Season-Opening Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) Spring Fling Returns to Sebring International Raceway, March 31 – April 2

  • Tickets on Sale and Entries Open for HSR 2021 Season-Opening Event at Sebring International Raceway

  • Special Wednesday to Friday Event Schedule Allows Competitors and Fans to be Home Easter Weekend Holiday

SEBRING, Florida (January March 3, 2021) – The 2021 Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) season begins just under 30 days from now with the HSR Spring Fling at Sebring International Raceway, March 31 – April 2, and the growing entry list for the race already features many top HSR competitors and their priceless race cars.

This year’s Spring Fling dates have been slightly adjusted to a Wednesday, March 31 through Friday, April 2 format that allows competitors and fans alike the opportunity to get in a full HSR event and still be home for the Easter Weekend Holiday.

The HSR Spring Fling includes the first 2021 rounds of the B.R.M. Chronographes Endurance Challenge in a special Friday doubleheader schedule. The one hour Vintage and GT Classic (GTC) B.R.M. Endurance Challenge kicks Friday’s schedule off at 8:30 a.m. EST. The opening race will be followed by the Historic, Prototype and GT Modern (GTM) 60-minute endurance challenge that afternoon at 1 p.m. EST.

The WeatherTech Sprint Series is another highlight of the HSR Spring Fling schedule with the usual twin race lineup bolstered by a third bonus race on Friday. After Thursday’s first round of WeatherTech Sprints, two more races will be run for all Groups on Friday.

The packed HSR Spring Fling schedule also includes back-to-back feature races closing out Thursday’s on-track activity. The popular Sasco Sports International/American Challenge race goes green Thursday at 3:30 p.m. EST and will be followed at 4 p.m. EST by the equally exciting HSR Stoner Car Care Global GT race.

A must-see race car of note confirmed to return to Sebring is the always awe-inspiring 2005 No. 2 Audi R8 LMP of Travis Engen (pictured at top). A prime example of the Audis that anchored the manufacturer’s dominating LMP1 dynasty, Engen has driven his GMT Racing-prepared R8 prototype to many HSR victories at Sebring.

Fans of big bore Detroit iron will be drawn to the fast and loud 1970 No. 9 Ford Mustang Boss 302 entered by Carlus Gann and Vintage Race Car Restorations (pictured above). The Trans-Am styled Mustang has been driven to several HSR victories in recent years, including a 2019 Sasco Sports overall and American class victory at Barber Motorsports Park in the hands of Motorsports Hall of Famer Bill Elliott. Dennis Olthoff also wheeled the mighty Mustang to an overall Sasco victory at Sebring in December of 2019 while Gann himself is very quick at wheel of the fast Ford.

Robert Blain has twice earned Run Group or prototype class overall victories in the HSR Classic Daytona presented by IMSA classic 24-hour race in his 1975 No. 8 March 75S (pictured above). He brings the unique British built sports racer to Sebring for the Spring Fling at the end of the month along with a 2004 Corvette C6.R GT1 machine.

A more contemporary race car headed to Sebring that is always a fan favorite, particularly of the kids, is the No. 19 2003 BMW M3 (pictured below) better known as “Pinky.” Part of the championship-winning arsenal of BMWs from the Orlando, Florida-based racing team Automatic Racing, Pinky was raced in her prime in the top-tier Grand Sport (GS) in the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge series. Automatic team owner David Russell held on to Pinky after she was retired from active competition and campaigned the bright BMW in vintage and historic events in the Southeast for more than a decade. Russell recently sold the BMW to friend and frequent HSR Classic Daytona 24 Hour co-driver Dick York who will compete at the Spring Fling with Pinky prepared by Heritage Motorsports.

Competitor entries are open and spectator tickets are on sale for the HSR Spring Fling, which is the first of HSR’s annual pair of races on the legendary Sebring International Raceway circuit in 2021. Nine months from now, the HSR racing year once again concludes with the season-ending HSR Classic Sebring 12 Hour and Sebring Historics, December 1 – 5.

