Basic Motorcycle Maintenance Checklist You Need

Introduction

Motorcycles are a lot of fun to ride, but they do require some maintenance. A great way to keep your bike running smoothly is by following a basic motorcycle maintenance checklist. Let’s take a look at what needs to be done and how often you should do it.

Maintain your motorcycle to the T with this basic motorcycle maintenance checklist.

  • Keep it clean and polish regularly. Your bike will last longer if you keep it clean, so make sure you wash it from time to time and wax or polish it when necessary. If you live in a humid area, waxing is especially important; this will help protect the paint job from rust and oxidation caused by moisture in the air. Waxing also helps repel dirt and grime, which can scratch and damage the finish of your wheels over time.

Change Your Oil Regularly

Regular oil changes are the best way to ensure that your bike stays in top condition. Make sure you use the right kind of oil—your owner’s manual will tell you what type is recommended. If you don’t have an owner’s manual, speak with your mechanic about what kind of oil he or she recommends for your particular motorcycle.

If you don’t have a lot of money to spend on this maintenance item, check out our tips for saving money on motorcycle parts like these Kawasaki parts in Australia and accessories!

If you’re not comfortable working with tools or changing your oil, then bring it into a service center where they can do it for less than if you bought all the parts yourself and did it at home in your garage (which we recommend against).

Continue reading as we take you through a few simple steps to ensure your bike is always in top form.

  • It’s important to perform regular maintenance on your bike, whether you’re a casual rider or a serious biker.
  • The benefits of regular maintenance are numerous:
  • Your motorcycle will run better and more efficiently;
  • You can save money over time by doing simple tasks yourself instead of paying someone else to do them;
  • Your bike will be less likely to break down unexpectedly in an inconvenient location (like on the highway).

The Essentials of Motorcycle Maintenance

  • Tire pressure
  • Chain tension
  • Brake pads
  • Engine oil level (if you don’t know how to check this, read the manual)
  • Battery charge (if it’s been a while since you charged your battery and want to make sure it’s still in good shape)
  • Coolant level (also easy to find in the owner’s manual if you don’t know how to find yours)
  • Tires for wear and tear

Keep Your Motorcycle Running Smoothly

Oil: check your oil level and change it if necessary.

Tire Pressure: Check your tire pressure, which should be around 32 psi if you’re running street tires or around 24 psi for dirt tires. If a tire is too low, you can run the risk of getting flats; if it’s too high, your bike will lose traction on slippery surfaces like wet roads or mud.

Brake Fluid: Make sure that there isn’t any water in the brake fluid reservoir; if there is, it means that moisture has gotten into it and could cause the brakes to fail under heavy braking situations like those experienced during an accident or stoplight race against other motorcyclists. Brake fluid should also be changed every two years or so, depending on how often you ride (if you’re only taking short trips around town then chances are that won’t need changing). The color of brake fluid varies depending on what type of caliper/master cylinder combination is used, but usually ranges from pinkish red to dark brown; if yours looks rusty, then chances are good that something’s gone wrong somewhere along the line!

Chain Tensioner: Check for wear on both sides of chain tensioner links using a ruler—you want them even with each other so as not to damage anything else inside when working properly.

Lubricate Moving Parts Regularly

  • Check your chain, sprockets, and brake pads.
  • Use the correct lubricant for each part: oil for chains and cables; grease for sprockets and brake calipers.
  • Apply the lubricant to the moving parts by hand or with a spray bottle (if you’re using aerosol sprays). Rub it in well so that it penetrates all of the surfaces. Don’t get any on paintwork!

Clean And Polish Your Bike Regularly To Prevent Corrosion And Rusting

A good motorcycle is an investment you want to protect. Many of us take extra care to keep our bikes looking their best, but we don’t always think about the long-term damage that can be done by neglecting basic maintenance.

One of the most important things you can do to prevent corrosion and rusting, which can cause permanent damage and make it much harder for you to sell your bike if you ever decide to part with it, is to clean and polish it regularly. This will not only keep your paintwork looking good now but also prevent any potential problems in the future.

