Will Power to join Kenny Habul at Daytona 24

Reigning NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion and former Indy 500 winner Will Power will make his debut in the Rolex 24 at Daytona with fellow American-based Australian Kenny Habul on January 28-29.

The pair will share the now iconic #75 Sun Energy1 Racing Team’s Mercedes-AMG GT3 with German ace Fabian Schiller and Zimbabwean Axcil Jeffries in the GT Daytona (GTD) class which now includes 25 entries from nine different manufacturers.

SunEnergy1 became the 61st and final entry for the 24-hour sports car endurance race last week, which also doubles as the 2023 IMSA SportsCar Championship season-opener.

Power is one of the most successful drivers in IndyCar history with 41 wins and 68 poles (one more than the iconic Mario Andretti).

Since joining Team Penske full-time in 2010, Power has only finished outside of the top five in the championship once (9th, 2021).

He won his first IndyCar title in 2014, won the Indy 500 in 2018 and then clinched his second series title in the season closer at Laguna Seca, California, after registering his record-breaking 68th pole positIon.

Born and bred in Toowoomba Queensland, Power learned his craft in Formula Ford in Australia before heading to Europe to expand his open-wheel career.

He eventually found himself in Champ Car with Derrick Walker Racing and Team Australia and won the last ever Champ Car race at Long Beach for KV Racing in 2008.

Power grew up only a couple of hours from Habul’s hometown of Surfers Paradise, Queensland, and the two raced against each other in the National Formula Ford Championship.

While Power will be making his Daytona debut, Habul will be having his sixth start in the American endurance classic, with the solar energy entrepreneur notching his best result of second in the GTD Class in 2021.

That year Habul, who shared his SunEnergy1 Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo with Raffaele Marciello, Luca Stolz and Mikael Grenier, actually headed the field during his stint.

Habul had a year to remember in 2022, sealing his third Pro-Am drivers’ title in the Intercontinental GT Challenge finale at the Gulf 12 Hours in December.

His title-winning campaign consisted of outright victory in the Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour, as well as second-place class finishes in the 24 Hours of Spa and Indianapolis 8 Hour.

The Roar Before the 24 test will take place at Daytona International Speedway on January 20-22.

Following that, the 24 Hours of Daytona will take place at the same venue from January 28-29.

WHAT WILL POWER HAS TO SAY…..

“The Daytona 24 is an iconic event on the bucket list of most drivers and I have to thank Kenny (Habul) for the opportunity,” said Power.

“I am looking forward to driving the heavier GT car and getting experience for, hopefully, a lot more drives like this in the future – including the Bathurst 1000 and Bathurst 12-hour back in Australia.

“It is quite funny when you look back at how Kenny and I raced Formula Ford against each other all those years ago and now we are going to be teammates.

“He chose a business route instead of chasing his racing dream and has obviously been incredibly successful. It has been great to watch him enjoy his racing later in life and actually improve as he gets older.

“Kenny obviously knows what it takes to be successful in business and is applying all those lessons to his racing – his win in the Bathurst 12-hour last year is proof of that.”

WHAT KENNY HABUL HAS TO SAY….

“Will is a monster talent and genuine person and we look forward to him being a valuable contributor to our 24-hour campaign at Daytona,” said Habul.

“He has a reputation of being fast in anything he drives and I am sure he will be up to speed in our gear in no time.

“Will and I have been friends since we raced Formula Ford against each other in the late 90s and it is quite ironic that we now have houses only a few miles apart from each other in North Carolina.

“We stood on the podium together as kids, in the 1999 Formula Ford race at the Gold Coast IndyCar event, dreaming of racing Indy cars someday, Will made that dream happen and then some. I’m so proud of him.

“I think the mixture of myself, Will, Fabian and Axcil will be a competitive one and it would be nice to come away from the weekend with a Rolex watch.”

