Andy’s Frozen Custard Announces Title Sponsorship of NASCAR Xfinity Race

The ‘Andy’s Frozen Custard 335’ to Take Place at Texas Motor Speedway October 16, 2021

Springfield, MO – June 12, 2021 –Race fans, raise your spoons! In celebration of Andy’s Frozen Custard’s 35th anniversary and as part of a multi-year agreement with Texas Motor Speedway, Andy’s™, the award-winning frozen custard and treat shop, today announced the title sponsorship of the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) race on October 16 at Texas Motor Speedway. The “Andy’s Frozen Custard 335,” is the first ever entitlement of a sanctioned NASCAR race for the 35-year-old company.

Andy’s will also be partnering with Kaulig Racing for the “Andy’s 335.” A. J. Allmendinger, with nine top-five finishes in the NASCAR Xfinity Series this year and a 2021 playoff driver, who just earned his second win of the 2021 NXS season and has already locked himself into the playoffs, will be driving the No. 16 Andy’s Frozen Custard Chevy in the race.

“This is such an exciting time for Andy’s, with this motorsport’s partnership launching in our 35th anniversary year,” Andy Kuntz, president of Andy’s Frozen Custard said. “Our family has a long history of being motorsports fans and has sponsored regional and developing drivers. We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate our anniversary than to become part of the racing community in this way.”

The partnership kicked off last month as Andy’s Frozen Custard became the Official Treat of Texas Motor Speedway, offering “Lone Star State” race fans the chance to enjoy Made Fresh Hourly™ frozen custard treats on-site through branded kiosks, treat trucks and to suite holders. Fans of Andy’s across the country and racing alike have enjoyed the new “Three-Crete Concrete” frozen custard treat, created by Austin Dillon himself featuring his favorite toppings of fresh bananas, cookie dough and creamy peanut butter. Andy’s sponsored the Austin-Dillon-driven No. 3 Chevrolet in this year’s NASCAR Cup Series, which debuted June 13 at the NASCAR All-Star Race at Texas Motor Speedway.

The Andy’s Frozen Custard 335 will take place at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday, October 16, and will be broadcast live nationally on NBC.

The June 13 NASCAR All-Star Open (5 p.m. CT on FS1, MRN and 95.9 The Ranch) is followed by the $1 million NASCAR All-Star Race (7 p.m. CT on FS1, MRN and 95.9 The Ranch).

After having a couple of weeks off, the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series got their season back on track Friday night at New England Dragway for the annual New England Nationals.

The Camping World Drag Series took to the track late Friday night for the first session of qualifying and a rarity of Friday night qualifying.

The teams were eager to rocket their cars down the track to post a fast time in hopes of being the provisional No. 1 qualifier. However, many cars had traction trouble in the first round as there was multiple tire smoke from various drivers resulting in slower mph speed and slower times.

Funny Car

A few lucky drivers in the Funny Car division were able to elapse the 300 mph mark, including Blake Alexander, J.R. Todd and the current provisional No. 1 qualifier, Matt Hagan for Don Schumacher Racing. Hagan went 3.891 seconds and 331.53 mph in the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye machine. Should Hagan hang on through the remaining two rounds, the qualifying run will give him his first No. 1 qualifier of the 2021 season. Hagan will receive three bonus points for his efforts.

“New England Dragway has shown us a lot of love these past couple of years. When you put Don Schumacher Racing Performance and Dickie Venables together, that’s the kind of results you can expect,” said Hagan, a 36-time Funny Car winner who is hopeful history will repeat itself on Sunday, and he’ll be able to break through for his first victory of the season.

“We’ve got great parts, great people, and I’m glad we laid down a great run tonight. A lot of people had trouble making it down the track with it being so cold. There was a lot of shaking, a lot of smoking, a lot of stuff going on, but Dickie had a really good combo for that. It just builds a lot of confidence going into tomorrow. Hats off to my guys for putting a great race car underneath me.”

In one of the more intriguing runs of the night, Cruz Pedregon was up against Blake Alexander in his initial qualifying run. Unfortunately for the two-time champion, the Pedregon Snap-On machine ending up breaking. The result put him last on the speed charts (13th) and missing the show. Fortunately for Pedregon, he will have two more chances Saturday to improve his qualifying run.