While there are lots of different products available on the market designed specifically for this purpose, there are also plenty that aren’t manufactured with motorcycle owners in mind. So what should you look out for?

It’s a good idea to make sure you do things like check your air filter regularly and change it after a while

  • Check your air filter regularly and change it after a while. The air filter is an important part of your bike, as it cleans the engine’s intake of dust and debris.
  • Check your chain drive and tighten it every 300 miles or so. If you don’t do this, you could end up with a broken chain that needs to be replaced.
  • Check your spokes and tighten them every 100 miles or so. If you have loose spokes on your wheels, they can break quickly if not tended to (and thus cause serious damage).
  • Clean and polish your bike regularly to prevent corrosion and rusting, especially in areas where water tends to collect like undercarriages or exhaust pipes (which can explode!).

Conclusion

Remember that these are just general guidelines. If anything on your motorcycle needs attention sooner than the above schedule, go ahead and take care of it.

Always evolving, he performs as a DJ and a live artist and is known by his peers as “the DJ’s DJ” or simply “The King”.

Passionate about all forms of racing, Carl has been involved in everything from motorbikes and sidecars to supercars. He is a competitive drag racer and achieved a personal best (so far) of 5.9 seconds for a quarter mile reaching 252mph in 2021 in Eleanor, his custom built drag car.

He is a fixture at the Isle of Man TT where he supports his Carl Cox Motorsport riders as they battle it out on the infamous course. Amongst the talent in Carl’s programme is Super Stock champion Davey Todd, Michael Clemente who drives in the TCR Championship and twenty one time Isle of Man TT winner Michael Dunlop, who has been supported by Carl since 2017.

A passion for developing talent saw Carl establish the Carl Cox Motorsport Cup for grassroots riders in New Zealand which is now in its twelfth year, where his sidecar team is based. As a team owner in Extreme E Carl can further his mission in a series that offers the perfect platform for the development of young and emerging talent.

Extreme E aims to minimise environmental impact but maximise awareness, racing in places that have already been damaged or affected by climate change. The all-electric series takes fans deep into the heart of the most pressing environmental issues facing the planet. At the same time, the championship has built-in equality and diversity, with each team fielding one male and one female driver, making it the world’s most diverse racing series.

Alon Shulman, CEO of World Famous Group, an experienced brand strategist and Carl Cox’s manager, will take on the role of Team Director at Carl Cox Motorsport Extreme E.

Alon comments: “On the racing side Carl Cox Motorsport Extreme E will be competitive from day one and we have various strategic plans that will elevate the team and what we can bring to the series. We will also be actively supporting the host territories Extreme E environmental projects. My role is to make sure that our team is a 365 operation, not just focused on the race weekends, and to maximise the opportunity that we’ve been presented with.

“Underpinning everything of course is team boss Carl Cox. He is an exceptional human being who will be fully hands on with sleeves rolled up ensuring that we deliver over and above at all times, on and off the track.”

Carl’s team will make its exciting debut when Season 3 of Extreme E gets underway in Saudi Arabia in just two months’ time on March 11-12, before moving on to the UK in May for race two.

6 Factors to Consider When Buying a Bike Mount

Introduction

The art of biking is enjoyed by many people around the world. It’s a great way to get some exercise and clear your mind. However, biking can also be dangerous if you are not careful with your equipment or do not have the right equipment for riding in certain types of weather conditions. That’s why it’s important to choose a bike mount that will keep both you and your bike safe while out on the road. In this article, I’ll tell you what factors matter when buying a bike mount: performance compatibility safety mounting/dismounting convenience of use material price

Performance

Performance is a term that’s used to describe the ability of the bike mount to handle a bike, hold your phone securely, and position it conveniently.

Material

When it comes to the material of the bike mount, you should ensure that it is durable and strong. The material should also be waterproof, lightweight, and easy to clean look at Garmin mount.

