NY Giants & Gotham FC Co-Owner Emily Tisch Sussman’s ‘She Pivots’ Enters Motorsports with NASCAR Trailblazer Dystany Spurlock

The first-of-its-kind partnership brings together a leading voice in women’s sports and a history-making racer to accelerate change on and off the track.

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Dystany Spurlock’s historic racing journey has attracted support from one of the most influential women in sports.

She Pivots, the award-winning podcast and women-focused media brand founded by Emily Tisch Sussman—co-owner of the NFL’s New York Giants and Gotham FC of the National Women’s Soccer League—will sponsor Spurlock’s ARCA Menards Series entry at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park on July 24.

The partnership marks the first-ever athlete sponsorship for She Pivots, bringing together two trailblazers actively working to expand opportunities for women in traditionally male-dominated spaces.

Coming from one of the most prominent families in professional sports, Tisch Sussman has built She Pivots around spotlighting women who have shown that success isn’t defined by a one-size-fits-all formula. That mission aligns naturally with Spurlock’s rise through stock car racing, where she recently became the first Black woman to compete in NASCAR’s developmental ARCA series and in one of NASCAR’s three national touring series.

“Motorsports has never looked like Dystany Spurlock, and that’s exactly why She Pivots is showing up for her,” said Tisch Sussman. “She is the only Black woman in the world competing at this level, and she’s doing it on her own terms. That’s not just breaking barriers, that’s blowing them up. She Pivots was built on the belief that women don’t have to make history alone, and this sponsorship is me putting that belief into action.”

For Spurlock, the alliance goes beyond a traditional sponsorship. She describes it as a shared commitment to visibility, access, and representation, and sees clear synergy with Tisch Sussman, a respected sports owner, entrepreneur, and advocate who has built a career around elevating women and challenging the status quo.

“Emily is a disruptor. She Pivots is a disruptor,” Spurlock said. “They love supporting people who are paving their own path, and that’s exactly what we’re doing in racing.”

Spurlock herself continues to break new ground in a sport where diversity has historically been limited. Her efforts have been supported by Foxxtecca, a Detroit-based experiential media and events company operating at the intersection of mobility, culture, and technology, co-founded by Chris Harris and Kellie Crawford.

“It’s one thing to have a mission statement on a website, but it’s another thing to truly live it out and use your resources to ensure it is actually executed. Emily and the She Pivots podcast talks the talk and most importantly, they back it up with action. We respect it, and we’re grateful for that,” said Crawford.

Tisch Sussman and Spurlock were introduced earlier this year by film producer Crystal McCrary at one of Gloria Steinem’s famed Talking Circles—intimate gatherings where participants are encouraged to connect, share, and collaborate. The two quickly discovered a mutual passion for creating opportunities and helping others succeed, forming a connection rooted in the belief that women can achieve more together.

“When women gather, doors open for each other,” Spurlock added. “This partnership is proof of that.”

On track, Spurlock has delivered impressive results with MBM Motorsports and Garage 66. She earned a seventh-place finish in her ARCA East debut at Hickory Motor Speedway, followed by a top-10 finish in her first ARCA national race at Kansas Speedway. In just five starts across the ARCA platform this season, she’s recorded four top-15 finishes.

Before transitioning to stock cars, Spurlock made her mark in motorcycle drag racing, becoming the first woman to win the Real Street class in the XDA Motorcycle Drag Racing Series and setting a world record in the process. In 2025, she also became just the second Black woman to compete in the NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle category; she’ll suit up again this year for two of the NHRA’s premier events: the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis and the Texas NHRA FallNationals in Dallas.

Her journey is also being documented in Driven by Dystany: The Road to NASCAR, a docuseries produced by Foxxtecca. The series has helped draw national attention to her story, building fans and supporters as she continues to break new ground in motorsports.

Comparing Midsize SUVs for 2026: Which One Fits Your Lifestyle?

