Carson Hocevar – Victoria’s Voice Foundation 200 Race Advance

Race Advance – Victoria’s Voice Foundation 200 (134 Laps/201 Miles) | Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Friday, March 4 | Las Vegas, Nev. | 9 p.m. ET

TV: FS1 | Radio: Motor Racing Network (MRN), Sirius XM Ch. 90

Team: No. 42 Premier Security Solutions Chevrolet Silverado

Driver: Carson Hocevar (Portage, Mich.) | Crew Chief: Phil Gould

Follow the Team: @NieceMotorsport; @CarsonHocevar

Hocevar on returning to Las Vegas Motor Speedway following a top-10 finish at Daytona: “We’re pretty excited for Las Vegas. I feel like we did our job at Daytona by getting some points in the bank. By having a solid finish we’ll be one of the last teams to roll off for qualifying which is going to be an advantage for us. Ultimately, you have to leave Daytona not in a points hole and we accomplished that. I’m excited to build on that and get to Las Vegas with our No. 42 Premier Security Solutions Chevrolet.”

Hocevar at Las Vegas Motor Speedway: Hocevar makes his third NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Friday night. He made both of his previous starts during his rookie season in 2021, producing a 24th-place finish in the spring race and a 22nd-place finish in the fall event.

Hocevar’s 22nd-place finish in the fall race is deceiving, as the then-rookie ran in the top-10 for most of the night and led eight laps before a late-race, green flag pit stop mired him in the back half of the field.

On the Truck: Hocevar and the No. 42 Chevrolet Silverado will carry the Premier Security Solutions paint scheme for Friday night’s Victoria’s Voice Foundation 200 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Last time out (NextEra Energy 250 – Start: 22nd / Finish: 9th): Hocevar and the No. 42 team were positioned in the second pack of trucks for a majority of the first two stages of the NextEra Energy 250 before crew chief Phil Gould made the call for a two-tire stop under caution on lap 65 while most of the leaders opted for fuel only. The call paid off as Hocevar made a charge to the front while avoiding a wreck in turn four on lap 81 before ultimately restarting 11th in overtime. Hocevar continued his push forward, but a caution on the front stretch on the final lap halted his charge, resulting in a ninth-place finish. The 19 year-old posted the 10th-fastest overall lap average on the night (49.682).

I feel like I’ve done every job on the racecar and in the shop, so that means I know my way around a lot of the equipment United Rentals provides,” said Preece, a dedicated Ford Performance driver in each series in which he competes. “Scissor lifts, forklifts, generators, air compressors – I’ve rented them and run them. This partnership with United Rentals is as authentic as they come, and I’m proud to represent them.”

“Ryan joined Stewart-Haas Racing at the beginning of the year and his value to our organization is already being felt,” said Brett Frood, President, SHR. “He epitomizes the old-school racing mentality that is at the core of our organization’s DNA. Thad Moffitt will make just his second-career NCWTS start driving the Clean Harbors Silverado RST, coming two weeks after his series debut at Daytona, which resulted in a solid 18th-place finish. The fourth-generation driver will experience Truck racing on an intermediate track for the first time, relying on past experience in the ARCA Menards Series to help acclimate him to the type of track.

“Clean Harbors was the first major partner in my career, and they have supported me since 2017. It’s great to kick off the start of our 2022 partnership this weekend, and I look forward to representing them in additional races later this season. Las Vegas Motor Speedway is a track that I’ve never been to before, and Clean Harbors has never been a primary sponsor of a truck, so this will be a new experience for all of us. I’m excited to continue to grow our partnership and am ready to debut this awesome looking Silverado!” said Moffitt prior to the announcement.

“We’ve watched and backed Thad as he’s risen through the ranks year after year. We’re incredibly proud that he’s taking this next step into the Truck Series,” said Buddy Judy, Clean Harbors director of motorsports. “We’re especially excited to see him compete this year as the driver of the iconic No. 43. It’s a historic moment for the sport and, for the Clean Harbors family, it’s a full-circle realization after being partners with Thad’s grandfather and the Petty family for so long.”

Moffitt will compete in a hybrid schedule in 2022 which will include the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, ARCA Menards Series and Trans AM. EDDIE TAFOYA IS EAGER FOR TWO RACE USAC/CRA CENTRAL CALIFORNIA TRIP

221878616_10165489278430201_2682920001173314178_n.jpg Eddie Tafoya Jr. is fourth in USAC/CRA points heading into this week's races.

(Chino Hills, CA, February 28, 2022) Normally, five weeks would not seem like a long time to USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series competitor Eddie Tafoya Jr. However, coming off a series-best second-place finish at Arizona’s Cocopah Speedway at the end of January, the wait for this weekend’s Central California doubleheader at the Stone Chevrolet Buick GMC Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare and Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford has seemed like an eternity.