Top Fuel

Steve Torrence and the CAPCO crew, who have three wins in five races and one runner-up finish, were looking to continue their 2021 season dominance . Despite Torrence dominating most of the season so far, it was the other Torrence (Billy, Steve’s father) who posted a quick time of 3.744 seconds and 324.98 mph to put him to the top of the board for Round 1. Billy Torrence will be seeking his first No. 1 qualifier of the season since Atlanta earlier in the season.

Pro Stock

For the Pro Stock category, up and comer Mason McGaha put in a decent run of 6.538 and 210.28 mph to climb to the top of the charts. Currently, McGaha has not had any No. 1 qualifiers in his young 13-race career so far. This weekend would be his first if McGaha stays on top of the board.

Official Round 1 Qualifying Results are below. Please note, Pro Stock Motorcycles are not scheduled to compete this weekend as this race is not on their schedule.

Power Pushes through Heat, Traffic
To Top Detroit Practice

DETROIT (Friday, June 11, 2021) – A driver and a team searching for a hot streak found the top of the practice time sheet on a sizzling day in Detroit.

Will Power and Team Penske – both winless in this NTT INDYCAR SERIES season – burnished their credentials as threats to win the NTT P1 Award and the race Saturday in Race 1 of the Chevrolet Dual in Detroit by leading practice Friday afternoon on the Belle Isle temporary street circuit. 2014 series champion Power saved his best lap for last, turning the quick time of 1 minute, 17.2768 seconds in the No. 12 Verizon 5G Team Penske Chevrolet.

Power and the other 24 drivers in the field faced tough conditions, with the bumpy nature of the 14-turn, 2.35-mile circuit compounded by track temperatures tickling 120 degrees, with air temperatures in the mid-80s. Heavy traffic around the circuit also made it tough to assemble a clean lap.

“Yeah, it’s very hot out there,” Power said. “It’s just a physical track. You kind of hold your breath because there’s just so much commitment. I feel all right. The car is in a really good window. I was happy to get a lap in there at the end, with some guys backing up and such.”

The field of 25 drivers will return to the track for NTT P1 Award qualifying for Race 1 at 11 a.m. (ET) Saturday, with live coverage on NBCSN, Peacock and the INDYCAR Radio Network. The 70-lap Race 1 of the weekend doubleheader then follows at 2 p.m., with live broadcasts by NBC and the INDYCAR Radio Network.

Four-time INDYCAR SERIES champion Sebastien Bourdais rebounded from a miserable May by ending up second in practice with a top lap of 1:17.4291 in the No. 14 ROKiT/AJ Foyt Racing Chevrolet. Bourdais was taken out in crashes not of his doing at both races in the doubleheader in early May at Texas Motor Speedway, and he finished 19th in the GMR Grand Prix on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course and 26th in the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge.

Title contender Pato O’Ward completed a sweep of the top three positions in practice for Chevrolet on home turf. O’Ward’s best lap was 1:17.5143 in the No. 5 Arrow McLaren SP Chevrolet.

Reigning and six-time series champion Scott Dixon was the fastest Honda-powered driver, fourth overall at 1:17.6178 in the No. 9 PNC Bank Grow Up Great Honda. 2016 Indianapolis 500 winner Alexander Rossi, another driver looking for a strong second half of the season, rounded out the top five at 1:17.6587 in the No. 27 AutoNation/NAPA AUTO PARTS Honda.

Championship leader Alex Palou was 15th at 1:18.7996 in the No. 10 NTT DATA Chip Ganassi Racing Honda. He is racing at Detroit for the first time since the event wasn’t held last season during his rookie year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Palou will face an additional challenge Saturday by starting six grid spots behind his qualifying position due to an unauthorized engine change before the Indianapolis 500.

The challenging Belle Isle circuit snared two rookies early. Jimmie Johnson and Scott McLaughlin triggered a red flag 14 minutes into the session in separate incidents seconds apart.

Seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Johnson spun exiting Turn 3 in his No. 48 Carvana Chip Ganassi Racing Honda but made no contact and continued to the pits, where he served a five-minute penalty for causing a red-flag period.

Three-time Australian Supercars champion McLaughlin wasn’t as fortunate as Johnson. His No. 3 PPG Team Penske Chevrolet pushed wide in Turn 5 and hit the tire barrier, incurring front wing and suspension damage. McLaughlin was unable to return, losing his only session before qualifying on his first trip to this track.