Shopping for a midsize SUV in 2026 can be surprisingly difficult. Most models offer strong safety ratings and plenty of features, but they are not all designed for the same type of buyer.

Some focus on comfort. Others prioritize value, efficiency, or driving enjoyment. Understanding those differences can make the buying decision much easier. Read on to learn how to choose the best midsize SUV for 2026 and what makes each of the most popular models stand out.

What Makes a Great Midsize SUV in 2026?

With so many midsize SUVs on the market, narrowing down the choices can be challenging. Before making a decision, it helps to focus on a few key factors:

  • Comfort and ride quality. Don’t hesitate to take a test drive. In many cases, you’ll know within the first few minutes whether a vehicle feels right.
  • Technology. Buyers should look for intuitive infotainment systems, wireless smartphone connectivity, and modern driver-assistance features that make everyday driving easier and more enjoyable.
  • Interior space and practicality. Cargo capacity and overall versatility can make a big difference, especially for families and frequent travelers.
  • Fuel economy and ownership costs. Efficiency and long-term expenses remain important considerations for many shoppers.
  • Reliability and long-term value. Some buyers plan to keep their SUV for years, making dependability and resale value key factors in the decision.

Nissan Murano: Best for Comfort and Refinement

The 2026 Nissan Murano is aimed at drivers who value a smooth ride and premium feel. Its suspension tuning favors comfort over sportiness, making it an excellent choice for commuting and long-distance travel. Today’s buyers can use a 2026 Nissan Murano overview to compare features and see which trim level best fits their needs.

One of the Murano’s standout features is Nissan’s available NASA-inspired Zero Gravity seats. Designed to reduce fatigue, they provide excellent support during extended trips. Combined with impressive cabin insulation, they help create one of the quietest interiors in the segment.

Technology is another strength. Dual 12.3-inch displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Google built-in integration, adaptive cruise control, and a comprehensive suite of safety systems make the Murano feel modern without becoming overly complicated.

Unlike some competitors that focus on sporty handling or maximum cargo space, the Murano prioritizes everyday comfort and refinement. That combination makes it one of the strongest choices for drivers who spend a lot of time behind the wheel.

Approximate starting price: $41,000.

Who should buy it?

Drivers who spend a lot of time on the road and want maximum comfort without moving into luxury-brand territory.

Hyundai Santa Fe: Best Value for Families

The redesigned Hyundai Santa Fe offers one of the roomiest cabins in the segment. Its boxy design improves cargo capacity and makes it easier for families to carry luggage, groceries, and sports equipment.

Technology is a major selling point. The available panoramic curved display, advanced driver-assistance systems, and hybrid powertrain give the Santa Fe a premium feel while keeping ownership costs reasonable. Standard equipment is generous even on lower trims.

The Santa Fe also provides a comfortable ride and practical interior layout, making it one of the most versatile choices in the midsize SUV category. Buyers looking for maximum features and space for the money will find a lot to like.

Approximate starting price: $35,000.

Who should buy it?

Families looking for maximum space, modern technology, and overall value.

Honda Passport: Best for Long-Term Reliability

Honda’s Passport focuses on practicality rather than flashy styling. Its naturally aspirated V6 engine and proven mechanical components have helped build a reputation for long-term dependability.

Passenger space is generous, and the infotainment system remains easy to use. The Passport also offers good ground clearance and available all-wheel drive, making it suitable for light off-road adventures and changing weather conditions.

Many buyers appreciate the Passport because it emphasizes durability and low ownership stress rather than chasing the latest trends. Owners who plan to keep their SUV for many years often place Honda near the top of their shopping list.

Approximate starting price: $44,000.

Who should buy it?

Owners who prioritize reliability and expect to keep their vehicle well beyond the warranty period.

Kia Sorento: Best Choice for Efficiency

The Kia Sorento stands out because of its flexibility. Buyers can choose from conventional gasoline engines, hybrid models, and plug-in hybrid versions depending on their needs.

