FUNNY CAR’S BOB TASCA III FEELS RIGHT AT HOME AT NHRA NEW ENGLAND NATIONALS

EPPING, N.H. (May 29, 2025) – No matter how many times he goes to New England Dragway, the site of this weekend’s 12th annual NHRA New England Nationals, it will always be special for local native Bob Tasca III.

The Funny Car veteran holds many fond memories at the facility, from his first-ever pass down a dragstrip to going more than 330-mph in his 12,000-horsepower PPG Ford Mustang, something he plans to do multiple times this weekend at New England Dragway.

The facility will always be the home track for the veteran and Tasca has big plans to get his season on track this weekend. The team made positive steps in Chicago, but currently sitting ninth in points and with four races coming in the next five weeks, Tasca knows this is an opportune time to make a move and a victory in Epping would provide the best way to start this stretch.

“For me, it doesn’t get more special than racing here,” Tasca said. “To come back where it all started for me and to be in front of thousands and thousands of fans, and a lot of family and friends, it’s a special race for me and it always will be.

“This track has been here a long time and it pulls from a very wide area. It’s a special place and the fans always pack the house here. Every time we go here, it’s standing room only and that makes it exciting. It also could be the turning point in the season for us if we do well.”

The sold-out crowd at last year’s race in Epping saw John Force (Funny Car), Doug Kalitta (Top Fuel) and Troy Coughlin Jr. (Pro Stock) claim race wins. It was Force, Steve Torrence (Top Fuel) and Dallas Glenn (Pro Stock) who picked up Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge wins. Eliminations on FOX will be broadcast on Sunday, June 1 at 6 p.m. ET.

It is the seventh of 20 races during the 2025 season and Tasca knows the time is now to get on a roll. The summer stretch moves fast and getting on track quickly would set him up nicely for the Countdown to the Championship playoffs.

Tasca started well, qualifying second in Gainesville and first in Phoenix, but had a rough three-race stretch before a solid rebound in Chicago. He picked up a round win there and has his sights set on building on that in Epping. To do so, he’ll have to get past the likes of points leader and reigning world champion Austin Prock, Chicago winner Jack Beckman, Paul Lee, who won in Phoenix, Ron Capps, four-time Epping winner Matt Hagan, Chad Green and Daniel Wilkerson.

Tasca will also compete for the “No. 1 Clawifier Award presented by NAPA,” which will be on the line during Friday’s second session. A special chair made of lobster pots will await drivers on the top end, with the evening’s No. 1 qualifier sitting in the chair until they are replaced by a new No. 1 qualifier or claim the award. The driver will receive a large lobster, while the teams will be given lobster dinners.

“This is a big stretch ahead and we definitely made progress in Chicago,” Tasca said. “We just have to get that consistency. We went down three of the four sessions in qualifying (in Chicago) and bottom line, we did make some progress. We’ll make some more adjustments this weekend and this is the time of year where you have to get your stuff together. This is really where the top teams shine. We’re not where we want to be, but it’s a long season and I like where we are internally.”

Kalitta is after his first victory of the season, taking on the likes of points leader and racing legend Tony Stewart, teammate Shawn Langdon, two-time champ Brittany Force, four-time champ Torrence, Josh Hart and reigning world champ Antron Brown.

Troy Coughlin Jr. earned the event win last season, but the Pro Stock ranks have been dominated by KB Titan Racing’s Glenn and reigning world champ Greg Anderson in 2025. The pair have been in all six finals this season, with Glenn leading the points after wins in Gainesville, Las Vegas and Charlotte.

Fans will be invited to the Nitro Alley Stage, which is the main entertainment hub in the pits. The stage hosts Nitro School, meet and greets, autograph sessions and much more. Race fans in Epping can enjoy the special pre-race ceremonies that introduce each driver and includes the fan favorite SealMaster Track Walk. Fans are also invited to congratulate the event winners at the winner’s circle celebration on Sunday.

As always, fans get a pit pass to the most powerful and sensory-filled motorsports attraction on the planet. Fans can see their favorite teams in action and servicing their cars, get autographs and more. They can also visit NHRA’s Manufacturers Midway, where sponsors and vendors create an exciting atmosphere.

NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series qualifying features two rounds at 2:30 and 5:30 p.m. ET on Friday, May 30 and the final two rounds of qualifying on Saturday, May 31 at 12:30 and 3 p.m. Final eliminations are scheduled for 11 a.m. ET on Sunday, June 1. Television coverage includes qualifying action on FS1 at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, 7 p.m. on Saturday, and then eliminations action from 6-9 p.m. ET on Sunday on FOX.

Why NASCAR Fans Are Turning Heads for Practical Pickups

When you think of NASCAR fans, images of sleek, high-speed cars tearing around the track probably come to mind. But in recent years, there’s been an intriguing shift in what many racing enthusiasts are driving off the track. Practical pickups are gaining massive popularity, combining performance, style, and utility in ways that appeal to NASCAR’s passionate fan base. Let’s dive into why this trend is turning heads.

