ROCZEN AND ANSTIE WIN WORLD SUPERCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON OPENER AT BUENOS AIRES CITY GP

Buenos Aires, Argentina, 10th November 2025: The 2025 FIM World Supercross Championship roared to life at the Oscar & Juan Gálvez Racetrack in Buenos Aires, delivering a thrilling start to the new season in front of a packed Argentine crowd. Both the SX1 and SX2 classes saw commanding performances from two of the sport’s elite riders – Ken Roczen and Max Anstie – while rising star Haiden Deegan electrified fans with a breakout debut.

Superpole: Roczen and Anstie Set the Benchmark

The action began with a fierce Superpole session, where the top contenders set the tone for the night ahead.

In SX1, Ken Roczen clocked a blistering 53.384 seconds, securing Superpole ahead of Justin Cooper (53.842s). In SX2, Max Anstie led the charge with a 54.472 second lap, edging out Michael Hicks (54.760s) and Cole Thompson (54.892). The performances underscored both riders’ championship intentions and set up a night of high-intensity racing under the Buenos Aires lights.

SX1: Roczen Claims His Throne, Deegan Steals the Crowd

In the SX1 class, Ken Roczen put on a masterclass of control and composure. Overcoming recent illness, the Pipes Motorsport Group rider swept all three motos to claim a perfect start to his title defence.

Roczen said: “I feel like I rode really well. With the track and the moisture, there’s a fine line between pushing for speed and sliding out and making mistakes. I had fun out there! I thought the track was awesome and I had an incredible night! It happens so quick in the whoops because of the moisture. But man, I had fun out there! Behind him, Justin Cooper impressed with consistency to secure second overall. But it was Haiden Deegan, the young American wildcard, who captured the crowd’s imagination. Despite battling clutch issues and a poor gate pick, Deegan powered through to a third-place finish – his first World Supercross podium.

Deegan said: “I’m still getting used to this bike, so I’m just learning and progressing every time I get out there. We’re giving it all we’ve got. The crowd was insane. I love Argentina! I’ve dreamed of racing against Ken since I was a little kid. I have photos of me in the grandstands, and I had his jersey in my room. So just being on the same track with these guys is a huge accomplishment for me, my team, and my family.”

SX2: Anstie Unstoppable in Return to Form

In the SX2, Max Anstie delivered a flawless performance to take the overall win. Returning from an early-season leg injury, the British rider showed no signs of rust as he topped every session – fastest in practice, Superpole winner, and victor of all three races.

Anstie said: “Every time I come here – I’ve been here for a couple of MXGPs back in the day – and man, the fans in Argentina are the best in the world. So thank you – it was a great night.”

How would you describe the conclusion of the 2025 season heading into the finale in Pomona?

“Myself and the Top Fuel team were hoping we would be in a position to race for the World Championship at the end of the season. But, the goal at the beginning of the season was to just see the needle move in the right direction. So, to win two races and win the regular season championship and even have an opportunity to race for the World Championship was moving the right direction. I’m proud of what the team has done this year and proud of the moves we’ve all made. I’m definitely looking forward to getting Leah (Pruett) back in the TSR Top Fuel car next year and I’m excited about getting ready to run for Elite Motorsports and being in their Top Fuel car. On the Funny Car side, I’m extremely proud of Mike Knudsen (crew chief) and Phil Schuler (co-crew chief) and what they’ve done. It was a massive change in the program from last year with a new crew chief change and co-crew chief change. Seeing what those guys have been able to do this season and still having a shot at winning the World Championship at Pomona is great. Not to mention, growing our family with Dominic has made for an awesome year. To sit there and think of a year ago when we went to Pomona for the finale and didn’t even know if I was going to be coming back on race day. Here we are year later and Dominic’s a year old and to have the experience at the racetrack with him this season was something that we can’t even put into words. You can’t plan ahead and think about what it’s going to feel like, you just have to live it and experience it. Having your son grow and be at the racetrack every weekend just added to the experience, so this year has been amazing.”

How would you describe the conclusion of the 2025 season heading into the finale in Pomona?

“The season has been even better than I expected having a new crew chief making the calls and new decisions. Having an opportunity to win the World Championship in Pomona is huge. We’ve been second in points for a lot of the Countdown and that’s been really impressive. It’s great that we’ve been able to win three races this year. Expectations are always high because we have sponsors that pay a lot of money every weekend to be on our race cars and get exposure. We also have to consider that there is a learning phase to what we do out here. I’m really impressed with Mike Knudsen, Phil Shuler, Alex Conaway and all the guys we have working on the car. It’s exciting to see what the future holds after having such a great first season together.”

What would it mean to earn your fifth Funny Car World Championship?