Available third-row seating gives the Sorento an advantage over some competitors, making it attractive to larger families. Modern infotainment systems, multiple USB ports, and advanced safety technologies help it compete with more expensive vehicles.

Fuel economy is one of the Sorento’s strongest attributes, especially in hybrid form. For buyers who want efficiency without sacrificing practicality, the Sorento offers an impressive balance.

Approximate starting price: $33,000.

Who should buy it?

Families seeking strong fuel economy and additional seating flexibility.

Mazda CX-70: Best for Drivers Who Enjoy Driving

Mazda has given the CX-70 a more premium personality than most mainstream competitors. High-quality materials, elegant styling, and thoughtful interior design create an upscale atmosphere.

Performance is another strength. The available turbocharged inline-six engine delivers strong acceleration, while precise steering and responsive handling make the CX-70 one of the most enjoyable SUVs to drive in its class.

The firmer suspension may not be as relaxing as the Murano’s, but many buyers appreciate the added sense of control and driver engagement. For shoppers who want premium character without entering luxury-brand pricing, the CX-70 deserves serious consideration.

Approximate starting price: $41,500.

Who should buy it?

Drivers who want sporty handling, premium materials, and a more engaging driving experience.

Which SUV Should You Choose?

There is no single winner for everyone.

If comfort is your highest priority, the Nissan Murano stands out thanks to its quiet cabin, smooth ride, and Zero Gravity seats. Families seeking maximum value should consider the Hyundai Santa Fe. Buyers focused on reliability may prefer the Honda Passport. The Kia Sorento is ideal for those who want efficiency, while the Mazda CX-70 appeals to drivers who enjoy a more engaging driving experience.

Understanding your priorities is ultimately more important than chasing specifications. The right midsize SUV is the one that best fits the way you drive every day. Every model brings something different to the table, and identifying what matters most to you will help ensure long-term satisfaction with your purchase.

TOYOTA RACING Weekly Preview 06.10.26

This Week in Motorsports: June 8 – 14, 2026
NCS/NOAPS/ARCA: Pocono Raceway – June 12-14

PLANO, Texas (June 10, 2026) – NASCAR’s Cup and O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, joined by the ARCA Menards Series, head to the “Tricky Triangle” at Pocono Raceway for stock car’s annual summer trip to Pennsylvania.

NASCAR National Series – NCS/NOAPSS

Hamlin looks for third straight win … Arriving at Pocono Raceway this weekend, Denny Hamlin and his No. 11 Toyota Camry XSE for Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) will go for their third straight win for the first time in his career – following consecutive triumphs at Nashville Superspeedway and Michigan International Speedway. Hamlin’s win last weekend at Michigan, his second straight there, was the 63rd of his Cup Series career, which tied him for ninth of the all-time wins list with Kyle Busch. Hamlin also returns to one of his best tracks in Pocono, where he’s won seven times, a track record, as well as earned 17 top-fives and 24 top-10s in 36 career starts around the three-turn, 2.5-mile oval. In fact, Hamlin captured his first career Cup Series win at the “Tricky Triangle” 20 years ago tomorrow on June 11, 2006.

Briscoe seeks Pocono repeat … In last year’s 400-mile Cup Series race at Pocono, Chase Briscoe captured his first win with Toyota and JGR by saving enough fuel at the end to take the checkered flag. The driver of the No. 19 Toyota Camry XSE led a race-high 72 laps that day and took home his first of three victories last season, which propelled him into a Championship 4 appearance. A repeat win this weekend would be Briscoe’s first triumph of 2026.

Jones continues strong run in No. 43 … A runner-up finish last Sunday at his home track in Michigan marked the best result for Erik Jones in the Cup Series since his Southern 500 win in 2022. Jones has now finished inside the top-12 in four of the last five points-paying races, dating back to Texas Motor Speedway in early May. Pocono offers a great track for Jones to continue his strong form, as the driver of the No. 43 Toyota Camry XSE has five top-fives and eight top-10s in 14 career Pocono starts.

