5 Must-Dos for the Perfect Travel Experience in New Jersey

Photo by Manisha Raghunath on Unsplash

Are you preparing for a trip to New Jersey? Besides Liberty State Park, Atlantic City, and other popular tourist attractions, you may be wondering if there are other ways to experience the state. You crave a more immersive experience, one that allows you to take on a more intimate lens of life in New Jersey.

You may have also heard that the traffic in New Jersey can be confusing to navigate. New Jerseyans take their roads seriously—they often refer to where they live relative to the nearest exit on the Turnpike—and nothing frustrates them more than being caught up by the unversed.

Instead of worrying about staying in the right lane and navigating jughandles, you can engage a company like Jersey Car and Limo to take get you around in style. Whether you are traveling with your partner, friends, or family, take a backseat and focus instead on how you can experience New Jersey in the most authentic way possible.

On top of your list of attractions to check out, here are five to-dos to add for a true travel experience in New Jersey:

Eat at a Jersey Diner

Jeet yet? In South Jersey, this expression refers to “did you eat yet?”. Food is culturally symbolic of any travel destination—even more so for New Jersey, which is known as the diner capital with the highest concentration of diners in America. Much like any other country or state, the best diner is contentious amongst its locals.

Nonetheless, eating at any diner will offer you an authentic Jersey experience as New Jerseyans love their diners. Some must-try dishes include a “Taylor Ham” (North Jersey) or “pork roll” (South Jersey) that is sliced grilled meat in a sandwich, disco fries (i.e., French fries topped with gravy and cheese), bagels, and pizzas.

Make a Wawa Run

A trip to the nearest convenience store in your state or country may be one of the small joys you enjoy in your daily life. Why would it be different while traveling? Take a trip down to New Jersey’s local convenience store and gas station Wawa. It is the state’s beloved all-in-one spot where New Jerseyans pick up freshly brewed coffee and meals and fill up their gas tanks. Did you know that it is illegal for New Jerseyans to fill their gas tanks themselves?

Stop by a Wawa any time of the day as the locals do. Wawa has a wide range of beans and condiments for an all-day perk-me-up. Alas, don’t miss out on their signature built-to-order hoagie – an Italian sandwich filled with meats, cheese, and other toppings.

Watch a Sports Match

There’s no better way to experience the vibrant sports culture of New Jersey than by catching a live match. As of September 2021, New Jersey became the first US state to hit the $1 billion mark in sports betting with a total of $1.01 billion.

New Jersey is home to major league ice hockey and soccer. Some famous teams include ice hockey New Jersey Devils, who play their home games at the Prudential Center in Newark, and soccer juggernauts New York Jets and New York Giants at the Met Life Stadium. Revel in the excitement of high-spirited matches amongst the locals, which will make for an unforgettable highlight of your trip.

Pick Jersey-Grown Produce

New Jersey is commonly referred to as the Garden State, producing many of its produce. The most popular fruits and vegetables include tomatoes, corn, blueberries, and strawberries. Head to a u-pick farm during the spring and summer, and get your hands on the freshest produce. New Jerseyans enjoy picking their produce as a family activity, making for a suitable family-friendly activity if you are traveling with children.

The type of produce you can get depends on the harvest season and farms, so be sure to check out what’s in season. You may also need to make bookings in advance. Otherwise, check out the local farms and pop-up stands where you can purchase the produce directly. Besides eating at the diners, whipping up a meal with your hand-picked produce can also be a fun and meaningful way to spend your time in New Jersey. Even a simple dessert of yogurt and berries counts!

Take a Hike

New Jersey is an urbanized metropolis known for its historical sites and beaches; what’s less known is the scenic nature landscape it has to offer. Spend some time in New Jersey’s nature to immerse in its natural beauty.

Locals themselves often take to the outdoors during their leisure – time in nature can help relieve stress – and it’s free. Consider Buttermilk Falls if you are up North. As part of the Delaware Water Gap, it is the highest waterfall in the state. You can easily access the Falls via car by driving to the parking lot opposite it. Be rest assured that the stairs leading up to the Falls have handrails for support. Even if you don’t fancy a hike, the view from the parking lot is still worth catching.

What Happens When You Damage A Luxury Rental Car?

