It’s crunch time for the NASCAR teams with just three races to go this season. All three national series take on Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday and Sunday, while the ARCA Menards Series West is back on track this weekend with a doubleheader.

Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM) announces today that Erik Jones will join the organization in 2021 as the driver of the No. 43 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE in the NASCAR Cup Series (NCS), made famous by NASCAR Hall of Famer Richard Petty.

The middle race in the Round of 8 takes place this weekend after Ford drivers captured two of the three openers in Kansas. Chase Briscoe took the NASCAR XFINITY Series race and Joey Logano followed that up in the NASCAR Cup Series to clinch Championship 4 berths for both drivers. We’re headed back to Texas this weekend in the No. 34 Love’s Travel Stops | Speedco Ford Mustang. Love’s (Travel Stops) has been on board with us for the past seven races and Speedco, which is part of the Love’s family of companies, was last on with us at the Charlotte ROVAL.

Newman will make his 35th Cup start at Texas this weekend. In 34 prior starts, Newman has an average finish of 18.4 with one win, three top five and six top-10 finishes.

Stewart-Haas Racing announced this morning that Ford Performance development driver Chase Briscoe will replace Clint Bowyer as driver of the No. 14 HighPoint.com Ford Mustang in the NASCAR Cup Series for the 2021 season.

Buescher will make his 11th Cup start at Texas on Sunday, where he has an average finish of 21.8. Dating back five years, Buescher has a best finish of 15th, which came in the spring of 2018.

When Ford Performance announced on Jan. 12, 2017 that Chase Briscoe had been signed as its first development driver, the hope was he would one day end up in the NASCAR Cup Series.

Joey Logano, won the Hollywood Casino 400 on Sunday, securing a spot in the NASCAR Cup Series Championship 4 for Team Penske and Ford Performance.
