The NASCAR Cup Series heads to Talladega Superspeedway this weekend for the second race in the Playoffs Round of 12. Hendrick Motorsports driver, William Byron, secured his spot in the next round with a win at Texas Motor Speedway last Sunday and can breathe easy as NASCAR heads to the unpredictable 2.66-mile track.

The 32-year-old Preece from Berlin, Connecticut, took to SiriusXM NASCAR Radio to announce that he will be returning for a second full-time Cup Series season with SHR in 2024.

William Byron took charge on the final restart, overtaking Chase Briscoe and Bubba Wallace for the lead on Lap 262. Byron held on to win the AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Texas.

The 25-year-old Byron from Charlotte, North Carolina, led the final six of 267-scheduled laps and overtook pole-sitter Bubba Wallace during a six-lap shootout to notch his sixth Cup victory of the 2023 season and deliver a milestone victory for Hendrick Motorsports.

Bubba Wallace earned his first pole of the season Saturday afternoon at Texas Motor Speedway with a qualifying lap of 188.337 mph. It was his first pole of the season and the second career pole for the driver of the 23XI Racing No. 23 Toyota.  

Heading to Texas, the Cup Series Playoff action will continue with the first race in the Round of 12 as William Byron, Martin Truex Jr., Denny Hamlin, Kyle Larson, Chris Buescher, Kyle Busch, Christopher Bell, Tyler Reddick, Ross Chastain, Brad Keselowski, Ryan Blaney and Bubba Wallace continue their quest for the coveted 2023 Cup Series championship.

The 29-year-old Blaney from High Point, North Carolina, is primed to achieve a milestone start in his eighth full-time season in NASCAR's premier series.

Each year when the NASCAR Playoffs start, fans ask who will win the championship. One driver who is always in these conversations is Denny Hamlin, the driver of the No. 11 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Denny Hamlin started second at Bristol, overcame an early pit lane speeding penalty and stormed back to win the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol.

The three-time Daytona 500 champion led 142 of 500 laps and rallied from a Lap 70 pit road speeding penalty to lead the final 134 laps and win the Playoff's Round of 16 finale under the lights at Thunder Valley.
