Blake Harris to call 100th Cup event as crew chief at Martinsville

In his third full-time season as a crew chief in the NASCAR Cup Series division, Blake Harris, who currently works atop the pit box of the No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 team piloted by Alex Bowman, is scheduled to achieve a milestone feat. By participating in this weekend’s Cup Playoff event at Martinsville Speedway, Harris will call his 100th event as a crew chief in NASCAR’s premier series.

A native of Maypearl, Texas, Harris, who grew up as a racer competing in go-karts and stock car touring series before transitioning to a mechanical phase in racing, first worked for Evernham Motorsports in the engine and chassis departments, beginning in 2006. Four years later, he joined forces with Furniture Row Racing and worked his way up to be a car chief. Working with notable competitors that included Kurt Busch and Martin Truex Jr., Harris was a part of the first Cup Series championship for both Truex and Furniture Row Racing in 2017.

After Furniture Row Racing ceased operations following the 2018 season, Harris followed Truex to Joe Gibbs Racing, where he worked as the car chief for Truex’s No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Camry team. A year later, the Texan made his debut as a Cup Series crew chief for Truex at Texas Motor Speedway in October 2020, where he filled in for crew chief James Small after Small was ejected before the event and fined $35,000 due to NASCAR confiscating Truex’s rear spoiler during the event’s pre-race inspection process. During the main event, Truex finished in second place behind teammate Kyle Busch.

In January 2022, Harris was named crew chief for veteran Michael McDowell and the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports Ford Mustang team for the upcoming Cup Series season. Commencing the season with a seventh-place result during the 65th running of the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway, Harris and McDowell recorded two third-place results (Sonoma Raceway in June and Talladega Superspeedway in October) and seven top-10 results in 32 races. During the season, Harris was fined $100,000 and issued a four-race suspension due to McDowell’s No. 34 team being levied an L2 penalty for violating the body and overall vehicle assembly rules involving modifications of a single source supplied part from Pocono Raceway in July. With the duo missing the 2022 Cup Series Playoffs, Harris and McDowell proceeded to settle in 23rd place in the final drivers’ standings.

A month before the 2022 season’s conclusion, Harris transitioned to Hendrick Motorsports to serve as the crew chief of the No. 48 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 team piloted by Alex Bowman. In their first event together, Harris navigated Bowman to his third Daytona 500 career pole, where Bowman would proceed to finish in fifth place during the main event. Despite notching three consecutive top-nine results over the following three races, Harris would then be suspended for the following four races from late March through early April. The Texan’s suspension was due to Hendrick Motorsports being hit with a severe penalty both in points and fines due to the team’s hood louvers being confiscated from all four entries during the Phoenix weekend. The suspensions also affected Hendrick’s three crew chiefs that included Cliff Daniels, Rudy Fugle and Alan Gustafson.

Despite returning by mid-April and working the following two races with Bowman driving the No. 48 Chevrolet, Harris would then spend the next four races, including the non-points All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway, working with Josh Berry as Bowman was recovering from a sprint car accident at West Burlington, Iowa, in late April. During the four-race stretch with Berry, Harris navigated the No. 48 team to a victory in the non-points All-Star Open at North Wilkesboro Speedway that enabled them to transfer into the All-Star Race. Despite Bowman returning for the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May, he and Harris recorded only two top-six runs for the remaining 13 regular-season events on the schedule as they missed the 2023 Cup Playoffs. With two additional top-10 results recorded for the final 10 races on the schedule, Harris and Bowman concluded their first campaign in 20th place in the final drivers’ standings.

Harris and Bowman commenced the 2024 Cup season on a strong note by finishing in second place in the 66th running of the Daytona 500 after being edged by teammate William Byron at the moment of caution on the final lap. They would proceed to record an additional three top-five results and a total of nine top-10 results over their next 18 starts.

Then during the series’ second annual event at the Chicago Street Course, Harris achieved his first Cup Series career victory as a crew chief when Bowman capitalized on a late pit strategy to lead the final eight of 58-shortened laps and muscle away from the field during a late-race countdown to snap an 80-race winless drought and secure a guaranteed spot into the 2024 Cup Series Playoffs. After capping off the final six races of the regular-season stretch with an additional top-five run, the duo of Harris and Bowman would achieve respective results of fifth, 18th and ninth throughout the Playoff’s Round of 16 that enabled them to transfer into the Round of 12. They then transferred into the Round of 8 with respective finishes of sixth, 16th and 18th throughout the Round of 12.

