

Many modern windows are designed to improve sound reduction through advanced glass configurations and frame construction. These features help create quieter indoor spaces where homeowners can relax and focus more easily.

A quieter environment contributes significantly to overall comfort and quality of life.

Improving Everyday Living Experiences

Comfort improvements often influence daily life in ways that homeowners may not immediately anticipate. Living rooms become more enjoyable, bedrooms provide better sleeping conditions, and workspaces feel more productive when temperatures remain stable and distractions are minimized.

Window replacement supports these improvements by creating environments that feel more consistent and inviting. Small changes in comfort can have a meaningful impact on how people experience their homes every day.

Window replacement service in Tacoma works with homeowners to identify solutions that enhance both functionality and comfort throughout the property.

Why Professional Installation Matters

Even high-quality windows require proper installation to deliver their intended benefits. Gaps, poor alignment, and inadequate sealing can reduce performance and limit the comfort improvements homeowners expect from new windows.

Professional installation ensures that windows fit correctly and perform as designed. Experienced specialists understand how to evaluate existing openings, address structural considerations, and create effective seals that support long-term durability.

TN Glass Install provides professional installation services that help homeowners maximize the comfort, efficiency, and performance of their window upgrades.

Conclusion

Creating a comfortable home requires attention to the components that influence temperature, air quality, and overall indoor conditions. Windows play a critical role in maintaining these factors, making their condition an important consideration for homeowners seeking greater comfort.

Window replacement offers a practical solution for reducing drafts, improving temperature consistency, enhancing natural light, and supporting a quieter indoor environment. These benefits contribute to a more enjoyable living experience throughout every season.

By investing in modern windows and professional installation, homeowners can create spaces that remain comfortable, efficient, and welcoming regardless of changing weather conditions. The result is

Why Regular House Cleaning Creates a Healthier and More Organized Living Environment

A clean home directly impacts comfort, health, and daily peace of mind. When living spaces are maintained regularly, they feel easier to manage and more enjoyable to use. Clean surroundings also help reduce stress because clutter and dust are less likely to build up over time.

Many homeowners focus on cleaning only when a space begins to look messy. While this approach may handle visible dirt, it often allows dust, allergens, and clutter to accumulate in less obvious areas. Over time, this can affect air quality, organization, and the overall feeling of the home.

House cleaning provides a consistent way to keep living spaces fresh, functional, and welcoming. With support from Neat N Tidy House Cleaning Of Denver, homeowners can maintain healthier environments while making everyday routines easier to manage.

How Clean Spaces Support Better Daily Living

A clean home naturally feels more comfortable. When surfaces are clear, floors are maintained, and common areas are organized, daily activities become easier. Simple tasks like cooking, relaxing, or getting ready for the day feel less stressful in a tidy environment.

Clutter can make a home feel smaller and more chaotic. It often causes unnecessary distractions and makes it harder to find important items. Regular cleaning helps prevent this buildup before it becomes overwhelming.

Maintained spaces also encourage better habits. When the home already feels clean, household members are more likely to keep it that way.

Improving Indoor Health and Air Quality

Dust, pet dander, pollen, and other particles can collect quickly inside a home. These materials often settle on floors, furniture, shelves, and fabric surfaces. If they are not removed regularly, they can affect indoor air quality.

Routine cleaning helps reduce these irritants. Vacuuming, dusting, and wiping surfaces all contribute to a fresher indoor environment. This is especially important for households with children, pets, or individuals sensitive to allergens.

House cleaning supports healthier living by reducing buildup that can affect breathing comfort and cleanliness. A fresher home often feels better physically and visually.

Reducing Germs on High-Touch Surfaces

Certain areas of the home are touched many times throughout the day. Door handles, countertops, light switches, faucets, and appliance handles can quickly collect germs. These surfaces need regular attention to help maintain a cleaner environment.