Ryan Newman, SS Racing Announce Partnership for SMART and NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Schedule for 2023

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (January 10, 2023) – NASCAR great Ryan Newman will be spending more time behind the wheel in 2023, and he will be doing it driving for Sadler-Stanley Racing powered by Pace-O-Matic in selected SMART Tour and NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour races.

Newman, who has 18 wins and 51 poles in his NASCAR Cup Series career, drove three races for SS Racing in 2022 at Richmond, North Wilkesboro, and Martinsville. Newman led laps at Richmond, won racing’s return to the famed North Wilkesboro Speedway, and finished third in the season finale at Martinsville.

“Ryan Newman can win any time at any track,” stated Sadler-Stanley Racing co-owner Hermie Sadler. “The success we had last year in limited starts gives us confidence that as a team we can be very successful. We are proud to have Ryan in our PSR Products Modifieds powered by Pace-O-Matic in 2023. Our driver lineup now features Bobby Labonte and Ryan Newman. That is exciting for us and will also be exciting for the fans that love open wheel Modified racing.”

Newman, the 2002 NASCAR Cup Series Rookie of the Year, and Labonte, a NASCAR Hall of Fame Class of 2020 inductee, will be tackling the Modified scene with cars built and maintained by PSR Products under the direction of PSR owner and Crew Chief Phil Stefanelli.

“I look forward to wheeling the SS Racing pavement pounding modifieds that PSR brings to the track,” said Newman. “Winning at last year’s North Wilkesboro race was an amazing feeling. Many thanks to Pace-O-Matic and all of the other sponsors that will be supporting our efforts this coming season.”

Virginia State Senator and owner of The Stanley Law Group Bill Stanley is also co-owner with Hermie Sadler at Sadler/Stanley Racing.

“From the moment Ryan Newman got into the seat of the Pace-O-Matic No. 39, both Hermie and I knew that he was a perfect fit for our team,” explained Stanley. “With his historic win in the return of racing to North Wilkesboro in 2022, Ryan brings a spark to open wheel modified racing in the SMART Tour that will take the series to the next level. Having both Ryan and Bobby Labonte as teammates for SS Racing in both SMART and select NASCAR Whelen events will be huge for short-track racing in 2023. We simply cannot wait for the racing season to begin and watch these two champions on the track.”

“We are honored to partner with SS Racing and to, once again, sponsor the SMART Tour and support the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour,” stated Chief Marketing Officer of Pace-O-Matic Inc. Gina Trumm Reinhardt. “We’re excited to watch the return of Ryan Newman and extremely proud to have added Bobby Labonte to our race team. The main features of the new Prius are as follows.

Vehicle outline
A design inspiring love at first sight

  • Inheriting the signature monoform silhouette of the original Prius, the new Prius has been reborn with a lower center of gravity and even more stylish proportions. The simple yet sculpted body expresses exhilaration that appeals to the senses and a universal beauty that will remain popular into the future.
  • The “island architecture” concept achieves a low-stress, spacious interior with a cockpit that makes it easy to concentrate on driving. Altogether, the interior offers intuitive operation and an enjoyable driving experience.
  • A total of eight body colors are available, including two newly developed, solid base colors of Ash and Mustard that create a sporty impression, bringing touches of color to the daily lives of customers to create a stronger sense of attachment.

Captivating driving performance

  • The new Prius is equipped with the latest fifth-generation hybrid system in both the 2.0-liter and 1.8-liter models.
  • Compared to the previous model1, the 2.0-liter Prius (Z and G grades) achieves improved fuel efficiency of 28.6 km/L2 and maximum system output of 144 kW (196 PS), which is 1.6 times higher than the previous model*1. This model achieves a high level of balance between the outstanding environmental performance of a Prius and the captivating driving performance of a car that reacts as expected with satisfying acceleration and responsive driving.
  • With a long list of improvements, including updates to all electric modules, the 1.8-liter Prius (U and X grades) achieves great fuel efficiency of 32.6 km/L(3). The refined driving performance and seamless acceleration of a hybrid provide feelings of agility when starting off and the responsiveness of direct driving power.
  • The second-generation TNGA platform was developed as part of continuing improvement of the matured TNGA platform to achieve the exhilarating styling and driving performance of the new Prius, allowing for a lower center of gravity and large-diameter tires.
  • This version comes with the latest E-Four system. Employing a high-output motor and other features, it offers improved uphill performance on low-friction road surfaces, like snow-covered roads, and greater stability when turning.