Miami, Florida, USA-February 19, 2016: Supercar Lamborghini Aventador orange color parked next to Ocean drive at South bech at Miami, Florida. Lamborghini is famous expensive automobile brand car

Luxury car rentals have been the go-to option for people who want to experience lavish lifestyles for a moment. Generally, these sleek, high-end cars are rented for promenades, weddings, and similar celebrations. Beyond brand and reputation, customers choose luxury cars for their convenience and premium features, which make the ride more enjoyable.

But before you rent an exotic car, you may want to know about your responsibilities and accountabilities. This way, you know what you may need to take care of and what to do in case of emergencies and unforeseen circumstances that can cause damage to the car. To help you, here’s a guide you may follow.

  1. Contact The Luxury Car Rental Company And Return The Car

Suppose you damage a rented Bentley or Rolls-Royce from SD Exotic Rentals or other luxury car rental provider. In that case, you need to bring the car back to the company as soon as possible. You may need to declare the damages caused by the accident as well.

If you fail to return the car, you may need to seek assistance or contact the authorities. If you forgot to save the rental company’s contact details, try locating them on the dashboard or in the keys. Then they could assess the damage to determine the costs and repairs required.

It’s always good to look for Lamborghini rental options that allow some flexibility in return times or provide roadside assistance for unexpected situations. Choosing providers with clear policies and responsive customer support can make resolving delays or mechanical issues far less stressful.

  1. Damage Assessment

You could manually check the dents, creases, and other car issues when dealing with the damage. In some cases, damage may worsen during transport, so you may need to check the smallest details carefully. This is why you need to take photos immediately after the accident to ensure proper documentation.

In many cases, rented cars are inspected upon return. The rental company would assess the tires, windshield, fenders, seats, and car exterior parts. If damages are found, the company generally categorizes the type of damage to determine the amount to pay for it.

In checking the car for damage, the following are generally observed:

  • The tires must not have worn 1/16th of their tread
  • Scratches and dents may be paid for depending on length and depth
  • If dents exceed 1 inch, you may pay for repainting or dent removal process
  • For severe damages, the company uses existing running prices of the replacement and exterior parts to be restored
  • If the car is beyond repair, full coverage or payment will be asked
  • In replacing parts, follow the rental company’s prescription
  1. Settlement Of Payments And Repairs

Depending on the terms and conditions of the car rental company, you have the option to replace worn tires or answer for necessary minor repairs. This way, you could save money. But for far more severe damages and total vehicular overhaul, you may need a seasoned auto mechanic for the job.

  1. Communicate With All Parties

You may need to coordinate with the authorities and the car rental company to speed up the process. Regular correspondence could ease up the process and retrieval of evidence. If another car is involved, you need to keep the driver or owner’s complete details so you can still talk and settle claims after the accident.

If it’s a single-car collision or no other vehicles are involved, you may just wait for everything to be processed and all the damages to be assessed. Once you know the exact costs, you could tap your insurance company or pay for the expenses on your own.

Final Thoughts

Who wouldn’t want to drive an Audi, Ferrari, or any British-made exotic car? But any renter should keep in mind to drive safely at all times to avoid accidents. Apart from this article, you may also keep in mind the terms and conditions set by the car rental company. Try your best to be familiar with them and ride safely as always.

To avoid damages, you must apply your defensive driving skills if you’re the one maneuvering the car. If you paid for a chauffeur, you might need to ensure that they drive safely and efficiently.

Your personal insurance company could help you deal with the financial concerns of the accident and damaged car. However, the costs could be more expensive than your typical car rental damage due to the prices of the parts.

Also, you have to be mindful that your insurance provider may or may not cover the damage at all since an accident in a car rental may not be within their scope of protection. Above all, start with retuning the car first, and everything will follow.

Apps, Automotives, and You

Photo by Rami Al-zayat on Unsplash

In today’s day and age, the phones in your pockets have become just as integral and intertwined with your daily life as your vehicles. With the various app stores and markets expanding, so too does the interconnectivity between automobiles and mobile phones, and finding what’s best for you could be like finding a needle in a haystack.  Whether it’s between simply optimizing your route to work or making money with auto-sports, there is an app out there, paid or free, that can and will improve your everyday life.

