Scott Steckly and his 22 Racing/Canadian Tire team hoped for a top ten finish today in event eight of the eleven race NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 and they came away with a clean race car and a ninth place finish.

Graham Rahal's surge in the second half of the Verizon IndyCar Series season continued with an emphatic victory in the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio. Rahal, who started 13th in the 90-lap race in the No. 15 Steak 'n Shake Honda for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, corralled his second victory of the season and third of his Indy car career.

In his final NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway, Jeff Gordon improved his chances for championship playoffs with a solid third place finish in his No. 24 AARP Member Advantages Chevrolet SS. Gordon slipped into the top-five and then into third as several race leaders ran out of fuel with less than three laps to go at the 2.5- mile track dubbed the “Tricky Triangle”. It was Gordon’s 32nd top-ten finish at Pocono, and moved him to 10th in the overall point standings with just five races before the cut-off to the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
Greg Biffle drove his No. 16 Roush Performance Ford Fusion to a fifth-place finish at Pocono Raceway. Biffle had worked his way into the top 10 and was able to capitalize on pit strategy, stretching fuel mileage to the end. Biffle ran out of fuel coming to the white flag, but was able to coast his way to a fifth-place finish while many others had to pit for fuel.
Trevor Bayne, driver of the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion, was battling for a top-20 position before striking a piece of debris entering Turn One on Sunday afternoon in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) event at Pocono Raceway, ending the Roush Fenway Racing driver’s afternoon just past the halfway point of the event.