Second-generation sprint car racer Tafoya, who lives in Chino Hills, California, opened the 2022 season with a seventh-place finish at Cocopah. The following night he slipped back two spots and finished ninth. The highlight of the weekend came when he drove the beautiful #51T to a second-place finish in the 30-lap main on the final night before heading back to So Cal. The three top 10 finishes to open the campaign see the 2019 “Rookie of the Year” fourth in the 2022 championship standings before this week’s races.

Friday’s race will only be Tafoya’s second appearance at Tulare. His first outing at the track came last March and it is one he plans to improve on. The likable driver qualified 16th in the 21-car field with a time of 16.543. After qualifications, he started in the first heat race and finished his night on the last circuit of the 10-lapper when he flipped into the turn one billboards. The crash did not seem exceptionally violent, but after returning to the pits, Tafoya’s crew quickly found out the unforgiving Tulare billboards were a clear KO winner as the chassis was destroyed.

While the 2018 Perris Auto Speedway Young Guns champion’s presence at Tulare will only be his second ever at the track, it is two more appearances than he has made at Keller Auto Speedway!

This week’s Central California doubleheader is the first of three for Tafoya and the other USAC/CRA drivers in 2022. The next time they pull the Tulare/Hanford double will be April 1st and 2nd and it will be followed by one more trip on July 8th and 9th.

Tafoya fans who cannot make the trek up the 99 this week can see both nights of action on Flo Racing. Details on a Flo Subscription are available at www.floracing.com.

This week’s action in Tulare will get underway when spectator gates open at 4:00 p.m. Hot laps will follow at 5:00 with qualifying at 6:00 and the first green flag of the night will be at 7:00. The Stone Chevrolet Buick GMC Thunderbowl Raceway is located at the Tulare County Fairgrounds on the corner of Bardsley and K Streets at 620 South K Street Tulare, California 93274. The track website is http://www.thunderbowlraceway.com/ and the office phone number is (559) 688-0909. Camping will be available off turns three and four.

Spectator gates in Hanford will swing open at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The track is located at 801 S. 10th Avenue in Hanford (93230) and its website is https://www.racekingsspeedway.com/

After this Friday and Saturday’s races, Tafoya will be off until the USAC/CRA Series joins the World of Outlaws for the annual “SoCal Shootout” at Perris Auto Speedway on March 26th.

Tafoya and the #51T team would like to welcome new sponsor Weld Wheels for joining the 2022 championship effort. He wants to thank them along with Specialty Fasteners, DRC Chassis, Ryder Racing Engines, Simpson Safety Products, Bell, Benic Enterprises, BR Motorsports, PSC Powder Coating, Magik Graphics, and Gasper Transportation for making this season possible.

If you or your company would like to be a part of the Specialty Fastener team’s 2022 season effort, please contact Eddie Tafoya Jr. via phone at (909) 393-3999 or by e-mail at teamtafoya@aol.com. He will be happy to talk to you and lay out the team’s 2022 plans.

How Old Do You Have To Be To Ride A Dirt Bike?

Photo by Taras Chernus on Unsplash

Dirt Bike riding is an enjoyable experience to have. No wonder your child wishes to get started on riding one as soon as possible. Generally, your kid can start indoor riding on an electric dirt bike at the age of three.

To consider the legal age of dirt bike riding, it depends on the state you’re living in. For example, there is no age limit for riding a dirt bike in countries like the UK and America.

On an important note, before you let your child ride a dirt bike off-road, it’s better for them to get the handle on a dirt bike first.

Coming up next, we’ll go through different aspects of dirt bike’s age limitations such as the age limit to ride off-road, choosing the right bike, different dirt bikes for different age groups, etc.

Let’s get right on it, shall we?

Age Limit To Riding A Dirt Bike Off-Road

Riding a dirt bike indoors and riding it off-road are two very different things. Although your child can start riding on a dirt bike indoors at the age of three. You must be patient and let them have a little bit of practice perfecting their bike’s handling and proper control.

In our opinion, you shouldn’t drive off-road until the age of twelve or more. So you can gain more experience and be better prepared to ride a dirt bike off-road. Although it’s true it can differ from person to person. To make sure of utmost safety you can choose a safe dirt bike for 13-year-olds off-road riding.

Choosing The Right Bike For Your Kid

Getting a new dirt bike is pretty exciting for your kid. Choosing the right one is crucial to growing as a young bike rider. You can’t just hand them a dirt bike that’s totally unfit for your child. You shouldn’t push your child to get started, remember every child takes their own time to get started on a task.

While browsing different dirt bikes for your kid, don’t compromise on safety measures. It means you need to choose a bike that is easy to handle and a bike’s throttle that helps them maintain a balanced course. Choose the bike’s height and weight according to your kid’s strength.

