Moji Sushi Partners with Front Row Motorsports

New Partner for Todd Gilliland’s No. 38 Team in Martinsville

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Oct. 25, 2022) – Moji Sushi, ready-to-eat sushi rolls made with Louis Kemp Surimi Seafood, will partner with Front Row Motorsports (FRM) and Todd Gilliland for the first time this weekend at Martinsville (VA) Speedway.

“This car will really stand out on Sunday in Martinsville,” Gilliland said. “I am very thankful to Moji Sushi for coming on board this weekend. Hopefully, we can put this bright pink No. 38 up towards the front and deliver a sold run for them.”

Both Todd and Moji Sushi have speed in their DNA, making NASCAR the perfect platform to promote the convenience and quality of Moji Sushi rolls.

“I started Moji Sushi with the passion to help make school lunches healthier”, Moji Sushi owner and Founder, Philip Sinz, said. “I rolled sushi early each morning and delivered to as many schools as possible before the lunch bell rang, driving my car as fast as I could. I wish I partnered with Todd in the beginning, because I could have delivered a lot more sushi. I’m looking forward to seeing Todd take Moji Sushi to a whole new level!”

Gilliland returns to Martinsville, the site of the first top-10 qualifying run of his rookie campaign, with hopes of improving on his finish from the spring.

“I really like racing at Martinsville,” continued Gilliland. “We had a lot of speed the last time we ran here and were able to qualify well. We lost the handling of the car as the sun went down and just never seemed to get it back. I am looking forward to getting there this weekend and ready to get a better result.”

Gilliland and the Moji Sushi No. 38 Ford race at Martinsville on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. ET on NBC.

Keselowski at Martinsville

  • Keselowski, a two-time winner at Martinsville, is set for his 26th Cup start at the .526-mile track. It ranks as his third-best track statistically with an 11.1 average finish (behind only Loudon and Pocono). He finished 17th there this spring.
  • He has finished top-10 in 17 of his 25 starts at ‘The Paperclip,’ good enough for 68 percent of his outings. Of those 17 top-10s, 12 finishes have been inside the top five. Keselowski earned his first Martinsville win back in 2017 in the spring race, and won that same race again two years later.
  • Keselowski has finished fifth or better in 11 of his last 15 Martinsville races, and of those finished runner-up twice, as well as third three times.
  • His average starting position at Martinsville is 11.3 with one career pole, the fall race in 2020, with 14 starts inside the top-10 all time. He earned a P9 starting position there this spring.
  • Keselowski also made four Truck Series starts from 2004-07.

Matt McCall at Martinsville

  • McCall will call his 15th Cup race from Martinsville this weekend where he has seven top-10s and a 15.1 average finish.

  • McCall’s average starting position stands as 14.7 with five starts inside the top-10.

“I feel good about where we’re at headed into the weekend. We had a really great test here a few weeks back, and both our cars unloaded with speed in the spring in what felt like a long time ago compared to how far we’ve come in the summer months. Sunday is yet another great opportunity for our team and we’re excited to get it going in the Kohler Generators Mustang.”

Keselowski finished top-10 in each of the stages Sunday at Homestead-Miami Speedway and finished fifth in the Violet Defense Ford, his first top five and best finish of the season.

Buescher on racing at Martinsville:
“Martinsville is another track where the tables have turned a bit for us lately, in a good way, so we’re ready to get back up there. Both of our RFK cars had speed there this spring, and we both had great qualifying runs inside the top-10. RFK Racing and Fifth Third Bank to Honor Matt Kenseth at Martinsville

No. 17 Ford to feature 2012 Tribute Scheme in honor of Hall of Fame Induction

CONDORD, N.C. (Oct. 25, 2022) – RFK Racing and Fifth Third Bank will honor Matt Kenseth and his upcoming induction into the NASCAR Hall of Fame with a special paint scheme on Chris Buescher’s No. 17 Ford at the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series race at Martinsville Speedway. Kenseth, who scored Jack Roush’s first Cup championship in 2003, originally piloted the No. 17 Fifth Third Bank Ford in 2012 and this weekend’s scheme will be a nod to that originally livery.

