It marks the first involvement for Atlas with the series. Based in Atlanta, Atlas Roofing Corporation manufactures roof shingles, polyiso insulation, molded polystyrene, and paper and coated facers for new construction, remodels, and renovations.

ARCA has sanctioned the stock car portion of the weekend since 1983, the first two of which were co-sanctioned with USAC. As it has since the 1950s, the USAC Silver Crown Series will once again be a part of the weekend with a 100-mile race on Saturday, August 20.

“The race at Springfield is one of our cornerstone events, stretching back to 1983,” said ARCA president Ron Drager. “It’s one of the races that we can directly tie back to the formative days of the sport when stock car races were held on dirt fairgrounds tracks all across the country. We’re proud to carry on this tradition, and we’re pleased to partner with Atlas for what promises to be a memorable day of racing.”

“We are thrilled to have Atlas on board for the ARCA Menards Series race at Springfield,” said Bob Sargent, president of Track Enterprises, promoter of the weekend’s racing events at the Illinois State Fair. “We have a long-standing relationship with ARCA and with the fair, and it’s always great to bring new partners into the sport.”

Wright Motorsports Ready to Shine as Home Team at VIRginia International Raceway

ALTON, Vir., (June 15, 2022) – The Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS journeys to VIRginia International Raceway this weekend for rounds five and six of the thirteen-race championship. The Wright Motorsports father and son-in-law driving duo of Charlie Luck and Jan Heylen soak up all of the benefits of the homefield advantage in the No. 45 Porsche 911 GT3 R, as Luck and his family hail from Richmond, Virginia.

“It’s always fun when we have a home race week,” said Team Owner John Wright. “Not only does the strong sense of familiarity and confidence help, but the Luck family always comes out to support and cheer us on at this event. The enthusiasm they bring is contagious, and we’re feeling good about having a strong performance at one of our favorite tracks.”

Luck has had great success at the 17-turn, 3.27-mile road course. In 2021, the Virginian dominated the double-header weekend with back-to-back wins in the GT America powered by AWS series in front of his home crowd. Heylen also had a strong run at the circuit last year in GT World Challenge America, scoring a pair of second-place finishes with then co-driver Fred Poordad. The pair competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans last weekend, and alongside fellow Wright Motorsports alumni Max Root, earned a notable fifth-place finish at the famed event.

This year, Luck has advanced up from GT America to the GT World Challenge America, the headlining series for SRO America. The advancement moved Luck from a single-driver sprint format to longer races in which he now shares the driving duties with co-driver and son-in-law, Heylen. The pair each split the driving duties over the course of each 90-minute race. Rules require Luck start the first race with Heylen taking over during the mandatory pit stop. Race one will begin on Saturday, June 18 at 2:15 PM ET, airing live on YouTube.com/GTWorld. Luck and Heylen will switch the driving order for race two, with Heylen starting and Luck closing out the event. Race two will begin on Sunday, June 19 at 1:15 PM ET, also airing live on the GT World YouTube page.

The team will be looking to rebound from a challenging weekend at NOLA Motorsports Park, where the group finished tenth and six, a rare departure from the consistent podium finishes the squad is known for. High temperatures will likely be a hindrance to deal with during the weekend, as is usually the case at VIRginia International Raceway in June. However, the No. 45 Porsche 911 GT3 R excels at the beautiful, wooded circuit, and Wright Motorsports will be the team to watch.

Charlie Luck // No. 45 Porsche 911 GT3 R
I can’t wait to get to VIR. We are looking forward to recovering from the struggles we had at New Orleans and certainly know the track well and can’t wait to compete again.

Jan Heylen // No. 45 Porsche 911 GT3 R
VIR! It’s a home race for Charlie and the family. It’s one of my favorite tracks on the schedule, and a fun track run by the best people. I hope we can keep building on Charlie’s momentum, as he keeps getting more and more comfortable in the car. It’ll be another hot race weekend, but NOLA’s warm and muggy temperatures could be considered preparation for this week!

Five movies about races for those who love speed

Racing is full of speed, emotions, feats on the track, shocking accidents, the happiness of victory, and the bitterness of defeat. The same can be said about the moments when motorsport breaks onto big and small screens. We have collected five dynamic films about racing that capture the viewer from the first seconds.

