BURTON READY TO TACKLE MONSTER MILE:
Jeb Burton walked away from Charlotte Motor Speedway proud; and his career best finish was not the only reason. Jeb also landed the Sunoco Rookie of the Race award as well as the Featherlite Most Improved Driver award. This was the perfect redemption from his Kansas finish proving his and his team’s abilities.
Burton heads to Dover International Speedway this weekend for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Lucas Oil 200. This will be Burton’s first start at the Monster Mile and he is looking forward to gaining experience on the famed concrete fast track. Dover is a favorite to many veteran drivers and Burton is eager to find out why.
POINT STANDINGS:
After four starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Burton ranks 20th in overall points. He improved his standing by five positions after his Charlotte 8th place finish. Not bad for missing the season opener at Daytona due to not being cleared for a superspeedway and one DNF at Kansas.

“I am going to Dover with a lot more confidence especially because of how we performed at Charlotte. I know we are capable of top 10 finishes and I know we can put this No. 27 State Water Heaters Chevy Silverado in Victory Lane. I am excited to get to Dover, watch some of the experienced drivers and learn from them. My Dad is also able to give me good advice as he has raced at the Monster Mile quite a bit. I hear Dover is like a big Bristol. It’s fast and fun but a tough track to conquer. I’m going to stay focused, be patient and keep up our momentum.”
DOVER AIR FORCE BASE:
“We are doing something really special when we get to Dover. We are visiting the airmen at Dover Air Force Base on Thursday before the track opens. It is really important to honor those who serve and protect our country and since we just celebrated Memorial Day, it’s cool to be able to meet these men and women and personally thank them for their service.”
SPECIAL DECALS ON THE TRUCK:
Burton is one of many drivers who will participate in raising awareness for autism by supporting Autism Speaks and displaying a special decal on his No. 27 State Water Heaters Chevy on June 1, 2012. “I am happy to be a part of this cause,” stated Burton. “Dover has partnered with Autism Speaks for six years and as a rookie driver coming up, I want to show that I am in support of important issues.”
