. A total of 17 Team Chevy drivers will start the Aaron’s 499 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race at Talladega SuperSpeedway, round eight of the 2011 season
. The four cars from Hendrick Motorsports captured the top-four starting positions for the 188-lap/500-mile race, only the third time in NASCAR history a team owner captured the top-four starting positions
. Chevrolet drivers starting in the top-10:
o Jeff Gordon, No. 24 Drive To End Hunger Chevrolet won the pole, the 70th of his career and places him third on the all-time pole winner’s list
o Jimmie Johnson, No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet, starts second (2nd)
o Mark Martin, No. 5 CARQUEST/GoDaddy.com Chevrolet, rolls off third (3rd)
o Dale Earnhardt, Jr., No. 88 National Guard/AMP Energy Chevrolet, starts in fourth (4th)
o Paul Menard, No. 27 Schrock/Menards Chevrolet, is the fifth-place (5th) starter
o Clint Bowyer, No. 33 BB&T Chevrolet, will start 10th