Following the Round of 12 finale at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course (Roval), however, Harris, Bowman and the No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports team were disqualified from continuing in the Playoffs as title contenders due to Bowman’s entry being deemed too light and not meeting the minimum weight specifications during the event’s post-race inspection process. Since the Roval, Bowman has achieved two consecutive top-seven results and is currently ranked in ninth place in the driver’s standings with two races remaining of the 2024 season.

Through 99 previous Cup events, Blake Harris has achieved one victory, two poles, 14 top-five results, and 38 top-10 results while working with four different competitors.

Blake Harris is scheduled to call his 100th Cup Series event as a crew chief at Martinsville Speedway for the Xfinity 500. The event is scheduled to occur on Sunday, November 3, and air at 2 p.m. ET on NBC.

EJ Stats: Erik Jones has 15 NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) starts at Martinsville Speedway and five NASCAR Truck Series (NTS) starts at the Virginia track. His best finish in the NCS is eighth, earned in the fall of 2021. This past April, Jones finished the race 12th overall. Jones has one top-10 and five top-15s at the short track. With five starts in the NTS, Jones has two top-fives, earning a third-place finish in the spring of 2015, and four top-10 finishes overall.

JHN Stats: This weekend, John Hunter Nemechek will be making his fourth NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) start at the track that they call “the paperclip”. During those three starts, he has an average starting spot of 23rd and an average finishing spot of 29th. However, the North Carolina native has seen success at the half-mile speedway as he collected the grandfather clock with his 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series victory, that being is his second, as he also secured one in 2018 when he won the NASCAR Truck Series race.

Beshore at Martinsville: Crew chief Ben Beshore has four NCS starts at Martinsville Speedway, to include three starts with Kyle Busch who finished second in the fall race of 2021. He has three starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, and a pair of wins to show for it – finding victory at the Virginia short track with driver Harrison Burton in 2020 and with John Hunter Nemechek in 2023.

LAS VEGAS (Oct. 29, 2024) – The NHRA Countdown to the Championship playoffs haven’t gone the way Funny Car’s Bob Tasca III had hoped, but the veteran standout can still end the 2024 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season with a big finish starting at this weekend’s 24th annual Ford Performance NHRA Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Tasca has been a longtime Ford driver, which makes this weekend even more important as he campaigns his 11,000-horsepower Ford Performance Mustang Dark Horse this weekend in Las Vegas. A win at his sponsor’s race would certainly add a major high note to close out the season and Tasca also has a chance to sweep both races at Las Vegas this year.

He won the 4-Wide race in the spring in thrilling fashion and he hopes to replicate that this weekend, while also moving back up the points standings. Tasca is in fifth, 211 points behind leader Austin Prock, who has the opportunity to clinch the Funny Car world championship this weekend.

Tasca, though, is focused on putting a show in front of his sponsors and fans, with cool temperatures setting the stage for monster runs this weekend.

“The energy in Las Vegas is always electric and racing in front of fans who love this sport as much as we do is a privilege,” said Tasca, who has three wins and four final-round appearances this year. “This weekend is all about execution and making sure every move gets us closer to another Vegas Wally this season for Ford Performance and our entire team.”

Last season, Mike Salinas (Top Fuel), Robert Hight (Funny Car), Erica Enders (Pro Stock) and Gaige Herrera (Pro Stock) all won the late-season race in Las Vegas. This year’s race will again be broadcast on FS1, with elimination coverage at 5 p.m. ET on Sunday, Nov. 3. It is the fifth of six races in the Countdown to the Championship and the 19th of 20 races in the 2024 season, and Tasca isn’t the only Ford driver looking for a big weekend in Las Vegas.

Funny Car rookie Daniel Wilkerson has enjoyed a strong year, but nothing would make his season sweeter than a victory in Las Vegas in his 11,000-horsepower Scag Power Equipment Mustang. He’s come close, advancing to the final round at the spring race in Charlotte.

