Coca-Cola 600 | May 24, 2015

Back-to-Back Short Tracks…The Coca-Cola 600, the longest race on the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series calendar, is next on the docket for Michael Annett and his No. 46 Pilot Flying J Chevrolet team. Annett will take to the 1.5-mile Charlotte Motor Speedway this Sunday evening fresh off of a 23rd-place finish at Kansas Speedway, another 1.5-mile track, two weeks ago. Annett is in search of his 13th top-25 finish in the last two years at tracks 1.5 miles or larger.

Honoring Army Cpl. Michael E. Thompson…In observance of Memorial Day, all NASCAR teams will feature the name of a fallen service member on the car’s windshield during the Coca-Cola 600. Annett’s No. 46 will be adorned with the name of Army Cpl. Michael E. Thompson of Harrah, Okla., who perished in a 2008 helicopter crash during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Annett’s History at Charlotte…In NASCAR Xfinity Series competition, Annett scored six top-15 finishes in 10 starts at Charlotte Motor Speedway, including two 10th-place finishes in his three most recent attempts. He finished 28th in the 2014 Coca-Cola 600.

Michael Annett on Charlotte Motor Speedway:
“Keeping up with the changes to the track when it goes from day to night is the biggest challenge with this race. Cars handle so much differently from beginning to end, so, like every other team, we need to stay on top of that. The car that can sustain the most speed and adjust to the track the best is a good bet to win.”