Crews eager to build off career day in Nashville … After leading a career-high 45 laps and tying his career-best finish of second at Nashville Superspeedway two weeks ago, Brent Crews returns to his No. 19 Toyota GR Supra looking to build off that momentum. The Toyota Development Driver has made 12 O’Reilly Series starts this season, bringing home five top-five and eight top-10 finishes. Crews also sits 14th in the series point standings, just 15 points behind “The Chase” cutline despite running four less races so far this year.

Gray looks to continue Pocono success … In his young O’Reilly Series career, Taylor Gray has made the most of his starts at Pocono. In two races, the driver of the No. 54 Toyota GR Supra has finished inside the top-10 in both races, with a fifth-place finish in 2024 and ninth last season. Gray is currently 12th in the series point standings, holding the final spot for “The Chase.”

NASCAR Regional Series – ARCA Menards Series

Toyota brings another strong ARCA lineup … In this weekend’s ARCA Menards Series race at Pocono, Team Toyota will once again be well-positioned to take the checkered flag. For the second straight week, Gio Ruggiero will pilot the No. 18 Toyota Camry for JGR, making his fifth start in ARCA this season. The 19-year-old Massachusetts native is coming off his third ARCA win of the season with his triumph at Michigan last weekend. Joining Ruggiero in the Toyota lineup this weekend is Jade Avedisian, who makes her third national series start this weekend piloting the No. 15 Toyota Camry for Nitro Motorsports after running the West Series race at Tri-City last weekend. Avedisian scored a seventh-place finish at Kansas Speedway in her most recent national series start. Toyota Development Drivers Isabella Robusto and Thomas Annunziata will be in the No. 55 and 70 entries for Nitro Motorsports, with points leader Jake Bollman in the No. 20 and Gavan Boschele in the No. 25 as well in the Nitro stable.

Zilisch was impressive on intermediate tracks in 2025. He scored four victories: Pocono, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Dover Motor Speedway and World Wide Technology Raceway and collected nine top-five finishes.

Connor Zilisch

“I’m excited to go back to Pocono. Last year was really cool. That was my first oval win in the O’Reilly Series and JR Motorsports has always had a lot of success there. It’s going to be a lot of fun to go back and see if we can do it again with Rodney (Childers), and the No.1 team. Last year I had Dale Jr. as my crew chief and that was a pretty unique weekend. Pocono is one of my favorite tracks in the O’Reilly Series cars. Running double duty is always fun for me, and getting track time is valuable for me on these tracks that I haven’t been to a lot. Christopher Bell cleared to compete at Pocono

Photo by Tim Jarrold for SpeedwayMedia.com.

Christopher Bell has received medical clearance to compete in the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series’ Great American Getaway 400 event at Pocono Raceway on Sunday, June 14.

The announcement was made by Bell’s team, Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR), through social media on Tuesday, June 9. It also occurred two days after Bell, the 2024 Coca-Cola 600 champion from Norman, Oklahoma, was involved in a late, vicious accident.

It occurred while Bell was racing up front in this past Sunday’s Cup event at Michigan International Speedway. During a Lap 148 of 200 restart, Bell was dueling with Chase Elliott for the runner-up spot when Elliott slipped beneath Bell. The move sent both competitors hard against the outside wall in Turn 4. The incident not only damaged both Bell and Elliott’s entries beyond repair, but it also damaged the wall that was impacted. As a result, the Michigan event was placed in a red flag period for more than 20 minutes.

Both Bell and Elliott managed to exit their respective entries under their own power and were taken to the infield care center to be evaluated. During the post-race activities, Joe Gibbs, team owner of Joe Gibbs Racing, said that Bell suffered ankle and wrist injuries that required further evaluation this week.