1. Rush, 2013

Ron Howard’s picture is based on real events. It tells the story of the confrontation between Niki Lauda and James Hunt, two Formula One pilots. Their rivalry reaches its peak during the 1976 season. The viewer watches how the fate of the heroes leads them to a pivotal moment, and the life of the athletes outside the circuit becomes part of the race.

Something similar is happening these days between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. Their rivalry does not go beyond sports yet, but during the races, for the sake of victory, they are ready to do whatever it takes. If you know which one of them will take over this season, you can place a bet at one of the bookmakers presented at bookmaker ratings za.

2. Driven, 2001

Jimmy (Kip Pardu) is a gifted young athlete who suddenly loses his grip and sets out to find a mentor to save his career. Ex-champion Joe Tento (Sylvester Stallone), who had left the world of racing after an accident, comes to help him. With his invaluable experience and knowledge of cunning tricks, Joe quickly brings up the new king of the roads. In parallel with this, Stallone’s character seeks to return behind the wheel of the racing car himself and prove to the world that his own path has not yet ended.

Despite the simple plot, Renny Harlin’s film is not inferior to many disaster films in terms of dynamics, drive, and emotional intensity.

3. Ford v Ferrari, 2019

The film is based on a true story. It is partly a production, partly a sports drama about how Ford went through a severe crisis in the 1960s, slowly closing factories and laying off workers. The corporation needed a breakthrough, and the invention of the Ford Mustang paid off. But to strengthen its position, it needed to beat the fast and stylish Ferrari in the French 24 Hours of Le Mans race.

The duo of designer Caroll Shelby and pilot Ken Miles, played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale, take on this task. The movie keeps the viewer in tension and very accurately creates a sense of presence. No wonder the picture took two Oscars for best editing and best sound editing.

4. The World’s Fastest Indian, 2005

The film is based on real events. It tells the story of Bert Monroe, who spends 25 years of his life perfecting the 1920 Indian Scout motorcycle. He modifies it with parts of his own production. In the mornings he disturbed the neighbors with the roar of the engine. At the age of 68, Bert goes to fulfill his dream and present his creation to a real race.

The plot focuses on the protagonist overcoming various obstacles on the way to the USA from New Zealand and the events of the races themselves. This is an inspiring story that even old age and lack of funds are not an obstacle to fulfilling a dream.

5. Death Race, 2008

The film takes place in an alternate reality in 2012, where the global economic crisis and unemployment have led to an increase in crime and self-financing of prisons. The warden of one of them decides to arrange a competition that would break all viewer records, a death race. There are no rules, just a killer truck. Liberation is the reward.

The movie is suitable for those who want to relax after a day’s work: a dynamic action movie without an overloaded plot with endless explosions, fights, special effects, and brutal Jason Statham.

Cabarrus Virtual Academy Principal Ken Simeone Top of the Class In CookOut Summer Shootout School Bus Slobberknocker

Cabarrus Virtual Academy principal Ken Simeone was all smiles after emerging victorious during a Round 2 school bus slobberknocker at the CookOut Summer Shootout on Tuesday at Charlotte Motor Speedway. (John Davison/CMS photo)
  • Ken Simeone, Cabarrus Virtual Academy principal, secured the checkered flag in the principal school bus race at the CookOut Summer Shootout at Charlotte Motor Speedway
  • Aidan Zschiedrich (Beginner Bandits), Darren Krantz Jr (Bandolero Bandits), Bobby Gossett (Outlaws), TJ Decaire (Young Lions), Carson Brown (VP Racing Semi-Pro), Ethan Norfleet (Boston Reid & Co. Pro) and Doug Stevens (Masters) also victorious in Round 2 of CookOut Summer Shootout at Charlotte Motor Speedway

CONCORD, N.C. (June 14, 2022) – Schools out, however, class was still in session Tuesday night as six area principals hit the quarter-mile track at Charlotte Motor Speedway in the CookOut Summer Shootout with hopes of being named top of the class in the long-awaited return of principal school bus racing.