“Matt is really one of the guys that helped to put us on the map,” said Hall of Fame team owner Jack Roush. “Mark (Martin) brought to my attention early on and was adamant that we needed to sign Matt and put him in a car.

“He ended up being one of the most talented and productive drivers in the sport’s history and we are very proud to see him be honored and inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.”

Kenseth piloted the No. 17 Ford from 2000-12, accruing one of the most successful tenures in the sport’s history. He was named the Cup Series rookie of the year in 2000, before becoming RFK’s first Cup champion in 2003. A perennial championship contender in the No. 17, Kenseth went on to win 24 races for Roush, including a pair of Daytona 500 Championships in 2009 and 2012. The latter marked the team’s historic 300th NASCAR victory.

Kenseth returned to RFK in 2018, piloting the famed No. 6 Ford in 15 events, while closing out his tenure with the team with a pair of top-seven finishes at Phoenix and Homestead. He will join Roush and Martin in the NASCAR Hall of Fame, when he is officially inducted in January.

RFK Racing also ran tribute schemes to both Martin and Kenseth earlier this year at Darlington’s famed throwback race weekend event.

The throwback Fifth Third Ford will be on track first this Saturday at 12 p.m. ET, followed by qualifying at 12:45 p.m. Race coverage Sunday is set for 2 p.m. ET on NBC, with radio coverage set for MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

Buescher is coming off a 15th-place run at Martinsville this spring where he qualified fourth, and last fall finished ninth in this race for his first top-10 at ‘The Paperclip.’

Herta inks four-year contract extension with Andretti Autosport

Photo by Simon Scoggins for SpeedwayMedia.com.

Colton Herta has renewed his contract with Andretti Autosport to remain as a full-time NTT IndyCar Series competitor for the organization along with sponsor Gainbridge, a Group 1001 company, through the 2027 season.

The contract extension will keep the 22-year-old second-generation competitor from Valencia, Santa Clarita, California, as the driver of the No. 26 Andretti Autosport Dallara-Honda sponsored by Gainbridge for a third full-time season and beyond, beginning in 2023. He is coming off his fourth full-time season in the IndyCar circuit, where he recorded his lone victory of the 2022 campaign in the GMR Grand Prix at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course in May. Coupled with an additional podium at the Exhibition Place in Toronto, Canada, in July along with a total of seven top-10 results throughout the 17-race schedule, Herta concluded the 2022 season in 10th place in the final driver’s standings.

“I’m super happy and grateful for everything the entire Andretti and Gainbridge teams have done for me,” Herta said. “This is a huge step for me professionally, and I’m so glad it can be with a top team like Andretti Autosport. We have big goals and a lot of work ahead of us, but I can’t be happier to do it with this team and represent Gainbridge.”

After making his inaugural presence in the IndyCar circuit at Sonoma Raceway with Harding Racing in September 2018, Herta embarked in his first full-time campaign in the series during the following season for Harding Steinbrenner Racing. He claimed his maiden IndyCar victory at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, in March before proceeding to win the season-finale event at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Herta then joined Andretti Autosport for the 2020 season, where he has since notched five victories, nine podiums, six poles and 620 laps led. His best points result to this date is third place, which occurred in 2020.

Through a total of 65 career starts in the IndyCar Series, Herta has achieved seven victories, 11 podiums, nine poles, 764 laps led and an average-finishing result of 11.0.

“We’re really pleased to confirm that Colton and Gainbridge will remain with Andretti Autosport for years to come,” Michael Andretti, Chairman and CEO of Andretti Autosport, said. “Colton is a true talent in a race car and has natural determination that makes him want to win. He’s a strong competitor and a good teammate. I’m looking forward to seeing what Colton and Andretti can continue to achieve together. We’ve been really proud to represent Gainbridge, and to have given them their first racing victory with Colton in 2020 — and four more since,” added Andretti. “On and off the track we share a commitment to compete at the top level and look forward to seeing Colton return to victory lane in the yellow and black Gainbridge colors.”

