Headed to Hotlanta…The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) travels to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the 14th race of the 2012 season. Paludo has one previous start at the Hampton, Ga. track, earning a 22nd-place finish after fighting an extremely loose race truck in 2011.

Intermediate Experts…Turner Motorsports has been dominating at the intermediate tracks in 2012, earning five wins in eight NCWTS races at tracks one to two miles in length. Paludo is most at home on intermediate tracks as well, earning his best finishes of 2012 (10th at both Kansas Speedway and Michigan International Speedway) at tracks 1.5 to 2.0 miles long. In his 42 NCWTS starts, the Brazilian driver has scored nine of his 11 top-10 finishes at tracks greater than one mile in length.

World Diabetes Day…Paludo’s truck bed will feature the World Diabetes Day logo this weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway. World Diabetes Day, which is held annually on November 14th, is a campaign led by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), which named Paludo as their first South American Blue Circle Champion earlier this year. The date of World Diabetes Day celebrates the birthday of Frederick Banting who, along with Charles Best, first conceived the idea which led to the discovery of insulin in 1922. This Week’s Silverado…Paludo and the No. 32 Duroline Brakes and Components team will unload chassis TMS-216 for this week’s race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. This is the fifth appearance of the season for this truck, which has a best finish of 10th at Michigan International Speedway two weeks ago.

Diabetes Fact of the Week…Individuals can experience different warning signs indicating they should be tested for diabetes. Although there may be no obvious warning, some of the most commonly experienced signs of diabetes are: frequent urination, excessive thirst, increased hunger, weight loss, tiredness, lack of interest and concentration, vomiting and stomach pain (often mistaken as the flu), a tingling sensation or numbness in the hands or feet, blurred vision, frequent infections and slow-healing wounds. The onset of type 1 diabetes is usually sudden and dramatic, while the symptoms can often be mild or absent in people with type 2 diabetes, making this type of diabetes gradual in onset and hard to detect. If you show any of these signs, consult a health professional.

Previous Race Recap… Paludo turned what could have been a disastrous night into a top-20 finish at one of NASCAR’s toughest tracks. Paludo recovered from a late-race spin and fought his way back from being a lap down to bring home a 16th-place finish at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Miguel Paludo on driving at Atlanta Motor Speedway –

“I’m really looking forward to getting to Atlanta. It is a very fast track with lots of grooves to choose from and your tires wear out really fast. You have to be careful because you practice during the daytime and race at night, so you have to consider the difference when you’re working on your truck throughout the day.”

“Every time we go to a track over a mile, I get excited because those are my favorite tracks and where I’ve gotten my best finishes in the Truck Series. The truck we’re bringing (chassis TMS-216) has been really strong for us and my guys are working so hard to make it even better. Turner Motorsports’ mile-and-a-half program has been really good, so we’re all feeling very positive going to Atlanta. I know how hard it is to win in this sport, but with the great equipment we have at Turner Motorsports, we go to every racetrack feeling like we could come back with our first win.”
