NASCAR HALL OF FAME AND TEAM PENSKE UNVEIL 19TH CAR IN ‘GLORY ROAD: 75 YEARS’ EXHIBIT

#2: Austin Cindric, Team Penske, Discount Tire Ford Mustang, Daytona 500 car Hall of Fame Glory Road

Daytona 500-Winning Discount Tire Ford Mustang Becomes First Next Gen Car in NASCAR Hall of Fame Display

CHARLOTTE, NC (April 4, 2023) — The NASCAR Hall of Fame and Team Penske today announced that the 2022 DAYTONA 500-winning No. 2 Discount Tire Ford Mustang is joining the NASCAR Hall of Fame’s ‘Glory Road: 75 Years’ exhibit. Proudly positioned at the front of the popular Glory Road display inside the NASCAR Hall of Fame, the Discount Tire Ford Mustang becomes the 19th and final car to join the fifth generation of the must-see exhibit. With 33 degrees of banking and featuring some of the most significant vehicles in NASCAR history displayed on the Glory Road “track,” the exhibit expands to 19 cars in 2023 for the first time in its history.

On Tuesday, Austin Cindric, driver of the No. 2 Team Penske Ford Mustang, joined Winston Kelley, Executive Director of the NASCAR Hall of Fame, Michael Nelson, President of NASCAR Operations for Team Penske, and Tom Williams, Executive Vice President and Chief Experience Officer for Discount Tire, to reveal the newest addition to ‘Glory Road: 75 Years.’

“It’s surreal to see a car with my name on it in the NASCAR Hall of Fame,” said Cindric, the 2022 DAYTONA 500 Champion and the reigning NASCAR Cup Series Rookie of the Year. “Winning the DAYTONA 500 is an amazing achievement for me, our team and our partners. So, to say this car is important to us, is an understatement. I know it will be in great hands. There’s a lot of history in that place. I’m proud to have it on display as part of the experience.”

‘Glory Road: 75 Years’ features a diverse display of historical machines that pays tribute to the people, cars and moments that have helped shaped NASCAR racing from its formative years to the current era, spanning the sport’s first 75 years. The addition of the Ford Mustang that Cindric drove to victory in last year’s DAYTONA 500 marks the first car from the Next Gen era to be featured in the display at the Hall of Fame.

“As the league celebrates its 75th anniversary this year, our team is proud to play a part in that history,” said Michael Nelson, President of NASCAR Operations for Team Penske. “When I look at all the cars on ‘Glory Road’ and I see the No. 2 Discount Tire Ford Mustang, it’s a reminder of our team’s hard work and the success that comes from their effort and dedication.”

Cindric’s historic victory – the first-ever by a rookie racer in the DAYTONA 500 – came in just his eighth start in NASCAR’s premier series. The win also serves as a key highlight of the partnership between Team Penske and Discount Tire, as the two organizations celebrate their 14th year together in 2023.

“It’s exciting to be here with Austin (Cindric) and the No. 2 Team Penske crew as we’re reunited with the DAYTONA 500-winning Discount Tire Ford Mustang to see it become a true part of NASCAR history,” said Tom Williams, Executive Vice President and Chief Experience Officer at Discount Tire. “We’ve enjoyed 36 wins and five Championships with Team Penske, and we look forward to achieving more milestones together in the seasons to come.”

Fans can view the Discount Tire Ford Mustang on display in ‘Glory Road: 75 Years’ during regular business hours at the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

Michael McDowell and the No. 34 Love’s Travel Stops Team

Bristol Motor Speedway Competition Notes

TEAM AND RACE NOTES:

Michael McDowell and the Love’s Travel Stops Ford team head to the dirt covered Bristol Motor Speedway this weekend.

The race will be the only dirt race of the season for the NASCAR Cup Series.

The team is coming off its first top-10 this past weekend and has moved up to 18th in the championship standings.

The race is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. ET Easter Sunday on FOX.

COMPETITION NOTES:

McDowell has been underappreciated on the dirt at Bristol. While other drivers with dirt backgrounds get the hype, McDowell has finishes of 12th and ninth on the dirt at Bristol.

The team has another great opportunity for a top-10 this Sunday.

CREW CHIEF TRAVIS PETERSON:

“This past weekend’s finish was huge for us. It was our first top-10 of the season. We can use the momentum because Bristol can be a tough race to prepare for. I am confident that our No. 34 Love’s Travel Stops team can get another top-10, but we’ll have to work hard. This is a tough race, but Michael has shown he is good there.”