Advanced Safety and Driving Support Systems
Toyota Safety Sense, the latest active safety package, is a standard inclusion. Including the Advanced Safety System with an expanded range of detectable objects, the new Prius also comes with the following added features.

  • Rear vehicle proximity notification [first for a Toyota brand vehicle(4)]
Using the Blind Spot Monitor’s rear millimeter-wave radar, this feature detects vehicles in the rear and, if another vehicle is approaching, it alerts the driver via the Multi-Information Display and buzzer.
  • Approaching vehicle proximity support (recording function and vehicle reporting suggestions) [first for a Toyota brand vehicle(4)]
If a vehicle approaching from the rear is too close, this system offers the driver suggestions for dealing with the issue, including contacting the police or the HELPNET emergency call service. In vehicles equipped with a drive recorder, in addition to automatically recording the event, the system stores the data in a dedicated area that makes it difficult to record over.
  • Secondary Collision Brake (rear impact mitigation when stopped) [first for a Toyota brand vehicle(4)]
Using the Blind Spot Monitor’s rear millimeter-wave radar, this system detects vehicles in the rear and, if it determines a very high possibility of a collision while the vehicle is stopped, it applies the brakes to reduce speed if a rear collision occurs. Compared to the previous model, this system enables an earlier reduction in speed by applying the brakes prior to a collision.

Reasons Why You Might Want to Have Car Insurance

Having car insurance is an essential decision for any responsible adult. It not only protects you in the event of an accident, but also gives you peace of mind knowing that no matter what happens, your car will be covered. When considering whether it’s worth it to purchase car insurance, there are a few key factors to consider.

From financial protection to legal burden reduction, here are some of the top reasons why having car insurance is important:

Financial Protection

Having car insurance is an important part of being a responsible driver. It provides financial protection in an accident or other unforeseen incident. Having adequate car insurance can protect you and your passengers from catastrophic losses, such as medical bills, vehicle repairs, and legal fees. Car insurance also protects your assets by covering the costs associated with any damage done to another person’s property or injury caused to someone else in an accident you are involved in.

In addition to providing financial protection, having car insurance can help lower your monthly payments and make it easier for you to afford quality coverage. Many insurers offer discounts for customers who purchase multiple policies (such as life, home, and auto). Insurance companies may also provide additional savings if you have a good driving record, take an accident prevention course, or purchase a car with safety features.

Ultimately, having the right amount of car insurance can give you peace of mind while driving and help ensure that you are financially protected in the event of an unexpected incident. You can protect yourself and your family from significant financial losses by investing in quality coverage today.  Shop around for the best rates and policies to make sure your needs are properly met and that you’re getting the most out of your investment.

Legal Requirements

Car insurance is a legal requirement in most states, including South Carolina. This means uninsured drivers can be subject to steep fines and penalties if involved in an auto accident. Even if you are not at fault for the accident, uninsured drivers are legally liable for damages that may result from the accident. Therefore, it is essential to have car insurance to protect yourself against any financial liability you may incur as a result of an uninsured car accident.

Additionally, uninsured drivers can face serious legal consequences if they cause an auto accident. Even though underinsured motorist (UIM) coverage is not mandatory in South Carolina, lawyers in the state suggest that drivers should not waive UIM coverage. An uninsured car accident lawyer in South Carolina can explain these potential liabilities and help ensure you receive the justice and compensation you deserve if someone else’s negligence resulted in your injuries or damages to your vehicle.  Without UIM, you may be insufficiently compensated not only for your medical costs but also for lost income and pain and suffering resulting from a car accident.