Navigational Apps

When it comes to road trips, simple directions, or even optimizing your daily routes to work, look no further than navigational apps. Almost every phone nowadays has a built-in GPS app, but they lack additional features that many more in-depth apps out there have as mainstays. One of the features of non-default apps includes live traffic monitoring. These apps will take in user-inputted data, and general traveling speeds to determine the amount of traffic on a given road and recalculate accordingly, in turn, saving you time on basically any route. Another big feature is offline GPS. Typically, network connectivity isn’t a problem most people would run into, but if you find yourself in another country, or in bad weather, losing your directions could be detrimental. Certain navigational apps will give the ability to prepare offline GPS routes as a safe backup, just in case.

Betting Apps

Saving time with travel can instead be used to make money. Individuals who maintain a fine balance of opportunity costs with potential gains often find financial success. Fortunately, in the sea of auto apps, the opportunity for some extra cash comes in the form of 20bet. 20Bet, simply put, is a mobile app for iOS that is safe, secure, and efficient for any player looking to make money via bets. Within the convenience of your phone, you can enjoy a rock-solid experience from betting or gambling in your free time. Using your expansive knowledge of Nascar or Formula 1, for example, you can apply that knowledge to make quick cash on the fly as easily and fast as ever.

Maintenance Apps

Coinciding with making money with bets, you can also save money with maintenance apps. The average annual cost of car ownership is nothing to simply write off and getting any sort of edge you can in diagnosing and repairing your vehicle is well worth the time. Maintenance apps include the ability to scan engine codes, connect with your car’s Bluetooth and electrics, and even search symptoms based on your car’s make and model to diagnose car-related problems. Unfortunately, these apps can’t physically repair your car but can offer the steps and procedures to either let you solve it on your own, or let you know the best information to give to your mechanic to ease the overall process of repair.

Auto-Trading Apps

Another unique form of vehicle-centric apps is the apps that allow you to buy, sell, swap, or trade vehicles. These types of apps allow features such as comparing costs between dealerships for any given model or make of vehicle, as well as calculators to help calculate the monthly costs of loans and payments. These apps also extend to trading and swapping, either through dealerships or through vouch-based secondhand sellers. Reminder, if you are dealing with secondhand owners be sure to build trust between yourself and the seller, and to make sure the product listed is exactly what the seller has described in the ad. Typically the apps will have rating systems, and other protections in place to avoid the rare case of scams that take place. Equally, these apps are also good for getting a vehicle you wish to sell out there for as many eyes to see as possible, thus making the process of selling much quicker for yourself, and potential buyers.

Quality of Life Apps

Lastly, there exist many ‘miscellaneous’ apps that are difficult to fit into a category but provide conveniences related to you and your vehicle. One of these conveniences includes on-the-fly parking. These apps specialize in finding the best place to park given the circumstances provided. Whether you’re in an unfamiliar town or a big event is happening locally, these types of apps can and will find parking locations based on availability and pricing. Speaking on pricing, another quality-of-life app relates to comparing gas prices. At a glance, you can contrast and compare the price of gasoline of all nearby stations and find the most cost-effective option. The savings here can be minimal at first, but over months and years, the amount of savings will be substantial.

Conclusion

Bridging the line between your vehicles and mobile phones has never been easier. Nowadays, most cars already offer wireless connectivity between the two, but with the help of apps, you can take it to the next level. As mentioned before finding the best app for you can be difficult but hopefully, after reading this, you can easily identify what’s best for you and apply that knowledge. With innovation comes opportunity, and using all resources available to you can only lead to a better life.

F1 Betting Tips for Thrill Seekers

The F1 is one of the most exciting sporting events in the world, watched by millions of petrol heads of motor racing fans. As far as motorsports go, it’s widely considered the pinnacle, and it’s hotly contested each year as the best drivers in the world go head-to-head. For a lot of fans, simply watching the races provides enough entertainment, but if you’re looking for an even greater thrill, you can bet on the events.

Betting on F1 is simple enough, as there are plenty of betting sites available that offer odds for the races. Most betting sites provide different markets that allow you to bet on how wins the race, as well as the podium drivers and top ten finishes. You can also place championship bets, predicting which driver you think will win the championship, as well as betting on the constructor’s champion for the season.

