Richard Childress Racing's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series history at Daytona International Speedway ... Dating back to 1976, Richard Childress Racing has won 11 poles and collected five points-paying victories at the most-storied race track on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series circuit.

They might as well go ahead and rename that Kentucky track Kesetucky. That boy dominated Saturday night’s race from start to finish. Sure, he let team mate Joey Logano, a ninth place finisher, run shotgun for a lot of the race, got the lad some camera time to make the sponsors happy.

1. Jimmie Johnson: Johnson finished tenth in the Quaker State 400, posting his 12th top 10 of the year. He is second in the points standings, 24 behind Jeff Gordon.

Brad Keselowski outran the field with his Team Penske Ford powered by Roush Yates Saturday night at Kentucky Speedway to claim his second win of the season. Keselowski drove through the field over the final 47 laps making him the first two-time winner at the 1.5 mile speedway in three years.

From the jaw-jarring bumps of the old pavement in which Kentucky Speedway takes such pride, here is what was surprising and not surprising from the 4th Annual Quaker State 400 presented by Advance Auto Parts.

The Quaker State 400 failed to live up to its expectations, as expected. From my vantage point behind my television screen and microphone, attendance looked poignant. The state of NASCAR is a sad one, but fans and NASCAR should share the blame.

Greg Biffle drove his No. 16 3M ACE Brand Ford Fusion to a 14th-place finish under the lights at Kentucky Speedway. Biffle started the 267-lap event 24th and worked hard on handling throughout the race. In the final laps, the 3M Ace Brand Ford was fast on long green flag runs giving Biffle the advantage to gain positions in the closing laps.

Richard Childress Racing teammates Ryan Newman, Paul Menard and Austin Dillon finished third, 15th and 16th, respectively.

Chevrolet’s Ryan Newman continued to build on a solid and consistent season at Kentucky Speedway by finally breaking through in the Quaker State 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup race to earn his first top-five finish of the season to come home third. The driver of the No. 31 Caterpillar Chevrolet SS led a contingent of Chevrolet power in the top-10, six teams strong. Newman’s third-place run marks his best career finish at the 1.5-mile Sparta, Kentucky track, and his third top-10. The strong run kept Newman in eighth position on the chart, making him the second highest driver in the current standings without a win this season.

Kyle Busch (second) was the first Toyota driver to the finish line in Saturday night’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race at Kentucky Speedway.
