Kyle Busch Dominates the Fr8Auctions 200 at Atlanta Motor Speedway

HAMPTON, Ga. (March 20, 2021) – Kyle Busch dominated the last 30 laps and finished more than four seconds ahead of the field to win the Fr8Auctions 200 on Saturday at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

It was his 60th Camping World Series Truck race victory.

“It’s always cool to get back to victory lane,” Busch said. “And it’s good to see John Hunter come home with a top-3 today, too. Obviously him racing for a championship, that’s important.”

John Hunter Nemechek, as the standings leader, started on the pole. The 23-year-old was coming off a win in Las Vegas on March 5 where he held off his team owner, Busch. It set up another showdown between the two Toyotas in Atlanta.

At least until Busch began to pull away from the field in the final stage. Nemechek finished third.

“I was hoping to beat Kyle, but I didn’t have anything for him at the end,” Nemechek said with a little laugh.

Austin Hill also made a significant move down the stretch, carving his way up to second, but there was no overcoming the gap to Busch. The runner-up finish was Hill’s best of the season.

“That last restart we had, I was trying to save my tires a little bit,” Hill said. “I didn’t want to kill them right off the bat. I started matching Kyle’s lap times and we had the green-flag restarts and got out in second. The pit crew did an awesome job today, but I gave that gap up and I could never close it. I needed to be a little quicker.”

The Winston Ga., native, who wore a UGA mask for his post-race TV interview, lamented this being the lone AMS stop for the trucks this season. Only the Cup and Xfinity Series return in July for the track’s second weekend of the 2021.

“All in all, a solid day,” Hill said. “I love Atlanta Motor Speedway, my home track. Can’t thank the fans enough for coming out. It was awesome to have you guys back. I just wish we could have gotten the job done and wish we could come back. This is a fun place to run.”

Johnny Sauter was fourth and Sheldon Creed, the only Chevy among a slew of Toyotas at the top of the standings, was fifth.

Zane Smith, Ross Chastain, Matt Crafton, Brett Moffitt and Stewart Friesen rounded out the top 10. Crafton (2015) and Moffitt (2018) are former winners at Atlanta. The 2020 winner, Grant Enfinger, was 11th.

It was just the fourth race of the 2021 season. Ben Rhodes won the first two at Daytona, on the super speedway and then the road course, in February.

Fr8Auctions announced a new initiative with Our Motorsports and driver, Brett Moffitt

Fr8Auctions announced a new initiative with Our Motorsports and driver, Brett Moffitt, for today’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. If Moffit drives the No. 02 Fr8Auctions Chevrolet Camaro SS to victory lane at the Echo Park 250 race this afternoon, Fr8Auctions will make a $50,000 charitable donation to the Brave Like Wyatt Foundation, a Georgia-based 501(c)3 non-profit foundation that offers financial support to families of children listed for pediatric transplants and coordinates donation drives to benefit families who are inpatient at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Atlanta-based Fr8Auctions and owner Marcus Barela have been a major supporter of the Brave Like Wyatt Foundation since its inception last year.

“Brett (Moffitt) and Our Motorsports are off to a great start to the 2021 season and are knocking on the door for their first race win,” said Barela. “A career first Xfinity Series win today by Brett would be a big deal and help a lot of families in need.”

Moffitt is the only driver doing double duty today, driving in both the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series races at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

“It would be a great honor to win today for Fr8Auctions and Brave Like Wyatt in their home market,” said Moffitt. “The Our Motorsports No. 02 team continues to make great progress each week, so a win today would be doubly sweet.”

Learn How to Study Accounting From Home

Most students try to avoid math-centered courses as much as possible. This includes classes like accounting.

This is rather unfortunate because accounting can open you up to a wide range of lucrative careers and an enviable pay package to boot.

If you have taken the bold step of studying accounting and finding yourself learning from home, here are some tips to help you study effectively.

1. Determine the End Goal

You can study accounting to earn a Diploma or Degree or take a few subtopics at a time. If you want a Diploma or Degree, you need to enroll in a formal program.

This shouldn’t be too hard to do as numerous credible learning institutions offer online courses today.

If you are trying to learn piecemeal topics to aid in your budgeting or run your own business, you can take a less formal route.

2. Create a Schedule

Irrespective of your end goal, the best way to achieve anything is by creating and following a plan.

Studying in a formal school setting is advantageous in that there is a set study schedule. You know what time to attend lectures, what time to have your group work, and so on.

Learning from home is a bit more flexible and therefore lacks this benefit. This will call for you to be highly disciplined.

Sit down and create a study schedule and not just that, but ensure to stick to it even when you least feel like it.

3. Learn Systematically

Accounting, just like any math course, has a system to it. The curriculum is planned to move from essential topics and skills, and the difficulty level increases from there.

For this reason, the best way to study is by exhausting one topic entirely before moving on to the next. This creates the foundational knowledge required to learn and understand future topics.