The 2023 season will also mark the fifth year of sponsorship for Gainbridge with Herta and the sixth overall for the Group 1001 company in IndyCar, which first joined forces with Andretti Autosport in 2018 with a mission to inspire STEM learning and career explorations through its presence in the IndyCar Series.

“Gainbridge is proud to continue its successful relationship with Andretti through this new contract extension with Colton,” Dan Towriss, CEO and President of Group 1001, the parent company of Gainbridge, added. “We have high hopes for both Colton and Gainbridge and believe they’re destined to become household names. With his natural talent and winning spirit, Colton won’t stop until he changes the landscape of racing. He’s the perfect representative for Gainbridge, who is changing the landscape of financial services. With his natural talent and winning spirit, Colton won’t stop until he changes the landscape of racing. He’s the perfect representative for Gainbridge, who is changing the landscape of financial services.”

For the 2023 season, Herta will be one of four full-time competitors representing Andretti Autosport in the IndyCar grid along with Romain Grosjean, Devlin DeFrancesco and newcomer Kyle Kirkwood. Marco Andretti is scheduled to pilot a fifth Andretti Autosport entry in the 107th running of the Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in May.

With his plans for the future set, Herta’s 2023 IndyCar season is scheduled to commence at the Streets of St. Petersburg, Florida, for the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on March 5. The event’s coverage will occur at noon ET on NBC.

● Location: Martinsville (Va.) Speedway

● Layout: .526-mile oval

● Laps/Miles: 500 laps/263 miles

● Stage Lengths: Stage 1: 130 laps / Stage 2: 130 laps / Final Stage: 240 laps

● TV/Radio: NBC / MRN / SiriusXM NASCAR Radio

Notes of Interest

● Chase Briscoe’s approach to the penultimate NASCAR Cup Series race of the 2022 season, the Xfinity 500 at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway, has shifted drastically since the season’s first visit to the Virginia short track in March. Briscoe enters Sunday’s race in a must-win position, eighth in the playoff standings and 44 points below the cutoff line to advance to the following weekend’s Championship 4 at Phoenix Raceway. Should Briscoe take home the victory, he will leave with the ornate grandfather clock traditionally awarded to the Martinsville race winner and, more importantly, lock himself into the chance to compete for his first Cup Series championship in just his second season.

● Though the Mitchell, Indiana, native struggled to find his footing on short tracks in the Cup Series during his 2021 rookie season, the switch to the NextGen racecar in 2022 brought about a change in Briscoe’s performance. In the first race of the season Feb. 6, the non-points Busch Light Clash on a purpose-built, quarter-mile paved oval inside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Briscoe was consistently one of the best on track through practice, qualifying and the opening laps of the feature race. Five weekends later, he went on to earn his first career Cup Series victory on the mile oval at Phoenix, then four weeks after that walked away from Martinsville with a ninth-place finish, his best result in three starts at the half-mile, paperclip-shaped oval.

● In the fall of 2020, when the NASCAR Xfinity Series returned to Martinsville after a 13-year hiatus, Briscoe drove to a seventh-place finish. The 27-year-old racer also owns two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts at Martinsville. His best result came in April 2017, when he started eighth and finished 11th. He returned that October to start on the pole and lead the first 39 laps before a late-race accident relegated him to a 19th-place finish.

● Including his maiden Cup Series victory at Phoenix on March 13, Briscoe has driven to top-15 finishes at all but two of this year’s races on tracks one mile or shorter – a 22nd-place finish April 17 in the dirt race at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway, where he led 59 laps but spun on the final lap while attempting a pass for the win, and a 23rd place finish at Richmond (Va.) Raceway on Aug. 14, when his No. 14 Ford Mustang caught fire while he was running top-five. Last year, Briscoe’s best finish on the shorter tracks on the Cup Series schedule was a 13th-place result earned in the fall at Bristol.

● Rush Truck Centers is proud to employ 2,500 talented service technicians throughout the largest network of commercial truck and bus dealerships in North America, operating in 23 states and Ontario, Canada. At Rush Truck Centers, service technicians are the heartbeat of its dealerships, and the company is always looking to add the best and brightest technicians to its team. Service technicians interested in looking for the next step in their careers can find additional information and listings of open positions on the Rush Enterprises Technician Careers page.

