First-time race fans have no fear, with the 10 Day- Blockbuster of Racing at full throttle, there is more than just on-track action on the schedule as the biggest Memorial Day Weekend celebration in the country kicks off, starting Thursday, May 22 with LiftMaster Pole Night. From special performances to exclusive parties with fun the whole family can enjoy, first-time fans are sure to have the ultimate race experience here at Charlotte Motor Speedway. With so much to see and do, here are the top 10 must-see activities to do this weekend at the legendary speedway.

The Delaware Office of Highway Safety and Dover International Speedway have teamed up for the “Buckle Up 200 presented by Click It or Ticket” NASCAR Nationwide Series race, set for 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2014.

Fans with tickets to the Coca-Cola 600 can enjoy an extra dose of family fun and fitness with the Coca-Cola Family Track Walk on Friday, May 23 at 2:30 p.m. The event will be headlined by up-and-coming country music star Chase Rice, currently touring with Dierks Bentley, who will perform hits like his current single “Ready Set Roll.”

Clint Bowyer claimed the top spot in the 29th running of the Sprint Showdown, racing his way into contention for NASCAR’s largest purse.

Michigan International Speedway is the fastest track in NASCAR. And now thanks to a partnership with Binder Park Zoo, the speedway is associated with the fastest animals. Binder Park Zoo, located in Battle Creek Michigan, is the official sponsor of the MIS Kids Club.

The McDonald’s Rock and Race Concert will feature Saints of Valory and IAMDYNAMITE at Michigan International Speedway on Saturday, June 14.

Track and Explore is an innovative partnership between Adrian College and Michigan International Speedway, designed to enhance education in STEM – science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

SAE International will hold its annual Formula SAE® competition at Michigan International Speedway on May 14-17. The competition has been held at MIS since 2008.
