Aric Almirola, driver of the No. 43 Smithfield Ford Fusion, addressed the media this morning before NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practice at Kentucky Speedway and talked about not only this weekend’s race, but his chances of making the Chase field for the second straight year.
In a race that ended five laps short of its scheduled distance, polesitter Matt Crafton was declared the winner of Thursday night’s UNOH 225 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event after Ben Kennedy’s Toyota damaged the catchfence at Kentucky Speedway beyond the track’s capacity to repair it expeditiously.

When you look historically, Indy had been a pretty challenging race; a tough place to pass. And then you look at when IndyCar goes there and it’s one of the best races they have.
“I love it – just how rough the place is and all the different grooves that it’s had over the years. You definitely can move around and search for different grooves. It seems to promote side-by-side racing so hopefully we will put on a great show if we can get it in tonight.”