Compatibility

Compatibility is an important consideration to make when buying a bike mount. After all, if you have an iPhone and your friend has an Android, it won’t do either of you any good if the mount you get only works with one or the other. You should also make sure that the mount can fit on both your bike and phone before purchasing it (though many mounts are adjustable).

If your phone is fairly new, it’s likely that its manufacturer has already made devices compatible with it—you may not need a new case at all! However, there are some older phones – especially older iPhones – that the new cases simply aren’t designed for yet. If this is the case for you and/or other members of your household who often use their phones while riding bikes together as part of living life in unison as one big happy family unit, then I’d suggest getting something else.

Safety

Safety is a major concern when it comes to choosing a bike mount for your phone. You must choose one that is safe to use and won’t cause harm if you fall or get into an accident. As such, there are several things you should look out for:

  • Make sure the bike mount can hold your phone while riding at high speeds. If it can’t hold the weight of your phone, it will likely slip right off when you’re going fast. This could be unsafe and possibly damaging if your phone lands on concrete or another hard surface.
  • Choose a bike mount with strong enough materials so that they don’t break easily—especially after being dropped repeatedly! It would also be wise to check whether or not the company offers any guarantees against defects in their products before purchasing online so as not to waste money on something that isn’t reliable over time (or worse yet… may even cause injury).

Mounting/dismounting convenience

The first thing to consider when buying a bike mount is how easy it is to get on and off the bike. Ideally, you want to make sure that you’re able to mount and dismount your bike quickly so that you don’t have any issues while riding in traffic or even at stoplights. If you have problems mounting or dismounting your bike, then it might be time for you to invest in a new cycling accessory.

There are many different types of mounts available on the market today. Some clamps can only be used with certain styles of bikes, while others will work with most bikes regardless of their shape or size. These types can range anywhere between $30-$100 depending on what kind of features they offer such as LED lighting systems or shock absorption devices which help reduce vibration when riding over bumpy terrain

Price

When it comes to price, you should consider two things: how much the mount costs and how much it will cost you over its lifetime. A more expensive mount doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s better than a cheaper one—what matters is whether the mount is worth what you paid for it and if it’ll last long enough to justify its price tag. Just because a bike mount costs $15 doesn’t mean that it’s not as good as one that costs $150—it just might not be as durable or dependable as some other mounts on the market.

Price can also be an indicator of quality, so if you’re looking at two competing products but only one has a higher price tag, chances are they’re both equally good but with different features (or maybe even materials). You can use this information when deciding which product fits your needs best!

If you know the kind of bike mount you want, it will be easy for you to choose one that is ideal for you.

If you know the kind of bike mount you want, it will be easy for you to choose one that is ideal for you.

There are different types of bike mounts. Some are used by cyclists who have just started cycling, and others are used by professional cyclists who need to carry their bikes in a way that makes them easily accessible at any time. The type of bicycle mount that you should choose depends on your needs and budget. For instance, if you live in an area where there is no place for parking your car or any other vehicle and therefore, cannot keep your bike at home, then it makes sense for someone like yourself to purchase a portable bicycle rack that allows you to not only store but also transport your bike wherever there is space available (e.g., inside an apartment).

On the other hand, like most people out there who love riding their bikes but cannot afford to have one all year round; they might want something more permanent such as a garage storage rack system since they don’t have access during winter months due to snowfall or heavy rains which could cause damage if left outdoors unprotected.

Conclusion

A bike mount is a very important part of your bicycle, as it not only helps you to keep your bike safe but also allows you to work on it easily. It is good to consider the above factors when buying a bike mount so that you can get the best for yourself.

7 Common Repairs Your Vehicle May Need

Introduction

You’ve probably noticed that vehicles have become more complex over time. It’s the same with repairs: they’re not just simple fixes anymore. The good news is that many common repairs can be done by your average mechanic—if you take care of your car and get routine maintenance. Here are six common repairs your vehicle may need to stay on the road longer:

Fix an oil leak

When an oil leak occurs, it is important to find the source of the leak. There are several common causes of leaks:

  • A simple oil change can fix an oil leak. If you need to replace a gasket or other part like these Honda engine parts that has been worn down, you may need to remove your engine from your vehicle to get access to those parts.