He’s also been competitive throughout the year and is currently sixth in points with a goal of moving into the top five in his first full season in the Funny Car ranks. There’s a host of challengers, including reigning world champ Matt Hagan, J.R. Todd and Ron Capps, but Wilkerson is thrilled for the weekend, as well as the chance to introduce new people to the sport in Vegas.

“I can’t wait to represent Ford Performance at their own race this weekend,” Wilkerson said. “We will be doing one of my favorite things on Wednesday with Ford which is sending folks down the dragstrip in street cars that have never been in competition before. It is so fun to see people’s reactions to drag racing for the first time, and usually one or two of them vow to get into the sport in one way or another after this experience. Tim (Wilkerson, crew chief and Daniel’s father) has a pretty good combination to run up in Las Vegas too, so I can’t wait to see what he and the guys put together for this weekend.”

Prock leads teammate Jack Beckman, who is racing for John Force, by 147 points, with Hagan 168 points back. Force will also be in attendance this weekend, making his first appearance at the track since his crash in late June in Richmond.

In Top Fuel, Justin Ashley will look to hold off an array of championship drivers. He jumped into the points lead with his Dallas win and currently has a 44-point advantage over Antron Brown. Shawn Langdon, Steve Torrence, Tony Schumacher and Clay Millican are also in the championship mix.

Dallas Glenn currently leads the way in Pro Stock, as the 2021 NHRA Rookie of the Year holds a 53-point advantage over another young standout, Aaron Stanfield. Greg Anderson is 90 points back, while reigning Pro Stock champion Enders, whose 10 wins are the most in NHRA history at The Strip, is 111 points out of first.

Gaige Herrera is after a second straight title in Pro Stock Motorcycle, with the defending event winner ahead of six-time champ Matt Smith by 62 points. Other standouts include Hector Arana Jr., Jianna Evaristo, Chase Van Sant and Richard Gadson.

The Ford Performance NHRA Nationals also will feature thrilling competition in the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series and the Summit Racing Series E.T. Finals. The weekend will also include action in Legends Nitro Funny Car class and a spectacular jet dragster exhibition after nitro qualifying on Friday and Saturday.

It’s also the final race of the 2024 season in the Congruity NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series presented by LearnEV+, Johnson’s Horsepowered Mountain Motor Pro Stock and the new Holley EFI Factory X category.

Fans are invited to the Nitro Alley Stage in the pits, where they can take part in Nitro School, meet and greets, influencer interviews and much more. Vegas race fans can enjoy the special pre-race ceremonies that celebrate each of the drivers racing for the prestigious Wally on Sunday and includes the SealMaster Track Walk. The final can’t-miss experience of any NHRA event is the winner’s circle celebration on Sunday, where fans are invited to congratulate the Ford Performance NHRA Nationals event winners.

You’ve shown good speed at Martinsville in your three previous starts there with Stewart-Haas the past two seasons – qualifying on the pole and leading 135 laps in April 2023, qualifying ninth last October, and then driving from 22nd to a ninth-place finish this past April. How much of that would you attribute to your previous outings on the track with the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour?

“I think the background in short-track racing just gives you a pretty good understanding of what you need when it comes to racing on a track like Martinsville. So for me, I feel pretty confident going into Martinsville and have a good idea of what to look for and, hopefully, we can put together a complete race weekend and improve on the good runs we’ve had there together. We’ve had really fast cars there with Stewart-Haas, just need to put together that complete race. A speeding penalty killed our momentum and cost us quite a bit of track position in the spring race last year. This past April, we had a good car in the race, but just needed to qualify a whole lot better. But, overall, our short-track program has trended in the right direction since I’ve been here.”

You’ve earned two Martinsville clocks – the first coming in 2008 and the second last year – and both came via the Modified Tour. Do you feel the Martinsville clock is one of the more coveted trophies in racing?

“I mean, it’s definitely one – yeah, absolutely. It seems like every track has kind of tried to elevate their game when it comes to trophies. I feel like it just gives that race that much more significance. But the Martinsville clock has been around for so long. I don’t know how long they’ve been doing it but, to be honest, there’s nostalgia that goes along with it. I just wound my clock up last night. Most trophies I have are lined up on a shelf or in a trophy case. That one, it’s a constant reminder – when you’re winding it up, you remember that day.”