DRIVER MICHAEL MCDOWELL:

“It has become a challenge, but one that I enjoy. I just work hard at it and that has paid off. It has been fun and we can have another great night. You just have to let the car, the race, and the track come to you. You really race that more than the competitors.”

Bristol Motor Speedway Competition Notes

TEAM AND RACE NOTES:

Todd Gilliland heads to the Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway this weekend to take on the Food City Dirt race with Speedy Cash riding along his side for the first time this season.

Gilliland heads to Bristol after extending his streak of top-15 finishes to three this past weekend at the Richmond Raceway.

Speedy Cash is again one of the anchor partners of Gilliland and the No. 38 Ford Mustang team in 2023. The Speedy Cash colors will adorn the No. 38 Ford Mustang this weekend and continue their primary races at the Dover Motor Speedway, Kansas Speedway, Pocono Raceway, Richmond Raceway, and conclude once again at the Bristol Motor Speedway night race.

Speedy Cash is an omni-channel lender that specializes in financial services such as installment loans, title loans, payday loans, personal lines of credit, check cashing, money transfers, and money orders. Speedy Cash is a part of the Community Choice Financial family of brands which includes CheckSmart, easymoney, Check Into Cash, California Check Cashing Stores, and more. The Community Choice Financial family of brands provide personal lending and ancillary services at over 700 stores nationwide and online.

The Food City Dirt Race will take place Sunday at 7:00 p.m. ET on FOX.

COMPETITION NOTES:

After bringing home another top-15 finish, Gilliland looks to keep the streak going this weekend at the Bristol Motor Speedway.

Gilliland finished 17th in his first start in the Bristol Cup dirt race. He has one win and three top-five finishes on dirt tracks (Knoxville, Bristol and Eldora) in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series.

CREW CHIEF RYAN BERGENTY:

“I like the direction the team is heading in. This past weekend was our third straight top-15 finish of the season. I know we can get more. The momentum keeps building as we extend our streak. Todd does really well on dirt. We just need to give him a great Speedy Cash Ford to get it done again.”

DRIVER TODD GILLILAND:

“We had a solid day at Richmond this past weekend. We’re making a lot of progress as a team and this streak is just what we need as we head to Bristol. I am excited about where we are at, but there is still a lot of progress to be made. Bristol is tough to prepare for, especially since there is no dirt setting on the sim, but I am confident that the momentum we have will carry over to this weekend.”

Bristol Motor Speedway Competition Notes

TEAM AND RACE NOTES:

Zane Smith and the No. 38 Speedco Ford F-150 team head to Tennessee to take on the dirt covered Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS) this weekend.

Action starts on Friday with two practice sessions followed by four, 15-lap heat races to determine the starting lineup on Saturday afternoon.

The Weather Guard Truck Race on Dirt will take place Saturday at 8:00 p.m. ET on FS1.

Smith is taking the Speedco colors with him again this weekend. He has two wins and a second-place result this year with the Love’s Travel Stops/Speedco branding.

COMPETITION NOTES:

After being wrecked while taking the lead at the Texas Motor Speedway in the SpeedyCash.com 250 this past weekend, the team is ready to rebound.

With two wins and a second-place finish in the first five races, Smith and crew have the speed they need to race up front. This weekend, however, is a curveball with the clay dirt covering the high-banked oval.

Smith has run two races on dirt at BMS with two top-10 results- a seventh and 10th.

CREW CHIEF CHRIS LAWSON:

“We approach the race just like any other, but we have to prepare the truck differently. You are preparing for dirt and trying to get the truck to roll through the turns.

“It’s just tough to predict what the track conditions will be like. It’s a challenging race.”

DRIVER ZANE SMITH:

“We’ve had good results, but not great. I’m still learning every time I get on the dirt at Bristol. It’s not something that we do each week. I’m just trying to get the best speed that I can. Chris (Lawson) and the guys have always had a good truck for me. I just want get a good finish and move onto other races where we know we are really strong at.”

Ford Performance – Bristol Motor Speedway Dirt Advance

BRISTOL MOTOR SPEEDWAY DIRT NOTES

Saturday, April 8 – NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, 7:30 p.m. ET (FS1)
Sunday, April 9 – NASCAR Cup Series, 7 p.m. ET (FOX)

Bristol Motor Speedway will be transformed this weekend into a dirt track for the third consecutive year as the NASCAR Cup and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series drivers compete in a pair of scheduled night races. Joey Logano won the inaugural event in 2021 while Ben Rhodes is looking to repeat his Truck win from a year ago.

