POST OF THE WEEK

From @TeamChevy prior to GEICO 400 at Chicagoland Speedway – “Jamie McMurray is the only driver to complete at least 99% of laps run this season. (7,314 of total 7,384) – That’s awesome! #NASCAR #SprintCup #racing #fact #TeamGanassi”

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR NEW HAMPSHIRE SPEEDWAY

Jamie McMurray and No. 1 Linksys Team

Chicagoland Recap: NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) teams headed to the “Windy City” and Chicagoland Speedway for the first race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.  The No.1 McDonald’s team would endure the rainy conditions that forced a five hour, 10 minute red-flag as weather pushed through the area on Sunday.  Jamie McMurray and the No. 1 team would persevere with an ill-handling race car to a lead lap and finish 19th.

McMurray at New Hampshire: Jamie McMurray has 21 previous starts at the NHMS in NSCS competition.  McMurray’s best start of third came in 2003 and his best finish of third came in 2010.  He has four top-10 and two top-five finishes with an average start of 21.6 and average finish of 22.8.  McMurray has completed 5877 of 6270 (93.7%) laps of competition and has led 32 laps in the Granite State.  On his first visit to NHMS this season, McMurray qualified 11th and finished 12th.

Going Wireless: The No. 1 Chevrolet SS driven by Jamie McMurray will sport a new look this weekend at NHMS.  Linksys will be the primary sponsor on the car with a blue, white and black paint scheme.  Linksys has pioneered wireless connectivity since 1988 with its leading innovation and engineering strategies, and best-in-class technology, design, and customer service. Linksys enables a connected lifestyle for people at home, at work and on the move, and with its award-winning products, simplifies home control, entertainment, security and Internet access through innovative features and a growing application and partner ecosystem.

Juan Pablo Montoya and No. 42 Target Team

Chicagoland Recap: The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series battled Mother Nature Sunday at Chicagoland Speedway as rain delayed the start of the race and then caused a five-hour red flag period before the halfway point. Juan Pablo Montoya and Team Target started in the third position and was running mid-pack when contact with the No. 30 changed the outcome for the team. Montoya would settle for a 32nd-place finish.

Annoying Orange: Montoya is quite the character; at least he is in the Cartoon Network show called The High Fructose Adventures of the Annoying Orange.  He and fellow NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) driver Carl Edwards will be featured in the hit show on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 8:00 pm ET.  Montoya’s character, Juan Papaya, takes part in the adventures as he battles against Hero Carl, Orange, Nerville and other characters in a Cherr-iot race.

Montoya at New Hampshire Speedway: Montoya has made 13 career NSCS starts at NHMS which include two pole awards, one top-five and two top-10 finishes. He has an average starting position of 16.4 and an average finishing position of 20.5 and has completed 3834 out of the 3862 possible laps (99.3%) at NHMS.

Hit the Bullseye: Leave something at home and need it in a pinch there’s no need to worry, Target has all of your race day essentials. Stop by the local Target by the track at 80 Damante Dr. Concord, NH 03301 or call ahead to see if they have what you need (603) 227-0809.