Cabarrus County Schools Virtual Academy principal Kenneth Simeone bested the field, which also included Northwest Cabarrus Middle school principal Chasity Szabo, J.N. Fries Magnet school principal Sherry Lee, Hickory Ridge Middle school principal Tim Taylor, Winecoff Elementary School principal Trisha Cook and Diocese of Charlotte Catholic School principal Greg Monroe.

Simeone took the lead early and never looked back. Behind him, Taylor was the big mover of the race, starting in the sixth and final spot before bulldozing his way to the front to finish in the runner-up position. Chasity Szabo, principal at Northwest Cabarrus STEM Middle, filled out the podium with a third-place finish in the wildly popular school bus slobberknocker.

Smoke poured out of the engine of Simeone’s orange-painted machine, but the hotshoe driver pulled away from the competition late in the race.

“That was awesome,” Simeone said as he climbed out of his bus victoriously. “That was one of the coolest things I’ve done.”

While Simeone took home the trophy, fans were the real winners Tuesday night. The final two finishers, J.N. Fries Magent’s Sherry Lee and Winecoff Elementary school’s Trish Cook, got sent to detention – and in a pie in the face – for bringing up the rear of the field, much to the delight of their respective cheering sections.

Following the school pride event, Round 2 took place with the competition between the Bandolero and Legend Cars drivers.

Beating, Banging, Bandoleros

In the Bandolero Bandits division, Beckham Malone took the early lead heading into the first corner by going three-wide, but lost the position to Darren Krantz Jr., who pulled away from the field.

Ben Morabito brought out caution No. 1 with a spin on lap four. Malone and Krantz battled on the restart, opening the door for Colt Johnson, who moved up to second in a three-way battle for the lead.

Contact between Malone and Johnson sent Johnson spinning and bringing out the second caution of the night on lap eight. On the ensuing restart, Krantz took control. Morabito, charging back from his earlier spin, moved into second, while Johnson held off Mardy Roberts III for third.

The caution flew for a third time when Bryson Brinkley’s machine came to a stop on the frontstretch. Krantz’s dominance on restarts proved to be the difference as the young driver pulled away on the final restart of the contest, leading Morabito, Johnson, Malon and Carson Cauble to the checkered flag.

“It feels great,” he said of the Round 2 win. “I was trying to stay calm, make sure I got good starts, make my line better and just be faster on the restarts.”

Brown Takes VP Racing Semi-Pro Win

Carson Brown went wire-to-wire in a time-shortened VP Racing Semi-Pro division victory. The 21-lap affair was marred by a lengthy red flag after hard-charging Jayden Daniels and Michael Crafton got tangled up in Turn 2, with Crafton driving over the front of Daniels’ Legend Car.

With his strongest competition relegated to the pits, Brown, who finished runner-up to Daniels in last night’s opening round of the CookOut Summer Shootout, pulled away from the field to earn his first win of the young season.

“I was struggling there at the end on exit,” Brown said. “It’s awesome to win here at Charlotte. It’s a big track to win at – a big accomplishment.”

What to Look for When Choosing the Best Online Casino to Play

With the numerous online casino sites, it can be confusing trying to work out the best casino to play in. New online casinos are always coming up and each tries to offer the sweetest deals to its players. Unfortunately, we also have unregulated casinos. Playing in such a casino is risky as the owners could be involved in criminal activities. For instance, a rogue casino can be used for money laundering.

Many legitimate casino sites online provide both entertainment and also a chance to win money while some jackpots at Casimpo can run into the millions. However, there are a few things you’ll want to keep in mind if you want the best experience playing in online casinos. Here are a few things you’ll want to keep in mind;

Understand Your Gaming Needs

People will decide to gamble for a multitude of reasons. There are those that are dreaming of striking it big with a life-changing jackpot while others just enjoy pitting their gambling skills against the house and coming out tops. We also have players who will only play once in a blue moon as a way of killing time. Whatever your gambling personality, you should choose a casino that best suits your style.

You can find casino games in various forms that appeal to a wide variety of different types of players. Whether you love table games or you are a dedicated slots fan, you should choose an online casino site that has a wide variety of games in your preferred niche.