Competitor event entry forms – early entry discount deadline is March 17 – and additional information is available at the official HSR Spring Fling event page at www.HSRRace.com.

A variety ticket options, from daily admission on up to RV Parking, are available at www.HSRTickets.com. Online sales end March 26 and any tickets purchased after March 24 will be held in Will Call for pickup at Sebring International Raceway. At event ticket sales begin at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 31st.

The HSR Spring Fling is the lead-in event for the 43rd HSR Mitty, Round 2 on the 2021 HSR Schedule, which takes place at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, April 21 – 25.

About HSR: Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) was formed in the mid-1970s with an event at Road Atlanta. There was one goal then and it remains true today: to celebrate the race cars from the past. As a “time machine” of sights and sounds, HSR provides a venue for competitors and spectators alike to share in the wonderful history and excitement created by the cars that competed at race tracks around the world. HSR currently sanctions eight vintage and historic racing events at some of the world’s most renowned race tracks, including Road Atlanta, Sebring International Raceway, Daytona International Speedway and more. The complete schedule and full event information can be found on HSR’s website at www.HSRRace.com. Look for the HSR Channel on YouTube and follow HSR on Facebook at www.Facebook.com/HSRrace/ and on Twitter and Instagram at @HSR_race. 3 Tips For Party Bus Hire Brisbane

Whether you’re organizing a birthday party or planning a festive event with friends and family, a party bus hire can be fun and luxurious for big groups during parties, weddings, or other special occasions. Most party buses come equipped with several amenities that are ideal for turning your traditional celebration into a spectacular party on wheels.

Furthermore, party bus hires are affordable and can add great excitement to your celebration. However, to ensure that you make the most out of your party bus hire, it’s essential to find the right transport.

In this article, we’ll discuss the top three tips for a party bus hire.

  1. Find A Bus Fit For A Party

While hiring a party bus, one of the most important things you need to look into is if the interiors are well-done and party-ready. A well-equipped party bus should have spacious interiors and sufficient legroom and headroom. Consider the size of the bus while hiring. You want to make sure that there’s enough space for all your guests on board.

Before finalizing on a party bus, make sure that the party bus is equipped with the right type of entertainment you may need. For example, if you’re going for a relaxed road trip with the family, you may have different requirements as with a night-long party with friends. For a party bus hire Brisbane, you can search online or ask around for recommendations.

  1. Plan Your Party

Many companies may require information about your event to customize the decorations. While planning your party, consider the number of guests invited, how many hours you’ll be on the bus, and the other amenities you may require.

If you’re looking for a luxurious experience, consider choosing a vehicle that comes equipped with a custom bar, stereo sound system, and LCD TVs. These party buses may allow you to bring alcohol and food for your party. This gives you a chance to curate your party bus according to your requirements, making it fun and luxurious for your guests.

To ensure that you don’t face any inconvenience while hiring a party bus, book your vehicle way ahead of the actual event, as party buses are often booked during the peak seasons.

Furthermore, you can make your event more memorable by setting up a bar and getting food on board. Many party bus rentals offer complementary bottles, glasses, and water, helping you turn your event into a memorable moment.

If partying on wheels isn’t your thing as you actually want to go places, you can opt for winery tours Brisbane that would open you up to the world of vineyards and spirits.

  1. Hire From A Reputed Company

Hiring a party bus from the right company can make your overall experience smooth and fun. Not all party bus companies may have the same amenities. While some companies may offer old vehicles that don’t have updated facilities, some reputed brands may have packages that allow you to customize your event and provide you with a party bus that’s fully equipped with the latest amenities.

Ensure that you hire a vehicle from a reputable rental company with a fleet of party buses with modern amenities. Also, ensure that the company is registered with the local transport department and that the chauffeurs employed have a valid drivers’ license.

Conclusion

A party bus can be an ideal transportation mode to ensure that you and your friends have a great experience. A party bus that’s fitted with all the modern facilities and has been customized to the event’s needs is ideal for ensuring that everyone has a good time.

