SCC ATLANTA ADDS FUN EVENTS FOR A GOOD CAUSE TO QS400 WEEKEND

HAMPTON, Ga. (May 29, 2025) – Speedway Children’s Charities Atlanta is complementing the Quaker State 400 Available at Walmart racing action with incredible experiences and fun events for fans to enjoy – and it’s all to support local children’s causes.

Here’s some of the SCC events fans can look forward to ahead of the Quaker State 400 on Saturday night, June 28:

Laps for Charity presented by Bennett Taylor Family Foundation

Before NASCAR’s stars hit Atlanta Motor Speedway’s high banks, Laps for Charity presented by Bennett Taylor Family Foundation will see fans turn the first laps of Atlanta’s summer race weekend.

This fan-favorite event gives fans the opportunity to drive their own vehicles on the historic 1.54-mile oval on Wednesday, June 25, with a donation to SCC Atlanta. Running from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., first-time participants will feel the thrill of driving through the speedway’s 28-degree banked corners and understand why so many fans return every race to circuit the track.

Participants can get three laps around the track in a group setting with a $60 donation to the charity. For an enhanced ride around the speedway, five-lap, single-car VIP sessions are available for $150 per vehicle.

Cornhole Tournament

Hosted by the American Cornhole Association, the 2025 SCC Cornhole Tournament will accompany the THOR Camper Appreciation Party in the Fan Zone on Thursday night, June 26.

Online advance registration is $40 per two-person team; on-site registration is $50 per team. The winners of the tournament will receive four tickets to the SCC VIP suite for the Quaker State 400 on Saturday night, June 26.

SCC Atlanta Live Auction

Ahead of the Quaker State 400 Available at Walmart on Saturday evening, SCC Atlanta will host a live auction at the Trackside Live stage inside the AMS Fan Zone. From unique pieces of racing history to one-of-a-kind, VIP race day experiences, the auction is packed full of tantalizing opportunities for the highest bidders – and again, it all benefits local kids.

The live auction will take place at the Trackside Live stage at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 28.

SCC Track Walk with NASCAR star Ross Chastain

Fans can start their race day right with a walk around Atlanta Motor Speedway’s historic 1.54-mile oval with Ross Chastain, driver of the No. 1 Chevrolet for Trackhouse Racing.

This experience is available with a $25 donation per person to SCC Atlanta – and kids 12 and under can join in for free with a paid adult. The walk begins at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, with check-in happening at 12 p.m. at Gate 15.

50/50 Raffle

Throughout the race weekend, volunteers with SCC Atlanta will be selling 50/50 raffle tickets. At the end of the weekend, half of the jackpot will go to a lucky winner and the rest will go to kids in need.

Fans attending the Quaker State 400 Available at Walmart weekend can purchase raffle tickets from volunteers at the speedway. Additionally, Georgia residents can purchase raffle entries online starting June 15.

Online Auction

Before race weekend arrives, fans can bid on awesome experiences in SCC Atlanta’s online auction. The online auction includes opportunities to waive the green flag during NASCAR qualifying sessions, ride along in a grand marshal vehicle during the race’s opening pace laps, score luxury suite tickets for the Quaker State 400, or even celebrate with race winners in victory lane.

The online auction runs now through Tuesday, June 24.

Race Day Recognition Boards

Fans who want to put a message up on the big screens around the track during the race can do so with a donation to SCC Atlanta.

Whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, family reunion, or another special occasion, SCC Atlanta’s Race Day Recognition Boards offer a unique way to recognize them in a memorable way.

Messages for Friday night’s Focused Health 250 are available with a $100 donation; messages for the Quaker State 400 on Saturday night are available for $150.

A limited number of slots are available for each race day on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration runs through Tuesday, June 24.

Following a top-five finish last Friday at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, Riggs is now sixth in the Truck Series Driver Championship points standings. Riggs has finished within the top-five in the last two races, finishing fourth at the Charlotte Motor Speedway and second at the North Wilkesboro Speedway.

Berry, Freightliner Team Have High Hopes For Nashville

Josh Berry and the No. 21 Freightliner team are headed to Nashville Superspeedway, the 1.33-mile concrete oval that is about a 30-mile drive from Berry’s hometown of Hendersonville, Tenn., for Sunday evening’s Cracker Barrel 400.

Berry, who qualified on the outside pole last year in his only Cup start at Nashville, said he’s looking forward to returning to the track and continuing the run he and the Freightliner team have had on intermediate-length ovals this season. That includes a win on the 1.5-mile Las Vegas Motor Speedway in March.

