Great Clips takes center stage for the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Phoenix… Great Clips, the longest-running sponsor in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS), is title sponsor of Saturday’s race at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) – the Great Clips 200.

Winner Winner! Don’t miss the pre-race ceremony on Saturday at 1:30pm (local time) in which one of three lucky winners will drive away in their own brand new Chevrolet Camaro. Great Clips driver Brad Sweet will take the lucky winner for a ride around the track in their new prize!

Debut of a new look for the No. 38 Great Clips Chevy… Say goodbye to the traditional red, black and white colors that Great Clips has sported on the No. 38 machine since the 2000 season, its first year as primary sponsor in the NNS. The new design, which will be the paint scheme for 2013, features vibrant colors and angular shapes based on Great Clips’ newly branded salons.

Look your best this weekend at PIR… When the gates open for the weekend at PIR, Great Clips stylists will have their scissors in hand and will be offering free haircuts to race attendees. Just stop by the Great Clips display! Donations will be accepted with all money raised going to Project H3. Project H3 was established to provide aid for long-term, vulnerable homeless veterans and their families. For more information see their website: http://www.azceh.org/project-h3

Kahne at PIR… Kasey Kahne will wheel the No. 38 Great Clips Chevy in this weekend’s Great Clips 200. Kahne has six NNS starts at the one-mile track and is credited with one pole, one top-10, an average start of 10.7, an average finish of 18.0 and a total of 45 laps led.

In NASCAR Sprint Cup Competition, Kahne has one win under his belt (fall, 2011), along with two top-five and five top-10 finishes

Who’s on the pit box?… Trent Owens, who has led James Buescher and Nelson Piquet Jr. to NNS victories this season, serves as crew chief for the No. 38 Great Clips team with drivers Kahne and Sweet. A former driver himself, Owens is a long-time fixture in the NASCAR garage. Over the years, the Darlington, S.C., native has been successful working with a variety of drivers with different levels of experience and has visited victory lane with both rookies and veterans alike including Buescher, Piquet. Jr., Mark Martin, Dave Blaney and Reed Sorenson.

Kahne and Sweet: a unique combination… Not only are Kahne and Sweet good friends off the track, but the veteran is serving as a mentor to Sweet as he makes the transition from open-wheel competition to stock cars. Sweet was handpicked by Kahne in 2008 to drive for Kasey Kahne Racing (KKR) where he has since experienced tremendous success in the World of Outlaws Series. Sweet will continue to compete on a limited basis for KKR when he is not behind the wheel of the No. 38 Great Clips machine in the NNS. You can expect Kahne to be very involved and present in the NNS garage when Sweet is behind the wheel of the No. 38, as he will closely monitor his progress and offer encouragement.

Kahne brought Great Clips their first win! From 2003-2005, Kahne and his sponsor, Great Clips, Inc., reached momentous milestones, including capturing Kahne’s first Nationwide Series victory in 2003 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. It was also Great Clips’ first win as a primary sponsor. In 2005, Kahne captured his second career win at Texas Motor Speedway before leaving the Nationwide Series to allow more time for his Sprint Cup Series efforts.

Great Clips goes racing with the World of Outlaws in 2012! Great Clips also serves as primary sponsor for Kasey Kahne Racing (KKR) driver Joey Saldana in the World of Outlaws season. The Minneapolis-based company has been a sponsor of KKR for the past two seasons. This year, they are featured on all three KKR entries – as a primary sponsor on the #9 with Saldana as well as associate sponsor placement on Brad Sweet’s #49 and Cody Darrah’s #5 World of Outlaws cars.

12 Years and Counting… Great Clips, Inc. is currently the longest-running sponsor in the NNS and has used the Nationwide Series as their primary marketing platform for the last 11 years. Their sponsorship began in 2000 with Akins Motorsports as they climbed on board to sponsor the team’s No. 38 entry with driver, Christian Elder. Mark Green piloted the No. 38 for one season before general manager, Doug Stringer, hired up-and-coming talent, Kasey Kahne, thereby solidifying Great Clips’ commitment to their NASCAR sponsorship.

Kahne on racing in the Great Clips 200

“It’s gonna be a great weekend at Phoenix with Great Clips as the title sponsor of Saturday’s race. I’m looking forward to seeing all of the franchisees from the area as well as those that are coming from the corporate office in Minneapolis. I’m going to do everything I can to win this race for them! They are due a trip to victory lane and this is certainly the perfect weekend for it.”

Kahne on the keys to success at PIR

“You need good forward drive off the corner and getting your car to turn all day off the corner will be the key at Phoenix. Each corner drives differently and you really have to have your car set up well in order to be competitive.”

