Following a long and winding road, Joey Logano finally owns the biggest prize in motorsports. The driver of the No. 22 Team Penske Ford capped off a memorable season in fitting fashion – by capturing the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series championship with a victory in Sunday’s Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Ford Championship Weekend lived up to its name today as Ford claimed both major titles in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Kevin Harvick will be chasing his second career Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series championship on Sunday at Homestead.  After Fridays qualifying, Harvick was not satisfied with his No. 4 Jimmy John’s Ford in qualifying trim.

Mark Rushbrook, global director, Ford Performance Motorsports was part of an OEM press conference this morning at Ford Championship Weekend in which he discussed this season’s success and the possibility of winning two titles in tomorrow’s Ford EcoBoost 400.

KEVIN HARVICK, No. 4 Jimmy John’s Ford Fusion -- “We’ve just been off as far as getting the front tires to turn today in qualifying trim and that’s all we’ve done. The Jimmy John’s Ford was just plowing tight the first time we went out, chattering the tires. We made it better the second round and then the third round it was just too tight in one and two down there, where we were okay in the first two rounds. We got tight down there and still tight down there, so we’ll go to work on it. We didn’t qualify that good here last year either, so we definitely need to figure out what we’ve got to do in qualifying trim, but hopefully our race stuff is good.”

DENNY HAMLIN, No. 11 FedEx Express Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing - Qualifying Position: 1st - What is the secret to qualifying at Homestead? “We made the right adjustments. We kept tuning on it and getting a little better. We got off there in that second round, but just made the right adjustments, I hit my marks and that was it."

HOMESTEAD, FL – All the talk during the weekend is on how the Championship 4 drivers feel about their chances of winning the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Championship. But  Friday morning NASCAR held a press conference to share a different perspective from the owners and top executives on their championship journey.

The 70th season of NASCAR is drawing to a close. After 38 weeks and 35 races, Ford Championship Weekend is upon us. Four drivers in each national touring series will race tonight, Saturday and Sunday to win the championship.

Martin Truex Jr.’s No. 78 Bass Pro Shops/5-hour ENERGY Toyota will have familiar look in this weekend’s season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