CORVETTE RACING AT DETROIT: Tandy Takes Pole in C8.R Showdown

DETROIT (June 11, 2021) – Nick Tandy set the fastest time for Corvette Racing ahead of the Chevrolet Sport Car Classic on Friday, just beating out Jordan Taylor in a battle of mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette C8.Rs.

Tandy set a time of 1:27.283 (96.926 mph) in the No. 4 Mobil 1/SiriusXM Corvette C8.R to edge out his No. 3 teammate by 0.323 seconds. Saturday’s 100-minute race in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship is the first time Corvette Racing has competed on Belle Isle since 2008.

Corvette Racing’s home event became possible with the move of the 24 Hours of Le Mans from mid-June to mid-August. It’s the team’s first IMSA race since the Mobil 1Twelve Hours of Sebring in March and is a nice warmup ahead of a busy stretch of four races in six weeks, plus the return to Le Mans.

Belle Isle also provides an opportunity for the hundreds of Chevrolet team members – both within the Corvette team and others outside the main program, all of whom contributed in some way to the C8.R and the road-going Corvette Stingray – to see Corvette Racing in-person for the only time in 2021. The reveal of the C8.R nearly 18 months ago was culmination of almost six years of work between engineers and designers from the Corvette production group and Corvette Racing.

What resulted was a racecar that won six times during its 2020 debut season and swept the full-season IMSA GTLM championships for Manufacturers, Drivers and Teams. The Corvette C8.R also won the Rolex 24 At Daytona to start the 2021 season.

The Chevrolet Sports Car Classic is scheduled for 5:10 p.m. ET on Saturday, June 12. The race will air live on NBCSN and stream on TrackPass via NBC Sports Gold and the NBC Sports App. IMSA Radio will air full qualifying and race coverage at IMSA.com along with Sirius 219, XM 202 and SiriusXM Online 992.

NICK TANDY, NO. 4 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R – GTLM POLE-WINNER: “It wasn’t easy. Driving around any street circuit is pretty challenging. We had a tough practice this morning but we managed to make some changes for qualifying. This Corvette was on rails. We took it easy at the start and brought in the tires nicely. To grab the pole is a great thing for our team on our side of the garage. In a home race and in front of the whole General Motors and Chevrolet, it’s awesome to do.
“The thing to do in order to improve for the rest of the season is to treat this as a full race event. OK, there are only two cars in our class but we will execute as a normal race. There will be inter-team competition. We want to put on a show for the fans and show them what the Corvette C8.R can do on the racetrack.

“It’s great for the team and Corvette Racing to be here and show this car off to people who perhaps wouldn’t have been able to see it at a different track. There are a lot of people from Chevrolet and across the company who have been working on the street car and the race car. Hopefully there will be some of them who will get to see the car in action that wouldn’t have been able to otherwise. It’s a huge event for us, and we are thankful the schedule and IMSA allowed us to show off this great race car.
“We are treating this as a bonafide race event. We’ve been way for quite awhile since Sebring and we didn’t race Mid-Ohio. The schedule is going to get very busy coming up looking at the doubleheader at Watkins Glen and then a few additional races in a short time. Operationally, we wanted to get back in the swing of things. The briefing in qualifying was to make the car as fast as we possibly could and drive it as fast as we possibly could because we will go to another street circuit later this year. It was good fun driving on this street circuit for the first time this morning. Putting sticker tires and low fuel this afternoon made it that much more enjoyable.”

JORDAN TAYLOR, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R – QUALIFIED SECOND IN GTLM:“It’s been very helpful being on track today. It’s the first time we’ve run this Corvette on a street circuit, so before we go to Long Beach it’s good to get some testing done here. Things like the car over the bumps and small little details like launch controls, throttle positions and engine mapping. There is work going for reliability also. The more miles we can put on the C8.R the better ahead of Le Mans.”

Notes of Interest:

Welcome Aboard: This weekend at Texas Motor Speedway, SS GreenLight Racing and Joe Graf Jr. welcome G-Coin as the primary partner of the team’s No. 07 Chevrolet Camaro for Saturday afternoon’s Alsco Uniforms 250.

