Phoenix International Raceway President Bryan R. Sperber announced today the completion of a pre-event track grooming program in advance of the November 11 AdvoCare 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Race, the semi-final race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup.

During the Classic 3 Champion race weekend at Rockingham Speedway, I was able to spend a few minutes speaking with Danny “Chocolate” Myers, legendary gas man for Dale Earnhardt. Myers was there to wave the green flag and give the command to start engines for the inaugural running of the three championship races.

Johnny Sauter won Friday nights NASCAR Camping World Truck Series WinStar World Casino 350 at Texas Motor Speedway. Sauter took over the lead with 11 laps remaining and captured his second win of the season (both at Texas) and the sixth of his career.

Halfway through Saturday’s Kroger 200 at Martinsville the championship hopes of James Buescher were slowing slipping away. Buescher was dropping through the field and soon a lap down as his No. 31 Great Clips Chevrolet refused to grip the racetrack.

HALF-MILE HAPPENINGS: Camry driver Kyle Busch registered a runner-up result in Sunday afternoon's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race at Virginia's Martinsville Speedway. Busch started third in the Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) No. 18 M&M's Halloween Camry at the half-mile short track and ran among the top-10 much of the race.

In a joint announcement today at the 2012 AAPEX Conference and Exhibition in Las Vegas, Florida-based Green Earth Technologies (GET) joined the stable of Official NASCAR Green Partners. GET’s G-CLEAN® pressure washers and environment-safe cleaning products and degreasers for concrete, home siding and outdoor mold and mildew stain removal, will offer NASCAR fans a green alternative to use on their homes.

It was announced today that Miguel Paludo's red No. 32 Chevrolet Silverado will sport a different look in the upcoming NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) races at Texas Motor Speedway and Phoenix International Raceway, switching to a special blue paint scheme in honor of World Diabetes Day. The truck will feature the blue circle logo for World Diabetes Day, Paludo's son Oliver's name above the passenger side door and a collage of diabetes statistics and resources.

Consider it batting practice or a nice warm-up for tomorrow’s Cup event at Martinsville. That’s what Denny Hamlin seemed to do on Saturday afternoon as he went out and won the Camping World Truck Series event, muscling his way past Matt Crafton with six laps to go.

Virginia native Denny Hamlin takes the checkered flag after driving from the rear of the field. Hamlin qualified fifth, but missed the drivers meeting which was taking place after the start of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) practice.

Denny Hamlin took the long way to his second straight win in the Kroger 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway Saturday afternoon.