Replace a head gasket

The head gasket is a seal between the engine block and the head. It’s often a source of trouble for older vehicles, with frequent leaks or blown head gaskets being common problems. A blown or leaking head gasket can also lead to other issues with your vehicle, like oil/coolant mix-ups that cause overheating or other problems.

Head gaskets are not cheap to replace—they cost $1,000! You may want to consider replacing this part yourself if you’re mechanically inclined and have access to the necessary tools and parts (and you should check first with your car’s manufacturer). However, if you’re not comfortable doing so yourself then it would be best to leave this repair up to professionals.

Replace worn-out tires

If you’re the type who loves to drive, then it’s important to make sure your tires are in good condition. Here are some tips on what to look for and when they need replacing:

  • Check tire pressure regularly. You should check tire pressure whenever you see a sign that says “tire pressure.” If you see one of these signs, pull over immediately and check your tire pressure before continuing on your journey.
  • Tires should be replaced when they’re worn out. If you don’t know how old your car is, there’s an easy way to find out: ask someone else who owns an identical model and see if theirs have been replaced yet. If not (and if yours haven’t), it’s the time! Replace them today with our affordable deals on replacement tires at Tire Rack!
  • Replace them again in 6-7 years at most, but preferably much sooner than that! If possible (and affordable), buy two sets at once so that you can rotate them every other day for maximum safety during those crucial first few months after installation; this will minimize wear patterns from uneven use across multiple drive cycles each day as well as prevent premature deterioration due to improper alignment issues caused by excessive vibration due to poor balance between internal components within each tire assembly unit (TU).

Jump-start a dead battery

If you find yourself in a situation where your car battery is dead and you don’t have jumper cables, there are still ways to get yourself out of the jam.

There are some safety precautions you should take when jump-starting your car:

  • First, park the cars so the good battery faces the bad one, with nothing blocking them from each other.
  • Next, put both vehicles in the park or neutral (depending on what type of transmission you have) so that they don’t move while starting up.
  • Connect positive first, then negative—otherwise known as “Plus to Plus” and “Negative to Negative.” Make sure they’re tightly connected and not shorting out against anything else before proceeding with cranking it over with a friend’s help. If all goes well, your car will start right up!

Change a flat tire

Changing a flat tire is one of the most common repairs you’ll need to make on your car. Fortunately, it’s also an easy repair. Here’s how to change a flat:

  • Use the jack to lift the vehicle and put blocks underneath the wheel that has a flat tire. Remove the hubcap and loosen the lug nuts (these are usually found on the wheel).
  • Unscrew them all and pull off each wheel from its axle; then pull out all four tires from under your van or truck bed so you can get them replaced easily later on when you’re finished with this project!
  • Take off whatever spare tire is underneath where it belongs if there isn’t one already installed there (this will be easier than doing this whole process over again later when we’re done working for today).

Repair a loose brake pedal

If your brake pedal is loose and you can move it up and down, then this is most likely due to a worn-out brake pad. To fix this issue, the mechanic will have to replace your brake pads and adjust the brakes.

If you’re looking for other possible causes of a loose pedal, make sure that there isn’t too much air in one or more of your tires. If there is too much air in one of the tires, then it may be causing an imbalance with all of the other wheels on your vehicle. This could cause problems with how well they grip onto surfaces as they rotate while driving at high speeds across pavement or dirt roads during rainy weather conditions such as thunderstorms or snowstorms since water tends not to stick well onto surfaces where there’s an imbalance between rotational velocity versus acceleration due to friction between two objects touching each other–in this case between rubber compound materials found within themselves combined with external forces acting upon them (like gravity pulling everything downward towards earth).