You can find two types of dirt bikes in the market one is two-stroke another is four-stroke. The two-stroke model is suited for the initial face and the four-stroke model is more suited for a bit advanced level dirt bike riders.

A Dirt Bike For Different Age Group

A dirt bike can differ with different age groups. We intend to cover every single one in the following segment.

Let’s begin:

AgeDirt Bike’s TypeGearsTraining Wheels
3 to 6 years oldElectric and gas 50cc maxGearsYes
7 to 9 years oldPatrol and Gas65 to 85 cc maxClutch & GearsUnlikely
10 to 11 years oldPatrol and Gas65 to 110 cc maxClutch & GearsNo
12 to 18 years oldPatrol and Gas125 to 450cc maxClutch & GearsNo

Three To Six Years Of Age Group

In this age group of 3 to 6, if the dirt bike is over 10mph, the bike might be more powerful than your kid can handle. So be very cautious of choosing a bike’s cc not more than 50, which gives a maximum of 3mph mileage.

At this time your kid needs proper guidance and remember to be patient with your child. Your proper guidance helps your child to develop their skills faster. At this age, your kid won’t have as much strength as later on, so choosing a lightweight dirt bike will help them to control the bike easily.

Seven To Nine Years Of Age Group

At this stage of life, generally, kids tend to be more used to riding a dirt bike and will desire a more powerful motorcycle. Although it completely depends on your kid’s dirt bike riding experience.

At this time of age, It’s very common to have a hunger for learning new tricks. It could either ride the bike at high speed or do different styles of stunts. A dirt bike of 65 to 85cc should be enough to meet their desired adrenaline.

Ten To Eleven Years Of Age Group

When your little one grows up, their needs grow up with them. That means they are now able to handle a much more powerful bike but not over 110 ccs. But don’t give them something they’re not ready to match up with.

Because as they grow up they would try to chew more than they can swallow. Don’t compromise their safety. Give them a dirt bike that comes with tiptop safety features. After that just relax and watch them acknowledge their skills.

Age Group Of Teenagers(12-18)

At this stage of life, your little one is growing up to be a man and will need a more sturdy and stable dirt bike. A dirt bike of 125cc should be enough to fulfill their needs. Although some kids can go as far as 450cc.

In your eyes, they’ll always be your little ones but you can’t ignore the fact that they grew up. Now they’re fully equipped to control more powerful dirt bikes and will want to sign up for sports competitions like Dirt Races.

Riding A Dirt Bike – Is It Safe For Your Kid?

Indeed dirt bike riding is a fun experience to have, but you should know it has its fair share of danger. That’s why many parents feel hesitant to let their children learn dirt bike riding.

We won’t sugarcoat it, accidents do happen while riding dirt bikes. If your child is not careful the accident could be fatal. So we suggest you provide your kid with proper protective gear that can keep your little one safe from any major injuries.

Dirt Bike Riding Gears for Kids

Dirt bike riding is an active sport that deals with close contact with the riders. Your little one is bound to fall several times while learning to ride on a dirt bike. No matter how hard you try it’s unavoidable.

The only action you can take is to provide your child with protective gear while they’re on the bike. Let’s look into those protective gears in the following part.

Helmet

The most important part of the human body is the brain. So while your youngster is growing up and developing in dirt bike riding the head needs absolute protection.

In such cases, a good quality helmet comes in handy. Remember not any helmet will do, you must choose one that fits perfectly and cover their full face.

Goggles

While riding a rider must have a clear vision of where they’re going. As you know in a dirt bike ride it’s common to deal with incoming specks of dirt and dust in the road.

To protect your child from the incoming debris they’ll need a pair of goggles. A good quality pair will help your kid to have complete focus on the road.

Gloves

A dirt bike is built for off-road riding and riding a bike off-road needs a firm grip. Otherwise, a rider might lose their balance and fall over.  In such a case, a quality pair of gloves come in handy.

So, good-quality gloves can help your kid to have a firm grip on the dirt bike. Not only it’ll help to have a firm grip but protect their hand from getting bruised.

Footwears

A pair of boots can help shield your little one’s foot while riding a dirt bike. So you can choose a pair of good-quality boots that fits your child perfectly. They’ll definitely help your kid to have better control on the bike.

Elbow, Knee Guard & Body Armor:

Providing your child with protective gears can ease your palpitations. So, get your kid a pair of elbow guards, knee guards, and good body armor to protect your child from every possible harm.

Last Words

As a parent, it’s customary to have a protective intention towards your little one. But it’s also true that you won’t always be around to protect your child. All you can do is prepare your kid to handle any situation right.

In the previous discussion so far, we tried to cover all the basic things you need to know to get started on teaching your kid to ride a dirt bike. Remember to provide him with every possible protective gear mentioned above to ensure your child’s utmost safety.