Matt Wood Racing, Shane Golobic partner with Live Fast for Bristol Dirt

MATT WOOD RACING, SHANE GOLOBIC ENTER BRISTOL DIRT RACE WITH LIVE FAST

Sprint Car veteran, Shane Golobic, to make his first NASCAR Cup Series start

MOORESVILLE, NC – (March 3, 2021) – As NASCAR Cup Series teams travel to Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend for the fourth points race of the season, Matt Wood announced that he’s betting on his veteran sprint car driver, Shane Golobic, when the series takes to the dirt at Bristol Motor Speedway later this month.

Matt Wood Racing has partnered with NASCAR Charter Team, Live Fast Motorsports, to enter Golobic in the Food City Dirt Race on Sunday, March 28th. The event will be the first time that the NASCAR Cup Series has raced on dirt since 1970. Although racing on dirt will be new for a lot of the drivers entered in the race, dirt racing veteran, Golobic, sees it as another opportunity to continue building on his already impressive career, this time in one of NASCAR’s most highly anticipated events of the year.

“I believe every racer has dreamed of the opportunity to race in the NASCAR Cup Series, and the fact that it’s going to happen on dirt at Bristol Motor Speedway only makes it sweeter,” Golobic said. “This opportunity honestly fell into our lap out of nowhere, and it’s something you just can’t pass up. I am so thankful for everyone involved in making this happen, as well as everyone who has had a hand in helping me get to this point in my career. I hope to represent all of our supporters to the best of my ability, and I can’t wait to see what we can do on the dirt at Bristol!”

Matt Wood, President of Matt Wood Racing & Promotions, echoed Golobic’s comments. “Sometimes something falls in your lap that’s just too good to be true,” Wood said. “Partnering with Matt Tifft and BJ McLeod of Live Fast Motorsports to run Shane in the NASCAR Cup Series is one of those deals. I think it’s every person’s dream that’s ever owned a race team to be a part of a NASCAR Cup race. This is definitely one of those items you put in your bucket that you think you will never check off the list.”

“We are thrilled to have Shane Golobic join Live Fast Motorsports at the Bristol dirt race,” Matt Tifft, co-owner of Live Fast Motorsports said. “This is such a historic event for the Cup cars to race on dirt once again and for the first time at Bristol. We couldn’t have thought of anyone better to join our team with all of Shane’s background in the dirt racing world, and we can’t wait to see the show that he and the NASCAR Cup Series puts on in just a few weeks.”

Golobic, a 29 year-old Fremont, California native, is an accomplished winged/non-winged sprint car and midget racer with 83 career feature wins. Dirt racing fans are used to seeing his No. 17w NOS Energy Drink sponsored car up front and in Victory Lane at tracks across the country. Some of his major accomplishments include, being a two-time World of Outlaws Feature Winner, a USAC National Midget Feature Winner, eight time Chili Bowl A-Main starter, 2015 and 2016 Trophy Cup Champion, 2014 Civil War Series Champion, 2012 and 2014 Ocean Speedway Champion, and 2009 Calistoga Speedway Champion. In 2013, Golobic also made three NASCAR K&N Pro Series West starts for Bill McAnally Racing at Roseville, Bakersfield and Phoenix, finishing a career best 8th place twice.

“I’m very excited for Shane… obviously, he knows his way around dirt,” said Wood. “I think this will be an opportunity for him to showcase that talent on one of the World’s biggest stages. I’m very proud of what we have accomplished with our Sprint Car and Midget program. This will be completely new experience for us. Hopefully we can do more in the future with Matt, BJ and Live Fast Motorsports.”

Live Fast Motorsports co-owner, BJ McLeod, added, “We are so excited to work with Matt Wood and have Shane in the car at the Bristol dirt race. The race itself is going to be nothing short of entertaining, so to have Shane behind the wheel of our car makes it even more special for us as a new NASCAR Cup Series team.”