Diagnose an overheating engine

  • Check the coolant levels. If they’re low, you may need to add more coolant or even change it completely.
  • Check for debris in the radiator. If there is any, remove it and make sure that your radiator cap is set at its correct pressure level (usually around 25 psi). It’s also a good idea to check your hoses for cracks, as well as looking for any other signs of damage such as leaks coming from damaged hoses that could indicate a blown head gasket leaking into your engine block.
  • Make sure nothing is clogging up your radiator by checking under the hood for obvious problems like leaves or pine needles—or even plastic baggies used for trash collection (they can get sucked up into an engine if left behind).

These common repairs can help keep your vehicle on the road for longer.

The most common repairs your vehicle may need include the following:

  • Car battery replacement. If your car won’t start, you may have a dead battery or it could be an alternator problem. A bad battery or alternator can make the engine run slowly and take longer to start. You can check for signs of corrosion on the terminals in your car and replace them if necessary. It’s also important to check whether any wires are loose and clean them off with a wire brush before reinstalling them into their correct positions.
  • Replacement of the ignition coils. An ignition coil is part of the ignition system that generates voltage from power from the computer so that it runs through spark plugs, which ignite the fuel inside cylinders that turn pistons inside cylinders, creating motion for an engine along with air being sucked through vents on the top side or bottom sides depending where the car is sitting at the time; then pushed back out through exhaust pipe coming out behind driver’s seat leading into the atmosphere so as not damage ozone layer above earth’s surface (which we are protected by thanks global warming activists).

Conclusion

When you’re out on the road, you want to drive with confidence. If your car is starting to make strange noises or has started to break down, you must act quickly to get it fixed before it becomes a major problem. In most cases, these repairs are fairly simple and will take only a few hours at most. Be sure that whoever does your maintenance work is qualified for their trade, as many dishonest people would try and take advantage of unsuspecting customers.

Single Cab Tray Canopy Buying Guide

Photo by Octavian Dan on Unsplash

Introduction

There are a lot of options when it comes to buying a single cab tray canopy. In this guide, you’ll learn about the different types of canopies, their benefits, and what to look for when choosing one for your vehicle.

What is a Single Cab Tray Canopy?

A canopy is a cover that protects the tray of your ute.

They come in a variety of materials, including aluminum, fiberglass, and steel, and allow you to carry out work or recreation activities while protecting yourself from harsh weather conditions. They also provide shelter for passengers and can be used when traveling long distances as well.

How to Choose the Right Single Cab Tray Canopy for Your Ute

  • Choose a canopy that is going to fit your vehicle.
  • Choose a canopy that is going to suit your needs.
  • Choose a canopy that is going to be durable.
  • Choose a canopy that is going to be easy to install.

Do I Need a Toolbox on My Canopy?

A toolbox is another storage option for your canopy. They are usually located under the cab and can be either hard or soft-sided. Hard toolboxes are typically used to hold tools, while soft ones can be used to store camping supplies, food items, and other miscellaneous items. The size and placement of your toolbox will vary based on the type of vehicle you have—single cabs typically have smaller toolboxes than crew cabs, while larger trucks may not even have a toolbox at all because they’re too big!

If you don’t plan on using it, then just leave it empty or use it as extra space for something else like storing firewood or creating a table surface area with folding chairs inside so nobody has to sit directly in front of those dirty tires when eating breakfast together before hitting the road again (because nothing ruins day one like sitting next to some smelly rubber).

What are the Benefits of Buying a Single Cab Tray Canopy Over a Hardtop?

The main benefit of buying a single cab canopy is that it protects you from the elements. If you’re looking for a way to beat the sun, rain, and wind on your next adventure, then this is it.

Additionally, single-cab canopies will stop the wind from blowing in your face as well. This can be very helpful when you’re trying to take those scenic photos or videos while driving down the road!

Another great advantage is that they can also be used for storage! This makes them great if you want somewhere to put things like tools or camping equipment while out on your adventures.

What is Dual Side Access?