Before you get started on betting, it’s important to remember to bet responsibly. Never bet more than you can afford to lose, and always remember that betting should be about fun rather than making money. Here are some more F1 betting tips for you to help you get an edge.

Finding Good Betting Sites

Betting sites, also known as online sportsbooks, offer the easiest way to place your bets. There are lots of sites out there, and they allow you to sign up, make a deposit, and place bets on whichever sport you like, including the F1. Before you make a choice, you’ll want to look at some sportsbook reviews so you can be sure you’re signing up to a reputable site. Reviews such as the Parimatch casino review provide insight into what the sportsbook has to offer and whether it’s worth signing up to. A good review will explain the markets available as well as betting features and bonuses.

Do Your Research

The key to having fun with F1 betting is to properly research the event before placing the bet. As with any motorsport, there are certain aspects that can be predicted. Some drivers will always have an advantage in certain conditions or on certain tracks. There are also favourites and underdogs for each race, with different odds depending on the probability. Your research should cover everything, from past performances to current form, and you shouldn’t overlook anything that might affect the result of the race. By researching, not only will you have a better chance of placing winning bets, but you’ll also have more fun.

Make the Most of Bonuses

Most sportsbooks will offer free bets and other promotions, especially to brand new players. If it’s your first time signing up, you should be able to claim a free bet that you can use on the F1. Free bets are usually very simple to use, allowing you to bet without risk. Free bets do come with terms and conditions, so make sure you read and understand these before using them. However, when used correctly, they can be an excellent way of getting more value out of your bets.

Pick Your Races

While betting is a lot of fun, you don’t need to bet on every race. There are twenty-three races during the F1 season, which gives you plenty of chances to have some fun with betting. It’s tempting to place bets on every event, but doing this can just mean you lose more money in the long run. If you want to be successful, you should do careful research and choose your bets very carefully. Try to stick to bets that offer good value, where the odds don’t line up with what you feel is the true probability.

Jacob Borst emerges on top of competitive rookie class to capture 2021 South Boston Speedway Late Model Rookie of Year crown

SOUTH BOSTON, Va. (Nov. 22, 2021) — In the most competitive rookie class to compete in the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series Late Model Stock Car Division at South Boston Speedway in many seasons teenager Jacob Borst emerged at the top of the class and captured the division’s 2021 Rookie of the Year Award.

The young Elon, North Carolina resident scored his first career win in the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series Late Model Stock Car Division, won two pole awards for the fastest qualifier, logged a dozen Top-Five finishes, finished in the Top 10 in 14 of his 17 starts and finished as the runner-up to track champion Peyton Sellers in the final division point standings.

He did all of that while competing against fellow rookies Landon Pembelton, who also captured a win and logged eight Top-Five finishes in 12 starts, Camden Gullie and Carter Langley. Gullie finished third in the final division point standings, Pembelton finished fifth despite not competing at South Boston Speedway for the full season and Langley finished sixth in the final division tally.

“It’s a big honor, and it feels really good to be the top rookie,” Borst said. “Competing at one of the most well-known short tracks on the east coast and being a rookie in Late Model, it’s a good reward. Winning Rookie of the Year is something everybody wants to do as a rookie, and you get only one chance to do it.”

Borst had no idea when the 2021 season began that he would emerge as South Boston Speedway’s top rookie.

“Coming in, I knew it would be hard to do it, but I also knew we could do it,” Borst remarked. “I knew there would be a bunch of good rookies here. We had Carter Langley, Camden Gullie, and Landon Pembelton and myself competing for it. All of us are coming up at about the same time, and we’re all just as good as each other and we all have very good equipment. It’s all been about where we could put ourselves, track position and luck.”

Heading into the 2021 season Borst knew he and his team could do well but didn’t think his results would be as good as they were.

“Our goal this year was to get a couple of top-three finishes and keep the car in one piece,” Borst explained. “To come into South Boston Speedway and do this well we achieved over our goal. We’re all really proud of that and are looking forward to next season.”

Borst moved up to the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series Late Model Stock Car Division after a successful 2019 season in which he finished third in the South Boston Speedway Limited Sportsman Division points chase with three wins and five poles. With most tracks, including South Boston Speedway, being idle in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Borst got his real start in Late Model Stock Car Division competition in 2021.