From JGR’s updated message on Tuesday through social media, the organization confirmed that Bell suffered a fractured left wrist, as X-rays verified the fracture. Despite the fracture, Bell has been medically cleared to return to action behind the wheel of JGR’s No. 20 Toyota Camry XSE entry for the upcoming event at Pocono.

Bell also released a short message through social media while responding to JGR’s message.

Bell, who ended up in 31st place of the 37-car field following his accident at Pocono, dropped three spots in the 2026 driver’s standings to 10th place. He is 81 points above the top-16 cutline to be in contention to make the 2026 Chase for the Cup, as 11 races are remaining to this year’s regular-season stretch.

Currently, Bell has notched five top-five results, six top-10 results, 398 laps led, and an average-finishing result of 16.6 through the first 15 of 36 races into the 2026 Cup season. In eight previous starts at Pocono, he holds an average finishing result of 16.4 and four top-six results as he strives to achieve both his first Cup victory at Pocono and the 2026 season.

The 2026 Great American Getaway 400 at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania, is scheduled to occur this upcoming Sunday, June 14, at 3 p.m. ET on Prime Video, MRN Radio, SiriusXM, and HBO MAX.

The SUPERGRIP NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals is the ninth event on the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series’ 20-race calendar in 2026. Jim Dunn Racing brings its one full-time entry in Funny Car for Jeff Arend. A native of Canada, Arend moved to Southern California in 1997.

As the NHRA celebrates its landmark 75th season in 2026, Jim Dunn Racing is celebrating 76 years of success in drag racing. Jim started drag racing when he was 15 years old and at 92 years old, he plans to keep going as long as he can. In 2024, Jim received the NHRA Lifetime Achievement Award. He has won some of the sport’s most significant races and has provided driving opportunities for some of the biggest names in the sport.

Coming into Bristol, Arend is 16th in the Funny Car standings, 492 points behind leader Ron Capps (The final round in both Top Fuel and Funny Car from the NHRA New England Nationals were postponed due to weather and will be completed on Friday in Bristol.)

KGC (Kindness General Contractors) Construction is the primary partner of Arend this weekend in Bristol. KGC, is a full service general contracting firm designed to manage and facilitate a complete range of construction projects. They are responsible for a diversified portfolio of projects with a wide range of construction value and provide customers with what is most important to them: short schedules, unmatched quality and superior flexibility. At KGC, they understand that every project, regardless of size, requires a commitment to quality, attention to detail, and the ability to act and react with speed, efficiency and intelligence. They strive to provide a hassle-free experience to all their clients and look to form lasting partnerships built on mutual respect and trust.

In celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary, Jim Dunn Racing will be running a special patriotic scheme at the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals. Arend also represented KGC Construction at last weekend’s NHRA New England Nationals in Epping, New Hampshire.

The NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals will mark Arend’s 257th career Funny Car appearance, and his third Funny Car appearance on behalf of Jim Dunn Racing at Bristol Dragway. His two previous appearances for the team came in 2013 and 2014.

Arend will be making his fifth appearance of the season at the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals and the 46th appearance of his career in a Jim Dunn Racing Funny Car. Arend was eliminated in the first round at Bristol in 2013 and 2014 for Jim Dunn Racing. This will be his first appearance at Thunder Valley since a 2014 first-round loss to Del Worsham. Arend was Funny Car runner-up to Gary Scelzi at Bristol in 2005 and reached the semifinals before losing to Robert Hight in 2011.

The late Al Hofmann took a Jim Dunn Racing Funny Car to the final round in the team’s first appearance in the Thunder Valley Nationals in 2001, losing to Gary Scelzi in the final round after beating John Force in the semifinals.

Last year, Buddy Hull upset No. 1 qualifier and eventual series champion Austin Prock in the first round at Bristol before losing to Paul Lee in the quarterfinals. It was Jim Dunn Racing’s second straight first round upset of Prock and John Force Racing (after earlier following the same script at Epping, New Hampshire).

