Blake Koch Post Race: Boyd Gaming 300

Las Vegas, NV (March 9, 2014) – Blake Koch and the No. 44 TriStar Motorsports Camry were ready to get on track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday after having a fast car during Friday’s practice sessions. The team made slight adjustments during practice to get prepped for the Boyd Gaming 300.

 

When the green flag dropped for qualifying Koch and Crew Chief, Greg Conners, made the decision to wait until their were less cars on track for Koch to make his first qualifying lap. During his first laps on track, Koch came on the radio and said, “Man, this is a fast car!”

 

At the end of segment one, Koch was scored in 11th position and would advance to segment two where he qualified 18th. The No. 44 TriStar Motorsports crew was ready for the green flag to drop for the Boyd Gaming 300.

 

Koch battled a tight racecar in the beginning laps of the race, but the crew made the proper adjustments needed to get the car back to race conditions. During the first green flag pit stop, Koch overshot the pit box and the crew had to get the car back in the box to make the four tires and fuel pit stop.

 

At the halfway point, Koch was running 23rd and was working his way through the field. With 28 laps to go in the Boyd Gaming 300, the No. 44 TriStar Motorsports Camry was running 20th. Blake Koch and the No. 44 TriStar Motorsports Camry finished 20th during the third race of the 2014 season.

 

Next weekend, the TriStar Motorsports team is heading to Bristol Motor Speedway for the Drive To Stop Diabetes 300 presented by Lilly Diabetes.
