NASCAR CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES – RACE 6 OF 22 Dover International Speedway

DOVER WILL NOT BE A DOWNER FOR CHASTAIN:

With yet another engine failure in Charlotte, rookie Ross Chastain is looking to put the past behind him and turn his luck around with his No. 08 Georgia Watermelon Association/Watermelon.org Toyota Tundra at Dover International Speedway.  Ths will be Chastain’s 11th start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and his sixth start this season.

Chastain started 18th at Charlotte Motor Speedway and advanced to 15th almost immediately after the green flag fell.  However, Chastain was plagued with motor issues once again as another sputtering engine gave out and ended his day too early on lap 12 and he finished in a disappointing 35tu position.

Chastain is determined to put all bad luck behind him and arrive at Dover International Speedway confident about his chances at the famous Monster Mile.  Chastain’s sponsor, Georgia Watermelon Association/Watermelon.org is also eager to see the No. 08 truck in the field at Dover.  Crew chief, Bryan Berry and Chastain are ready to attack the Monster Mile.

Where The Points Fall:

Chastain’s unfortunate engine issues have caused him to drop in the NCWTS point standings placing him in the 25th position.

THOUGHTS FROM THE DRIVER: Ross Chastain:

ON HIS ENGINE FAILURES:

“I can’t tell you how frustrating it is to have engine failure two races in a row.  We came to Kansas and Charlotte, ran well in practice and qualifying, then we get cut short and parked just a few laps into the race.  I almost felt jinxed.  But I am not going to let the past get us down.  We have a great truck for Dover and I am going to complete all the laps here!”

DOVER AIR FORCE BASE:

Chastain along with the Watermelon Queens will be meeting the airmen of the Dover Air Force Base on Thursday, May 31st, 2012 before the track opens.  “I feel really honored to meet these men and women who serve our country,” stated Chastain.  “I am looking forward to shaking their hands and thanking them face to face.”

SPECIAL DECALS:

Chastain is one of many drivers who will be supporting Autism Speaks by displaying a special decal on his truck.  Drivers are helping to raise autism awareness during the June 1-3, 2012 race weekend.  “I am proud to be part of this cause,” says Chastain.  “And the decals look great on the trucks!”