Texas marks the second of a multi-race deal where G-Coin, a product that brings gold into the digital age, making it accessible and giving it true utility will be the primary partner.

About G-Coin: Unlike cryptocurrencies, G-Coin is a digital title to a real asset: 1 G-Coin token equals 1 gram of Responsible GoldTM.

G-Coin combines the best qualities of traditional gold – stability, security, value, confidence, and social status – with the benefits of digital innovation, allowing users to easily save, send, and spend gold.

Tech-savvy investors keen to avoid cryptocurrency volatility, or physical storage burden and costs, are now able to purchase G-Coin digital gold tokens. G-Coin tokens can be purchased in increments of 0.01gram, giving individual investors better access to the gold market and the ability to use gold for day-to-day purchases.

G-Coin Wallets give users the freedom to send and receive value instantly, securely, and at no cost from the convenience of your mobile phone.

You can watch the official wrapping of the No. 07 G-Coin car here.

G-Coin Tip of the Week: There is no credit risk associated with owning physical gold.

The drivers behind gold supply and demand tend to be independent of, and sometimes opposed to, other traditional reserve assets (like currencies, securities, and bonds), making physical gold an effective diversifier for investment portfolios.

You Can Win $1,000 In Gold! To celebrate their new partnership with Joe Graf Jr., in the NASCAR Xfinity Series G-Coin will give away $1,000 in FREE gold to a lucky individual later this month.

To enter, download the G-Coin app on your smart phone and click here for official rules and to submit your entry.

Saving You Some Money: As summer kicks off, Joe Graf Jr.’s other marketing partner Z Grills wants to help the NASCAR community save money – but also enjoy the perfect barbecue.

On the heels of their third race partnership of the season last month at Dover (Del.) International Speedway, Z Grills Racing (ZGrillsRacing.com) is offering a 10 percent discount off your TOTAL purchase, using the code NASCAR at checkout.

Joe Graf Jr. Xfinity Series Texas Motor Speedway Stats: Joe Graf Jr. will make his third NASCAR Xfinity Series start at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday afternoon in the Also Uniforms 250.

In his two previous races, Graf Jr. finished 21st and 22nd respectively. In his most recent trip to the Forth Worth, Texas race track, Graf Jr. contended for a top-10 finish before becoming a victim in a multi-car accident on Lap 169 of 200.

Fun Fact: On Saturday’s Graf Jr.’s Miniature Goldendoodle Sebastian will celebrate his first Birthday. Sebastian often travels with Graf and girlfriend Taylor locally during the week to GoPro Motorplex in Mooresville and at Millbridge Speedway.

Joe Graf Jr. Xfinity Series Career Intermediate Nuggets: At tracks greater than 1.0-mile in size, Graf has competed in 24 NASCAR Xfinity Series races. He holds an average starting position of 24.3 and an average result of 23.5.

Put Me In Coach: In an effort to strengthen his physique, Joe Graf Jr. began working with new trainer and former NASCAR Cup Series Josh Wise during the offseason.

In addition to Wise, Graf has also been working with former NASCAR driver and open wheel driver Scott Speed on being more discipline behind the wheel of his No. 07 G-Coin Chevrolet Camaro.

Sneaker Mania: Along with the adrenaline of Motorsports competition, Joe Graf Jr. also has a vogue for hype sneakers. In his current collection, he owns and wears at least 80 limited edition sneakers – and his collection continues to grow every month.

The current estimated value of his collection tops $90,000.

From the Pit Box: Industry veteran Mike Tyska is Joe Graf Jr.’s crew chief.

He will crew chief his 13th NASCAR Xfinity Series race as crew chief on Saturday afternoon.

Tyska joined SS GreenLight Racing in January after honing his skills in all three of NASCAR’s national divisions and working for teams like Germain Racing, GMS Racing and Rick Ware Racing.

Tyska was a part of Todd Bodine’s 2006 championship season in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Germain Racing.

Hello From The Other Side: Graf Jr. has a teammate at SS GreenLight Racing. Cody Ware will drive the No. 17 Nurtec ODT Ford on Saturday afternoon.

Ware, a veteran racer is poised to make his 28th career NASCAR Xfinity Series start and second at Texas Motor Speedway. He returns to the 1.5-mile track for the first time since 2016 in Xfinity Series competition and looks to better a track-best of 36th.