Where do you keep your clocks? And do you have them set to chime?

“One clock is (at my home) in North Carolina, the one I won last year, but the other clock is up in Connecticut at my father’s house. They’re definitely ones that I love.”

The Modified Tour races at a lot of iconic venues, and it’s a series where racers have specific tracks circled because it’s a big deal. For a New Englander like yourself, tracks like New Hampshire and Thompson come to mind. But Martinsville is the one stop where New Englanders always got to show off the awesomeness of the Modified Tour to NASCAR country. So, does winning at Martinsville take on added significance, and are those grandfather clocks maybe more appreciated just because of Martinsville’s history on the Modified Tour, which has been racing there since the 1960s?

“So, going back in history, Modifieds are mainly north of the Mason Dixon (Line) type of type of racing, right? But then it used to be the NASCAR Winston Series, or whatever it was, it was their national points series, and that’s what guys like Richie Evans, Geoff Bodine and so on and so forth, that’s what they raced for. And they never came down South to race against guys like Jerry Cook, who stayed in the Southeast, and those guys stayed in the Northeast. So that was like the meeting ground for the Northeast – New Englanders or whatnot – Modified racers from up in the Northeast to come and battle against the Southeast with guys like Richie Evans, many of them, coming down. And when you’d win that race, you’d be taking that piece with you, that was like our victory flag. So, fast-forwarding 30, 40 years, it’s still that same way. It was always the ‘Dirty South’ versus the ‘Nasty North’ and we’d be going up against guys like Tim Brown or Bert Myers back when I was 17, 18 years old and still trying to beat those guys. So, yeah, it is a constant reminder that the North is still really fast.”

What’s the key to having speed and racing competitively at Martinsville?

“When we have the right setup, the speed is there. We’ve shown that during the last few races there. There are things that have changed over that time, but it’s still the same track, so we just need to make sure that our group continues to move in the direction we’ve been headed. Looking back over the past couple of years, Stewart-Haas as a whole has definitely had speed at Martinsville. It’s been really nice to see some of the capabilities that we’ve had at the short tracks in general, so we’re looking forward to it. The biggest thing to emphasize is the field has been closer than it’s ever been, so it’s not easy to pass in general. If you have a car that is maneuverable and can go where other drivers aren’t, you can find a way to pass. Outside of that, it’s going to be about strategy and track position.”

  • Rogers’ Martinsville Stats: Wally Rogers has called 11 NCTS races at Martinsville, with highlights including one top-five and four top-10 finishes. Rogers’ best truck run at this track came in 2005 while working with Ron Hornaday who finished third. He has also been on top of the box for one Xfinity Series race and nine Cup Series races held at ‘The Paperclip’.

  • Recapping Homestead-Miami: Bayley Currey and the No. 41 Masked Owl team were struck with damage after an incident with another competitor in stage one at Homestead-Miami Speedway. After starting 11th, Currey dropped to 26th in the first stage and 33rd in the second stage. The team lost several laps with repairs being made, resulting in a 31st-place finish.
  • Points Rundown: Currey continues to sit 19th in the championship points standings even after his disappointing run in Homestead-Miami. Entering Martinsville, the driver of the No. 41 is on the heels of 18th-place’s Bret Holmes, who is only ahead by five points. Kaden Honeycutt is behind Currey in 20th, 12 points behind him.
  • Quoting Currey: What would you rate a Martinsville hot dog on a scale from one to 10?

“I mean, I really don’t think I know if there’s one that’s better. Wienerschnitzel is pretty high, but I’m going to say seven, maybe eight. All the way too. It’s not a Martinsville dog if you don’t get it ‘STP style’ or whatever it is. The most I’ve ever had in a weekend is 13, but I can’t do that anymore.”

  • Quoting Rogers: Thoughts on competing at Martinsville Speedway:

“Martinsville is a great track and has many challenges. Track position, turning the middle of the corner, and maintaining drive off are just a couple of them. Chances are, you will pit only one time so your truck needs to be driving good. There can be a lot of bumping and banging throughout the race so keeping the fenders on will be important. If we execute properly on all these things we will have a good finish.”