Chase Briscoe: “I feel like a dirt race is something we definitely need in the Cup Series. Every Cup driver in the field was either a short track driver, road course guy or a dirt track guy growing up. We ran every other type of discipline up until Bristol started this a couple of years ago and it’s something I feel like we need to do every year. I think they’ve done a phenomenal job as far as getting the track prepared and allowing us to put on a good race. Hopefully, we can do it again this year.”

Harrison Burton: “I’ve gone there since I was a little kid and for me it was always concrete, so it’s weird to go there and have dirt all over it. We leave and then when we come back for the second race it’s all clean. You would expect there to be dirt everywhere because they put thousands of pounds of dirt on the track, but somehow it all disappears. I don’t really know how they do it, but they do a good job of it.”

Todd Gilliland: “I think seeing it for the first time was the biggest shock in the world. You can see pictures, but walking in there is just way different. To me, the whole weekend feels completely different, but I love dirt racing. It’s super fun to get out there and gas it and sling some dirt and go sideways. I’ve had a lot of fun with it over the last couple of years.”

FORD’S DIRT HISTORY IN CUP

Ford has 101 all-time dirt wins by 30 different drivers in the NASCAR Cup Series from 1955-1969 and 2021-Present. NASCAR Hall of Famer Ned Jarrett, who is Ford’s all-time leader in Cup wins with 43, also holds the record for most dirt wins for the manufacturer with 26. Fellow Hall of Famers Junior Johnson and Fireball Roberts are next on the list with 11 and 10 wins, respectively.

LOGANO TAKES INAUGURAL BRISTOL DIRT RACE

The first NASCAR Cup Series race on dirt in a half-century had to wait an extra day due to rain, and then endured an overtime session, before Joey Logano finally came away with the historic victory at Bristol Motor Speedway. Logano led 61 of the 253 laps in the Food City Dirt Race, driving his Mustang to a .554-second margin of victory in NASCAR’s first race on dirt since 1970. Logano took charge on lap 193, taking the lead away from Daniel Suarez who had just gotten past early race dominator Martin Truex Jr. Logano went on to win Stage 2 and then stayed in front the rest of the way, leading the final 61 laps for his first win of the season and third at Bristol.

SPEEDY THOMPSON CLAIMS FORD’S FIRST DIRT VICTORY

Ford’s first win on dirt in what is now known as the NASCAR Cup Series came on Oct. 9, 1955 when Speedy Thompson won a 250-lap feature on the 1.5-mile Memphis-Arkansas Speedway in LeHi, Arkansas. Thompson, driving a 1955 Ford, started 10th before he eventually passed leader Tim Flock on lap 43 and never gave it up. He led the final 158 circuits as he and Marvin Panch were the only two drivers to end up on the lead lap, giving Ford a one-two finish and its first victory in the Grand National Series since Shirtless Jimmy Florian won the manufacturer’s first race in 1950.

RHODES LOOKING TO REPEAT

As mentioned above, Ben Rhodes will be trying for a Bristol Dirt repeat after taking the checkered flag in last year’s event. Rhodes led two times for a race-high 95 laps and was especially strong at the start, as he topped the field for the first 91 laps before pitting during the Stage 2 break. He was forced to drive through the field after beginning the final stage in 13th place, but did so with four laps to go when he passed Carson Hocevar to secure the victory.

MAJESKI CLAIMS POINTS LEAD

FOR FIRST TIME

Four of the top-five spots belong to Ford after five races. Ty Majeski, coming off back-to-back top-five finishes at Circuit of The Americas and Texas Motor Speedway, now holds the top-spot for the first time in his career (206). Majeski has not been lower than third all season and has scored at least 40 points in all five races to date. Zane Smith (203) and Ben Rhodes (194) continue to battle at the top of the rankings in second and third, with Matt Crafton rounding out the top-five (155).

BRISCOE, GILLILAND ALSO WINNERS ON NASCAR DIRT

Chase Briscoe knows what it’s like to go to victory lane in one of NASCAR’s top three touring series on dirt. He won the Eldora Dirt Derby in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2018, edging Grant Enfinger at the finish line following a side-by-side battle to the final lap. In all, Briscoe made three NCTS starts at Eldora and finished in the top 10 each time – 3rd in 2017, 1st in 2018 and 7th in 2019. In last year’s Bristol Dirt Race, Briscoe finished 20th, but was in contention for the win until getting involved in an accident with Tyler Reddick while battling for the lead on the final lap.