● All of the SHR racecars travel from race to race in haulers from Rush Truck Centers, the premier service solutions provider to the commercial vehicle industry. And this month, SHR haulers have sported unique mudflaps in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Rush Truck Centers has been proud to offer limited-edition pink Breast Cancer Awareness mudflaps through the month of October. For every mudflap sold, $4 has been donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation by Rush Truck Centers and mudflap manufacturer Roechling Industrial Gastonia.

● Indiana-based Cummins, from car owner Tony Stewart’s hometown of Columbus, is a corporation of complementary business segments that design, manufacture, distribute and service a broad portfolio of power solutions. It is best known for its diesel truck engines. Since its founding in 1919, Cummins has grown to employ approximately 61,600 people and serves customers in about 190 countries and territories through a network of some 8,000 wholly owned and independent dealer and distributor locations.

Chase Briscoe, Driver of the No. 14 Rush Truck Centers/Cummins Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing:

Teams have always had to adapt and change things with some of these tracks that we visit twice in a season. How much are you having to do that between visits with the NextGen?

“The car drives fairly similar each time around, but from a team strategy standpoint, the setups are totally different. I mean, they couldn’t even get more different than what they are just with the rule changes and how much more knowledge we have now about this car. It has really changed the game. You also have a better sense the second time around of how the racetrack races. Looking back at the first race at Martinsville, who would have thought going into the first race that it was going to be really hard to pass? We’re now going into the second race knowing that, so we’ll change our strategy to go along with that.”

Martinsville is one of those wild-card races where anything can happen and anyone can be the guy celebrating at the end. Does that make it the perfect race to host the cutoff leading into Championship Weekend?

“Yeah, it is kind of the perfect cutoff race. We go to some of these tracks and, especially on the short tracks, you can run out of patience pretty easily. You want to bump a guy and mess them up getting into a corner and you can’t even get to them. But at Martinsville, you have every opportunity to do that. When you add in the parity we’ve seen all year with the new car, it creates an opportunity for a lot more guys to be battling up front now for the win. Guys who aren’t normally up front trying to get their best run of the year are mixing it up with playoff guys, and the playoff guys are obviously racing for their chance to go to the championship. There’s just a lot of chaos that can ensue at the end of these cutoff races and then, when you put all of that on a track like Martinsville, it makes for a really unique race.”

What makes Martinsville so chaotic?

“Well, to make some of those moves guys typically want to make on a short track, whether that’s giving a little bump to mess up another driver, or even just going for the dive bomb, you have to have the opportunity. You need to be able to get right on their bumper. You can’t do that at a lot of these places, but at Martinsville you have to slow down so much for the corner. You can just drive in deeper and get right to their bumper or, if you can get to their inside or outside, you can take away the space they need to make that turn. If you want to get to a guy and move him up out of the groove, you’re going to get the chance to do it. You just hope you’re not the guy that someone is trying to move because it’s impossible to get away from and sometimes impossible to come back from.”

No track on the NASCAR Cup Series circuit has been better for Joey Logano when it comes to qualifying than Martinsville Speedway. Logano enters this weekend with an average starting position of 7.8, which is his best among all tracks in which he has more than 10 starts. He has five poles, including three in a row in 2015-16, and had an active streak of 18 straight top-10 starts (including races where qualifying was rained out) until he qualified 14th in the spring. In 27 career races at the half-mile short track, Logano has an average finishing position of 11.7 and has been running at the finish of every event, including the spring event when he came home second.

IS MARTINSVILLE BLANEY’S BEST?

Even though Ryan Blaney does not have a NASCAR Cup Series win in 13 starts at Martinsville Speedway, it’s still a place where he has a lot of confidence. Look no further than the fact that he’s had an average finishing position of 10.2, which is a personal best on tracks he’s had more than five starts. Blaney has six top-5 and seven top-10 efforts, including a fourth-place effort in the spring, and a pair of runner-up finishes in 2020. He enters Sunday’s elimination race in sixth place and is 18 points behind the final Championship 4 transfer spot.