Disinfecting high-touch areas reduces the spread of unwanted bacteria and contaminants. It also helps create a safer space for families, guests, and anyone spending time in the home. Small cleaning habits can make a meaningful difference.

Neat N Tidy House Cleaning Of Denver helps homeowners stay consistent with these details. Regular attention to frequently used areas helps maintain a cleaner, more comfortable household.

Creating a More Organized Home Routine

A tidy home makes routines easier to follow. When items are in their proper places and surfaces are not overcrowded, daily responsibilities feel more manageable. This can improve productivity and reduce wasted time.

Cleaning also helps reveal what is no longer needed. As spaces are maintained, homeowners may notice clutter that can be removed, donated, or reorganized. This keeps the home from becoming overloaded with unused items.

Organization and cleanliness work together. A clean home supports better structure, while better structure makes cleaning easier.

Protecting Comfort in Shared Living Areas

Living rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and entryways often receive the most traffic. These areas can become messy quickly because they are used by everyone in the household. Keeping them clean helps maintain comfort for daily life.

The kitchen benefits from regular attention because food preparation can leave crumbs, spills, and residue behind. Bathrooms require consistent care to prevent buildup and maintain freshness. Entryways often collect dirt from outside and need routine maintenance.

House cleaning ensures that shared spaces remain welcoming and usable. Clean common areas help the entire home feel more balanced.

Reducing Stress and Mental Clutter

The condition of a home can influence mood. Messy spaces often create a sense of unfinished work, even during moments meant for rest. This can make it harder to relax fully.

Clean surroundings help create a calmer atmosphere. When rooms are orderly, the mind often feels less distracted. Many homeowners find that maintaining clean spaces improves focus and supports a more peaceful daily routine.

Neat N Tidy House Cleaning Of Denver understands how important a comfortable home environment can be. Consistent cleaning helps reduce both physical clutter and the stress that often comes with it.

Making Guests Feel More Welcome

A clean home creates a better experience for visitors. Whether hosting family, friends, or neighbors, tidy spaces help guests feel comfortable. Clean entryways, bathrooms, and seating areas leave a positive impression.

Preparing for guests becomes easier when the home is maintained regularly. Instead of rushing through a major cleanup, homeowners can make small adjustments before visitors arrive. This reduces pressure and makes hosting more enjoyable.

A consistently clean home feels ready for everyday living and special occasions. That convenience adds value to regular upkeep.

Supporting Long-Term Home Maintenance

Regular cleaning does more than improve appearance. It also helps protect surfaces, flooring, fixtures, and furniture from unnecessary wear. Dirt and grime can gradually degrade materials if left in place for too long.

Dust can dull surfaces, spills can stain, and buildup can make fixtures harder to clean later. Routine care prevents these issues from becoming more difficult over time. This helps preserve the condition of the home.

Neat N Tidy House Cleaning Of Denver supports homeowners who want to protect both comfort and long-term property care. Clean homes are often easier to maintain year after year.

Conclusion

A clean home supports better health, comfort, organization, and peace of mind. Regular upkeep prevents dust, clutter, and germs from building up while making daily routines easier to manage.

House cleaning is not only about appearance. It plays an important role in creating a healthier and more enjoyable living environment for everyone in the home.

With help from Neat N Tidy House Cleaning Of Denver, homeowners can keep their spaces fresh, organized, and welcoming. Consistent care creates a home that feels cleaner, calmer, and easier to enjoy every day.

Wood Brothers Racing – Race Report: San Diego

Event: Anduril 250
Location: Naval Base Coronado, San Diego, California
Date: Sunday, June 21, 2026
Start: 35th
Finish: 29th

After their hopes for a strong finish in Sunday’s Anduril 250 Race the Base at Naval Base Coronado were dashed by a mid-race collision, Josh Berry and the No. 21 Motorcraft/Quick Lane team came away with a 29th-place finish.