Todd Gilliland also doubled down on Ford’s dirt track success in 2022, leading 58 of the 150 laps en route to victory at the half-mile, dirt racing gem of Knoxville Raceway. Ford was able to place two additional drivers in the top-five that weekend, which included third and fourth place finishes by Ty Majeski and Zane Smith, respectively.

FORD’S NASCAR CUP SERIES WINNERS ON BRISTOL DIRT

2021 – Joey Logano

FORD’S CUP DIRT WINNERS

Hensley and I have been solid on the dirt in the past and My No. 23 Champion Power Equipment team has put in a lot of effort these past few weeks. We have learned a lot as a team and feel this is a great opportunity to regain some momentum heading into the last two races of this five week stretch.”

  • Chassis History/Info: Rajah Caruth and the No. 24 team will compete with GMS Racing chassis no. 136 at Bristol Motor Speedway. This Chevrolet Silverado RST has two dirt races on its resume, both coming in 2021 with Zane Smith as its driver. At Bristol that year, Smith drove it to a seventh place finish, and followed it up with a 14th place run at Knoxville Raceway later that season. It was not used for competition in 2022.
  • Dirt Modified Seat Time: A couple of weeks ago, Rajah Caruth had the opportunity to hop behind the wheel of a Dirt Modified at Friendship Motor Speedway to get some laps under his belt before heading to Bristol Motor Speedway. Caruth turned several laps throughout the day with fellow teammate, Daniel Dye, along with LEGACY MOTOR CLUB drivers Erik Jones and Noah Gragson in preparation for this weekend’s event.
  • Sunoco Rookie Battle: A mid-race issue at Texas Motor Speedway set Rajah Caruth back slightly in the Sunoco Rookie of the Year points battle. Caruth had to make a green flag pitstop due to a cut tire which led him to have contact with the outside wall, forcing Rajah to settle for a 19th place result in Fort Worth. Entering this weekend’s event at Bristol Motor Speedway, Caruth is third in the standings, 59 points behind rookie leader, Nick Sanchez, and 17 points behind second place, Jake Garcia.
  • RC Appearances: Fans attending the Weather Guard Truck Race On Dirt will have an opportunity to meet Rajah Caruth at Bristol Motor Speedway:

Friday, April 7th | Food City Stage: All three GMS Racing drivers will participate in a Q&A session at the Food City Stage in the BMS Fan Zone from 4:00 PM to 4:15 PM local time on Friday.

  • From The Driver’s Seat: Rajah’s thoughts on competing on the dirt at Bristol Motor Speedway:

“I’m really excited, honestly, to give Bristol Dirt a shot this weekend. I’ve done a handful of dirt races over the past year, with some starts at Millbridge, and both of the ARCA Menards Series races at Springfield and DuQuoin last summer were a lot of fun. I know we will have a lot of pace with our Wendell Scott Foundation Chevy Silverado, and I’m going to use lessons that Lightning McQueen and Doc Hudson have taught me – ‘Turn right to go left’. I’ve gotta look up some more quotes from that movie for this weekend, but definitely will rely on some of those lessons for sure.”

“The NASCAR Foundation is thrilled to have Daniel as a part of The NASCAR Foundation team! Whether it is visiting sick children at a hospital to deliver Speedy Bears, playing poker at our annual charity poker tournament, or putting on his fire suit to play with the kids at our Speediatrics Fun Day Festivals, Daniel has volunteered with the Foundation in our racing communities for many years. Drivers like Daniel are the epitome of what it means to be a part of the NASCAR Family and we appreciate all he does to support us and the kids.” – Nichole C. Krieger, Vice President and Executive Director, The NASCAR Foundation