Liability Protection

Car insurance is essential for various reasons, but one of the most important is liability protection. This coverage protects you financially if you cause an accident that results in bodily injury or property damage to another person. Without car insurance, any resulting damages could be taken out of your pocket – which can quickly add up and become very costly.

When purchasing car insurance, it’s important to understand what types of liabilities are covered to know what type of protection you’ve purchased should an incident occur. Generally speaking, liability coverage will cover third-party injuries, damage, and legal fees associated with defending yourself in court after an automobile accident.

It’s also worth considering other forms of liability protection when shopping for car insurance. For example, some policies will include medical payments coverage which helps to pay for medical expenses related to an accident that you cause. This can help you avoid a hefty medical bill if you are deemed at fault for an incident.

Property Damage Coverage

Property damage coverage is another important aspect of car insurance policies. This type of coverage helps you pay for repairs to any property damaged in an accident caused by you or someone else operating your vehicle. If a third party sues you for damages related to the incident, this type of coverage can also help protect you from financial liability up to a certain limit.

Accident Forgiveness

Accident forgiveness is an increasingly popular option among auto insurers and can provide relief if you’re involved in an at-fault accident. With this coverage, your insurer may agree to forgive a single at-fault accident without impacting your overall premiums or deductibles.

Comprehensive Coverage

Comprehensive coverage protects you from damages not caused by another vehicle, such as theft, vandalism, and natural disasters. This type of coverage is generally optional but can provide peace of mind knowing that your car will be taken care of in any unexpected situations.

Roadside Assistance

Many auto insurance companies offer roadside assistance as part of their policies. This type of coverage provides emergency services such as towing and battery jumpstarts if you experience mechanical issues with your car while on the road. This coverage can save you from spending large amounts on an unexpected tow bill.

In conclusion, having car insurance is a good idea for anyone who owns or operates a vehicle. From financial protection to legal burden reduction, car insurance benefits can make all the difference in an unexpected incident. Be sure to look into your options and research different providers before choosing the right policy.

What are the best online payday loans in 2023

Photo by Giorgio Trovato on Unsplash

In today’s precarious economy, as the saying goes, it rains when it rains. On the flip side, having extra cash on hand makes life much simpler no matter what you’re going through! If you have bad credit, it may be challenging to get a loan from a bank or other lender. Fortunately, a lot of lenders are willing to overlook your credit past and provide you the money you require. In order to avoid falling victim to unregulated and dishonest lenders, it is important to thoroughly consider whether or not you need a payday loan online.

Despite the package’s increased interest rates, some lending agreements are preferable to others. Depending on a few variables, like your credit score and payment history, some of the best systems can approve short- and long-term loans in a matter of minutes. Based on interest rates, minimum credit score requirements, salary or income, and credit history, the following companies offer some of the best online payday loans.

CashUSA

Borrowers can review loan offers on their free website before completing any online agreements. Loan fees are typically minimal for both long-term installment loans and short-term payday loans. A few benefits include quick loan approval times, no credit check, 1-2 day money transfers, and a $10,000 maximum loan. Filling out their application only takes a few minutes, and you’ll obtain loan alternatives right away.

With a minimum of $500, you can ask for up to $10,000 in cash. Within 1-2 business days of your accepting an offer, CashUSA will deposit money into your account.

Contrary to other payday loan websites, CashUSA makes it simple for customers to compare and contrast options. They have the lowest interest rates on the market, ranging from 5.99 percent to 35.99 percent, as opposed to other loan sites that can charge you fees and interest of up to 400 percent.

Bad credit loans

Whether you have a poor credit score or a low-paying employment, bad credit loans can help. They work with almost everyone and don’t have minimum wage or credit score requirements. You won’t need to fulfil any minimum income requirements, unlike many other online lending marketplaces, and if you have a reliable monthly income, you will probably be approved.