Berry started 35th for the 75-lap event on the 16-turn, 3.4-mile street course through the active military installation near San Diego. Pit strategy played a significant role throughout the race, and when the opening 20-lap stage came to an end, the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Mustang Dark Horse was scored in 15th place.

After a pit stop during the stage break, Berry lined up 29th for the start of Stage 2. He worked his way forward and avoided a multi-car incident that eliminated several contenders before the segment concluded with the No. 21 team running 27th.

Following the break, Berry moved up to 18th for the start of the final segment. However, contact from behind on the restart sent the No. 21 Mustang into a spin and caused significant front-end damage.

Despite the setback, Berry and the Motorcraft/Quick Lane team continued to battle through the remainder of the race, overcoming the damage and navigating several strategy cycles before taking the checkered flag in 29th place.

Berry and the Wood Brothers team now turn their attention to next Sunday’s road course race at Sonoma Raceway.

Team Penske NASCAR Cup Series Race Report – San Diego

Anduril 250 – Naval Base Coronado
San Diego, California – June 21, 2026

AUSTIN CINDRIC No. 2 MENARDS/CARDELL FORD MUSTANG DARK HORSE

START: 31ST STAGE 1: 25TH STAGE 2: 16TH FINISH: 22ND POINTS: 15TH

RACE RUNDOWN: Austin Cindric and the No. 2 Menards/Cardell Ford Mustang Dark Horse team battled handling challenges throughout Sunday’s Anduril 250 at Naval Base Coronado, ultimately finishing 22nd in NASCAR’s first Cup Series race on an active military base. After starting 31st on the 3.4-mile course, Cindric reported a loose condition early in the event and made a pit stop on Lap 11 for fresh tires, fuel and adjustments. Varying pit strategies shuffled the running order throughout the opening stage, and Cindric advanced to 25th by the conclusion of Stage 1. Crew chief Brian Wilson and the No. 2 team made a series of aggressive adjustments in an effort to improve the balance and find grip with the Menards/Cardell Ford. Additional changes followed during a caution period in Stage 2 as the team continued to work toward a more comfortable balance. Despite restarting at the rear of the field following an extended stop, Cindric patiently worked his way forward and avoided a major multi-car incident on a restart midway through the race. The Team Penske driver gained position, ending Stage 2 in 16th position. The final Stage featured several caution periods and strategic pit decisions that once again shuffled the running order. Cindric continued to battle the tight and technical track, ultimately taking the checkered flag in 22nd place.

CINDRIC’S THOUGHTS: “A challenging day for our No. 2 Menards/Cardell Ford Mustang Dark Horse team. We fought handling issues most of the race and never really found the balance we needed to be as competitive as we wanted. The team kept making adjustments and we were able to improve it some as the day went on. We’ll take what we learned and turn our focus to Sonoma next weekend.”

RYAN BLANEY No. 12 WURTH FORD MUSTANG DARK HORSE

START: 3RD STAGE 1: 1ST STAGE 2: 5TH FINISH: 9TH POINTS: 3RD

RACE RUNDOWN: Ryan Blaney and the No. 12 Wurth Ford Mustang Dark Horse team turned in their fifth-consecutive top-10 finish – and 12th on the season to tie for the Cup Series lead – in Sunday’s inaugural Anduril 250 on Naval Base Coronado. After starting on row two for the 75-lap event, Blaney led his first of a race-high 12 laps when he took the lead four laps in before opening up a nearly three-second advantage in the early going. Crew chief Jonathan Hassler opted to split the first 20-lap stage in half, calling Blaney to pit road from the lead on lap 10 for a four-tire stop. A caution two laps later fell in the 12 team’s favor as Blaney was able to carve his way back to the front with four laps remaining in Stage 1 en route to his second stage win of the season. Varying tire strategies began to take shape in Stage 2 as Blaney was running just outside the top-20 when a multi-car incident unraveled in turn one, eventually bringing out the red flag on lap 32. Once the race went back green, Blaney again made quick work of those ahead at a tire disadvantage and picked off a few positions due to teams flipping the stage to come away with a fifth-place finish in the second segment. After staying out between stages, Blaney lined up to restart third and regained the lead on lap 48 before eventually giving way to the No. 5 on eight-lap fresher tires. Hassler called Blaney to pit road with 22 laps to go for what was thought to be his final stop of the afternoon, but the caution flag flew six laps later to set up one final four tire stop before the final restart with 12 laps remaining. After taking the green flag from 21st, Blaney worked his way into the top-10 in just four laps before taking the checkered flag ninth.

