Marcos Ambrose comes back to Watkins Glen staring at a shot to make the 2014 Chase for the Sprint Cup championship directly in the face. With five of his six NASCAR wins (3 in Nationwide and 2 in Cup) coming at the track, Ambrose is the favorite to take home checkers this weekend. Ambrose discussed what lies ahead for him this weekend with media members at the track Friday morning.

AARP and AARP Foundation’s nationwide campaign to address the problem of older adult hunger through the Drive to End Hunger program will return with 11-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champions Hendrick Motorsports in 2015 as a primary sponsor of driver Jeff Gordon and his No. 24 Chevrolet SS team.

Kellogg Company and its Cheez-It brand are readying for one of its biggest weekends of the season as the NASCAR circuit rolls into Watkins Glen International Speedway. Not only will Cheez-It serve as the entitlement sponsor of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race on Sunday, but it will also boast primary paint schemes on the No. 60 Ford Mustang driven by Roush Fenway rookie Chris Buescher in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, as well as the No. 99 Ford Fusion driven by Carl Edwards on Sunday.

Today JTG Daugherty Racing announced Kimberly-Clark Corporation extended their sponsorship of the No. 47 Chevrolet SS with driver AJ Allmendinger through the 2017 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season with their SCOTT®, Viva®, Kleenex®, Cottonelle® and Huggies® brands.

Pure Michigan announced the results of the Pure Michigan 400 honorary starter contest today, naming Lowell Broesamle (pronounced bray-zum-lee) of Munith, Michigan as the 2014 Pure Michigan 400 honorary starter. Broesamle will wave the green flag at Michigan International Speedway on August 17.