To do this, find workbooks that have quizzes at the end of each subtopic. Once you are done with the study, attempt these questions and compare your answers to those provided. If you score well, you can move on to the next topic.

Complete All Assigned Works

This is especially important if you have taken a formal online program.

All quizzes, papers, and assignments are combined to come up with your final grade. This means that you lose marks on each assignment you skip.

Please make a point of not only attempting your assignments but giving them your best and submitting them on time. If you run short of time or cannot handle the assigned works, visit this website to get professional help.

Homework often has the benefit of time. You can research and fine-tune your work before handing it in. Exams lack this. Take advantage of this by aiming for the highest grades on assignments.

Identify Your Most Productive Hours

Studying from home means you have more destructions than people studying in a school setting. You have numerous entertainment forms at your disposal, unannounced guests, children, housework, work duties if you are employed, and so on.

While these are a challenge, you can find ways to work through them in a manner that allows you to study effectively.

One way to do this is by identifying your most productive times of day or night. With these in mind, schedule the most challenging learning tasks then. That means you can take your quizzes at your most productive times, then work on your accounting notes at other times.

Create a workspace that also supports study both mentally and physically.

About Woman’s History Month

Women’s History Month had its origins as a national celebration in 1981 when Congress passed Pub. L. 97-28 which authorized and requested the President to proclaim the week beginning March 7, 1982 as “Women’s History Week.” Throughout the next five years, Congress continued to pass joint resolutions designating a week in March as “Women’s History Week.” In 1987 after being petitioned by the National Women’s History Project, Congress passed Pub. L. 100-9 which designated the month of March 1987 as “Women’s History Month.” Between 1988 and 1994, Congress passed additional resolutions requesting and authorizing the President to proclaim March of each year as Women’s History Month. Since 1995, presidents have issued a series of annual proclamations designating the month of March as “Women’s History Month.” These proclamations celebrate the contributions women have made to the United States and recognize the specific achievements women have made over the course of American history in a variety of fields. “First off, I’m really happy to have FR8 Auctions back on board with me this weekend! This is a home race for them and they’ve been a longtime supporter of me and my career, so we want to do all we can to give them a good run this weekend. It’ll be a challenging day running both races back to back, but I’m sure I’ll be able to take a lot of knowledge from the Truck race to our Xfinity program. We’ve had some great runs and great cars this year and we want to get back into the top-5 and hopefully contend for a win.”

Blaine Perkins and the No.23 Raceline Wheels / Martin Truex Jr. Foundation team:

Driver Blaine Perkins:

“I’m really excited to head to Atlanta this weekend and be able to build off of what we had in Phoenix. It will be another learning experience for myself going to a 1.5-mile racetrack that has so much tire fall off, but I’ve been watching previous races to prepare myself for Saturday. I’m really grateful to have Raceline Wheels and the Martin Truex Jr Foundation onboard our #23 Our Motorsports Chevy again for this weekend’s race and am looking forward to getting them up front!”

Past Results at Atlanta for Our Motorsports:

Last year, Moffit piloted the No.02 in Atlanta. The team earned a 14th place finish in the June event after starting 13th.

Portland’s iconic Rose Cup Races returns this July to celebrate 60 years with a series of celebrations

PORTLAND, Ore—( March 16, 2021 )—Following an unprecedented one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Portland’s iconic Rose Cup Races has announced it will return this summer to celebrate 60 years of high-speed racing. The Rose Cup Races will take place July 9—11 at Portland International Raceway (PIR). Auto enthusiasts and their friends and family will enjoy seven different race groups—including a return of Karts—as well as special salutes to the cars, drivers, and stories compiled since 1961. Gates open at 7:30 a.m. daily, with cars on course by 9 a.m.; races run until late afternoon. Admission ranges from $5 to $30; tickets will go on sale later this spring at RoseCup.com.

Originally a Portland Rose Festival event and now presented by Friends of PIR, the Rose Cup Races was the first major event ever held at PIR in 1961 and has taken place annually ever since, with the exception of 2020. The event features amateur racing competitors from both the Oregon Region Sports Car Club of America and the Cascade Sports Car Club. This year offers seven race groups, including The Crossflow Cup, a series for Historic Formula Fords that features big fields and hard clean racing. The full lineup of race groups includes:

  • Big Bore FOPIR Rose Cup Feature Race: Large displacement engine cars like Corvettes, Camaros, Mustangs, Shelby GT350s, Cobras, and Porsches. Four classes within one race called RC1, RC2, RC3, and RC4, depending on performance level.
  • Vintage: A Rose Cup Races tradition with a wide variety of brands and iconic models that will have fans reminiscing about their favorite cars growing up.
  • Spec Racer Ford: Open cockpit identical sports racer cars powered by 1.6-liter Ford engines put the focus on the drivers in this highly competitive group, with multiple lead changes per lap a common occurrence.
  • Small Bore Production: Small displacement engine cars from Nissan, Honda, Ford, Austin Healy, Mazda, Alfa Romeo, MG, and more. Four classes within one race called SB1, SB2, SB3, and SB4 depending on the performance level.
  • Spec Miata: Famous for tight battles and finishes that are just inches apart, these Mazda Miatas are also in a fight for a season-long championship in the Northwest Spec Miata Tour.
  • Formula Ford: Formula Ford has been a class since the mid-1960s when it was a stepping stone for many Formula One drivers. Now it is one of the premier vintage racing groups, often with 30 or more beautifully prepared cars turning up at events. Many of the Formula Fords racing at the 2021 Rose Cup will be taking part in the Crossflow Cup series.
  • Karts: Rounding out the seventh race group is the Portland Karting Association. Road racing karts are super quick with very close racing and are the prime entry point for road racers’ careers around the world.