“To be in contention for a fifth Funny Car World Championship is huge. It would put me in a class with John Force, Kenny Bernstein and Don Prudhomme. It’s unbelievable and it’s going to come down to me and the kid (Austin Prock) this next race. All we can do is show up and try to win the race and hope for the best. To have a shot at it and know it’s points and a half at Pomona is exciting. We can’t ask for much more. We have a lot of growing left to do, but it’s been a very promising season. Winning five would be amazing and that is my goal before I walk away from my career out here. It puts you in a group with elite drivers. We’ll do what we can and it’s exciting to see how the cards will fall.”

Repeat Race Winners Reign Supreme at the 11th Annual HSR Daytona Classic 24 Hour Presented by Mission Foods

Iconic Racing Secures HSR Daytona Classic 24 Run Groups A, D and F “Triple Sweep” with Victories with the Team’s 1969 Lola T70 Mk III, 2000 Dodge Viper GTS-R and 2019 Cadillac DPi

DAYTONA BEACH, Florida (November 9, 2025) – The inaugural season of the HSR Classic Endurance Championship presented by Mission Foods came to a colorful and competitive conclusion Saturday and Sunday at Daytona International Speedway (DIS) with the successful 11th running of the HSR Daytona Classic 24 Hour presented by Mission Foods. Five full days of on-track action culminated with the HSR Daytona Classic 24-hour twice-around-the-clock race from Saturday at 2 p.m. until just before the same hour today.

The longest and oldest race on the HSR Classic Endurance Championship presented by Mission Foods schedule, the HSR Daytona Classic 24 Hour featured Run Groups A through G competing in succession – with Groups C and D sharing the track – for a full 24 hours on the iconic DIS road course. Each of the six Run Group overall winners were presented with B.R.M. Chronographes “The Kube” Black Engraved Desk Clocks after the final checkered flags waved throughout Sunday morning and early afternoon.

The weekend’s main headline was written by European-based Iconic Racing that added to the team’s already stellar “HSR Classic” win record with its first triple-sweep of victories in the 11th HSR Daytona Classic 24. The impressive first-place haul was anchored by the duo of Gérard Lopez and former World Endurance Champion Marcel Fässler, who combined to win both Run Group A and F for the second time at the HSR Daytona Classic in the past three years.

The Group A triumph was a triple-sweep of its own as Lopez and Fassler won for the third-straight year at Daytona in the white, red and blue 1969 Lola T70 MkII to remain undefeated in Group A at the “World Center of Racing.” The only thing that has changed on the Lola is its car number, which is now No. 27 after carrying No. 60 the first two years.

The first Lola win in 2023 was secured by Lopez and Fassler in addition to a victory in Run Group F in an ex-JDC Motorsports 2019 No. 5 Cadillac DPi, the same car the Iconic team and drivers drove to another win in the division this weekend.

The competition in Group F was a bit more intense than Group A this weekend as Lopez and Fassler once again battled with the similar Cadillac DPi entries of Mission Foods and Juan Gonzalez and Matador Motorsports and Pierce Marshall. The Cadillac trio also clashed earlier this year in the HSR Watkins Glen Classic 6 Hour where the No. 5 team and drivers also prevailed over the Mission Foods and Matador entries.

This weekend, it was Gonzalez, his nephew Roberto Gonzalez and three-time Rolex 24 At Daytona winner Butch Leitzinger that garnered runner-up honors in the 2017 No. 81 Mission Foods/GMT Racing Cadillac DPi. The always-competitive winning duo of Marshall, his coach and co-driver Eric Foss and the Matador Motorsports 2017 No. 02 Cadillac DPi took third-place honors.

Iconic’s third victory was delivered by Florent Moulin, who won his first HSR Classic race in this decade in his 2000 No. 92 Dodge Viper GTS-R. Moulin, Iconic and Art and Revs brought the pristine Viper back to Daytona 25 years after the car finished fifth in the inaugural Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series Rolex 24 At Daytona in 2000.

In Run Group B, Todd Treffert combined the great pace he has shown all year, and the unfortunate retirements of his top competitors, to comfortably secure his third HSR Classic group victory in four attempts this season. As he did in the season-opening HSR Classic Sebring 12 Hour last March and in September at the inaugural HSR Classic Road Atlanta 10 Hour, Treffert took control of the Classic 24 by the halfway point despite a quick Camaro and a pair of fast Chevrons that ran on pace with Treffert’s sharp 1974 No. 41 Porsche 911 Carrera Cup RSR “Baby” Turbo prepared by the 901 Shop. After the Camaro and the Chevrons all retired, Treffert cruised to a comfortable one-lap lead over the second-place finisher.

The race’s most commanding victory was turned in by Owen Trinkler who was given the keys to the Gil West 2019 No. 911 Porsche 991.2 GT3 R in Run Group E. Trinkler swept all four segments, and led virtually every race lap, in the Vintage Racing Company prepared Porsche to take the victory by 21.292 seconds over the second-place Autometrics 2016 No. 515 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Cory Friedman.