  • Chassis History/Info: Dye and the No. 43 team will compete with GMS Racing chassis no. 21 on the dirt in Thunder Valley. This chassis has been driven on several occasions across three different dirt tracks, and was victorious at Eldora in 2016 with Kyle Larson driving. Jack Wood drove this Chevrolet twice last season, finishing 22nd at Bristol and 21st at Knoxville Raceway.
  • Sunoco Rookie Battle: Engine troubles and a late race incident plagued Daniel Dye in the series’ last outing at Texas Motor Speedway, resulting in a 25th place finish. Heading to Bristol Dirt, Dye is slated in fourth place for the Sunoco Rookie of the Year points battle, 62 markers behind overall leader Nick Sanchez and three points behind his teammate, Rajah Caruth, in third position.
  • Dirt Modified Seat Time: A couple of weeks ago, Daniel Dye had the opportunity to hop behind the wheel of a Dirt Modified at Friendship Motor Speedway to get some laps under his belt before heading to Bristol Motor Speedway. Dye turned several laps throughout the day with fellow teammate, Rajah Caruth, along with LEGACY MOTOR CLUB drivers Erik Jones and Noah Gragson in preparation for this weekend’s event.
  • DD Appearances: Fans attending the Weather Guard Truck Race On Dirt will have an opportunity to meet Daniel Dye at Bristol Motor Speedway:

  • From the Driver’s Seat: What experiences from racing an ARCA car on dirt do you think will translate to racing a truck on dirt?

“The ARCA races on dirt were pretty crazy last year, taking a heavy stock car and racing it around a couple of horse racing tracks was a unique experience, but I don’t think that experience is going to hurt us on Friday and Saturday for what we have going on at Bristol. It’s going to be a weird experience for me; I’ve raced on the concrete at Bristol a couple of times before in a Late Model and in an ARCA car, but it’s going to be completely different on the dirt. I’m looking forward to competing there in the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series with our No. 43 Chevrolet, it’ll be a new challenge for sure.”

Notes of Interest

Just follow @BuschBeer on Twitter, turn on notifications, and tweet #Break4Busch and #Sweepstakes every time there’s a commercial break for your chance to win $5,000. FOX’s coverage of the race begins at 7 p.m. EDT.

● Harvick has made 42 career NASCAR Cup Series starts on Bristol’s traditional, concrete surface. Despite three wins, 14 top-fives, 22 top-10s and 1,209 laps led at the .533-mile oval since 2001, none of it matters this weekend in the series’ return to Bristol. For the third straight spring race, Bristol’s concrete has been covered with dirt, and Harvick’s past accolades have been buried. The Food City Dirt Race is back.

● Do you remember the Prelude to the Dream? Of course you do, because like Ron Burgundy in Anchorman, it was “kind of a big deal.” The charity dirt late model race that Tony Stewart hosted at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, from 2005 to 2012 was where many NASCAR Cup Series drivers got their first taste of dirt racing. Harvick was one of those drivers. He competed in four Preludes – 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2009 – and earned a best finish of seventh in 2008. But that wasn’t Harvick’s only experience on dirt. During this same timeframe, Harvick also raced an IMCA dirt modified on a handful of occasions, making one-off appearances at such tracks as Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio, Macon (Ill.) Speedway and even in his hometown when he raced at Bakersfield (Calif.) Speedway.

● The last Prelude was in 2012, and taking its place at Eldora was the NASCAR Truck Series, which began a seven-year run at the half-mile, dirt oval from 2013-2019. That inaugural race on July 24 was the first time in more than four decades a top NASCAR series had competed on dirt – the last being Sept. 30, 1970 at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raleigh where Richard Petty took the 117th of his record 200 career NASCAR Cup Series wins. Like Eldora, it was on a Wednesday night and contested on a half-mile oval. There was never a repeat winner in the Truck Series race at Eldora, and five of its seven winners are entered in the Food City Dirt Race – Austin Dillon (2013), Bubba Wallace (2014), Christopher Bell (2015), Kyle Larson (2016) and Chase Briscoe (2018). The two winners not entered at Bristol are Matt Crafton (2017) and Stewart Friesen (2019).

● In the inaugural NASCAR dirt weekend at Bristol, Harvick pulled double duty competing in both the NASCAR Truck Series race and the NASCAR Cup Series race. In a Ford F-150 for David Gilliland Racing, Harvick started 30th and finished 15th in his first Truck race since Aug. 1, 2015 when he finished second at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway. On Sunday for the Cup race, Harvick started sixth and recorded another 15th-place finish. That remains his best finish in the Food City Dirt Race, as a crash 100 laps into last year’s race left Harvick with a 34th-place finish.

Kevin Harvick, Driver of the No. 4 Busch Light #Break4Busch Ford Mustang

We’re back to the dirt at Bristol. Racing on dirt is obviously different, but how different is it when it comes to what you need to do behind the wheel?