Joe Graf Jr. Pre-Race Quotes:

On Texas Motor Speedway: “I’m focused on finishing what we started at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend. We had a lot of speed in our car last fall there and was contending for my first career top-10 but just found ourselves at the wrong place at the wrong time.

“Texas is a very challenging mile and a half-track, but I embrace the challenge and I look forward to getting back there and putting a positive finish together for not only G-Coin but everyone on this SS GreenLight Racing team.”

On G-Coin Partnership: “This is a unique partnership, and I am excited to officially welcome G-Coin to NASCAR and our SS GreenLight Racing team.

“G-Coin is building an amazing ecosystem and we believe the NASCAR community will put G-Coin on the global map. Plus, we will strike gold in our No. 07 Chevrolet Camaro with some strong finishes on the track.”

On Recent Performances: “The last several races have been tough; however, it is during times like this that all your mental discipline and training really come to the forefront.
“I can’t stress enough the importance of mental toughness in overcoming obstacles you don’t control. We have an amazing pit crew, but two weeks in a row they have suffered late-race problems that ruined our day.

“When I look at the speed and balance of our cars this year they are much better than last year. That isn’t from luck. That is from the hard work and grind it out mental toughness of this team.

“It’s such a shame that we have had such a rough stretch, but this is no different than life. We all experience highs and lows in life. Like anyone at a low point, we are going to remain mentally tough and keep moving forward. We embrace the suck. We know it can’t last.

“Going forward we are going to focus on what we can control and continue to execute at our highest level. There are a ton of races left in the season and hopefully, we have shaken the bad luck. I would be worried if our cars lacked competitiveness, but they don’t. We have a lot of racing left and we are due for some good luck.”
Race Information:

The Alsco Uniforms 250 (167 laps | 250.5 miles) is the 14th of 33 NASCAR Xfinity Series races on the 2021 schedule. The race will take the green flag shortly after 3:00 p.m. (4:00 p.m. ET) with live coverage on FOX Sports 1, the Performance Racing Network (Radio) and SiriusXM NASCAR Channel 90. Sean Creech Motorsport Evolving IMSA Program

Second in IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup ahead of Sahlen’s Six Hours

JUPITER, Fla. (11 June 2021) – Sean Creech Motorsport (SCM) today announced that driver Lance Willsey has made the difficult decision to step away from the 2021 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, citing personal and business concerns. The SCM team, led by team principal Sean Creech, moved to IMSA WeatherTech competition for the 2021 season, with Willsey sharing the driving duties with four-time Rolex 24 at Daytona winner João Barbosa in the LMP3 class.

Creech’s successful 30-year history reads like a who’s who of sports car racing, with stints competing in Group C, IMSA GTP, WSC, Grand-Am, SRO World Challenge and IMSA with teams including Dauer Racing, Jim Busby Racing, Mike Colucci Racing, Doran Racing and Extreme Speed Motorsports.

Building on the program from their Jupiter, Florida shop location, the team moved up from the IMSA Prototype Challenge this season, with Willsey and Barbosa combining on board the No. 33 SCM Exelixis Ligier JS P320.

Actively pursuing both sponsorship opportunities and fielding inquiries from interested Silver and Bronze-rated drivers, Creech hopes to secure the necessary budget to compete at the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen in two weeks. The team is in a strong competitive position, holding second in the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup, and is focused on building on that with strong outings to finish out the season.

“We are grateful to Lance for his hard work and dedication as we formed the team late last year,” said Creech. “We are disappointed that he cannot continue but hope that we can find a driver to compete alongside João for the rest of the 2021 season.

“Our biggest focus right now is to keep the IMSA team going,” said Creech. “We have a great deal of other work going on now in our shop, including an IPC program, as well as restoration and customer testing programs. But IMSA continues to be our primary focus going forward, both for the remainder of this season and looking ahead to 2022. As I said when we joined the WeatherTech series, we’re in this for the long haul so are looking forward to being able to continue moving this part of our program forward.”

The Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen takes the green flag Sunday, June 27 at 10:40 a.m. Eastern. The race will be broadcast live in the U.S. on NBCSN and NBC Sports Gold’s TRACKPASS, while international viewers can watch via IMSA.tv. IMSA Radio will also be available at IMSA.com.