“I feel good about where we’ve been on the intermediates,” Berry said. “We’ve shown a lot of speed and been really competitive. The goal is to keep building on that, especially in qualifying and continuing to learn with the playoffs in mind. Nashville and Michigan are two tracks I’m looking forward to. I felt like we ran well there last year, so I see them as great opportunities to put together some solid results and keep improving.”

Practice for the Cracker Barrel 400 is set for Saturday at 3:35 p.m. Central Time (4:35 Eastern) to be followed by qualifying at 4:45 (5:45 Eastern). Sunday’s 399-mile race is expected to get the green flag just after 6 p.m. (7 p.m. Eastern), with Stage breaks planned for Laps 90 and 185. Amazon Prime will carry the TV coverage all weekend.

NASCAR at Nashville – Weekend Schedule and Highlights

NASCAR heads to Nashville Superspeedway for the fifth consecutive year with an action-packed weekend as all three national series compete. This weekend’s race at Nashville will be the 2,800th Cup Series race.

It will also be the final Cup Series race before the NASCAR In-Season Challenge. The challenge will consist of the top 32 drivers competing in five races, beginning on June 28 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. It will conclude on July 20 with the Indianapolis 400.

Cup Series at Nashville Notes

Kyle Larson led 264 laps of the 300 scheduled laps (88.0%) in 2021 after starting the race in fifth place. He is the only driver to have finished in the top 10 in all four races at Nashville, with an average finish of 4.5.

This weekend’s race at Nashville will be the 2,800th Cup Series race. It will also be significant for Denny Hamlin, who will reach another milestone in his career as he makes his 700th Cup Series start at Nashville.

Xfinity Series at Nashville Notes

JR Motorsports is seven wins away from reaching 100. There are only three teams that have won at least 100 Xfinity Series races: Joe Gibbs Racing (217), RFK Racing (138), and Richard Childress Racing (100).

In the 13 Xfinity Series races this season, there have been 191 lead changes, the third-most all-time. There have been 106 different leaders, the second-most of all time.

2025 is the first season since 2017 without a first-time winner in the first 13 races.

Nashville Superspeedway has hosted four NASCAR Cup Series races from 2021 through 2024. Kyle Larson won the first race in 2021 by 4.335 seconds over runner-up Ross Chastain. Chase Elliott won the 2022 race by 0.551 seconds over runner-up Kurt Busch, and Ross Chastain won in 2023 by 0.789 seconds over runner-up Martin Truex Jr.

In 2024, Joey Logano turned his luck into good fortune after surviving through a record-setting five overtime attempts while going 110 laps on his low tank of fuel to grab a thrilling victory in the fourth annual running of the Ally 400.

Denny Hamlin captured last season’s pole with a lap of 160.354 mph (29.859 secs.) in his No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota.

Zane Smith Notes

The NASCAR Cup Series heads to Lebanon, Tennessee this weekend for a 300-lap race at the Nashville Superspeedway. For Zane Smith and the No. 38 Ford team, the 1.33-mile concrete track provides a great opportunity for Smith and the team to have a strong run. In his sole Cup Series start at the track in 2024, Smith walked away with a second-place finish after a record five overtime restarts. In three Truck Series starts, Smith has three top-five finishes, finishing second place in both 2022 and 2023 and fourth in 2021.

The Nashville Superspeedway is next up on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule for Todd Gilliland and the No. 34 Ford team. Following Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600, Gilliland now sits 22nd in the Cup Series points standings. This weekend will mark Gilliland’s fourth Cup Series start at the 1.33-mile concrete track. In the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, Gilliland has one start, finishing second in 2021 in the No. 38 Ford F-150 for Front Row Motorsports.

Noah Gragson Notes

Noah Gragson and the No. 4 Ford team head to Nashville, Tennesse for this weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series race at the Nashville Superspeedway. Having previously raced at the 1.33-mile concrete track in both the NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series, the Nashville Superspeedway is a favorite for Gragson. In the 2024 Cup Series season, driving the No. 10 Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing, Gragson achieved a 10th-place finish. This marked his first top-10 finish in two Cup starts at Nashville. In the Xfinity Series, Gragson has three starts at Nashville. He secured an 8th-place finish in 2021 and a 13th-place finish in 2022, both with JR Motorsports. In 2024, driving for Rette Jones Racing, he earned a 5th-place finish.