Dual-side access is simply a truck bed cover that allows you to access your cargo from both sides of the vehicle. This design is advantageous because it allows you to load and unload cargo quickly and easily. For example, if you need to load multiple items into your truck bed, it would be difficult if they were all on one side of the vehicle. With dual-side access, you can eliminate this issue by being able to reach both sides of your truck bed with ease.

This feature also has other benefits, such as allowing more room for loading larger items or equipment into a smaller pickup truck bed or SUV trunk space. If you own a larger vehicle but need extra space for transporting cargo and large items, this feature could be extremely beneficial!

How do I Install My Single Cab Tray Canopy?

If the canopy itself doesn’t come with installation instructions, you can find them on the manufacturer’s website. Some manufacturers will include an instruction sheet that is specific to your vehicle model. These instructions are different from those provided by a manufacturer who makes trays for multiple vehicles as well as single-cab tray canopies.

To install your new canopy, you will need to remove your existing one first. You will then need to drill holes into the vehicle’s tray and attach it with bolts or other fasteners. The canopy should also be attached in such a way that it does not interfere with any of the airbags or other safety equipment in the vehicle (you can use velcro straps for this).

With so many options to choose from it can be difficult to find the right single cab tray canopy for your vehicle needs. By following this guide, you should be able to make an informed decision.

A single-cab tray canopy can be an excellent choice if you’re looking for a secure way to carry items that are too big or heavy for your vehicle’s tailgate. They are designed specifically for people who use their utes or trucks frequently and may be able to fit into tight spaces when parking.

Many different types of trays are available on the market today, so you must choose one that is compatible with the type of vehicle that you drive. A good-quality hardtop will cost between $800 and $1200, depending on whether it’s made of steel or aluminum (aluminum tends to be more expensive).

Conclusion

Hopefully, this guide has helped you understand what features a single cab tray canopy should have and how to choose one that suits your needs. At the end of the day, it’s all about your budget and what kind of look you are after. If money is no object, then go for an expensive option with all the bells and whistles!

The Ultimate 4WD Tyre Safety Checklist

Photo by Rod Long on Unsplash

Introduction

Driving a 4WD is an adventure, but it also requires some extra preparation. This includes checking that each tire on your car is in good shape and fit for purpose. Your vehicle’s tyres are the only thing holding you to the road, so make sure they are properly maintained and not worn out or damaged. Here’s our ultimate checklist for how to check your 4WD:

Tyre selection

  • Tyre selection is based on the vehicle type, terrain type and tyre size.
  • If a specific tyre size is required by law for your vehicle, ensure that you choose one that meets this requirement. However, it’s important to remember that there are limits to what can be changed – for example, wider tyres can only be fitted if there is sufficient clearance in your wheels to allow them look at 4WD tyres in Gold Coast. Also, check that your suspension can handle the extra load from larger tyres.

Tyre pressure

  • Check the tyre pressure of your vehicle regularly.
  • Inflate to the correct pressure recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Use a tyre pressure gauge, as they are more accurate than air compressors and will ensure that you’re not over or under-pressurising your tyres.
  • Ensure that you have an easy-to-access, working tyre pressure warning light on your dash so that if one of your tyres degrades in performance, it can be fixed immediately before any damage is done to other parts of your car (or yourself!). Low tyre pressure can cause:
  • Poor fuel economy
  • Increased wear and tear on other components such as brakes and suspension

Tyre rotation

Tyre rotation is a vital part of tyre maintenance, as it helps ensure wear is even across the tread and prevents damage to your tyres. Tires should be rotated every 6,000 km (3,728 mi) or every 12 months, whichever comes first.

Whether you have front-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive will determine which tyres are mounted on the front axle and which are mounted on the back. Each set of four tyres should be in its unique position when it comes time to rotate them (front left – rear right; front right – rear left). If you don’t rotate your tyres regularly enough, this can lead to uneven wear patterns developing over time, which may result in premature tire wear and an overall reduction in fuel efficiency for your vehicle.