While Borst had a successful rookie season, the 2021 season was a big learning season.

“In 2019 I was in the Limited Sportsman Division and was racing against Danny Willis Jr. for wins and poles,” Borst pointed out. “I learned a lot from racing him that season, and that has helped me a lot this year. I came into this season with a little bit of experience, but you can learn a lot in just one race racing against Peyton Sellers and all the experienced guys in the Late Model Stock Car Division. They will do something to you, and you learn how to do that, and you use that. You learn how to get around here a lot better, learn all the little tricks. You learn a lot and you hope one day you will be as good as they are.”

Winning races is a goal of every driver. Borst was fortunate enough to earn a victory in his first season of competition in the highly competitive NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series Late Model Stock Car Division.

“We were looking to win, but we knew it would be really hard,” Borst said. “We didn’t know if we would be able to get a win this season. The thing is every single driver is so good, all of our equipment is about the same and it’s about whoever has the best luck.

“Luck went our way,” he added. “When we won that one race everything played out in our favor. That win gave us a bunch of confidence that we could win a race going into the rest of the season.”

One of the things that makes Borst’s accomplishments during the 2021 season special is that his small family-owned race team grew in confidence and ability with each race.

“We’re just a small team,” Borst noted. “We work in our back yard. We’re fortunate to be able to come out here and have fun. We worked really hard and tried our best. We gained more ground each race, learned more, and gained more experience with the car. As the year went on, we got better and better. It’s a lot more rewarding when you win, and you have a small team compared to some of the other guys.”

For people looking for the perfect Christmas gift for their favorite racing fan South Boston Speedway has gift certificates on sale for all of its regular 2022 NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series events. The gift certificates are priced at $10 each.

Gift certificates do not include the track’s special events – the SMART Modified Tour event, the new event for winged 410-sprint cars, the 200-lap Late Model Stock Car Division event in July and the CARS Tour event in October – and cannot be used for those events.

Gift certificates are on sale online on the South Boston Speedway website www.southbostonspeedway.com. They may also be ordered by phone by calling the speedway office at 434-572-4947 during normal office hours.

With the speedway’s move to an online ticketing system this year persons ordering gift certificates will be mailed a paper certificate to use as a gift. In January, the speedway will send tickets to be used in place of the gift certificates to scan in at the gate.

The latest news and information about South Boston Speedway can be found on the South Boston Speedway website and through the speedway’s social media channels.

Motul Confirmed Lubricant Partner for AMG Performance Team, Craft-Bamboo Racing at 68th Macau Grand Prix

– Motul 300V to be used as engine oil for #95 Mercedes-AMG GT3
– Darryl O’Young to race for Craft-Bamboo Racing in the 68th Macau Grand Prix

Singapore, Nov 18, 2021 – (ACN Newswire) – One of the most anticipated events of the year on the Asian motorsport calendar is all set to kick-off this weekend in Macau. The 68th Macau Grand Prix will be held from 19 to 21 November 2021 at the world renowned Guia Circuit. Motul will be the official Lubricant Partner of Craft-Bamboo Racing for the Macau GT Cup. The Hong Kong team will have multiple-time winner Darryl O’Young at the helms of their #95 Mercedes-AMG GT3 as he prepares to take part in his 17th Macau Grand Prix.

Craft-Bamboo Racing is an official Performance Team of Mercedes-AMG. Team Director and Race Driver Darryl O’Young is a seasoned and experienced racer at the Guia Circuit, having taken the top step of the podium here no less than 5 times. O’Young is expecting a challenging race, having last raced at the 2020 Macau Grand Prix, and coming straight out of quarantine for this year’s event. Although it will be difficult, he will be relying on his extensive knowledge of the track to have a good race weekend despite the limited time on track.

Fortunately, he will have an extra boost of power all thanks to his Mercedes-AMG GT3 being filled with the Motul 300V. The car will use the Motul 300V Competition 0W-40 for its AMG 6.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine and Motul Gear Competition 75W-140 for the 6-speed racing transmission. These products will play an important role to keep O’Young’s car performing at the optimum level over this tightly packed race weekend. Being the Lubricant Sponsor, O’Young’s car will also feature the iconic Motul red as it zips through the super narrow and challenging Guia Circuit.