Having back-to-back races, teams will be going from 157 feet of elevation in Epping, New Hampshire to 1,676 feet in Bristol, Tennessee. What challenges will that present from a tune-up perspective with tricky weather and track conditions?

“I am really looking forward to Bristol and driving the Jim Dunn Racing KGC Construction Dodge again. It’s such a beautiful car and we love representing America’s 250th birthday. We were able to get down the track twice in a row in New Hampshire and that will be a great baseline start for Thunder Valley. With the outlook for conditions at Bristol, I am confident we can run consistent 4.0’s (elapsed time) to get in the field. I am optimistic and the goal is to get into the high 3’s (ET) in the next two races.”

Race for Meals: driving hope for thousands of children at Le Mans

Austrian racing driver Ferdinand Habsburg, great-grandson of Emperor Charles I of Austria, will once again give special meaning to one of the most prestigious events in world motorsport, the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Ferdinand Habsburg

Every lap completed by the professional driver will help children supported by Mary’s Meals, a global charity providing school meals to more than three million children in some of the world’s poorest communities.

Following the success of the 2025 campaign, Race for Meals returns for a new edition. Endurance racing star Ferdinand Habsburg will take to the iconic Le Mans circuit on 13-14 June 2026, driven by a challenge that goes far beyond sporting competition: he is calling for supporters to sponsor each lap he completes with €22, the amount it costs Mary’s Meals to feed a child for an entire school year.

“I really embrace the vision of Mary’s Meals and I have seen the fruits of this work. I want to help wherever I can, and sports can play a role in bringing hope to the world” said Ferdinand Habsburg. “I want to ensure that these children no longer have to worry about where their next meal is coming from”.

In 2025, Habsburg and the generous supporters of the initiative helped provide meals for 1,760 children. This year, the Austrian driver is raising the bar with the ambitious goal of reaching even more children and supporting three schools in Malawi.

Before the start of the 2026 season, Habsburg visited Mary’s Meals’ school feeding programme in Malawi, where the charity has been serving daily school meals since 2003. During the visit, he met the pupils and teachers at the schools that were supported through last year’s campaign, witnessing first-hand the impact of the programme on children and their communities, while also gaining a deeper understanding of the significant challenges and unmet needs that remain across the country.

Today, more than a quarter of Malawi’s pre-primary and primary school children receive Mary’s Meals every school day (1.3 million children).[1] This support is particularly significant as fewer than half of children in Malawi complete primary school, while many families continue to face food insecurity, with 6.8 million people experiencing insufficient food consumption.[2]

“I sat with four-year-olds in a class, where we ate together on the floor, and I saw my nephew in their eyes as they played”, Habsburg recalled. “All I could think about was that it costs me 22 euros (as much as my breakfast this morning) for this young, playful boy to get food in this place for a whole school year!”

The endurance racer is one of Mary’s Meals’ Youth Ambassadors in Austria and actively encourages young people to engage with the charity in their own countries and become part of the mission. Supporters can already get behind his next challenge by sponsoring his laps at Le Mans and helping to provide life-changing school meals to children experiencing hunger.

The next race will take place on 13–14 June 2026, and the countdown is now on to see whether he can go beyond the 385 laps completed last year and reach even more children through the initiative.

8 Reliable SUVs Under $30K That Still Deliver Performance and Value

Buying an SUV used to mean choosing between practicality and driving enjoyment. Today, the market looks very different. Many SUVs now offer refined handling, strong safety records, advanced technology, and long-term dependability without forcing buyers into luxury-level pricing. For drivers balancing family responsibilities, commuting, road trips, and rising ownership costs, finding the right vehicle matters more than ever.

The good news is that the used SUV market still offers several standout options under $30,000 that combine reliability with real-world performance. Automotive experts consistently point to a handful of models that continue to hold their value because they deliver durable engineering, reasonable maintenance costs, and comfortable everyday driving experiences. Whether someone prioritizes fuel economy, cargo space, towing capability, or all-weather confidence, there are dependable options available without stretching the budget.