Pick the Best Online Casino

Most casinos online lay out the red carpet for new players. This includes offers of free spins or free cash. When looking for the best online casinos, do not just focus on the welcome package. Instead, look up reviews on the casino. Reputable online casino sites give the pros and cons of playing at that particular casino.

Customers will also give their reviews of live casinos, and they will be a great source of information on each casino site. In addition, review sites also frequently rank casinos using several factors. One of the signs that a casino is legitimate is its operating licenses. Also, a casino that is registered with an online casino regulatory body, such as eCOGRA, can be trusted. Lastly, the quality of games at any online casino is only as good as the software provider. Well-known software providers that are tried and tested tend to provide the best quality games. top comparison websites such as TheCasinoDB compile together the most trusted sites while taking such factors into consideration to help you make an informed decision when searching for a reputable casino. They are an invaluable tool to utilize to aid you in your search for the best online venue.

Bonuses and Promotions

With the online casino industry booming, there is cut-throat competition for new players to sign in to achieve this, casinos are figuratively rolling out the red carpet and popping open the champagne bottles for new players. One of the ways casinos do this is by offering free games and cash once you sign up.

We even have no-deposit casinos where you get a chance to win cash without depositing a single coin. As a new player, you should take advantage of such offers. However, before taking advantage of the welcome bonus, you should read the terms and conditions set by the casino. Most casinos will require you to wager the free introductory cash before you can withdraw. Others have strict guidelines to keep away.

As a regular player, you should take advantage of the loyalty program at your casino to increase your chances of winning.  It is always a good idea to browse other casino sites and see where there are opportunities you can take advantage of without risking too much of your money.

Customer Support

One of the most important things to look out for is the kind of support offered to players. This means that an online casino should prove that it deserves your time and money. There should be a dedicated customer support team that responds to your queries promptly and at whatever time you need support. The casino staff should be polite as well as professional.

Furthermore, the casino should have several ways in which you can contact them. Some popular ways to contact the casino are email, phone, and, chats. Since online casino customers are from all over the world, the staff needs to be proficient in the languages used by their customers.  Lastly, look for a casino that has a program in place to prevent addiction to gambling.

Withdrawals and Deposits

Variety, they say, is the spice of life. There are numerous ways that people use to carry out financial transactions. A good casino will try to include as many ways as possible for their customers to fund their casino accounts as well as make withdrawals.  Credit and debit cards, eWallets, and bank transfers are some of the methods available for casino customers. Some casinos will even accept cryptocurrency.

Some payment options do not require providing the casino with your personal information and data. This payment option could be attractive to players who are not comfortable sharing their banking information with a third party.

Whereas convenience is important in choosing a method to carry out transactions at an online casino, attention should also be paid to security. A good casino will have the latest encryption software in place to protect customers’ money and personal information. If speedy payouts are attractive to you, you should also choose a casino that prides itself on paying winnings fast.

Focus on Familiar Games

With the wide array of online games, getting seduced to try out new games can end in you losing money. The best way to win is to play the games you are familiar with. If you want to play a new game that you are not familiar with, first play the free/demo version of the game. Having a few select games you play is a better option than jumping from one new game to another.

There are some games where the RTP (Return To Player) rate is low. Playing such a game will mean remaining on a losing streak. You can opt to check casinos and games with a high RTP from casino review sites. As a new player,

Avoid Fast-Paced Games

Some slot games have a turbo button feature.  Activating this feature means the reels spin faster and take less time. The result is you risk losing money faster if you are on a losing streak.  Some tournaments also encourage players to compete against each other by rewarding players who play the highest number of times. Getting caught up in the excitement of the competition could see you overshoot your betting limit.

Mobile Option

With the growth of mobile telephony, casinos online now ply their trade on smartphones and other mobile devices. If you are the type of player who finds playing while on the go, look for a casino that offers mobile phone services.

Conclusion

Ultimately, getting the best casino sites online depends on the type of casino you decide to play in. Only go for a secure and regulated online casino. This will require research. Once you have read reviews from credible websites, you can then take advantage of any promotional bonus the casino has. Be sure to fund your casino account with your preferred financial deposit and withdrawal method.

