Ross Chastain has run only three NASCAR races at Talladega Superspeedway, but he has an interesting history at the track. Chastain finished third in a Camping World Truck Series race at NASCAR’s biggest track in 2013, showing that he quickly picked up the intricacies of running well in Talladega’s big drafting lines.

Rookie Ryan Preece, riding along 17th in Xfinity Series driver points at this early stage of the season, gets a big new test Saturday. Preece will race for the first time at super-fast Talladega Superspeedway in Saturday’s Sparks Energy 300 Xfinity race.

Garrett Smithley will run his first NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Talladega Superspeedway Saturday, but he won’t start the event with zero experience. Smithley raced in an Automobile Racing Club of America event in 2014 at the giant 2.66-mile track. He finished 18th.

Jeremy Clements returns to Talladega Superspeedway with Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet and BRT Extrusions back on board the #51 JCR Chevy Camaro SS for the Sparks Energy 300.

NASCAR’s “Two-Round” qualifying procedure will be in effect this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway when both the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) and the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) return to the biggest and baddest track on the planet this Saturday, April 30.

Whether you watch the races in person or from the comfort of your own home, one thing remains consistent from track to track, the lack of spectators in attendance. It's no secret that NASCAR has been struggling with attendance in recent years.

In just his third start at NASCAR's biggest track, Jeb Burton and the No. 43 J. Streicher team continue to work each week toward the NASCAR XFINITY Series Chase. Following a 19th-place finish at Richmond last weekend, Burton moved up one spot in the Championship Points Standings, now sitting in 11th place. The Top-12 drivers following the first 26 races are eligible to compete for the Championship in the Chase elimination-style playoff format.

Brandon will be making his first career NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Talladega Superspeedway. He does have three career starts in the ARCA Series at the Talladega track including a trip to Victory Lane in 2012. This event will be McReynolds second career XFINITY Series start and his first since 2010.

Dakoda will be making his third career NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Talladega Superspeedway to go along with two prior starts each in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the ARCA Series. He won the ARCA Series event in 2010 after starting from the pole.