Tyre tread

Tyre tread is measured in millimeters. A tyre with a minimum tread depth of 1.6 mm will perform best in wet weather conditions, and it should be checked when the tyre is cold, as this provides an accurate measurement. You can use a penny to check your tread depth. Place Lincoln’s head upside down in the grove of the tire, then move it around until you see his hairline at least halfway between Lincoln’s ears and his shoulders. If you can’t see any of his hairlines or only see part of them, then you need new tyres!

If you’re buying new tyres anyway, consider purchasing ones that have higher levels of siping (small cuts on the surface) or grooves which help channel water away from under your vehicle’s contact patch with the road surface

Tyre size and type

You need to know the size and type of your tyres, which are usually written on the tyre sidewall.

The tyre size identifies its circumference and width, while the type refers to whether it is a radial (R) or bias (B) tyre. The difference between these two types is how they are constructed, with one being stronger but more rigid, while the other is lighter but less durable. Both have their uses in 4WDs—for example, R-rated tyres are suitable for driving on sealed roads and light off-road use as they have a better grip on wet surfaces; B-rated tyres can be used for moderate to aggressive off-roading and heavy load carrying.

Properly check your 4WD tyres to ensure you are safe on the road

  • Check your tyre pressure. You should be checking the pressure of your tyres at least once a month, if not more often depending on the type and condition of your tyres. If you do not have a tyre gauge, then it is best to take 4WD Tyres to a reputable mechanic or tyre expert for them to check and fill up your tyres with air as necessary.
  • Ensure you have enough tread depth. Tread depth is important because it provides traction between your tyres and the road surface when driving in wet conditions and prevents hydroplaning (when water builds up between the tyre treads). When purchasing new 4WD Tyres, make sure they have enough tread depth for where you live – if possible buy ones that are suitable for off-road use but still safe enough for urban driving as well!

Conclusion

We hope this article has helped you better understand the importance of checking your tyres. Keeping up with your tyre maintenance can seem like a hassle, but with the information in this post, we hope that you feel more confident and know what to look out for when doing so. By knowing these tips, you will be able to keep your car running at its best!

SOUTH BOSTON, VA…..When South Boston Speedway opens its 2023 NASCAR racing season on Saturday afternoon, March 18 a new bit of history will unfold.

The 2023 season will mark the 40th year of Late Model Stock Car Division racing at the historic Halifax County, Virginia speedway and a new division sponsor, Sentara Healthcare, will be on board.

“The history and tradition of Late Model Stock Car racing at South Boston Speedway is very rich,” said South Boston Speedway General Manager Chase Brashears. “The Late Model Stock Car racing at South Boston is some of the most competitive you will see anywhere. The competition is intense, and fans have been treated to thrilling action in the division for the majority of the track’s 66-year history.”

When it comes to Late Model Stock Car racing, South Boston Speedway has traditionally featured formats and race lengths that are popular among both competitors and fans and provide great competition. In most instances, South Boston Speedway’s regular Late Model Stock Car feature races are either 100 laps or twin 75-lap races.

South Boston Speedway’s 2023 season schedule includes the track’s showcase NASCAR Late Model Stock Car event, the Thunder Road Harley-Davidson 200 presented by Grand Atlantic Ocean Resort on Saturday night, July 1. That event is the kickoff race of the Virginia Late Model Triple Crown.

To appreciate the excitement that lies ahead, it is worth taking a quick journey back through the history of Late Model Stock Car racing at South Boston Speedway.

When one looks back through South Boston Speedway’s history with Late Model Stock Car racing one finds that drivers who were able to put together a good number of wins against the tough competition that exists at the .4-mile oval put themselves in a position to win the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series national championship.

South Boston Speedway’s 2022 Late Model champion, Layne Riggs of Bahama, North Carolina, is an example. Riggs won 16 races last season enroute to winning the NASCAR national championship – 10 of them coming at South Boston Speedway where he won 10 of 16 starts.

