JASON BOWLES SET TO MAKE FIRST RIGHT HAND TURNS OF THE SEASON THIS WEEKEND AT ROAD AMERICA IN AMERICAN MAJORITY NO. 81 TOYOTA

(MOORESVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA) June 19, 2012 – Jason Bowles and the NASCAR Nationwide Series will be heading to the first of three road course races of the 2012 season this weekend at Road America.  Following an impressive comeback race at Michigan, Jason and his American Majority No. 81 Toyota team are hoping to keep the momentum going this weekend in Wisconsin.

Jason on Road America…..“I have been looking forward to the road courses all season long and Road America is a great track.  I was fast their last year before some bad luck in the race so I’m excited to see how this weekend goes.  I think our American Majority No. 81 Toyota is going to be quick and I’m hoping we can compete for our first top-10 of the season.”

Jason a road racer?….Many do not know that before Jason began racing in Late Models and in the NASCAR K&N West Series, he was an excellent road course racer.  Winning numerous championships in karting, Jason advanced to race open wheeled cars in the Cooper Tires Zetec Championship, winning a race and the Rookie of the Year award in 2004.  Bowles also ran in the Grand Am Cup ST class alongside Andy Lally, recording a podium finish in his first start with the team.  In 2007, Jason recorded a top-10 finish in the GT class at the 24 hours of Daytona driving for O’Connell Racing.

Last year at Road America…..Road America is one of a handful of tracks on the 2012 NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule that Jason Bowles has prior experience on.  Last season at Road American driving for Rusty Wallace Incorporated, Bowles qualified the car in the top-10.  Unfortunately, an issue early in the race put Jason out of contention for a strong finish.

Jason’s thoughts on Michigan…..“We had a really fast racecar all day at Michigan.  It’s a real shame we got caught up in someone else’s mess on the first lap or we would have been in contention for a top-15 finish.  I really have to thank my guys for all their hard work during the race and throughout the weekend.  It was extremely hot out and the guys never quit on me so I really appreciate their effort.”

Points Update…..Following his sixth top-20 finish of the season, Jason Bowles moves into a tie for 14th in the NASCAR Nationwide Series standings with the #51 of Jeremy Clements.  Bowles is 46 points out of the top-10 and just 23 points from 13th.  The MacDonald Motorsports No. 81 also moved up in the owners standings to 22nd and tied with the #51 car.

Visit us on vendor row…..If you are out at the racetrack this weekend, be sure to stop by the American Majority booth on vendor row.  Try your hand at the iRacing simulators and meet Jason Bowles for an autograph as well as many other activities.
