NASCAR Cup Series

As part of Saturday night’s SpongeBob SquarePants 400, several drivers are sporting Sponge Bob character paint schemes in the race, including Ford drivers Michael McDowell and Greg Biffle. The duo were part of a media session to talk about the race and what it is like to represent the iconic Nickelodeon cartoon brand.

JGL Racing officials announced today that after last weekends event at Talladega Superspeedway they have parted ways with driver Eric McClure and Team McClure. McClure had piloted the team's No. 24 Toyota for the first nine races of the 2015 NASCAR XFINITY Series season.

“We have Stanley on the car this weekend, which is a lot of fun. They’ve been great to work with. We had a really great program in Texas with the Ace Hardware Foundation and the Miracle Children’s hospital, so it’s good to have Stanley back on board. You guys know how I look at this race track. This is my home track, it’s as close to home as I get to race. I have my buddy Cam in the back with his family."

DALE EARNHARDT, JR., NO. 88 NATIONWIDE CHEVROLET SS, met with members of the media at Kansas Speedway and discussed his visit to the Nationwide Children’s Hospital this week, his Dad’s relationship with Kansas City Royal’s coach Ned Yost and many other topics.

JEFF GORDON, NO. 24 AMERICAN RED CROSS CHEVROLET SS, met with members of the media today at Kansas Speedway. He discussed his record and expectations at Kansas, tire development, diversity in NASCAR and having American Red Cross on his Chevy SS this weekend.

ERIK JONES, No. 18 M&M’s Red Nose Day Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing - What are you doing to prepare for both the NSCS and NCWTS races this weekend? “I watched quite a few videos from last year’s race – not only on the Cup side, but the truck side too. Talked to Kyle (Busch), he won the Truck race here last year and on the Cup side he gave me a few tips.

Joey Logano, driver of the No. 22 Shell Pennzoil Ford Fusion, presented a check to Folds of Honor from his Joey Logano Foundation to help military families in need of education assistance. After the presentation, Logano met with media members Friday morning at a soggy Kansas Speedway and fielded one question pertaining to the race weekend.

Clint Bowyer is probably looking forward to this weekend‘s race at Kansas Speedway more than most. The Emporia, Kan. native will spend the days leading up to Saturday’s SpongeBob SquarePants 400 visiting some favorite places in his home state.
