ADVANCE NOTES

Stenhouse at Pocono Raceway

Stenhouse has five Sprint Cup starts at Pocono Raceway with an average starting position of 20.2 and average finishing position of 27.0.

In his first career start at the ‘Tricky Triangle’, Stenhouse Jr. won the ARCA race in 2008.

Earlier this Year at Pocono

After leading the Roush Fenway Racing qualifying efforts at the ‘Tricky Triangle’, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was running 17th when his Ford suddenly shot into the outside wall sending Stenhouse to the garage. After repairs Stenhouse settled with a 42nd-place finish in Sunday’s race at Pocono Raceway.

On the Car

The No. 17 Fusion carries the Ford EcoBoost colors this weekend in Pocono. Ford EcoBoost technology combines smaller overall size with turbocharging, direct injection and variable valve timing to bring customers outstanding performance and fuel economy.

Stenhouse Jr. on racing at Pocono:

“We had a decent car last time we were at Pocono but had a brake issue during the race which we now have resolved. Pocono is a unique track because of its three distinct corners. We need to have a solid run this weekend and gain back some points we lost at Indy. This race usually comes down to pit strategy so hopefully we will have the right strategy and leave Pocono with a solid finish.”

Nick Sandler on racing at Pocono:

“I like challenges and Pocono is very challenging because each turn affects your car differently. Earlier this year, we saw that track position was key so we will focus on our qualifying setup on Friday. This year we’ve had solid runs going and then something happens so we need a little luck on our side and hopefully we can leave Pocono with a solid finish.”