Versatility That Matches an Active Lifestyle

NASCAR fans often lead busy, active lives that demand more from their vehicles than just speed. Whether they’re hauling race gear, towing trailers, tailgating with friends, or venturing out on weekend trips, pickups offer unmatched versatility. Unlike a sports car that prioritizes speed over function, a pickup truck combines strong performance with practical cargo space.

The large bed and towing capacity allow fans to transport everything from coolers and camping equipment to motorcycles and jet skis, making pickups ideal for race weekends and everyday adventures alike. This balance of utility and capability fits perfectly with the lifestyle of many NASCAR enthusiasts who need a vehicle that can handle both work and play.

Performance Meets Practicality

One of the biggest surprises for those unfamiliar with the latest trucks is how much performance they deliver. Modern pickups aren’t just boxy workhorses. They are engineered with powerful engines, sophisticated suspensions, and agile handling that rival many sports cars.

Take the Ford Ranger MS-RT, for example. This model exemplifies how a pickup can deliver thrilling performance without compromising everyday usability. Built with motorsport-inspired design cues and tuned for dynamic driving, the Ranger MS-RT offers turbocharged power, sporty handling, and a commanding presence on the road. It’s a truck that can hold its own on the highway and impress on the racetrack, giving NASCAR fans the best of both worlds.

Aggressive Styling That Resonates with Racing Fans

For NASCAR fans, looks matter just as much as performance. The new generation of pickups sports aggressive styling that echoes the aerodynamic design and bold aesthetics found on race cars. From muscular body lines to distinctive grilles and signature alloy wheels, these trucks aren’t shy about making a statement.

You can see sharp exterior details, sporty accents, and racing-inspired finishes that attract attention wherever pickups go. It’s not just a practical vehicle; it’s a reflection of a fan’s passion for racing culture. This visual connection helps bridge the gap between their on-track heroes and their daily driver.

Advanced Technology Enhances the Driving Experience

In the same way NASCAR drivers rely on high-tech tools and telemetry to optimize their performance, fans increasingly expect their vehicles to be equipped with modern technology. Today’s pickups come loaded with advanced infotainment systems, smartphone integration, driver-assist features, and customizable driving modes.

These innovations enhance safety and convenience while adding a layer of sophistication to the driving experience. Features like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and premium audio systems make pickups enjoyable for both short trips and long drives — a key factor for fans who spend a lot of time on the road.

A Growing Truck Culture within NASCAR Communities

NASCAR events aren’t just about the race; they’re also about community and culture. As more fans bring their personalized pickups to events, a vibrant truck culture is emerging within the NASCAR fandom. Custom wraps, performance upgrades, lift kits, and decals celebrating favorite drivers or teams are increasingly common sights in the parking lots.

This trend strengthens the bond between fans, providing an outlet to express their racing passion beyond the stands. It’s a social phenomenon where the vehicle becomes part of the fan identity, and pickups are becoming the vehicle of choice for many.

Bridging Speed and Utility

NASCAR fans are embracing practical pickups because these vehicles perfectly blend the adrenaline of performance with the functionality needed for everyday life. Trucks demonstrate that it’s possible to enjoy the best of both worlds: thrilling driving dynamics paired with real-world versatility.

Far from abandoning their love of speed, fans are simply expanding their horizons to include pickups that suit their lifestyle and express their passion. As these practical yet powerful trucks continue to evolve, they are turning more heads at NASCAR events and beyond, proving that utility and excitement can coexist beautifully.

Why Hiring an Expert Pest Control Company Matters in San Antonio

San Antonio is a city full of culture, charm, and scenic beauty. However, it also presents a unique pest control challenge. Thanks to its warm, humid climate and extensive greenery, San Antonio homes often face year-round issues with pests such as mosquitoes, fire ants, termites, rodents, and cockroaches. For homeowners, managing pest issues is not only a matter of comfort but one of safety, home value, and long-term peace of mind.

Having personally experienced the consequences of hiring the wrong pest control provider, I can confidently say: hiring an expert pest control company is not optional—it’s essential. In this article, I’ll explore why, share a real-life experience that taught me the value of quality service, and highlight the characteristics that define the best companies offering pest control San Antonio that are available.

San Antonio’s Pest Profile

From residential gardens to backyard patios, the lush Texas Hill Country landscape provides an ideal breeding ground for pests. Common invaders include:

  • Mosquitoes: Dangerous carriers of West Nile and Zika virus.
  • Termites: Known for causing severe structural damage.
  • Fire Ants: Aggressive and painful when disturbed.
  • Rodents: Destructive to property and carriers of disease.
  • Cockroaches and Spiders: Both unwanted and unsanitary houseguests.

These pests aren’t just an annoyance. They can trigger allergic reactions, spread disease, damage wiring and woodwork, and significantly lower your property’s value.

My Personal Wake-Up Call

Three years ago, I was a DIY pest control warrior. When I noticed that mosquito bites were getting worse in our backyard and occasional roaches were creeping in through the baseboards, I turned to store-bought traps, essential oils, and a handheld fogger. None of it worked.

I finally hired a budget pest control service, thinking they’d do a quick spray and solve the issue. The technician arrived late, failed to inspect the house, and sprayed a harsh chemical in a few select areas. Within days, the pests returned. What’s worse, our family dog began showing signs of skin irritation. It was a turning point.