  • Mills Approved for Martinsville: Following a scary incident in last week’s race at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Matt Mills was transported to the Jackson South Medical Center where he stayed two nights for further evaluation after suffering smoke inhalation. A group of doctors from both the NASCAR medical team and the hospital released Mills on Monday and later approved him to compete in Friday’s race at Martinsville Speedway.
  • Mills’ Martinsville Stats: Back in April, Matt Mills made his first-career NCTS start at Martinsville Speedway. After getting involved in a late-race crash, Mills was forced to settle with a 29th-place finish. Mills has made a total of six NASCAR Xfinity Series starts at the 0.526-mile short track, posting a best finish of 18th in the spring of 2022.
  • Shiplett’s Martinsville Stats: Mike Shiplett called his first Truck Series race at Martinsville in the spring, where he finished 24th with Bret Holmes. Shiplett has made 12 Cup Series starts here, posting a best run of 12th in the fall of 2010 with AJ Allmendinger. Last year, he nearly won his first Xfinity Series race at the half-mile short track with Austin Hill before getting involved in a last lap crash.
  • On the Truck: Mills’ No. 42 Chevrolet Silverado RST will race with support from longtime partners J.F. Electric and Utilitra.
  • Recapping Homestead-Miami: Matt Mills and the No. 42 Utilitra / J.F. Electric team’s race was cut short following a hard crash on lap 74 at Homestead-Miami. The team had to start at the rear of the field with a transmission change, but Mills climbed to 18th in stage one and 15th in stage two. While battling with another competitor for position, contact sent Mills careening into the outside wall, resulting in a 34th-place finish.
  • Points Rundown: Mills remains 23rd in the NCTS driver points standings following his 34th-place finish at Homestead-Miami. Directly ahead of Mills in 22nd is Timmy Hill, who currently has a 20-point gap above him. Behind sits Lawless Alan in 24th, who has a 13-point deficit.
  • Quoting Mills: Were you able to take any positives away from the spring Martinsville race to bring it into this weekend?

“Yeah, we were pretty good in Martinsville, just kind of kept getting buried on track position and our strategies didn’t play out that well. Overall, we had a fast truck and that day should have been a lot better than what it was. I’m going there with some redemption hope.”

  • Quoting Shiplett: What is the key to staying up front at Martinsville?

“The biggest thing with Martinsville is understanding your braking points and how far you can drive into the corners on new tires versus old tires. The way the truck race plays out, you should only pit one time and then you have to stay out, manage your tires, and play defense. It’s not really about rolling the center of the corner as it is with your drive off, so you have to try and keep your track position all race long. Nobody is going to pass in the middle, and it’s very seldom that the outside lane gets going. Just being able to hold your position and get good drive off is the key to success here.”

Gould made his series debut at the Milwaukee Mile back in August, and is a regular late model stock competitor in the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series at Hickory Motor Speedway.
  • Gould’s Martinsville Stats: Matt Gould will make his first-career start in any series at Martinsville Speedway during Friday night’s Zip Buy Now Pay Later 200.
  • Leonard’s Martinsville Stats: Jon Leonard has called three NCTS races at Martinsville before, showing a 13th-place run with Stewart Friesen as his best result in 2022. Leonard also called two Cup Series races here, finishing as high as 19th with Michael McDowell in 2017.
  • STEM Appearance: Last Wednesday, Niece Motorsports drivers Matt Gould, Bayley Currey, and Matt Mills spent the day at Martinsville Speedway teaching a group of students from the local Patrick Henry Elementary School the importance of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) within the NASCAR industry.   • Quoting Matt Gould: Now that you have a truck race under your belt, do you think this weekend should be a little bit easier as far as getting used to everything?

“For sure. I think I am going into Martinsville with a whole lot more confidence than what I felt heading into Milwaukee since there was a lot of unknowns. Now, I feel like I can unload off of the trailer and pick it up in practice to be better in the race. I can’t thank Al (Niece), Cody (Efaw), and everyone at Niece Equipment and Chevrolet enough for this second chance at racing their truck.”