Toyota RAV4

The Toyota RAV4 remains one of the strongest choices for buyers seeking long-term reliability and balanced performance. Models from recent years offer impressive fuel efficiency, smooth ride quality, and advanced safety systems that make daily driving easier and more predictable. Toyota’s reputation for durability also means many used RAV4 models continue performing well even with higher mileage.

One reason the RAV4 stands out is its versatility. It works equally well for urban commuting, weekend travel, and family transportation. The interior design focuses on functionality without feeling outdated, while cargo capacity remains competitive in the compact SUV category. Buyers who choose all-wheel-drive versions also benefit from solid traction in difficult weather conditions.

Drivers searching for the best used SUV under $30K often prioritize low ownership costs, and the RAV4 consistently meets that expectation. Insurance rates, maintenance expenses, and resale value all contribute to its reputation as a practical long-term investment rather than simply an affordable purchase.

Honda CR-V

The Honda CR-V continues to earn recognition for combining comfort, efficiency, and reliability in one package. Used models under $30,000 often include desirable features such as adaptive cruise control, smartphone connectivity, and spacious cabin layouts that rival larger SUVs. The CR-V also delivers a driving experience that feels more refined than many competitors in its segment.

Honda engineered the CR-V with passenger comfort in mind. Rear seat space remains generous, making it ideal for families or drivers who regularly transport passengers. Cargo flexibility also adds value, especially for people balancing work equipment, groceries, sports gear, or travel luggage throughout the week.

Another strength of the CR-V is its reputation for consistent mechanical reliability. Automotive technicians frequently note the durability of Honda’s engines and transmissions when maintained properly. That reliability reduces uncertainty for used buyers who want confidence in their purchase without committing to luxury-brand maintenance costs.

Mazda CX-5

The Mazda CX-5 offers something many compact SUVs struggle to provide: genuine driving enjoyment. While practicality remains important, the CX-5 introduces responsive steering, composed handling, and upscale interior materials that create a more premium experience at a reasonable price point. Buyers who enjoy driving often gravitate toward this model because it feels more engaging than many competitors.

Inside the cabin, Mazda focused heavily on refinement. Soft-touch materials, supportive seating, and clean dashboard layouts help the CX-5 feel closer to an entry-level luxury SUV than a traditional mainstream option. Noise insulation also improves highway comfort, particularly during longer trips.

Performance-oriented buyers may appreciate available turbocharged trims, though even standard engines provide balanced acceleration and solid fuel economy. Importantly, the CX-5 achieves this without sacrificing reliability, making it a strong option for buyers who want value without giving up comfort or performance.

Subaru Forester

For drivers living in areas with heavy rain, snow, or rough roads, the Subaru Forester remains a practical and dependable choice. Subaru’s standard all-wheel-drive system has long been one of the brand’s defining advantages, giving the Forester strong traction and stability in challenging conditions.

Visibility is another major benefit. The Forester’s upright design and large windows provide excellent outward visibility, helping drivers feel more confident in traffic and parking situations. Families also appreciate the spacious interior and easy access for passengers entering or exiting the vehicle.

The Forester’s reputation for longevity continues to support strong demand in the used market. Outdoor enthusiasts especially value its versatility because it handles camping trips, mountain roads, and active lifestyles with ease. At the same time, fuel efficiency and reasonable maintenance costs help keep ownership practical for everyday use.

Hyundai Santa Fe

The Hyundai Santa Fe has evolved into one of the most well-rounded midsize SUVs available in the used market. Recent models feature modern styling, comfortable interiors, and technology packages that compete with more expensive brands. Buyers looking for a slightly larger SUV without exceeding a $30,000 budget often find strong value in the Santa Fe.

Comfort remains one of the Santa Fe’s biggest strengths. Seats are supportive, cabin noise stays relatively low, and suspension tuning prioritizes smooth everyday driving. This makes it particularly appealing for commuters and families spending significant time on the road.