BLANEY’S THOUGHTS: “There were a bunch of different strategies going on and it’s kind of hard to pick which one is gonna be the right one, but, overall, we did a really good job today of staying clean and getting really good stage points. We stayed in the race and ended up with a decent finish. It was a fun day for sure. I thought our Wurth Ford Mustang was fairly quick and it was fun to work through it all day. It was a fantastic event. I had a blast all weekend. The Navy was great to us. The base was great to us and personally I would love to come back. It’s a cool event.”

JOEY LOGANO No. 22 SHELL-PENNZOIL FORD MUSTANG DARK HORSE

START: 19TH STAGE 1: 8TH STAGE 2: 10TH FINISH: 18TH POINTS: 18TH

RACE RUNDOWN: Joey Logano and the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford Mustang Dark Horse team produced a pair of top-10 stage finishes in an 18th-place effort Sunday at Naval Base Coronado. After taking the green flag in the inaugural street race, Logano made his way up to 15th in the running order before crew chief Paul Wolfe called him to pit road for a scheduled green flag stop on lap nine. Logano went on to work his way into the top-10 in the closing laps of the opening segment as teams opted to flip the stage, resulting in an eighth-place finish in Stage 1. After pitting during the stage break, Logano restarted 23rd and made up nine spots in the first two laps before the caution flag flew on lap 29. Staying out allowed him to move up to 10th in the running order for the ensuing restart when a multi-car incident unraveled in turn one as Logano maneuvered his way through the middle with minimal contact. The red flag was displayed on lap 32 for track repairs and once it was lifted, Logano restarted from fifth with the laps winding down in Stage 2 but fresher tires prevailed over the course of the run, forcing the 22 team to settle for a 10th-place finish in the second segment. Logano worked to regain track position during the final segment with varying strategies at play throughout the field as the 22 team planned to pit with 16 laps remaining when the caution flag flew before Logano was able to make it to pit road. After pitting under caution for four tires and one final round of adjustments, Logano restarted from 22nd with 12 laps remaining before ultimately taking the checkered flag scored 18th.

LOGANO’S THOUGHTS: “Proud of the effort from the 22 crew to stay with it all day and [crew chief] Paul [Wolfe] made some good calls to put us in spot to get stage points early on. The strategies were all over the place but we were able to stay on top of it. This was a really cool weekend to be a part of and appreciate everything that went on behind the scenes to make it come together the way it did.”

The NASCAR Cup Series heads north along the west coast to Sonoma Raceway for the Toyota/Save Mart 350 on Sunday, June 28. Coverage begins at 3:30 p.m. ET on TNT, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.

DRIVER HIGHLIGHTS

Chris Buescher – No. 17 Body Guard Ford Mustang Dark Horse

Finish: 6th
Start: 16th
Laps Led: 7
Stage Results: S1-26th, S2-3rd
Headline takeaway: Recovering from a dramatic early race spin, where he turned 360 degrees and kept going, Buescher scored another top-10 finish. The Body Guard Ford contended for the win, leading on two separate occasions, as Buescher turned in his 9th top ten finish this season.

Buescher Quote: “The weekend was a blast. Practice and qualifying I just didn’t come up to speed quick enough and wasn’t where we wanted to be. We got in the race and we just started driving through the field. It was so much fun. I’d take this Body Guard by Fastenal Ford Mustang and do that every time we had cycles and it was just a really strong day. It’s just that last caution wasn’t what we needed. We needed it about eight laps later and we would have been in a heck of a spot. That’s how it falls. Everybody did a nice job and it was a solid day from start to finish.”