NASCAR National Champion Peyton Sellers of Danville, Virginia, and former NASCAR national champions Phillip Morris, Lee Pulliam, Matt Bowling and Barry Beggarly also found success at South Boston Speedway was a key to winning a national championship.

To highlight how competitive Late Model Stock Car racing has been at South Boston Speedway over the years it must be pointed out that there have been only nine occasions when a driver has won 10 or more races in a single season.

Morris, the leader in career Late Model Stock Car wins at the track with 76 wins, accomplished that feat three times. He won 15 of 22 starts in 1998, won 20 of 23 starts in 2011 and earned 10 wins in 2018. Sellers won 12 races in 2005, Elliott Sadler won 11 races in 1995, and Pulliam won 11 races in 2013. Brandon Butler won 10 races in 2001, Adam Barker won 10 races in 2007 and Riggs won 10 races last season.

South Boston Speedway’s first spectator event of the 2023 season will be the SoBo Drifts Powered by Barlow’s Tire on Saturday, March 4. The track will host its annual pre-season test day on the following weekend, Saturday, March 11.

The track’s first NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series racing event is set for Saturday afternoon, March 18, featuring twin 75-lap races for the Sentara Healthcare Late Model Stocks and races for the track’s Limited Sportsman, Pure Stock and Hornets divisions.

A total of 13 events are currently set on the 2023 South Boston Speedway schedule. Advance tickets for all 2023 events are on sale on the track’s website, southbostonspeedway.com.

For South Boston Speedway’s regular NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series events tickets will be priced at $12 in advance and $15 at the gate on the day of the event.

Tickets for the April 1 event featuring the powerful open-wheel cars of the SMART Modified Tour, the 150-lap Sentara Healthcare Late Model Stock Car Division event on August 19 and the October 7 CARS Tour event are priced at $17 in advance and $20 at the gate on the day of the event.

Tickets for the July 1 Thunder Road Harley-Davidson 200, the opening race of the Virginia Late Model Triple Crown, are priced at $20 in advance and $25 at the gate on the day of the event.

Seniors ages 65 and older, military, healthcare workers, and students (with ID) can purchase tickets at the advance ticket price in advance and at the gate on the day of the event.

Dale Jr. to Drive No. 88 Hellmann’s Chevrolet in NXS Bristol Night Race; Six Unilever Primaries for Justin Allgaier and No. 7 Team

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Jan. 10, 2023) – JR Motorsports and Unilever, one of the world’s leading suppliers of food, refreshments, home and personal care products, have reached a milestone as they extend their partnership into its 15th year in 2023, the team announced today. Unilever entered its first year of partnership with JRM in 2009, when the team was a two-car operation in its fourth season of full-time NXS racing. A decade-and-a-half later, Unilever is now JRM’s longest-tenured partner and one of the longest-running active sponsors in NASCAR where it will utilize JRM’s racing partnership to continue to market consumer brands like Hellmann’s.

“We are so proud and excited to continue our partnership with Dale Jr. and his team at JR Motorsports,” says Ben Crook, VP/GM Dressings & Condiments Unilever North America. “The equal passion that NASCAR fans have for their favorite brands like Hellmann’s and drivers like Dale Jr. is what makes this partnership so special. We look forward to continuing this ride with Dale for years to come.”

Unilever offers products in multiple categories, including mayonnaise, dijonnaise, and white spoonable dressings products, ketchup, ice cream, frozen yogurt, and frozen confectionery desserts; personal care products, including men’s hair shampoo, men’s hair conditioner, men’s hair styling products, men’s body wash and men’s deodorant.

Earnhardt Jr. will bolster his streak of racing a Unilever-branded Chevy every year since 2009. Last season he drove the No. 88 Hellmann’s Chevrolet, which carried a special fan-voted paint scheme, at Martinsville Speedway.

Allgaier, too, has found success with Hellmann’s, taking the Unilever brand to Victory Lane twice in 2022 in races at Darlington Raceway and Nashville Superspeedway. Details on the schedule, track locations and featured brands for the races with Allgaier and the No. 7 team will be forthcoming.