  • Quoting Leonard: Do you think Matt’s late model experience is going to help him at all in the truck, or is this something completely different?

“Yeah, absolutely. I know the No. 44 team had some problems at Milwaukee, but I think the second half of the race, he began to adapt pretty well. I think with his background at Hickory, running a truck on the short tracks will correlate. We spent some time in the simulator and I thought he did really well. It’s a rhythm racetrack, so I think once he gets in a groove with some practice under his belt, he’ll be just fine.”

  • Quoting Phil Gould: How much of a benefit for Matt was running the Milwaukee race and do you think that should help his learning curve?

“Yeah, definitely. I think Martinsville is the closest he’ll be to what he’s been used to running in the late models. Milwaukee was definitely a lot faster, more technical than Martinsville, but I think having another race under his belt in a truck will give him some more confidence this weekend.”

In this year’s spring race, Honeycutt secured his first top-10 finish at ‘The Paperclip’ with a ninth-place result. Honeycutt made both his Truck Series and Xfinity Series debuts here in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
  • Gould’s Martinsville Stats: Phil Gould has called seven Truck Series races at Martinsville, earning two top-fives and three top-10 finishes. In the fall race of 2019, Gould’s team finished runner-up with Ross Chastain.

  • Recapping Homestead-Miami: Kaden Honeycutt and the No. 45 team had a promising showing at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Qualifying sixth, Honeycutt made quick work in stage one to finish runner-up on the bumper of the leader. In stage two, Honeycutt followed up the performance with a fifth-place effort. During the final green flag pit cycle, the No. 45 lost some positions and was ultimately dropped to a 14th-place result.
  • Owner Points Outlook: Entering the penultimate race of the year at Martinsville, the No. 45 team remains seeded ninth overall in the owner points standings. Following closely in 10th is Spire Motorsports’ No. 7 team, which is currently three points behind the No. 45.
  • Quoting Honeycutt: You got a good finish in the spring race, but do you think the track will have changed much this time?

“I think the track will be the same as what we raced in the spring. We are bringing something different this time to see if we can improve to a winning truck. We were top-five last time we were there, but we want to go win and I think we have improved since then. I think it will be about track position like it always is starting with qualifying good enough to put yourself in the position at the end of it. It’s going to be crazy with all the playoff drivers trying to win and get into the Championship 4. We are going to do what we need to do to win.”

How much confidence do you have when going to Martinsville?

“I think we got to a point with the old car that we had some things that really worked for me. We used to have it for a long time, and just did some fine tuning, tweaking here and there. Learning how to race and learning how to win at Martinsville, you learn a lot about the track and what it takes. Then they switched the car and that’s been a challenge for us. Two years ago, we were in trouble there, and then last two races there we were kind of hit-or-miss throughout the day. I feel like we are still trying to get some of that magic back of what I need there, what are things that kind of turn that switch for me there and do the things that I want it to. What I do know is that you really need to be upfront and be dialed in, so hopefully we can make that happen this weekend with our Auto-Owners Insurance Camry.”

How important is qualifying at Martinsville?

“It’s very important. All of the short tracks, qualifying has been huge from starting up front and having a good pit stall. You need both of those at Martinsville to be successful and we were able to win the pole there last fall, which is a huge help for the whole race. Track position is going to be everything.”

What are the challenges of racing at Martinsville as far as navigating it lap to lap and controlling your emotions there?

“The biggest thing is just the beating and banging that happens there and getting knocked out of the way. For me, I’ve really only had one issue there, which was getting taken out of the race at the end in 2018. It gets like that at Martinsville, it’s just a tough track. When it comes down to a few laps to go, you can go down there and blow the corner and run into somebody and can get the spot. That’s where the frustration comes from there, from a lot of drivers over the years.”

In recent years, you’ve raced at Martinsville at night as well as during the day. What’s the biggest difference between night and day racing there?

“It’s really not that different. The biggest change is just when it’s either warmer or cooler. I don’t think nighttime has changed it a whole bunch, maybe just slightly. A lot of it depends on the tire and if it puts rubber down. That’s really the game-changer from our standpoint, it changes the track more than anything. This race usually finishes under the lights, so it could factor into the end of the race and how your car is handling.”
