Auto-Owners Insurance Joins HScott Motorsports For Multiple Races

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (August 20, 2014) – HScott Motorsports is pleased to announce that Auto-Owners Insurance will sponsor the No. 51 Chevrolet SS driven by Justin Allgaier in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) at Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS) and Martinsville Speedway (Martinsville). The two-race sponsorship marks the first time Auto-Owners has been involved in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

Auto-Owners Insurance, a Fortune 500 company, is the 15th-largest insurer in the country, based on written premiums. Headquartered in Lansing, Michigan, Auto-Owners Insurance employs more than 4,200 associates. The company is comprised of five property and casualty companies and a life company, and writes business in 26 states through 6,200 local independent agencies.

“We are pleased to announce our sponsorship of the No. 51 Sprint Cup Series team and driver Justin Allgaier,” said Jeff Harrold, chairman and CEO of Auto-Owners Insurance. “It’s exciting for us to be backing such a promising young driver early on in his Sprint Cup career. We’re looking forward to the Atlanta and Martinsville race weekends.”

“I welcome Auto-Owners Insurance as part of our family of partners that make HScott Motorsports more and more competitive each week,” said Harry Scott Jr., owner of HScott Motorsports. “This is their first time as a sponsor in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and the commitment of such a quality company speaks volumes about both HScott Motorsports as a race team and our driver Justin Allgaier.”

Allgaier, who is running for the Sunoco Rookie of the Year award in the NSCS this season, will be making his first-career NSCS start at AMS, and second NSCS career start at Martinsville. Allgaier has five NASCAR Nationwide Series starts at AMS and has led 15 laps.

“Having Auto-Owners Insurance on the car at Atlanta and Martinsville is a big deal to me and the entire team,” said Justin Allgaier. “It’s great to have such a large company, and one with a lot of history, on my car in the coming weeks. I can’t thank Jeff and his entire company enough for their support.”

The Oral-B USA 500 at AMS will take place on August 31, 2014 and will air at 7:30 p.m. EDT on ESPN. The Goody’s Headache Relief Shot 500 at Martinsville will take place on October 26, 2014 and will air at 1:30 p.m. EDT on ESPN.
