MARTIN TRUEX JR. FOUNDATION TO HOST 5th ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT; 3rd ANNUAL FAN EVENT

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – July 5, 2012 – The Martin Truex Jr. Foundation will host the 5th Annual MTJF Golf Tournament presented by NAPA AUTO PARTS on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012 at Sea Oaks Country Club in Little Egg Harbor Township, NJ. The 19th Hole Dinner Celebration will be held immediately following the golf tournament.

These marquee events are part of a week-long fundraising initiative in Truex’s home state prior to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race in Dover, DE.

In just four years, these events have raised more than $700,000 for various community programs and initiatives such as feeding Iredell County (NC) children through our MTJF Backpack Program with the Second Harvest Food Bank, a special needs fund for children and their families at Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina and the building of the Martin Truex Jr. Pediatric Care Center at Southern Ocean Medical Center in New Jersey.

The golf tournament will host 144 golfers on an 18-hole championship course capped by a gourmet dinner for over 250 guests. A cocktail reception will precede the 19th Hole Dinner Celebration. During dinner guests will enjoy live entertainment, a silent auction and raffle prizes.

This year’s dinner will again include the presentation of the “Martin Truex Jr. Foundation Humanitarian of the Year Award.” Each year this award recognizes an outstanding citizen or organization that through their time and talent has exemplified the values of volunteerism and philanthropy to children in need.

Fans of all ages will also have the opportunity to meet Truex at the 3rd Annual MTJF Fan Event on Sept. 26, 2012 at the Holiday Inn in Manahawkin, NJ. Guests will be treated to dinner, entertainment, raffle prizes, a silent auction and a private autograph session with their two-time Nationwide Series champion.