Your personality will go hand in hand with the casino you choose. Only choose online casino sites that meet your gambling needs. After all, the aim of gaming should be to have fun while also getting a chance to make some money. After going through this checklist, you should find a casino that scores highly in those two areas. Best of luck as you place your bets.

The incident occurred during the final 28 laps at Sonoma, where Larson had just exited pit road following a green flag pit stop and was making his way through Turns 1 and 2 when the right-front wheel came off of the No. 5 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. Despite going off course through Turns 3 and 3A, Larson managed to limp his car back to pit road and went on to finish 15th of the 36-car field in an event where he started on pole position, leading the first 26 of 110 laps and won the first stage.

The loose wheel penalty that occurred on the course, however, was enough for Daniels along with crew members Brandon Johnson and Donnie Tasser to be suspended for the following four Cup events, beginning at Nashville Superspeedway on June 26 followed by Road America on July 3, Atlanta Motor Speedway on July 10 and New Hampshire Motor Speedway on July 17. Following the penalty report, Hendrick Motorsports has elected to not appeal the penalty and will announce Larson’s interim crew chief for the following four events at a later date.

This marks the 10th time through the first 16 scheduled events where a Cup Series team was penalized with a four-race suspension of a crew chief and select pit crew members due to a lost wheel coming off of a car during an event. The most recent incident of a lost wheel occurred at Kansas Speedway in May when Kaulig Racing crew chief Trent Owens along with rear-tire changer Jonpatrick Kealey and Jackman Marshall McFadden were suspended for four events, including the All-Star Race at Texas Motor Speedway in May and this past weekend at Sonoma, due to a wheel that detached off of driver Justin Haley’s No. 31 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 that was exiting the pit stall. Currently, Haley’s team remains the only one that has been penalized twice for a lost wheel. Their first incident occurred during this year’s 64th running of the Daytona 500, where Owens, McFadden and front tire changer Jacob Nelson were all suspended for the following four events. Owens is scheduled to make his return atop the pit box at Nashville.

Other driver-team duos that have been penalized for a loose wheel infraction include Kaz Grala for The Money Team Racing during the 64th running of the Daytona 500 in February, rookie Todd Gilliland for Front Row Motorsports at Auto Club Speedway in February, Corey LaJoie for Spire Motorsports at Phoenix Raceway in March, Bubba Wallace for 23XI Racing at Circuit of the Americas in March, BJ McLeod for Live Fast Motorsports at Talladega Superspeedway in April, Denny Hamlin for Joe Gibbs Racing at Dover Motor Speedway in May and AJ Allmendinger for Kaulig Racing that also occurred at Dover.

Another team that was issued a penalty following last weekend’s event at Sonoma was the No. 51 Rick Ware Racing Ford Mustang team that was piloted by Cody Ware. The team was penalized 20 Cup driver and owner points following four pre-qualifying inspection failures, which sent Ware to the rear of the field and resulted with him serving a mandatory pass-through penalty through pit road following the start of the event. The team’s engineer Steve Gray was also suspended for the duration of the Sonoma weekend. Ware went on to finish 32nd and a lap down behind the leaders.

The 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season enters a one-week break period before returning to action at Nashville Superspeedway on June 26. Coverage for the event is scheduled to commence at 5 p.m. ET on NBC.

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Overview:

Location: Knoxville (Iowa) Raceway (Half-mile dirt-oval)
Date/Broadcast: June 18, 2022, at 9 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR 90

Neme’chek’ the Facts:

After an eighth-place finish at Sonoma (Calif.) Raceway last Saturday, John Hunter Nemechek and the No. 4 Mobil 1 team return to action Saturday night for the second running of the Clean Harbors 150 at Knoxville (Iowa) Raceway. In last year’s inaugural event, Nemechek was forced to start at the rear of the field and drove to an 11th-place finish.

With four races remaining in the regular season, Nemechek currently sits fourth in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series standings, just 14 points back of ThorSport Racing driver Ben Rhodes in first. Nemechek leads the NASCAR Truck Series regulars in poles (four), average starting position (6.7), and average running position (8.431). He is also second in driver rating (102.7) and third in laps led (171) and fastest laps run (81).

