Chase Briscoe captured the NASCAR Cup Series pole for Saturday’s Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway after posting a qualifying lap of 181.822 mph in the No. 14 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford. It marks Briscoe's second Cup Series career pole.

This weekend the NASCAR Cup Series travels to Daytona International Speedway for the regular season finale to determine the 16-driver field of the Playoffs.

William Byron took charge early and dominated in the Hendrick Motorsports No. 24 Chevrolet, winning the Go Bowling At The Glen, his fifth win of the year.

The 25-year-old Byron from Charlotte, North Carolina, led a race-high 66 of 90 laps en route to his fifth Cup Series victory of the 2023 season at The Glen.

The 29-year-old Wallace from Mobile, Alabama, occupies the final Playoff vacant spot by 32 points over rookie Ty Gibbs approaching the regular-season finale of the 2023 season.

Two former NASCAR Cup Series champions secured 2023 Playoff spots based on points following the penultimate regular-season event at The Glen.

Denny Hamlin claimed the NASCAR Cup Series Pole at Watkins Glen International with a 125.298 mph lap in the No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota. It is his fourth pole this season and his second at the 2.45-mile track.

Thirteen drivers have clinched a spot in the Cup Series Playoffs - Martin Truex Jr., Denny Hamlin, William Byron, Christopher Bell, Kyle Larson, Ross Chastain, Ryan Blaney, Chris Buescher, Kyle Busch, Tyler Reddick, Joey Logano, Michael McDowell and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. With only three open spots in the 16-driver field, the competition promises to be intense.

Kyle Larson: Larson finished eighth at Indy's road course. "This race had everything," Larson said. "Five road course ringers, one road course 'Dinger,' and several road course fingers, which is what you get when you run another driver off the road."

The 2021 Daytona 500 champion from Glendale, Arizona, led a race-high 54 of 82 laps and became the 13th different competitor to claim a 2023 Cup Playoff berth by claiming his second series triumph at the Brickyard.