Run Group G joined Group E in delivering a flat-out and furious battle between mega amounts of GT Modern cars and competitors that are now eligible in the recently announced Mission Foods GT Challenge. The winners, who emerged from a tight pack of leading front runners, were the British duo of Mike Jordan and his son Andrew Jordan who won by less than a minute in their Jordan Racing Team 2010 No. 77 Porsche 997.2 GT3 Cup. The Jordans first won in HSR Classic 24 competition at Daytona in 2023.

The weekend’s final Run Group winner was the 1985 No. 75 Porsche 962 of Preston Brown and Denis Dupont who co-drove to Group C honors. The victory was mainly uncontested, but the No. 75 team and drivers never quit racing and made it to victory lane with the similarly Jagermeister-adorned 1979 No. 52 Porsche 935 K3 of Dr. Mike Smith, who took Group C GT class honors.

Dr. Smith also played a major role in one of the weekend’s top off-track highlights. In HSR Classic Daytona 24 Hour pre-race ceremonies, a special presentation was made by popular Italian driver Max Papis on behalf of his company MPI™ Inc., the leading motorsports steering wheel manufacturer and the “Official Steering Wheel Supplier of HSR.” Part of MPI’s vast HSR support is the new MPI Performance & Passion Award, which is an honor bestowed on the competitor in the HSR Classic Daytona 24 demonstrating the best “heart, hustle and horsepower” throughout the oldest HSR Classic Endurance Championship presented by Mission Foods race.

The selection committee chose Dr. Smith as a worthy recipient who, not surprisingly, the outgoing and gregarious Papis knows well. Dr. Smith has fielded his pristine collection of Porsche 935s in the HSR Classic 24 since the inaugural event in 2014. The stable includes a Martini Porsche 935 and both the Blue Coral and Jagermeister Porsche 935 K3s. Dr. Smith is a chiropractor by trade and connected with Papis early on when “Mad Max” left no stone unturned in researching even the proper placement and ergonomics of steering wheel design and positioning and how it relates to driver posture. HSR President John Doonan joined both Smith and Papis for the presentation.

Another podium sweep in this weekend’s Classic 24 included the quick trio of 50-plus years old Porsche 911 S/T entries from the 901 Shop that swept GT in Run Group A. David Agretelis garnered another HSR Classic triumph and led his 901 teammates Robert Spence and Craig Watkins in the overall finishing order.

Next up on the HSR schedule is the season-ending HSR Sebring Pistons and Props, presented by the Alan Jay Automotive Network, December 4 – 7.

CONCORD, N.C., (Nov. 9, 2025) – Four nights of fierce racing and fireworks came to a close Saturday as the 2025 World of Outlaws World Finals brought the dirt-racing season to a thrilling conclusion at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.

When the dust settled, three champions stood tall as David Gravel (World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car), Bobby Pierce (World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Models) and Mat Williamson (Super DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds) each clinched 2025 championships in a dirt-slinging derby.

Gravel, who entered the night with the title already secured, there was no sign of the champ taking it easy. When the green flag dropped, chaos erupted — an opening-lap red flag reset the field before weather delays added to the drama. Each time the cars came back to life, Gravel rocketed out front, building nearly a two-second lead and leaving the field in his dust.

As the laps clicked off, Kofoid climbed fast. By Lap 12, the young California driver had the No. 2 spot in his sights. Then, in a stunning twist, the season champ’s night came undone as Gravel made contact with the Turn 2 wall on Lap 15, bringing out a red flag and ending his bid for one final win.

“Smooth Operator” Bobby Pierce continued his reign atop the World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series, officially clinching his second straight championship on Thursday night. With an 11-win season, Pierce not only secured back-to-back titles but also surpassed Jimmy Owens to claim the most World of Outlaws Late Model wins at Charlotte, solidifying his place at the top of the series and in track history.

The Oakwood, Illinois native had the championship essentially locked up all weekend, allowing him to focus on smart, calculated racing while leaning on his family, who play a key role in his team—most notably his dad and crew chief, who helped shape him into the champion he is today.

“It feels just awesome… I can’t thank my team enough and everybody that supports me,” Pierce said. “Whether it’s sponsors, fans, my family or crew friends, it’s a long season and we got’er done.”

While Pierce rallied mid-pack, the final World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Feature Race delivered a thrilling showdown. Hudson O’Neal started on the pole, but it was the No. 49 of Jonathan Davenport who shot out first, grabbing the lead as soon as the green flag dropped. Davenport set the pace for 29 laps until O’Neal powered through to take over the top spot.