What are the most important components to an ATV?

Photo by Thiago Schlemper from Pexels

Do you love the thrill of riding your ATV along the dirt road? ATVs are amazing, and like any other complex machine, they have thousands of components. However, you can now gain access to some parts. If you own or plan on buying an ATV, it is essential to understand the workings of the primary components. Knowing the parts can also help you to do minor repairs and fixes on your own instead of calling your mechanic. The ATV consist of several components, which vary depending on the model. Here are the essential components of an ATV.

  1. Suspension. Most ATVs come with independent suspension for each wheel. Such suspensions help when you negotiate rough terrain and challenging corners. The good thing is that you can easily remove these units if you want to repair or replace them. Suspension units are also adjustable. As such, you can set them to the correct settings depending on the terrain you will negotiate.
  1. Exhaust. The exhaust is usually hidden under the fairing to protect you from the heat that builds up during use. You can quickly locate the exhaust system by removing the panels and maybe the seat. ATVs allow you to change the exhaust system to squeeze a little more horsepower out of the engine. However, this is not necessary unless you compete at a professional level.
  1. Handlebars. Just like in motorcycles, ATVs have handlebars for steering. The handlebars have several controls attached to them to help you control your ATV. The throttle is a twist grip, similar to that in a two-wheeled motorcycle. You will also find the clutch, front brakes, lights, and ignition switches mounted on the handlebar.
  1. Protective Bars. There may be multiple protective bars that protect the ATV in case of a collision. ATVs also come with other protective bars that protect the rider. Manufacturers include a single bar across the front part of the ATV and others on the side to protect the machine and the rider. You will also find a chain guard, which is vital for safety and protection.
  1. Engine. There are two types of engines that power ATVs; two and four-stroke engines. Two-stroke engines are rare, but they offer more power to weight ratio. However, a four-stroke engine is easy to maintain, and it is more reliable than a two-stroke. As such, you will find more four-stroke engines in modern ATVs. Two-stroke engines use a mixture of oil and fuel to make them run. This combination has to be pre-mixed, which is more complex than filling your ATV with fuel as you do in a four-stroke. However, you can look for a two-stroke engine with an oil injector to do the job for you. Engines also come in either one or two-cylinder versions with power between 100 to 800cc. When looking for an ATV, bigger is not always better since riding demands several things, including physical movement and turning bodyweight into bends and corners. Powerful ATV models can be hard to control for inexperienced riders.
  1. Transmission. Modern ATVs come with continuously variable automatic transmission (CVAT), which link to the engine. Since it is automatic, you do not need to worry about changing gears. Automatic transmission is helpful if you are using your ATV for labor purposes. Your ATV will choose the best gear for the job depending on the weight, speed, and amount of effort required for the job. Some ATVs come with a manual transmission, where you use the clutch to shift gears.
  1. Wheels. Wheels are among the critical components of an ATV. ATV’s wheels give it an advantage over other vehicles because they grip the trails and allow you to ride to places other vehicles cannot. Wheels vary in size. Sometimes you may need big wheels while other times you will require smaller ones. Wheels are measured in diameter, width, and offset. However, the measuring can be daunting. A series of numbers correlate to tell you the wheels you need to buy for your ATV. The first measurement is the height or diameter of the wheel. Here, you measure from the center to the bead seat to the opposite edge of the bead seat. Getting the width involves measuring from the outside of the wheel to the inside bead.

AUSTIN DILLON QUOTES:
The All-Star race takes place at Texas Motor Speedway this year. You have to be excited about that…
“I can’t wait. We’re definitely looking forward to getting the chance to run for a million dollars. After winning at Texas Motor Speedway last year, I feel pretty good about having the All-Star race there. It gives us a legitimate shot at locking ourselves into the All-Star race for a long time if we win the race. It’s a crazy format. It’s going to be tough with all of the different stuff we have to do and go through, but man ONE MILLION DOLLARS! Somebody’s going to get it, why not us?”

Do you know the rules for the All-Star race? Are you going to try and learn the rules, or are you just going to tell your crew chief to tell you what to do?
“I haven’t even looked into the rules. I went through my sim session today, just trying to make the car drives as good as possible on the simulator. The one thing I did work on that was different from my normal simulator time is practicing pit road. I know there’s a $100,000 reward for the fastest pit stop, and that includes yellow line to yellow line. So, I have to do my part to help our pit crew have that opportunity, as well.”