BRISCOE IN NEED OF A WIN

Chase Briscoe knows what he needs to do in order to make his first Championship 4 appearance and that’s a win Sunday at Martinsville Speedway. The Stewart-Haas driver is in eighth place and finds himself 44 points out of the final Championship 4 berth. Briscoe has made three NASCAR Cup Series starts at Martinsville and is coming off a ninth place finish in the spring, which marked his best performance at the half-mile track. Overall, Briscoe has made only six starts in all three of NASCAR’s top series combined (3 Cup, 1 NXS, and 2 NCWTS).

Martinsville Highlights

BOWYER NETS FIRST FORD WIN

Clint Bowyer snapped a 190-race winless stretch by leading the final 114 laps to win the weather-delayed STP 500 in 2018. The win was Bowyer’s first with Ford and ninth of his career. He passed Ryan Blaney on lap 285 to gain the lead for the first time, and when Jamie McMurray brought out the caution 100 laps later after hitting the wall, Bowyer’s pit crew got him back out with the lead and that proved to be the difference. That capped a big day for Ford, which had five drivers finish in the Top 10 and saw Blaney win Stage 2.

KESELOWSKI WINS FIRST CLOCK

Brad Keselowski outdueled Kyle Busch down the stretch to win his first grandfather clock after capturing the STP 500 on Apr. 2, 2017. The two drivers waged a memorable battle that saw them swap the lead five times in the last 160 laps, but Keselowski ended up making the decisive pass on lap 458 and led the final 43 circuits to become the first repeat winner in 2017. Prior to winning at Martinsville, Keselowski took the checkered flag at Atlanta in the second race of the season.

A FIRST FOR FRED

The first time Ford won a NASCAR Cup Series race at Martinsville Speedway also marked the first career victory for 2015 NASCAR Hall of Famer Fred Lorenzen. The date was April 9, 1961 and Lorenzen battled Rex White, who led the first 118 laps after starting on the pole. Lorenzen, driving for Holman-Moody at the time, grabbed the lead on lap 119 and held it until rain came ending the race prematurely after 149 circuits. Little did anyone know that 54 years later both men would be enshrined into the NASCAR Hall of Fame as part of the same induction class. Martinsville was a place Lorenzen dominated, winning six times, including four straight from 1963-65. He was absolutely unbeatable in 1964 as he led 990 out of a possible 1,000 laps (487 in the first and 493 in the second) in winning both races.

CRAVEN WINS FIRST CUP RACE

Ricky Craven outlasted Dale Jarrett over the final laps to post the first victory of his NASCAR Cup Series career on Oct. 15, 2001 at Martinsville Speedway. Pit strategy played a key role in this race as Jarrett opted for four tires on his final stop while Craven just got two. That enabled Craven to build a lead following the ensuing restart with 17 to go, but Jarrett gained ground and found himself in position to win on the final lap. That’s when Jarrett went to the outside going into turn one and got side-by-side with Craven coming off turn two. Both Fords made contact door-to-door entering turn three, but Craven emerged off four with the advantage and took the checkered flag.

RUDD ROUGHS IT OUT

No driver displayed more toughness during his career than Ricky Rudd and that was evident again in 1998 when the Virginia native endured burns on his backside to win the NAPA Autocare 500 on Sept. 27. On a day that saw temperatures in the mid-nineties, Rudd found himself in a bad way just five laps into the race when his cooling unit failed. As the cockpit got hotter he asked to have a relief driver standing by, so Hut Stricklin was in the pit area ready to takeover. Ice packs helped momentarily, but his back was blistering so the team tried to cool him off with a hose. Unfortunately, the hose they used had been lying in the sun, so when they doused him the first time the water was hot. That method worked better on later stops, but in the end it was Rudd who toughed it out and led the final 96 laps to win and extend his streak to 16 consecutive seasons with at least one NASCAR Cup Series win.