Race coverage for the Food City Dirt Race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sunday, March 28th starts at 3:30 p.m. ET live on FOX and PRN Radio.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available on the LFM No. 78 for the NASCAR Cup Series dirt race at the World’s Fastest Half-mile. For more information, send inquiries to allison@prioritymanagementmarketing.com.

Ford Performance NASCAR: Riley Herbst Las Vegas Media Availability

Ford Performance Notes and Quotes
NASCAR Cup Series
Zoom Media Availability | Wednesday, March 3, 2021

Riley Herbst, driver of the No. 98 South Point  Ford Mustang in the NASCAR XFINITY Series, is coming off a season-best 11th-place finish in last weekend’s race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.  He spoke with members of the media this afternoon as he prepares for Saturday’s scheduled event at his hometown track — Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

RILEY HERBST, No. 98 South Point Ford Mustang HOW EXCITED ARE YOU TO GET BACK TO LAS VEGAS?  “It’s always exciting to go back home and see a few friends and family and get to race in front of them this time around, which is cool.  It’s cool to have fans back in the stands, but just looking forward to hopefully putting a whole race together with our 98 team and running up towards the front.”

WHAT IS IT LIKE TO BE THE SOLE FOCUS AND NOT HAVE TEAMMATES?  “It’s a bit different, to be honest with you, but at the plate track at Daytona I had two really good teammates in Austin Cindric and Ryan Sieg, and I felt like me and Austin worked pretty well together to keep our Mustangs up front, but throughout the day-to-day process it is a little bit different without two to three teammates with you every single week on the track.  It’s kind of me just leaning on Richard Boswell than my teammates, but I also have really good Cup teammates as well that have won a lot of races in the XFINITY program at Stewart-Haas Racing in Chase Briscoe and Cole Custer that I can call up and ask them any questions any time, so I feel like we’re handling it pretty well.”

HOW DOES IT FEEL GOING INTO THESE RACES WITH NO PRACTICE AND BEING WITH A NEW TEAM?  “I don’t feel behind at all this year.  Last year was really overwhelming to go to places I’ve never been before without practice and try to go race there and by the time the end of the race rolled around or stage three I was just starting to figure out that racetrack and we were loaded up and headed to the next track next week.  This time around I’ve been to these racetracks before and I’m definitely more confident in myself and the equipment and everything which is coming this season, so I’m really looking forward to this season and I feel like it will definitely be better.”

WHAT HAS IT BEEN LIKE ADJUSTING TO SHR THIS SEASON?  “The culture is quite a bit different.  Both are good cultures, they’re just different.  I’m really liking and I’m really gelling with the new guys over at Stewart-Haas Racing.  I feel like me and Richard have worked really well together these last couple of races, so I think things are going the right direction and, like I said, I’m just looking forward for a whole race to be put together from start to finish and I think we’ll have pretty good speed.”

WHAT IS IT ABOUT THE TRACK AT LAS VEGAS THAT SUITS YOUR DRIVING STYLE?  “I don’t know.  I feel like we’ve had speed there, but we haven’t really got the finishes that we wanted.  I like that mile-and-a-half.  It’s always cool.  It gives you a little bit more confidence running at home in front of friends and family, so hopefully it will pay off this weekend.”

Daly on Racing at Las Vegas: “Ever since the checkered flag fell in Las Vegas last year I was bothering Cody [Efaw] about another chance to get in a truck,” said Daly. “I learned so much during my first experience in the Truck Series, I had to try and come back to put it to good use! Working with everyone at Niece was an incredible experience and I want to go out and be able to deliver for them. It will be a shame not to have Travis Pastrana out there to chase around, but I hope to be able to make him proud. A big thank you to Fatheadz Eyewear and Elliott’s Custom Trailers & Carts for coming back to support this effort!”

Daly at Las Vegas: In Daly’s debut last season at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, without practice or qualifying, the NTT INDYCAR SERIES regular finished 18th.
