Michael McDowell Looking to Rebound at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

Circle Sport – Leavine Family Racing to Feature Patina Rat Rod Paint Scheme for Bad Boy Off Road 300

CONCORD, N.C. (September 21, 2016) – NASCAR Driver Michael McDowell and Circle Sport – Leavine Family Racing (CSLFR) are looking forward to returning to New Hampshire Motor Speedway with a new set-up package and data after a mechanical issue during the New Hampshire 301 in July turned the race into a test session for the growing team.

Despite an alternator failure that caused McDowell to bring the car into the garage area multiple times during their first visit the “Magic Mile” this season, the team was able to make the most out of the weekend by using the race as a test session and preparing a new set-up for the upcoming Bad Boy Off Road 300.

McDowell is also looking forward to heading to Loudon after the team blew a right front tire at Chicagoland Speedway last weekend, relegating them to a 37th place finish. CSLFR has captured seven Top-20 finishes this season, and hope to add on to this list at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

“The last time we were in Loudon we had a mechanical issue with the alternator, but we had a really great car,” said McDowell. “It was actually the best we’ve been at a short track, so we feel good about going back there. When the alternator kept breaking in the race, it gave us the opportunity to turn the race into a test, so we tried quite a few different things and feel like we came up with a good package for this upcoming race.”

The team is also excited to unveil the No. 95 Patina Rat Rod Chevrolet SS for this weekend’s Bad Boy Off Road 300. The car will feature a Patina style, rustic paint scheme with a custom logo on the hood inspired by classic Chevrolet hot rods famous to the New England area.

“We felt that running a tribute to Rat Rods at the ‘Magic Mile’ would be a fun way to pay tribute to the New England area, a hotbed for modifieds,” said Jeremy Lange, VP at CSLFR. “We are excited about the paint scheme and hope the race fans enjoy it.”

McDowell is looking forward to running this week’s paint scheme, as the Rat Rod style cars are an interest of his.

“I’ve been wanting to build a Rat Rod for years, so this paint scheme is something I’m really excited about,” said McDowell. “We wanted to create something as a tribute to our fan base, and I really think this is something a lot of our fans can identify with and get excited about as we head back to Loudon.”

The Bad Boy Off Road 300 will take place on Sunday, September 25 at 2:00 P.M. ET. Fans can tune-in to NBCSN for live coverage and follow us @CSLFR95 for race updates.