Howie DiSavino III Confident Ahead of Martinsville Speedway Return

MARTINSVILLE, Va: Preparing for his final NASCAR Xfinity Series start of the 2022 season with Alpha Prime Racing, Howie DiSavino III invades Martinsville (Va.) Speedway for Saturday afternoon’s Dead On Tools 250 looking for no tricks but plenty of treats.

The Chesterfield, Va. native returns to the famed Virginia short track determined to rebound from the spring race where an impressive outing was derailed by a mechanical failure.

Since April, the 21-year-old has had the 0.526-mile short track circled on his calendar as an opportunity to save his best performance for last.

“I’m super excited to get back to Martinsville Speedway this weekend,” said DiSavino. “It will be the first track in an Xfinity car that I have prior laps at and I think that will make a huge difference throughout the weekend.

“The Alpha Prime Racing team brought me a really fast Chevrolet Camaro earlier this year, unfortunately, we just had a situation that was beyond our control. Together, we are looking forward at the opportunity to return to Martinsville and finish what we started.”

In the penultimat Xfinity Series race of the season, DiSavino and the Mooresville, N.C.- based team welcome back the Travis Mills Foundation which will adorn its logos on the No. 45 Chevrolet Camaro in the highly-anticipated 250-lap race.

The Travis Mills Foundation supports recalibrated veterans and their families through various programs that help these heroic men and women overcome physical and emotional obstacles, strengthen their families, and provide well-deserved rest and relaxation.

The Foundation was established by U.S. Army SSG (Ret.) Travis Mills.

“Travis and his Foundation are the definitions of what it means to be American,” added DiSavino. “The love, care and inspiration they provide for our wounded soldiers trying to adjust to life back home is a true example of dedication to a cause.

“Being able to showcase the Travis Mills Foundation again might be one of the most special things I’ve done as a race car driver.”

In addition to the Travis Mills Foundation, DiSavino and his Alpha Prime team will also welcome back Richard Green Racing as a major associate partner for the 32nd race of the season.

A native of Enosburg Falls, Vermont, Green is a longtime supporter of the Northeast Racing scene and a friend of the DiSavino family. A former driver himself, Green has now hung up his helmet and focused on being a successful car owner at the famed Thunder Road Speedbowl in Barre, Vermont.

In addition to being a car owner, Green has been notorious for supporting other young drivers in their racing endeavors and will attend Saturday afternoon’s race along with family and friends to support the Chesterfield, Va. driver.

“Richard, Liz and their whole Thunder Road Speedbowl race team from Vermont were guests during the spring race,” explained DiSavino. “It felt like they were part of our family, so when the opportunity arose to continue the partnership for the fall race, we couldn’t wait to make it happen again!”

Since his last race at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway earlier this month, DiSavino can be found daily nestled in Mooresville, N.C.- either working thoroughly through his fitness program, his race preparation guideline or on the telephone with current and potential partners trying to increase his presence in the Xfinity Series in 2023.

His discipline to be able to multitask has given him the continued optimistic vibe that his hard work and relentless efforts will be rewarded not only this weekend but in the future.

“This is what I want to do and I’m going to do everything I can to stay competing in NASCAR for years and years to come,” added DiSavino. “I am a very focused and detailed person and even though I multitask throughout the day, my race preparation has never been more prominent.

“I have been spending countless hours of iRacing either by myself or with others while remaining very focused on my physical regimen to make sure when I climb in the car for practice and qualifying on Friday afternoon, I step up to the plate and continue the strong efforts of the No. 45 car at Martinsville.

“This is my last race of the year and with a little luck and a lot of determination, a top-15 finish should be within our reach.”

Veteran Cup spotter Clayton Hughes will guide DiSavino from above this weekend as his spotter.

NITRO RALLYCROSS & TRAVIS PASTRANA SET TO THRILL SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA; BRIAN DEEGAN & LIA BLOCK ADDED TO SIDE-BY-SIDE DRIVER ROSTER

NITRO RX COMING TO GLEN HELEN RACEWAY THIS WEEKEND: OCTOBER 29-30
WATCH NITRO RX LOS ANGELES LIVE ON PEACOCK IN THE UNITED STATES, ON YOUTUBE WORLDWIDE

(Los Angeles / Tuesday – October 25, 2022) Nitro Rallycross, the disruptive new force in motorsports created by global icon Travis Pastrana (USA), returns to Southern California October 29-30. This Saturday and Sunday, iconic Glen Helen Raceway will host a wild weekend of four-wheel action featuring champion drivers from F1 and European Rallycross, plus music, games, food and fun. Combining the intense racing of rallycross with the big air excitement of Nitro Circus, Nitro RX is truly where cars fly and tracks thrill.