Fans can look forward to practice and qualifying on Friday, July 9; additional qualifying and races on Saturday, July 10; and a full day of featured races on Sunday, July 11. Bridge City Autosports will run an autocross all three days of the event in the north paddock, where fans can watch the thrill and adrenaline of pushing cars to their limits. Beyond racing, look for a visual display of Rose Cup Races history alongside a Vanport history exhibit; car club corrals; car club parades; and numerous vendors.

ADMISSION/PARKING

Admission costs $30 for a three-day ticket with inside parking. Single-day tickets run $5 for Friday, $10 for Saturday, and $15 for Sunday. Admission for children ages 12 and under is free when accompanied by a paying adult. Present and past members of the military receive free admission (with valid ID checked at the gate).

While the grandstands have reached their approved capacity for the weekend, fan experiences like infield camping, trackside camping, and Club One access are still available for purchase.

Sean Creech Motorsport Sets Sights on Sebring Podium

SEBRING, Fla. (19 March 2021) – In the second of two consecutive home races, the Sean Creech Motorsport (SCM) team managed rapidly changing conditions to put its No. 33 SCM Exelixis Ligier JS P320 into sixth position on the starting grid for Saturday’s 69th Annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring (Saturday, NBCSN, 10:00am ET).

Coming off a second-place finish in January’s Rolex 24 At Daytona, the SCM team is focused on reaching that top podium step at Sebring in the first points-paying event of the 2021 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Three practice sessions on Thursday gave drivers João Barbosa, Lance Willsey and Sebring first-timer Yann Clairay the chance to develop the race setup through the shifting conditions presented during morning, afternoon and night practice. The extreme heat that made track grip levels so difficult in practice was gone by Friday, as was the rain that had pummeled the track overnight.

With track and ambient temperatures in the low 70s, Willsey took the wheel for the 15-minute qualifying session. At the end of seven laps, he had set his quickest lap time of the weekend at 1:58.991 and placed the No. 33 Ligier sixth on the starting grid. Preparing for only his second 12-hour race at Sebring, Willsey felt that the car the team put on the track today is ready to go the distance.

“The car is very easy to drive and very consistent,” said Willsey. “That said, I take no pride in qualifying sixth! But we tried a lot of things yesterday and amalgamated the things that worked, so we have a really good car going into the race. I have the upmost faith in my co-drivers so I’m confident we’ll be able to fight for the front.

“But this race places just as great of an emphasis on the crew as the driver. The track is very demanding on the car, with all the surface transitions and different types of corners. We ask a lot of the car, so setup makes all the difference. If the car can’t make it 12 hours, or is hard to drive, that’s your race. So good crew, engineer and strategist calls are vital. For the drivers, we have to be smart and manage the calculated risks. You have to make the right calls and execute them perfectly, because anything less than perfection here is trouble.”

As a two-time Sebring 12 Hour winner (2012, 2015), Barbosa knows exactly what it takes to win the grueling endurance classic.

“It’s the same mentality as Daytona: survive the first hours of the race,” said Barbosa. “Sebring is much tighter than Daytona, so there are fewer opportunities to overtake, which means there is more risk involved in traffic. It’s also important to have a car that works well in the heat of the day but even better at night, so that’s one of the major challenges we have ahead of us. But staying out of trouble will be the priority for everybody.”

Clairay completed his first laps on the 3.74-mile Sebring circuit on Thursday, but feels that he is ready for the task ahead.

“It’s a crazy track!” said Clairay. “Very different from tracks in Europe, with the pavement changes. But I’m happy with my times. It’s a good car for me, so I just need a few more laps to be completely comfortable. I’ve got the reference points down after yesterday’s practice sessions. It’s a long race, and this is a very physical track, so having a comfortable car under you is very important. Key will be to keep the car on the track and make no mistakes.”

For team principal Sean Creech, whose team won the IMSA Prototype Challenge race at Sebring last weekend in the LMP3-2 class, having a car comfortable to drive was the first order of business.

“It went well,” said Creech. “Lance drove his quickest lap of the weekend and the car was more comfortable to drive. We’ll try a few more changes for morning warm up, just to try a few things, but as Lance said at the end of the session, it’s a good car. It gives the drivers plenty of confidence to go out there for 12 hours.”