Ryan Preece – No. 60 Ralphs / Scott 1000 Ford Mustang Dark Horse

Finish: 11th
Start: 7th
Laps Led: 5
Stage Results: S1-2nd, S2- 1st
Headline takeaway: Backing up his strong top ten qualifying performance, Preece showed race-winning speed all afternoon. The Ralph’s Scott 1000 Ford capturing stage points in each of the first two stages, including a stage victory.

Preece Quote: “We had a great points day, then climbing from 28th late in the race to 11th to close it out. It was a good day. We want to be strong on road courses and capitalize on those days and we did that today. This whole trip to San Diego exceeded all expectations.”

Brad Keselowski – No. 6 BuildSubmarines.com Ford Mustang Dark Horse

Finish: 34th
Start: 29th
Laps Led: —
Stage Results: S1-20th, S2-18th
Headline takeaway: On a day filled with promise, where he charged through the field picking up ten spots in the first nine laps, Keselowski was forced to work through mid-race adversity. The team worked tirelessly on the BuildSubmarines.com Ford Mustang to repair suspension damage that ultimately dictated the day’s outcome.

Keselowski Quote: “It was a really long day. The team worked really hard. We got some damage when I made a little mistake in turn 5 and we recovered from it and we were going to kind of reset our day. We had a great start to the race, passed a lot of cars. That was fun. A bunch of cars spun out in 12A and we kind of got collected in the melee behind it and that was unfortunate and put us behind the wall and really ended our day.”

Point Standings:

Buescher: 7th
Preece: 16th
Keselowski: 19th

Why 2026 F1 Cars Are So Different from 2025 Cars

Photo by Marc Kleen on Unsplash

The 2026 Formula 1 season marks the start of a new technical era. The last time the sport saw changes on this scale was in 2014, when F1 moved to hybrid power units. Now teams once again have to rethink almost every part of their cars and build them around a new set of rules.

That is why the 2026 cars look and work very differently from the 2025 models. The changes affect aerodynamics, size, weight, and the way cars use energy on track.

New Aerodynamic Rules

One of the biggest changes comes from the new aerodynamic concept. The FIA wants to make racing closer and create more chances for overtaking. To do this, the rules changed the design of the front wing, rear wing, and floor.

The 2026 regulations also introduce active aerodynamics. This means some parts of the car can change their position depending on the situation. On straights, the car can reduce drag and become more efficient. In corners, it can switch back to a setup that gives the driver more grip and stability.

This should help teams balance speed and control better during a lap. It also changes how engineers design the whole car, because aerodynamics will no longer work in exactly the same way as before. As a result, the 2026 casino era of Formula 1 is expected to bring a fresh approach to car development and racing strategy.

Smaller and Lighter Cars

In recent years, Formula 1 cars have often been criticized for being too large and too heavy. In 2026, the FIA decided to move back toward more compact cars.

The new cars are shorter and narrower than the previous generation. Their minimum weight has also been reduced. This should make them easier to handle, especially on technical tracks with many slow and medium-speed corners.

For drivers, this means a car that feels more agile. For fans, it could make wheel-to-wheel battles closer, as smaller cars should be easier to place on track during attacks and defensive moves.

Major Changes to Power Units

Another key change is the new power unit rules. Formula 1 will still use turbocharged V6 engines, but the way they work will change a lot.

Electric power will play a much bigger role in 2026. At the same time, the MGU-H system will be removed completely. This part was used to recover energy from the turbo, but it was expensive and difficult to develop.

The new power units will also run on sustainable synthetic fuel. This fits Formula 1’s wider goal of reducing its carbon footprint and making the championship more useful for future road car technology.