“As far as the inversion and all the different starting positions, I think I’ll just leave that up to my crew chief, Justin Alexander, and the guys to help me out with that. I know we’re starting fifth and we’ll just take it from there. I think it’s a 100-lap race and a couple different cautions and resets throughout. So, I guess the most average finishes play into it and speed. We’ll just make it work.”

What did the simulator tell you on how the 510 horsepower will be different than 550?
“I didn’t feel a huge difference. I think everybody’s going to try and run wide-open. It’s going to be hot. It’s 90 degrees and you’re trying to run wide-open. Teams will be trying to trim their car out. I still think we’ll get them where they’re edgy for the speed purpose of things. Turns one and two are not the most ideal corners, so you’re going to be balancing – do you want to be able to easily run wide-open or have more speed trimmed-out and make turns one and two more difficult? Turns three and four are pretty self-explanatory, but one and two can get difficult. I still think there’s going to be handling involved. We’ll be able to adjust that too, I think, with the way the stops are built. The only one you can really lose on is the one at the end, I think.”

“We’ll be able to adjust a little bit. If you start aggressive and you don’t feel like that’s the right direction, you might be able to tighten your car up or do something to make the car drive a little better. Sometimes we don’t want to adjust the car because it slows the pit stops down. We’ll have a little more time to adjust and make the car drive a little different if you’re struggling with the something.”

Tyler Reddick and the No. 8 iCashautos / I Am Second Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE at Texas Motor Speedway… Tyler Reddick is looking to make his debut appearance in the NASCAR All-Star Race this weekend, having finished 10th in the All-Star Open last year at Bristol Motor Speedway. The driver also has six starts, one pole award and four top-five finishes at the 1.5-mile speedway in the NASCAR Truck Series.

TYLER REDDICK QUOTE:
What are your thoughts on Texas Motor Speedway hosting the All-Star race for the first time this weekend?
“I hope it’s a good race at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend, with them hosting the All-Star Race event for the first time. I’ve come close to winning at Texas Motor Speedway a lot in my career, even finishing second behind my teammate Austin Dillon last July, so I’m excited at having another shot there. Getting into the All-Star Race either by racing my way in or with the Fan vote is the first goal, and then from there I know my iCashautos / I Am Second team will do everything we can to win the million-dollar prize. It’s going to be tough though, especially with the horsepower change. It’s already hard to pass in these Cup cars, and this creates another challenge for us. Everyone has learned how to work the air with this package, so you’re going to have to be really smart on how to get up front. It’s a little bit of an unknown going into the weekend with the change in horsepower, but I know my team and I will make the most of it and try to put on a good show for the fans.”

Myatt Snider and the No. 2 TaxSlayer Chevrolet Camaro at Texas Motor Speedway… Myatt Snider has two career NASCAR Xfinity Series starts at Texas Motor Speedway, both of which came one season ago in 2020. The 26-year-old has also competed in four NASCAR Truck Series event at the 1.5-mile speedway.

About TaxSlayer… TaxSlayer makes online tax filing accessible for millions of Americans, with an easy-to-use platform and unlimited support at a fraction of the cost of the competition. TaxSlayer achieved a 4.5/5 TrustScore on consumer review site Trustpilot, with 87% of its customers rating the tax filing platform Great or Excellent. For more information, visit www.TaxSlayer.com.

MYATT SNIDER QUOTE:
Texas Motor Speedway is an intermediate track that you’ve raced on a handful of times. What do you expect from Saturday?
“The good thing about Texas Motor Speedway is that I have raced there twice in the Xfinity Series and four times in the Truck Series. Sometimes just having laps under your belt makes you more comfortable on one day shows when we don’t have practice and qualifying. This will be my first race at Texas with my Richard Childress Racing team, but we are looking to get this monkey off our backs and have a solid race from start to finish. The bad luck seems to be following us right now, but I know our TaxSlayer team can turn it around and compete up front on any given weekend. I’m looking forward to the Alsco Uniforms 250 Powered by Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen and hopefully we are the ones wearing cowboy hats at the end of the race.”
