Since the last time NASCAR visited the Finger Lakes area of upstate New York there’s been some significant changes around the track. During the off-season the track completed the installation of new grandstands in several locations around the track.

“Chicago is another track I really enjoy going to during our summer swing. It’s a fun 1.5-mile speedway. It’s got a lot of character, so the racing always seems to be exciting. We get another shot to qualify for the Dash 4 Cash program this weekend, so that’s our goal. I want to be racing for that $100,000 bonus again in Indy next week.

This Sunday's STP 300 marks the first time Truex will step behind the wheel consecutive weeks in 2012. The 20-year-old Joe Gibbs Racing driver has two prior starts at the mile and half speedway. He boasts a strong average starting position of 6.5, and has never qualified outside the top 10.