New Chances for Teams

A major rule change always gives teams a chance to move up the grid. When the regulations change, engineers can find new ideas and gain an advantage before others catch up.

That is why the 2026 season brings extra attention to new manufacturers. Audi is entering Formula 1, while Cadillac is also becoming an important part of the new era. A fresh technical cycle could help these projects close the gap to the leading teams faster than usual.

For established teams, this also creates risk. A strong 2025 car does not guarantee success in 2026. Everyone has to adapt to the same new rules, and even small design choices can have a big impact.

What to Expect from Formula 1’s New Era

The 2026 cars are not being built only for speed. They are also part of Formula 1’s attempt to prepare for the future of motorsport. New aerodynamics, updated power units, and smaller car designs should make the racing more interesting for fans and more relevant for manufacturers.

That is why many experts already see 2026 as the start of a new Formula 1 era. The real balance of power will only become clear after the first few Grands Prix. Still, one thing is clear: the 2026 cars will be much more different from the 2025 cars than they may seem at first.

COREY HEIM DAZZLES AT SAN DIEGO WITH FIRST CUP SERIES WIN

Georgia Native Scores first Win in 13th Series Start to Mark Strong Race for 23XI

SAN DIEGO (June 21, 2026) – Corey Heim executed a perfect late race pass on 23XI and Toyota teammate Tyler Reddick to notch his first career NASCAR Cup Series win Sunday afternoon in the inaugural San Diego Street Race at Naval Base Coronado.

The victory marked the first time Toyota has won four straight Cup Series races since 2017 and the fifth time overall in its 20-year history in NASCAR’s top series. The win was also notable as the first time the No. 67 found victory lane in the 78-year existence of the Cup Series.

The race was Toyota’s 11th total victory this season. The race also marked a strong day for 23XI Racing overall, as Bubba Wallace finished in the runner-up spot for 23XI’s first ever 1-2 finish. Additionally, the team had all four cars inside the top six with just a few laps to go. Small issues pushed Riley Herbt to an eighth-place finish and relegated Reddick to a 25th-place finish. Reddick had a impressive day going where he led nine total laps, but was passed for the lead by Heim with just three laps to go during a hard fought, but clean battle between teammates.

TOYOTA QUOTES

COREY HEIM, No. 67 Mobil 1/O’Reilly Auto Parts Toyota Camry XSE, 23XI Racing

Finishing Position: 1st

How does it feel for your first career win?

“I’m speechless. I mean, we started the race, I mean, I think we started 13th. We fell straight back to 20th. Then put on our scuffs from qualifying, struggled just as bad. I don’t know if we made any adjustments. Bootie (Barker, crew chief) kept telling me these were our worst two sets of tire, we were going to be fine. He was right. I couldn’t believe it. We strapped another set of tires on, and we were just fine. Hit the wall a couple of times and maybe knocked some good into the car. I have no idea. After stage two, I just took a deep breath. I had high expectations coming into this race. Even playing field for me. You don’t see that every day for a young driver like myself. Just kind of took a deep breath, reset and went after it. Caught a couple breaks with some of the good guys out.

How was the battle with your teammate Tyler Reddick?

“I feel like for a while I thought he was kind of playing with me, but he was able to set the pace being the lead car. I was able to stick with him. I’m not really burning my stuff up. Five to go came. Time to put some pressure on him, see if I could get him to make a mistake. Sure enough he did. I think he ended up braking or something. I don’t know what happened to me. He doored me down there in five and gave me back to me. That’s something you don’t see every day. That’s a great teammate. I don’t know. Just crazy. It feels like a dream. I hope I don’t wake up from this dream. This is insane. So thankful for 23XI, Mobil 1, Toyota for this journey. I didn’t expect to come into my part-time season and win. Here we are. It’s crazy. Hasn’t even sunk in yet. I’m sure it will.”

BUBBA WALLACE, No. 23 Xfinity Toyota Camry XSE, 23XI Racing

Finishing Position: 2nd

You had an eventful day, how did you manage to pull off a second-place finish?