Motul has always been committed to bringing its customers the highest quality of products. One of the ways they achieve this is by working closely with racing teams and drivers to understand how their products perform under extreme stress and duress experienced over the course of such races. The products are analyzed and tested in Motul laboratories after the race to understand accurately the aftermath of the performance. These learnings are then translated into improvements for everyday customers using Motul products for their cars. Motul lubricants have proven excellent compatibility with the AMG engines to not only provide superior performance but also improved reliability.

When it comes to racing in Asia, there are few events that boast the level of excitement and passion that the Macau Grand Prix brings every year. The 2021 Macau GT Cup will feature 19 of the best racing talents from Hong Kong, China and Macau racing in GT3 cars from 6 different manufacturers and O’Young will be hoping to put his Motul-powered Mercedes-AMG at the front of the grid. “I’m really excited to have Motul as our lubricant partner for the Macau Grand Prix. Firstly, it’s great to have such an iconic brand on our car design, but most importantly is to have the extra performance and reliability that Motul is known to deliver with their 300V oil product in our Mercedes-AMG GT3 V8 engine. Travis Pastrana Scores Second Straight Nitro Rallycross Win in SoCal Finale

PASTRANA LEADS SUBARU SWEEP, WITH SCOTT SPEED AND

ANDREAS BAKKERUD ROUNDING OUT SUPERCAR PODIUM

Nitro RX Championship to Be Decided at North Florida’s The FIRM

December 4-5; Tickets Available Here

(Los Angeles – November 21, 2021) Travis Pastrana (USA)repeated his Supercar victory at the Southern California stop of Nitro Rallycross’ 2021 championship series. After raising the first-place trophy in Phoenix last weekend, Pastrana triumphed again at Glen Helen Raceway on Sunday, leading a podium sweep with his Subaru Motorsports USA teammates Scott Speed (USA) and Andreas Bakkerud (NOR). Pastrana’s win shakes up the Nitro RX Championship standings, with Speed and Timmy Hansen (SWE) now aiming to catch him with only one more round left.

Pastrana and Speed wasted no time getting down to business, winning their first heats of the day to secure their slots in the final. Bakkerud then punched his ticket in the semifinal round, beating out Tanner Foust (USA) and Kevin Hansen (SWE) to advance.

In the final, Pastrana quickly shot off the starting line to take the inside line and grab the lead. Pastrana, Speed and Bakkerud then held off strong challenges from Kevin Eriksson (SWE), Timmy Hansen and Steve Arpin (CAN) to score the Subaru podium lockout.

For Pastrana, not only was taking the win at Glen Helen special given his motocross history, it was also crucial for his Nitro RX Championship hopes. “This was a must-win for me. With so much tarmac in the last round, I had to win here. I’m just so proud of the team.” He also noted, “This may have been a pretty simple track for what we have planned for Nitro Rallycross, but it made for some awesome racing. I’m just so pumped to have won this!”

After high-fiving the throng of fans that had gathered at the track fence to celebrate his victory, Pastrana noted the bigger goals he has for Nitro RX. “At the end of the day, I want the best racing, I want the best drivers and I want the most competitive field. I appreciate all of the drivers for joining this. Aside from wanting to win, everyone’s been having a lot of fun and that has been awesome.”

Toni Bou Wins 30th Consecutive World Championship Title

15 consecutive titles in both FIM Trial World Championship and X Trial World Championship

TOKYO, Nov 22, 2021 – (ACN Newswire) – Repsol Honda Team rider Toni Bou has won his 15th consecutive FIM(1) X-Trial World Championship at the final round in Barcelona on November 21. With his 15 consecutive victories in the FIM Trial World Championship, Toni Bou has won an unprecedented 30 consecutive world championship titles.

Toni Bou is a HRC (Honda Racing Corporation) contract rider racing for Honda’s factory team(2) Repsol Honda Team. This season’s X-Trial was contested over two rounds, the schedule being shortened due to the coronavirus pandemic. After winning the opening round in Andorra on November 7, Bou secured his 15th X-Trial World Championship title by winning the Barcelona round as well.