Kaulig Racing’s Landon Cassill Driving Crypto Mass Adoption with StormX

February 28, 2022 (Lexington, N.C.) – Kaulig Racing and StormX, the leading Crypto Cashback app and Chrome extension have joined forces for five NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) races starting with the Alsco Uniforms 300 this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The team announced earlier this year that as part of Voyager Digital’s primary partnership, it would be teaming up with the Crypto Cashback platform StormX to raise awareness and drive cryptocurrency inclusion for all. As part of this, Landon Cassill, who has been a long-time crypto advocate, will be racing his No.10 Chevrolet, fully branded with the StormX logo and colors.

NASCAR has seen a new wave of crypto partnerships established for the 2022 season, and this movement can be attributed to Cassill’s affinity and knowledge of crypto.

“My family and I make the majority of our purchases online, which is why the crypto cashback rewards with StormX are perfect for us.” said Cassill. “Travel is a huge chunk of my spending, as are hotels, so being able to receive cashback paid in crypto is a huge win, even more so when I factor in my membership bonuses.”

“Landon is no stranger to crypto, it was apparent from our first conversations that for him, it wasn’t about jumping on a bandwagon, but was about the potential it has to revolutionize the way we view personal finance,” said Matthew Chuen, CMO at StormX. “We are excited to be driving crypto inclusion with Landon and the team at Kaulig, and can’t wait to see him sporting the StormX logo on the track”

With two races in the 2022 NXS season under his belt, Cassill and the No.10 Kaulig Racing team will continue their west coast swing this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

“Landon (Cassill) is so knowledgeable about crypto and its platforms and the fact that he wants to share his expertise with NASCAR fans by bringing crypto-based partners on board at Kaulig Racing is very exciting”, said Kaulig Racing president, Chris Rice. “I for one am intrigued by the crypto industry and look forward to learning more.”

Prior to Cassill and StormX’s partnership at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 5th for the Alsco Uniforms 300, Cassill is also taking part in StormX’s first ever invitation-only poker tournament at PokerGO’s Studio in Las Vegas, on March 3rd. Landon will join an 81-person strong line-up battling crypto founders, NBA players and poker pros to win a share of the $405k minimum prize pool.

As part of the new partnership, StormX will be the primary partner of the No.10 Chevy at four additional events during the 2022 NXS season at Dover International Speedway, Portland International Raceway, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course, and Martinsville Speedway.

St. Petersburg win sets tone for McLaughlin, Penske in 2022 NTT IndyCar Series

Photo by Chris Jones - Scott McLaughlin celebrates his first career NTT IndyCar Series win for Team Penske.

A dominant win for Scott McLaughlin in the 2022 NTT IndyCar Series season opener at St. Petersburg could set the tone for how this season will go for the second-year Team Penske driver, if history is any indicator.

Starting from the pole, McLaughlin led 49 of 100 laps and took the checkered a half-second over defending series champion Alex Palou in his 18th series start after winning Rookie of the Year last season. The three-time Australian V8 Supercar champion won in his first pairing with Team Penske engineer Ben Bretzman, firing the first shot of the season on the road to the championship.

What stands out is McLaughlin’s season-opening win comes after three-straight seasons of champions who won the season-opening event of their championship year. Last season Palou scored his first career win in the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama on his way to winning twice more before clinching the season title. Scott Dixon won at Texas in 2020 on the way to clinching yet another title. In 2019, McLaughlin’s Team Penske teammate Josef Newgarden won at St. Peterburg on the way to his second series championship.

McLaughlin has the odds in his favor going into 2022. He’s got a championship legacy with Penske already. He’s with one of the top teams in the garage with Penske and Chevrolet. He’s got a season under his belt, a season that saw him claim top rookie honors and show some maturity behind the wheel near the end of the season, scoring two top-10s in the last four races while finishing 12th and 11th, respectively, in the last two races.

Primarily a road racer thanks to his years in the V8 Supercars, McLaughlin has posted strong runs on both road courses and ovals before Sunday’s win. His best rookie finish was second at Texas in the third race of the season, followed by an eighth during the second day of the Texas double-header. In the fifth race of the year he finished eighth again at the Indianapolis Grand Prix. A fourth at Gateway was followed by a ninth-place finish at the Grand Prix of Portland were all highlights of a season that would be considered as modest by most standards.

Seeing how dominant McLaughlin and his No. 3 team performed on Sunday shows that they’re past being modest and ready to show the aggression needed to perform like he did during his Supercar career. As the youngest and newest member of the Penske IndyCar group, McLaughlin knows he needs to perform to match the championship pedigree of his teammates, Newgarden and Will Power. If Sunday’s performance is any indicator in that case, he won’t have to wait long to deliver another Team Penske championship trophy.
