Bobby Labonte, driver of the No. 32 Rimrock Devlin Ford Fusion, spoke to media members at Talladega Superspeedway Friday afternoon following the opening Cup Series practice session. Labonte spoke about sponsorship for the weekend and also fielded questions pertaining to the race and his future.

Jamie McMurray topped the chart in first Sprint Cup Series practice at Talladega Superspeedway. The driver of the No. 1 Jamie McMurray was the fastest in the first practice session with a time of 47.943 and a speed of 199.737 mph.

Carl Edwards – who has won the last two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races – is now targeting a third win on Sunday’s GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. Edwards has led the most laps in the past three contests. Now all shall see if he will take a checkered flag from Talladega, a track where he has not triumphed before.

This week, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series makes its first of two trips to the Alabama roulette wheel in Lincoln, Alabama known as Talladega Superspeedway. The 188 lap race on the 2.66 mile (4.28 km) superspeedway will be the 10th race of the 2016 season.