The non-speed Trial competition is contested by riders overcoming obstacles to reach the goal on their bike, without touching the ground with their feet as much as possible. The two Trial world championships are X-Trial (or indoor trials), contested over a man-made course set up in a stadium with a glamorous atmosphere, and Trials, a dynamic category held between May and September at outdoor venues taking advantage of natural terrain.

Toni Bou | Repsol Honda Team
“Luckily, the mistake in section one just after the start made me get into the trial. From then on, I knew that I had a tough heat with Adam in the same group and I had to do really well. It was another great night at the Palau Sant Jordi. I am very happy and grateful to everyone who has helped me. We’ve worked very hard, we’ve done things very well and that’s the only way to do it. We have long since surpassed our limits, we are living a dream and to have reached 30 consecutive titles is a great achievement. I also want to congratulate Gabriel Marcelli, because he deserved his second place. He works very hard and is a strong rider. He has been doing really well for quite a while now.”

Five Key Tips for Motorbike Care

Photo by Zane Lee on Unsplash

Taking good care of your motorcycle is crucial to keep it in perfect condition, so you can enjoy riding it for many years. What’s more, a well-maintained bike is much safer than a neglected one. All it takes is learning and getting to know your bike so you can be able to do some DIY maintenance that could keep you safe and save you lots of money, not to mention the satisfying feeling once you take good care of your motorcycle. When it comes to learning more about your bike, the best thing you could do is read the manual that came with the bike, as it usually includes a chart that lists all the maintenance tasks and all the details about your motorcycle. There are various motorcycle types — from racing motorcycles to scooters, but the main principle for maintenance is the same for all the bikes. Although motorcycle maintenance may seem challenging to rookies, it’s certainly not rocket science and anyone can learn how to do it. So today, we got the X key tips for motorbike care, for all the motorcycle enthusiasts out there.

Check Tire Pressure

Checking your tire pressure is imperative to ensure you’re riding safely. Pressure needs to be balanced — not too low or too high, as it may affect the bike’s handling. Ordinarily, you’ll have to check the recommended air pressure (PSI) on your tire or bike’s manual, then remove the cap located on the inside of the wheel, use a tire pressure gauge to measure your levels, and inflate/deflate according to recommended PSI level.

Replace the Oil

Aiming to keep the engine running smoothly, you’ll have to change the oil for every several thousand miles. Of course, the mileage differs on each engine, so check your manual to see how often you have to change the oil in your case. Begin riding your bike for about five minutes to warm it up a bit, then turn off the engine and remove the drain and oil fill plugs so that oil can escape into the drain container. Next, remove the oil filter (which is a very untidy process, so be prepared for that). Once the oil is fully removed, place a new oil filter, replace all the parts that you removed and refill the oil with the help of a funnel and with a sufficient amount and type of oil, specified in your manual. After that, replace the oil fill cap and you’re good to go.

Replace the Air Filter

An air filter is a very important part of every bike since it keeps all the debris and dirt out of the engine. However, once the filter is clogged and dirty, the engine’s performance will decrease and it needs to be replaced. Although this process isn’t difficult, sometimes it can be time-consuming since you may need to remove the gas tank and other parts to get to the air filter. Once you do, take it out and replace it with a new one, and put everything back in its place.

Replace the Coolant

A coolant is a liquid that prevents your engine from overheating, freezing, and corrosion. Just like other liquids, it needs to be changed from time to time. To begin, remove any necessary parts to gain access to the coolant drain bolt. Place a drain container under the engine and remove the bolt and radiator cap. After the coolant is removed, reinstall the bolt, cap, and other parts that you potentially removed and start the engine to warm it up a bit. After a few minutes, turn it off and wait for an engine to cool down. Once it does, remove the radiator cap and inspect the coolant level. Keep in mind that it needs to be filled with an amount specified in the bike’s manual.

Keep the Chain Clean

The majority of the chains of today are O-ring, which makes the cleaning process much simpler than older, unsealed chains. Once your chain gets dirty or you get to the mileage after which your manual recommends cleaning it, you’ll need to clean your chain. Start by raising the rear wheel of your bike and putting the transmission in neutral, so that chain can move unobstructed. Use a fiber brush to remove grime and rubble from the chain. Then add some specialized chain lube as you rotate the back wheel so it spreads evenly. Let it sit for a few minutes then wipe off any excess lube with a paper towel.