Hyundai has also improved its reputation for reliability and warranty support over the years, increasing buyer confidence in used models. Combined with competitive pricing and generous features, the Santa Fe offers a balanced ownership experience that appeals to a wide range of drivers.

Ford Edge

The Ford Edge provides a comfortable middle ground between compact and full-size SUVs. Buyers seeking stronger engine performance and a spacious interior without moving into truck-based SUVs often find the Edge appealing. Many used models under $30,000 include advanced driver assistance technologies and upscale cabin features.

One advantage of the Edge is its quiet and composed highway ride. Long-distance drivers frequently appreciate the stable handling and supportive seating, particularly during extended travel. The available turbocharged engines also provide confident acceleration for merging and passing.

Unlike some larger SUVs, the Edge maintains relatively manageable dimensions for city driving and parking. That balance between interior space and everyday usability contributes to its popularity among buyers who want practicality without sacrificing comfort or performance.

Kia Telluride

The Kia Telluride quickly earned recognition as one of the most impressive midsize SUVs in recent years. Although newer models may exceed the $30,000 threshold, many earlier used examples now fall within reach for budget-conscious buyers seeking premium value.

The Telluride stands out because of its spacious three-row interior, upscale design, and strong feature list. Families benefit from generous passenger room, intuitive technology, and thoughtful storage solutions throughout the cabin. Even base trims feel refined and well-equipped compared to many competitors.

Industry reviewers and automotive publications consistently praised the Telluride for delivering near-luxury comfort at a mainstream price. That reputation continues to support strong resale demand, making it a smart option for buyers who want both practicality and long-term value retention.

Chevrolet Tahoe

For buyers needing maximum passenger capacity, towing ability, or cargo space, the Chevrolet Tahoe remains a dependable full-size SUV option. While fuel economy cannot match smaller crossovers, the Tahoe compensates with capability and durability that many drivers still prioritize.

The Tahoe’s truck-based platform gives it impressive towing strength, making it suitable for trailers, boats, or recreational equipment. Families who frequently travel with large groups also benefit from the spacious cabin and substantial cargo area.

Used Tahoe models under $30,000 often provide strong value because of their longevity and versatility. Properly maintained examples can continue operating reliably for many years, especially for drivers who need more capability than compact or midsize SUVs can provide.

Choosing the Right SUV for Long-Term Value

Finding the right used SUV involves more than comparing price tags. Reliability history, maintenance costs, fuel efficiency, safety features, and everyday comfort all play important roles in long-term satisfaction. Buyers who focus only on initial pricing sometimes overlook ownership expenses that matter just as much over time.

It is also important to match the vehicle to realistic lifestyle needs. Compact SUVs like the RAV4 and CR-V work exceptionally well for commuting and small families, while larger models such as the Telluride and Tahoe better support passengers, towing, and road trips. Drivers in colder climates may prioritize all-wheel drive, while urban drivers may value easier maneuverability and fuel savings.

A well-researched used SUV purchase can provide years of dependable service without exceeding a reasonable budget. The models listed above continue standing out because they combine trusted reliability with comfort, performance, and practicality in ways that make everyday ownership easier and more rewarding.

Conclusion

The used SUV market offers far more value today than many buyers realize. Strong competition among automakers has resulted in vehicles that deliver advanced safety, better fuel economy, refined interiors, and dependable performance even years after their original release. For shoppers staying under the $30,000 mark, that creates opportunities to own vehicles that still feel modern, capable, and comfortable.

Choosing the right SUV ultimately comes down to balancing priorities. Some drivers may value fuel efficiency and easy maintenance, while others need towing power, extra seating, or enhanced all-weather capability. The key is focusing on models with proven reputations for reliability and long-term ownership satisfaction. With careful research and a clear understanding of personal needs, buyers can confidently find an SUV that delivers both performance and lasting value.