“We are all busting our ass to perform and to have a little thing not go our way. I got to focus on what we can control, but all in all a good day for Toyota and a good day for Xfinity and a good day for our team. I believe that’s the first 1-2 finish for our team, but I could be wrong. Good to come out of here in San Diego and have a bit of fun, appreciate NASCAR and appreciate the Navy for everything they did here this weekend.”

DENNY HAMLIN, No. 11 Bob’s Discount Furniture Toyota Camry XSE, Joe Gibbs Racing

Finishing Position: 14th

Which part of this day makes you happy, that you cut the points lead down or your young driver winning?

“The driver part, the points are the points. Really happy for Corey and that whole team. Dave Rogers (23XI Competition Director) doing such a good job, they are putting that fourth entry together and piecing together guys from around the shop and some development guys. We gave Corey an agenda this week that in each start his is our expectations, here’s what we want you to work on. I don’t think this was in the agenda for San Diego. He’s been good at road course racing anyway, as (Ryan) Blaney mentioned, he’s going to be a problem.”

Tell us about your day behind the wheel with your No. 11 Toyota Camry XSE

“I felt really good about where our car was all day. We were at the line on pit road and he says I don’t think you’re going to make and I steered hard left and the caution came out. That stunk, had to start 19th or 20th on the last restart and only could get back to 14th. Inside the top-15, that was the agenda for this week and will try to go to Sonoma and do the same thing.”

RILEY HERBST, No. 35 Monster Energy Toyota Camry XSE, 23XI Racing

Finishing Position: 8th

How did you miss the big wreck earlier in the race?

“I don’t know. It’s so tricky. This corner is so difficult. This asphalt is just so slick. I think that was the restart where everybody had some confidence and we just wanted to pick it up a little bit. The front two, the 88, 97, 33, I think they kept bluffing each other into turn one. The marbles caught it. I was lucky enough to miss it there on the bottom. All in all, a good day for this 35 car. I thought we had a fourth-place finish. Got moved there on the last lap by the 16. Finished eighth. We’ll take it and go try again at Sonoma.”

TYLER REDDICK, No. 45 Pala Casino Toyota Camry XSE, 23XI Racing

Finishing Position: 25th

Can you tell us about your battle with Corey Heim for the win?

“We were involved in so much today. To even have a shot at it at the end was really nice. I thought I was going to be able to hold him off there. Yeah, we kind of just struggled with rear tire life all weekend long. I got beat by our own stuff. We’ll try to figure this out. It definitely stings. First and foremost, congratulations to Corey. I tried to battle back and overdid it. I really did it. I ran him straight in the wall. That wasn’t right. I wasn’t going to pass him for the win that way, especially a teammate. It’s a real shame. I don’t know if I cut the tire during, before or after. I’m not really sure. Really needed good points day. Had another really bad one. We’ll try and scrape together and have a decent finish in Sonoma.”

BRENT CREWS, No. 20 Craftsman Racing for a Miracle Toyota Camry XSE, Joe Gibbs Racing

Finishing Position: 39th (Finish will be credited to Christopher Bell as he started the race)

What happened out there to put you out of the race?

“I was kind of going through the gears and it just broke, I’m not really sure. I’m going to have to have Adam (Stevens, crew chief) to look over it and myself to figure out if it was something I did or if it was just a freak accident. Once I look at it I’ll have more answers. It’s really unfortunate for this whole team. We came here to get points and coming out with not much. Unfortunate for the whole group, it was a great opportunity to come and learn and try and help these guys out.”

What were the challenges of going from the O’Reilly car to the Cup car?

“I had three laps I think in the Cup car and five in the O’Reilly car, so it was just trying to learn to the best of my ability. They are a lot different, the grip level is a lot less in the Cup car, but it’s got a lot of brakes but right after that it falls off and you don’t see that as much in the O’Reilly car.”
