I was Running
Overall, Roush Fenway has run well at the Alabama track, starting a total of 250 races and earning seven victories, 38 top-five and 84 top-10 finishes, six poles and 1,397 laps led across the NSCS, NASCAR XFINITY Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS).
Winning in Greenbow
Roush Fenway has won in all three of NASCAR’s major series at Talladega. The team won its first race at Talladega in the NSCS event in the spring of 1995. Former Roush Fenway driver Mark Martin won for the organization in all three series at the 2.66-Mile oval.
Tale of the Tape – That’s All I Have to Say About That
Roush Fenway has started 194 NSCS races at Talladega, recording a total of four victories, 31 top-five finishes, 67 top-10 finishes, an average finish of 18.7 and has led 1,029 laps. Former Roush Fenway driver Matt Kenseth earned the organization’s most recent victory at Talladega in the fall of 2012.
Roush Fenway’s Recent Strength with Plates
The Roush Fenway restrictor-plate program has experienced a rejuvenation in recent seasons. The organization won two of the four restrictor-plate races in 2012 and has won five restrictor-plate races overall in the NSCS dating back to 2009. Most recently in the XFINITY Series, Roush Fenway drivers Ryan Reed and Chris Buescher finished first and second in the 2015 NASCAR XFINITY Series season-opening event at Daytona International Speedway.
Roush Fenway Unrestricted
Roush Fenway has run a total of 397 Sprint Cup races with restrictor plates, earning 11 victories, 70 top-fives, 141 top-10s and has led 2,047 laps.
Fastest Chicken in the South
Former Roush Fenway driver and NASCAR Hall of Fame Inductee Mark Martin won the fastest NSCS race ever recorded on May 10, 1997 at Talladega piloting the No. 6 Ford. Martin, who held off fellow Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt, started from the 18th position and led 47 laps en route to the victory. The race saw 26 lead changes and had an average speed of 188.354 mph.
2,000 Fans “Ride with Trevor”
The AdvoCare Ford driven by driver Trevor Bayne will have a different look this weekend at Talladega as the faces of 2,000 race fans will adorn the blue and red Fusion as part of a “fan mosaic.” Bayne paced the field for 22 laps in the spring event at the 2.5-mile superspeedway before taking the checkered flag in the 10th position.