The two went back and forth through heavy lap traffic, trading the lead and matching each other move for move. With six laps to go, Davenport made the pass for good, pulling back ahead and holding off O’Neal to finish the job. A hard-fought battle to the end, Davenport secured back-to-back wins at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in a caution-free, 50-lap thriller.

“MONEY” MAT CASHES IN

In the Super DIRTcar Series Big Block Modified finale, “Money” Mat Williamson took top honors, taking the checkered flag in Saturday night’s feature and securing the 2025 Super DIRTcar Series championship – his third career title.

Williamson, who sealed the deal on his 2025 series titles during Friday night’s feature, started deep in the pack at sixth in Saturday’s race but wasted no time taking advantage of six cautions and a smooth slide job through Lap 27 to pass “Kid Rocket” Alex Yankowski for the checkered flag.

It was only fitting that Williamson and Yankowski – who battled for series standings leader all season long – would duke it out for the final win of the season. Yankowski claimed the lead on Lap 18 after sneaking by race leader Felix Roy, who found the back bumper of Louden Reimert, calling for the third caution of the night. Roy rejoined at the rear while Yankowski and Tim Fuller took over in first and second.

By Lap 23, Williamson had worked his way up to third with each caution, sliding past Fuller to find himself staring into the bumper of Yankowski – the same rival who had been on his heels the last half of the season. In a story Yankowski has seen play out before, starting the season on top of the leaderboard before Williamson took the reins in July, Williamson passed Yankowski with thirteen laps remaining in the feature to earn his fifth win at the Dirt Track at Charlotte.

“I really did (want this win), this is such a cool event, there are so many great fans here, they weathered a lightning delay, two features that were full of yellows just a lot, to be able to put a show on here at the end was what I wanted to do for these fans and thankfully we could get it done,” Williamson said.

SAKHIR, Bahrain (November 9, 2025) – Cadillac Racing drivers Jack Aitken and Ricky Taylor sampled Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA Hypercars today during the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) Rookie Test.

While they are veterans in IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) competition, the two sessions on the 3.36-mile (5.412km), 15-turn Bahrain International Circuit provided opportunities to further understand differences in the racecars, learn about team operations and continue to develop cross-series lines of communication in Cadillac Racing’s “one team” approach.

“It’s nice to be a rookie again,” joked Aitken, who co-drove to two victories and placed second in the GTP Drivers’ Championship in the recently completed nine-race season.

The WEC Hypercars share the same LMDh platform – Dallara chassis and Cadillac purpose-built 5.5-liter DOHC V8 engine – as the GTP racecars they drive in IMSA, with technical differences.

Both drove Cadillac Racing Hypercars for their respective IMSA teams – Aitken with Action Express Racing and Taylor with Wayne Taylor Racing – in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June. “A season of some massive highs with the front row lockout at Le Mans and the first and second in Brazil,” JOTA Sport founder and director Sam Hignett said. “And great testament to Cadillac and to the team for the 12 to be the only Hypercar to score points in every race, so that’s something we should be really proud of. Good first year, good foundation to move forward on.”

The 2026 season begins March 28 at the Lusail International Circuit in Qatar with a 10-hour race.

Aitken and Taylor were recently confirmed as returning to their teams for the 2026 IMSA season. They are scheduled to participate in an IMSA-sanctioned test November 14-15 at Daytona International Speedway in preparation for the season-opening Rolex 24 At Daytona in January.

What they’re saying

Jack Aitken (29 laps morning session, 49 afternoon): “Probably the most interesting thigs is seeing a different philosophy of working. I think whenever you embed yourself with a new team from the one you’re familiar with you always see a slightly different style of race communication or the planning or execution. So, sampling that today was quite interesting. I think less of a difference with the car itself. There actually is a lot of crossover similarity and I felt familiar straight away in the car. On that side, we worked more on detail than anything major. We do these crossovers to learn as much as you can, but you have to be careful not to cherry pick too many things because everyone has their style and their way of working and it’s sometimes difficult to pick and choose bits of that and make it gel. Having said that, it was good to see how JOTA does things. It was a nice experience.”

Ricky Taylor (35 laps morning session, 54 afternoon): “I think any time you can drive the car is positive and you’re going to learn things, especially coming to join this team with the same car. We’re used to speaking that common GM language – how GM sets up the systems and controls and how our team interprets it and then how another team treats the same tools. And it’s interesting for me. I have notes to take back from the weekend and the team was really great to work with and it’s always really nice to be with them. In terms of experience and exposure, I think it’s nice to get a new perspective. This track is really strange. As much as everybody told me how weird it was going to be, it meets those expectations. We don’t really have a track like this in America, so taking bits of how the car behaves is kind of hard to translate. It’s not something completely different from what I’m used to. They have maybe a different way of working, different processes, so that’s nice to experience.”