The 25-year-old driver will be making his ninth career start on a dirt track in Camping World Truck Series action. Nemechek has previously made five starts at Eldora (Ohio) Speedway, two at Bristol Dirt, and one at Knoxville. In his first eight starts, he has tallied 12 laps led, two top-five and five top-10 finishes resulting in an average finish of 12.8. His best result on dirt recently came in the Pinty’s Truck Race on Dirt at Bristol where he secured a third-place finish.

Nemechek is a 12-time winner in Camping World Truck Series action, winning at least one race each season from 2015 to 2018 for his family-owned team, NEMCO Motorsports, and returning to victory lane in 2021 and 2022 with KBM. Across 136 career starts in NASCAR’s third division, he has compiled six poles, 1,352 laps led, 45 top-five and 74 top-10 finishes resulting in an average finish of 12.5.

Eric Phillips returned to lead the No. 4 team in 2022. His 42 career Truck Series victories make him the winningest crew chief in Truck Series history, with 33 of those coming while at KBM including five last year. Phillips led the No. 18 team at KBM in its debut season in 2010 and helped build the organization into one of the premier teams in all of NASCAR before departing at the end of the 2014 season. Under his guidance, the No. 18 team won eight races in its inaugural campaign and became the first team in Truck Series history to capture an owner’s championship in its first season of competition. In 2014, the Illinois native led the No. 51 team to an owner’s championship and his team’s 10 wins spearheaded KBM to a single-season Truck Series record of 14 wins. Phillips has been atop the box for just four starts at dirt tracks in Camping World Truck Series action. In those four starts, his drivers have tallied one pole, 24 laps led, one top-five and one top-10 finish resulting in an average finish of 20.5. His best result was Nemechek’s third-place finish earlier this year on the dirt at Bristol.

The world’s leading synthetic motor oil, Mobil 1, will adorn the hood of the No. 4 Tundra TRD Pro this Saturday at Knoxville Raceway. Mobil 1 returns as the primary sponsor of Nemechek’s Toyota for three more races in 2022; June 24 at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway, July 9 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, and Oct. 1 at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway.

John Hunter Nemechek, Driver Q&A:
John Hunter Nemechek | Knoxville Raceway Preview
How different is it racing at Knoxville compared to Bristol Dirt?
“It is, Knoxville being flat and not having a lot of banking. Bristol, they did a very good job with the track prep. You were able to run the bottom, the middle, all the way up to the fence. I’m not sure how Knoxville will play out, last year it was one lane right around the bottom and if you were on the outside, it wasn’t good. Hopefully we do a little bit better with the track prep this year and can run multiple lanes, I know the World of Outlaws ran there this past weekend and they put on a good show being able to run the bottom all the way up to the fence. So, we’ll see what happens, looking forward to getting back dirt racing and chasing another victory.”

Do you feel with how the track races that it will be another super aggressive race this weekend?
“Yeah, I feel like Knoxville is definitely going to be a super aggressive race. I feel like the biggest thing for us is just trying to stay in the right mindset and not get flustered. It’s not if you’re going to get run into, it’s when, so just trying to keep that mindset, not get flustered in the moment and take yourself out of contention by trying to make a move too early or whatever it may be. So, just have to be smart, race our race and salvage the best finish that we can.”

Does having Buddy Kofoid as a teammate this weekend help at all with going to race a dirt track?
“I think having Buddy the Dirt Driver with us this weekend is definitely going to be good to just have a different perspective. Having Brian Brown there last year, he doesn’t have a lot of stock car experience, kind of like Buddy, but you can pick their brain about the dirt, how the track is going to change, and what the track is going to do in terms of rubbering up or staying wet and tacky. We have two practice sessions on Friday so definitely going to be interested to see how the track changes. It changed a lot last year in those two practices and was completely different when we went back on Saturday for the race, so just have to stay on top of it and know what to do and how to make adjustments inside the race car with my hands and feet and pedals and everything else to try and get the truck to turn or not break rear traction depending on the conditions of the racetrack. Being able to lean a lot on those guys for that information is very important.”