The Allgaier Comeback Tour Picks Up Steam – Justin Allgaier and the BRANDT Racing team did just what they needed to do over the weekend in Texas, and that was erase the point deficit between them and fifth spot in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) point standings. It was a heads-up pit strategy call from crew chief Jimmy Elledge at the end of the race that put Allgaier in a position to score his 19th top-10 finish of the season and gain nine points on Michael Annett. Allgaier now has two races to make up the additional points needed to overtake the fifth position.

Allgaier at Phoenix – Allgaier has made eight starts at the one-mile Phoenix International Raceway and scored seven top-15 and four top-10 finishes. The Illinois-native has completed 99.9 percent of the laps he’s attempted (1603/1604) and boasts an average start of 14.9 coupled with an average finish of 11.0. In the spring race, Allgaier finished 15th after starting 13th.

Already Things Heating Up in Miami – On Monday, Allgaier joined NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) teammate Nelson Piquet Jr. as the duo headed to Homestead-Miami area in advance of Championship Weekend. The pair did morning media and then headed to Speediatrics (Betty Jane France Children’s Emergency Center at Homestead Hospital), Air Base Elementary for a pizza party and PATCHES (a children’s day care) to meet with kids.

Look Your Best at Phoenix – When the gates open for the weekend at Phoenix International Raceway, Great Clips stylists will have their scissors in hand and will be offering free haircuts to race attendees. This Week’s Impala – This weekend, Allgaier will drive TMS-320 in the Great Clips 200 at Phoenix International Raceway. Chassis 320 has become a BRANDT team favorite at mile tracks, having been used at the spring Phoenix race (15th), Richmond I (15th) and II (13th), Iowa I (sixth) and II (second) as well as New Hampshire (eighth).

Allgaier on heading out west to Phoenix one more time:

“We didn’t exactly have the race we wanted to out here in the spring, but this track hasn’t been the same for me since the reconfiguration. I really like the way it’s been redone, but it’s certainly different. The car we’re bringing back has been a solid one for this BRANDT team. We did really well with it in Iowa and I’m hopeful it still has another solid finish in it. I feel like after last weekend in Texas, we really have some momentum on our side to be able to get back those final few points and get back up to fifth in the point standings. Besides winning another race, that’s certainly our goal. We definitely want to finish out the season strong!”

“Lefturn”…Jason Leffler will make his second start in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) for 2012, both starts coming with Turner Motorsports. The NNS veteran also has numerous starts under his belt at the 1-mile desert tri-oval including a pair of second-place finishes (2000 and 2009). Leffler is looking to score F.O.E. their third overall NASCAR win of the 2012 season.

Welcome Back… Turner Motorsports partner Fraternal Order of Eagles returns to the No. 30 Chevrolet Impala this weekend in Phoenix. F.O.E celebrated in victory lane with Buescher at Daytona International Speedway during the first race this season. As a follow up, F.O.E. got a second victory with Buescher in Kentucky, this time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS). The Fraternal Order of Eagles is an international non-profit organization, which unites fraternally in the spirit of liberty, truth, justice, and equality, to make human life more desirable by lessening its ills, and by promoting peace, prosperity, gladness and hope. The F.O.E. was founded in 1898 by six theatre owners gathered in a Seattle shipyard to discuss a musician’s strike. After addressing the matter, they agreed to “bury the hatchet” and form “The Order of Good Things.” As numbers grew, members changed the name to “The Fraternal Order of Eagles.” Presently F.O.E. membership is almost one million strong, with more than 1,700 local aeries in the U.S. and Canada. Women’s auxiliaries total more than 1,500, with more than 335,000 members. Among its many accomplishments the F.O.E. counts the founding of Mother’s Day and esteemed members include seven former U.S. Presidents.

This Week’s Impala…The No. 30 Fraternal Order of Eagles Chevrolet Impala team will unload a chassis TMS-319. The two previous starts with this chassis have been a 10th (Kasey Kahne) and 11th (James Buescher) respectively, both coming at Richmond International Raceway.

Last Race Recap…With NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) star, Ryan Newman the wheel the team went into the weekend with high hopes of a solid run. That was looking like a reality after running in or close to the top-10 most of the evening. It was just after the half-way point of the event when the first of two right front tire’s failed relinquishing Newman to a 19th-place finish.

Look Your Best at PIR… When the gates open for the weekend at Phoenix International Raceway, Great Clips stylists will have their scissors in hand and will be offering free haircuts to race attendees. Watch It LIVE…The Great Clips 200 can be seen live on Saturday, November 10th on ESPN. Race coverage will begin at 3:30 p.m. EST. The event can also be heard live on Sirius Satellite Radio, channel 90.

Leffler on returning to Phoenix International Raceway –

“I’m really excited that I get to work with Turner Motorsports and the whole No. 30 Fraternal Order of Eagles team again this weekend! I’m itching to get back behind the wheel, especially at a place where I’ve logged so many laps. I like the style of the new PIR, so I feel like we have a good shot to have a solid finish for F.O.E. and the Turner Motorsports team.”
