Fans coming to the AXALTA Faster. Tougher. Brighter. 200 race at Phoenix International Raceway on Saturday, March 12 will have the opportunity to attend a Q & A session with Jeff Gordon, the legendary former driver of the No. 24 car. The event will be held on the Main Stage on the Fan Midway at PIR and is open for anyone with a grandstand ticket.

Ross Chastain has fond memories of Phoenix International Raceway. In 2013, Chastain came very close to victory lane in a Camping World Truck Series event, finishing a tight second. The race is one of four on his career worksheet at the one-mile track.

Race weekend entertainment for the Good Sam 500 at Phoenix International Raceway will feature two new concerts as DJ Michaeliswill throw a ‘Spring Break After Party’ following the AXALTA Faster. Tougher. Brighter. 200 on Saturday, March 12, while Christopher Shayne will entertain fans post-qualifying for Gatorade Pole Day on Friday, March 11.

Dakoda will be making his fifth career NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Phoenix International Raceway to go along with one Camping World Truck Series start at the track. Armstrong has a best XFINITY Series finish of 18th at the Phoenix track which he has done three times.

CGR in XFINITY at PIR: PIR was the sight of CGR’s first XFINITY Series win with driver Jamie McMurray in 2004. McMurray led four times for 47 laps that day. In 14 XFINITY Series starts CGR drivers have combined for one win, two top-five and five top-10 finishes.

TJ will be making his sixth career NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Phoenix International Raceway to go along with three previous starts in Camping World Truck Series competition at the one-mile track. He most recently competed at the track last fall for JGL Racing.

KYLE CONTINUES CAMRY LEAD: Toyota driver Kyle Busch leads the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) point standings by six points over second-place Jimmie Johnson after three races this season. Busch is the only driver in the series to earn three consecutive top-five finishes this year, and is on a current streak of seven straight top-fives dating back to last season. The Las Vegas native has recorded 13 top-10 finishes in 21 career NSCS starts at Phoenix International Raceway, where the series heads this weekend.

Richard Childress Racing's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series history at Phoenix International Raceway ... Team owner Richard Childress has five victories at Phoenix International Raceway, ranking him third on the all-time car owner victories list at the Avondale, Ariz. facility.
