ADVANCE NOTES

Reed at Michigan

Ryan Reed has competed at Michigan International Speedway (MIS) twice in the NASCAR XFINITY Series. In 2014, Reed finished 11th after starting 24th. In this race last season, Reed finished 19th after starting in the same position.

Riding with Ryan

American Diabetes Association® representative and diabetes advocate Nathan Stock will ‘ride’ along with Roush Fenway Racing driver Ryan Reed during this weekend’s race. The Byron Center, Mich. resident will have his name featured on a decal above the passenger-side window of the No. 16 Ford Mustang.

Like Reed, Stock lives with diabetes and knows the importance of staying healthy to manage his diabetes. He was diagnosed at age 13 and has diligently managed his diabetes through insulin therapy, exercise and healthy eating to avoid any complications and trips to the hospital. Also like Reed, he grew up with the dream of being a racecar driver. Today, Stock is a wellness specialist and helps others manage their health. This weekend, Stock will have the opportunity to meet Reed and watch the race from atop the No. 16 Lilly Diabetes/American Diabetes Association pit box.

Reed in 2016

Reed is scored 10th in the NASCAR XFINITY Series Championship standings after 12 races. He has led eight laps for the season and has recorded an average finish of 18.2.

Pocono Recap

Reed and the No. 16 team finished 33rd at Pocono Raceway on Saturday after blowing a tire and receiving hard contact from an oncoming racecar, ultimately ending their day.

Reed on Michigan

“Coming to Michigan is always special since it’s in Roush Industries’ backyard and we get a ton of people out at the track supporting the team. Our team has always been good at MIS and I think just about every driver loves this place because of the speeds we carry here. We’ve had a rough season so far and I would love more than anything to turn it around this weekend at a track that is so special to Jack (Roush) and our company.”

Meet Reed
Reed and teammate Bubba Wallace will sign autographs for fans at the Roush Automotive Collection Open House in Livonia, Mich. on Thursday, June 9th from 5 – 7 p.m. ET. The event will also feature a car cruise-in, tours, a drag race simulator, door prizes and an engine build competition. The Open House runs 5 – 8 p.m. More details can be found here or by calling 734-779-7276.

The two will also speak with fans at the Ford Display at MIS on Saturday, June 11th at 8:15 a.m. ET.