“You know, Bristol Dirt was much easier than I anticipated it being because it wasn’t like a normal dirt race. I was expecting a normal dirt race, but when you look at Bristol Dirt and the way the cars drive, it was a lot of the same tendencies that you had with a normal Cup car. Being able to have all my stuff and all of the same tendencies just made it a lot better for me, even with all differences of racing on dirt.”

Prior to the inaugural dirt race at Bristol two years ago, your last time on dirt was back in 2009 at the Prelude to the Dream dirt late model race at Eldora Speedway. Was there some muscle memory that kicked in when you first got on the dirt there at Bristol, or was it a whole new experience all over again?

“I’d say there was more crossover from the IMCA modified than there was from the dirt late model just because of the way the car drove. The part that I struggled with in the dirt late model was just how violent and fast everything happened, and that was just something that I’d never done before. With the IMCA car, it was slower and more methodical, with slower throttle control. It wasn’t ‘romp and stomp.’ It was pretty methodical about the way you drove. Our cars were kind of that same way. For a dirt race, it was about as enjoyable as any dirt race I’d ever done.”

Do the guys who have a dirt background have an advantage at Bristol, or is the style of racing so different compared to a sprint car or midget or dirt late model that it really doesn’t matter?

“It’s just not as much like what those guys do. Obviously, they can look at the racetrack and tell easier when it’s ready to move up a lane, and they have a little more confidence to pass. But in the end, Cup regulars have won both of these races, so I think that tells you how much more it’s like what we normally do than what a lot of people thought it might be.”

What was your dirt-racing experience prior to the inaugural dirt race at Bristol?

“I ran Tony Stewart’s Prelude to the Dream at Eldora four times, and the last one was in 2009. I actually ran a lot of races on dirt around that time. The only one I ever won was at Dave Blaney’s track (Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio) and that was in an IMCA car. But I ran the IMCA car several times that year, probably four or five times. I’m fairly certain I ran in my hometown of Bakersfield (California), I ran at Blaney’s track in Ohio, I ran at Macon in Illinois, I ran in Minnesota – all that stuff was around the time when I raced in the Prelude.”

When you ran those IMCA races, who did you drive for?

“I had my own car that I ran at three or four of them, and another owner’s car in Bakersfield, and at that time I was teammates with (Clint) Bowyer. Most everything was done by Mike Dillon with their dirt team. They had everything in place and they built the car for me and everything. So, Team Dillon was doing everything for us on that side of it.”

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing announces the outline of TGR GT Cup 2023 online race, marking its fifth year of e-Motorsports

TOKYO, Apr 4, 2023 – (JCN Newswire) – TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) has announced details on the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing GT CUP (TGR GT Cup) 2023, an online race in “Gran Turismo 7” for PlayStation 5(1) (PS5) and PlayStation 4(1) (PS4).

The TGR GT Cup is a global competition held in “Gran Turismo 7” in which the GR lineup, dedicated racing cars, and other cars participate in competitive racing throughout the season. This year’s event will feature a collaborative round with TGR’s partners in the Super Taikyu series, Mazda Motor Corporation (Mazda) and Subaru Corporation (SUBARU). Seven qualifying rounds will be held online, and the world’s top 24 players will qualify for the final.

TGR is looking forward to once again welcoming drivers this season with a variety of exciting qualifying rounds.

The opening round is a race with the AE86 (Sprinter Trueno and Corolla Levin), a popular car in the Gran Turismo series, which celebrated its 25th anniversary last year. Round 3 will be a virtual version of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which marks its 100th anniversary this year. All users who enter the event will receive a GR010 HYBRID with the 2023 livery in commemoration of the fifth year of TGR’s e-Motorsports activities.

Round 4 also features a Virtual GR86/BRZ Cup to be held with round partner SUBARU.
A league system will be introduced in each qualifying round according to the skill level of the drivers in order to make it easier to participate. The top-level GT1 League will be followed by two leagues: GT2 and GT3. Rankings are displayed for each league, making it easy for everyone, even beginners, to participate. Please check the opening time shown in Gran Turismo before participating as it differs depending on the league.

TGR plans to continue an active engagement in e-Motorsports activities so that motorsports can be enjoyed closer than ever before beyond the boundaries of countries and generations.
The outline of the BRIDGESTONE GT Time Trial U17 by TOYOTA GAZOO Racing for participants aged 17 or younger will be announced at a later date.