Last fall at Glen Helen Raceway, Pastrana topped the Nitro RX podium on his way to taking the 2021 series crown. Now, following his victory at Minneapolis’ ERX Motor Park earlier this month, Pastrana is aiming to keep his winning streak alive. Pastrana is also going back to his motocross roots at Glen Helen, where he enjoyed much success over the course of his two-wheel racing career.

Pastrana looks to take the checkered flag piloting the most powerful vehicle in rallycross: the revolutionary all-electric FC1-X which competes in Nitro RX’s new top class, Group E. Capable of producing the electric equivalent of 1,070 peak horsepower (800 kW), the FC1-X can accelerate from 0-60 in just 1.4 seconds, launching faster off the line than an F1 car.

To keep the first-place trophy, Pastrana will have to fend off a stacked lineup of elite drivers. Andreas Bakkerud (NOR) and Robin Larsson (SWE) of DRR JC/RX Cartel earned champagne baths at each of Nitro RX’s first two rounds and both are eager to reclaim the top prize. Legendary F1 world champion Jenson Button (GBR) as well as Oliver Eriksson (SWE) and his brother Kevin Erkisson (SWE), plus Fraser McConnell (JAM), Oliver Bennett (GBR) and Conner Martell (USA) are also ready to mix it up.

They will all have to face Nitro RX’s tough track, which will push competitors’ limits thanks to its huge gap jump, along with banked turns and steep sand berms inspired by motocross.

In addition to the electrifying Group E, Nitro RX Los Angeles will feature a tough Side-by-Side (SxS) competition. Moto legend Brian Deegan (USA) leads the potent roster alongside Pastrana, who will pull double duty defending his Minnesota SxS title, as well as decorated driver Robin Shute (GBR), a three-time Pikes Peak International Hill Climb champion.

Nitro RX Los Angeles will also showcase rising SxS talent, including Lia Block (USA) – following in her father Ken Block’s footsteps – and Ben Maier (USA), a 13-year old prodigy. Maier gave Pastrana and Deegan all they could handle in Minnesota with an impressive performance beyond his years, ultimately finishing second after Round Two.

Professional skateboarder, Brazilian Olympic athlete, race car driver and auto enthusiast Leticia Bufoni will compete in SxS as well.

The next generation of racing stars will also be on display in the NRX NEXT class that is set to light up the Glen Helen track, with the best up-and-coming talent from the United States and Europe set to do battle on SoCal soil.

How to Watch:

Nitro RX Los Angeles tickets are on sale now at nitrorallycross.com. Both general admission tickets ($20 single-day for Saturday / $25 single-day for Sunday) as well as VIP Club Nitro RX passes ($100 single-day for Saturday / $125 single-day for Sunday) are available (all prices plus additional taxes and fees). Nitro RX is fun for the whole family, too: Kids 12 and under can enjoy all of the high-speed action for free.

Fans outside of Southern California can also watch live on Peacock in the U.S. as well as on YouTube worldwide.

Nitro RX Los Angeles will be the second American stop on Nitro RX’s 2022/23 global calendar. It follows a swing of European races – the June series launch at the U.K.’s legendary Lydden Hill Race Circuit then a Sweden round in July – and the American kickoff outside Minneapolis, MN earlier this month. Additional stops include races in Phoenix, Saudi Arabia, Quebec and Alberta, all building to the first global Nitro RX season finale next March.

Event partners for Nitro RX Los Angeles include A SHOC Energy – Thrill One Sports & Entertainment’s Official Energy Drink – Yokohama Tire, Smirnoff Ice Smash, Myenergi and Guaranteed Rate.