Additionally, BadCreditLoans has no credit limitations. You don’t even require a credit score to be eligible. They will cooperate with you as long as you have a current bank account with a reputable bank. To borrow money online, you must be a US citizen and at least eighteen years old.

They’ll grant a $500 to $5,000 short-term loan to just about anyone, but those with poor credit won’t be eligible for the full $10,000.

If you use the one-day deposit account offered by this payday lender, you won’t be short on cash for very long.

PersonalLoans

Whether you require funds for a new company venture or for an expensive auto repair, Personal Loans thinks broadly and offers the following advantages:

  • Up to $35,000 in financing is available.
  • without regard to one’s credit or income
  • Transfer directly within 24 hours
  • favorable interest rates,
  • a larger lender network

If approved, lenders can request cash in the range of $1,000 and $35,000 and will receive their funds via direct deposit within 24 hours. In certain states, PersonalLoans are restricted from lending more than $5,000 at once. There will be more lenders available to you, but you won’t be able to borrow less than $1,000 at once.

If you don’t hear back from one of PersonalLoans’ lenders within 24 hours, they’ll send your request to more than 150 reputable lenders.

Long-term savings are achieved because approval procedures are streamlined and interest rates are lower. The majority of large-loan sites don’t share these traits.

ZippyLoan

ZippyLoan does not do a credit check on you before submitting your application to their extensive network of lenders, in contrast to the majority of online payday lenders. ZippyLoan is an excellent place to start if you need to rebuild your credit and forget about your past credit issues.

Some of its advantages are:

The 3 Common Mistakes to Avoid When You Go Off-Roading

Photo by Tesson Thaliath on Unsplash

Off-roading can be a thrilling and exciting way to explore the great outdoors, but it’s important to be aware of the potential risks and avoid common mistakes. When you don’t know what you should avoid doing you can put yourself and others in danger as well as miss out on getting the most out of the experience.

Knowing the common mistakes that many off roaders make will help you stay safe and enjoy the experience to the fullest. In this article, we will go over what they are so you can avoid making them too.

1 – Not having the right equipment

Off-road trails can be rough and challenging, and it’s essential to have the right equipment to ensure the safety and performance of your vehicle. This includes having the appropriate tires, suspension, and protection for the undercarriage. It’s also a good idea to have recovery gear such as a winch, tow straps, tire inflators and a shovel on hand in case you get stuck.

It’s also important to make sure that you and your passengers are properly prepared for the off-road trip. This includes wearing appropriate clothing and footwear, as well as bringing along any necessary supplies such as food, water, and a first aid kit. It’s also a good idea to bring a map and a compass (or a GPS device) to help navigate the trail. If you are traveling with a group, make sure to establish clear communication protocols in case of an emergency.

You should also have equipment for the aftercare of your vehicle when you are back from the trip. You may need to do things like break the bead on a tire so having the gear for that is important.

2 – Not following the rules of the trail

Each off-road trail has its own set of rules and guidelines that must be followed to protect the environment and ensure the safety of all users. Ignoring these rules can result in damage to the trail, potential accidents, and the closure of the trail to the public.

Before you head out, make sure you’re aware of any specific rules or guidelines for the area you’ll be off-roading in. This could include information on permitted vehicle types, trail closures, and speed limits. Many parks and wilderness areas have visitor centers or websites where you can find this information.

3 – Going too fast

It’s important to remember that off-roading is not a race and to always drive at a safe speed. Going too fast can cause you to lose control of your vehicle and increase the risk of an accident. It’s also important to be mindful of your speed when driving near other vehicles or pedestrians.

At high speeds, it can be difficult to react quickly to unexpected obstacles or changes in the terrain, which can result in serious accidents. Additionally, going too fast can cause excessive damage to the environment. For example, it can cause soil erosion, damage to vegetation, and destruction of wildlife habitats.

Off-roading is meant to be enjoyed at a leisurely pace, allowing the driver to take in the beautiful scenery and experience the thrill of driving on challenging terrain. By going too fast, you may be missing out on these enjoyable aspects of the experience.
