CHI-TOWN RACING: Elliott Sadler and the No. 11 OneMain Financial team return to Chicagoland Speedway this weekend for the NASCAR Nationwide Series Dollar General 300 presented by Coca-Cola. Sadler heads to the 1.5-mile track with eight Nationwide Series starts, including a win from 2012, two top-five and four top-10 finishes. Sadler also brings experience from the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series with 10 starts and one top-10 finish.LOOKING BACK: Starting from the outside pole position in the July 2013 event at Chicagoland Speedway, Sadler jumped out in front of the field early in the event. The driver refused to relinquish control of the lead for 81 laps, but was shuffled back on one of the final restarts and crossed the finish line in the fourth position.
LAST RACE: Richmond International Raceway: Sporting a special paint scheme to honor NASCAR Hall of Fame Inductee Jack Ingram, Elliott Sadler was poised to take on his home track of Richmond International Raceway. Starting from the 17th position in the retro No. 11 OneMain Financial Toyota, Sadler and the Joe Gibbs Racing team fought a plethora of handling problems. Working this way through the field, Sadler was able to hold on to finish ninth under the lights for the Nationwide Series’ 1000th-event.
MEET SADLER: Sadler will host a fan meet and greet on Friday, September 13th at 11 a.m. at the OneMain Financial branch at 3078 Caton Farm Road in Joliet, Ill. Fans will have the opportunity to meet Sadler, participate in giveaways and take photos with the No. 11 show car.
THINK PINK: The OneMain Financial driver will sport pink Oakley driving shoes throughout the entire Nationwide Series season to show support for breast cancer awareness and honor his mom, Bell. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007, and is now a survivor. This season, he will also wear special pink Oakley driving gloves.