I then did some serious research and hired a reputable company offering pest control San Antonio. From their very first visit, the difference was palpable. They conducted a thorough inspection, identified water drainage issues, sealed gaps around windows, and applied plant-based treatments that were safe for our pets and children. Within a month, our yard was mosquito-free, and our home was pest-free—and it stayed that way.

What Sets Expert Pest Control Apart

  1. Comprehensive Inspections: Expert providers don’t just treat; they investigate. They assess the home inside and out, identifying the source of infestations.
  2. Tailored Treatment Plans: A quality company offers customized solutions based on the specific types of pests and the architecture of your home.
  3. Eco-Friendly Methods: The best providers use safe, sustainable products that work without harming people, pets, or the environment.
  4. Knowledgeable Technicians: Certified professionals understand pest biology and behaviors, allowing them to deliver smarter solutions.
  5. Ongoing Support: Good pest control isn’t a one-time event. Expert companies provide follow-ups, maintenance plans, and customer education.
  6. Peace of Mind: Knowing your home is protected allows you to enjoy your outdoor space, entertain guests, and sleep easier at night.

The True Cost of Cutting Corners

Many homeowners initially shy away from expert services due to perceived costs. But DIY solutions and discount companies often end up costing more in the long run.

Repeated infestations, health issues, and costly home repairs can quickly add up, making pest control mount gambier an essential service. In contrast, working with a trusted pest control provider in San Antonio eliminates guesswork and provides lasting results.

What to Look For in a Pest Control Company

  • Licensing and Certification: Ensure that technicians are state-licensed and have received proper training.
  • Reputation: Look for high ratings, verified reviews, and customer testimonials.
  • Transparency: Clear pricing, explained treatment plans, and responsive communication.
  • Guarantees: Reputable companies stand by their work and offer service guarantees.

Final Thoughts

Don’t wait until pests take over your home. Proactive, expert pest control isn’t just a luxury—it’s a wise investment in your home’s longevity, your family’s health, and your everyday comfort.

If you live in the San Antonio area and are dealing with persistent pests, don’t gamble with DIY hacks or low-cost providers. Trust a proven solution with a reputation for excellence in pest control San Antonio. You’ll be grateful for the peace of mind, the healthier environment, and the expert support that truly makes a difference.

Take it from someone who learned the hard way: the right company can completely change the way you live in and enjoy your home.

Injured in an Accident? 7 Steps You Need to Take Immediately

Most people are unsure of what to do or who to contact after an accident. Knowing what steps to take can reduce stress and help you secure the medical care and compensation you deserve. Here are seven important steps you need to take immediately if you are injured in an accident.

  1. Get Medical Attention

With over 40,901 motor vehicle deaths reported in 2022, any many more injuries, seeking medical attention after an accident is critical—even if you feel fine. Some injuries, like internal trauma or concussions, may not show symptoms until hours or days later. Immediate medical evaluation can uncover hidden injuries and ensure prompt treatment, preventing complications.

Go to the emergency room or call 911 for immediate care if needed. For less severe injuries, visit your doctor or an urgent care clinic. Getting prompt medical attention not only improves recovery but also provides documentation of your injuries, which can be essential for insurance claims or legal proceedings.

  1. Report the Crash

Reporting the collision to the proper authorities is important for obtaining police records and initiating any insurance claims. For car accidents, alert the police so they can file a report. Provide details like time, location, weather and road conditions, and names of others involved. If it happened at work, notify your employer immediately and fill out an incident report. Reporting immediately ensures accurate details are recorded while memories are still fresh.

  1. Document Everything

Carefully document as much evidence from the scene as you can. Take photos of the damage, skid marks, location, street signs, and other relevant details. Obtain contact details and insurance information from all parties involved. Write down a thorough account of what happened while it’s still fresh. Collect medical reports, bills, and documentation. Keep a record of all expenses related to the accident. Detailed documentation strengthens your case.

  1. Telephone Your Insurance Provider

Report the accident to your insurance company as soon as possible or as soon as you can. Supply them with information, photos, and official reports. This starts a claims process to determine fault and compensation. Understand what your policy covers for injuries, lost wages, property damage, and other expenses.

  1. Consult a Car Accident Attorney

Speaking with a qualified personal injury attorney is highly recommended. An experienced lawyer can counsel you on how to get the maximum compensation. They can communicate with insurance companies on your behalf and represent you in court if needed. Attorneys also know how to value injury claims correctly and can negotiate fair settlements. Don’t wait to get legal guidance. Alton C. Todd, a trusted car accident lawyer in Galveston, TX, suggests contacting a law firm immediately after an injury, as it can make a significant difference in the outcome of your case.

  1. Keep Detailed Records

Of the 13,472 people who lost their lives in passenger car accidents in 2020, thorough documentation played a crucial role in securing compensation for victims and their families. Keeping an organized record of your injuries, medical visits, lost wages, and expenses can strengthen your claim and ensure you pursue the justice you deserve.

  1. Focus on Healing

After an accident, prioritizing recovery and following medical guidance is essential. Some injuries, like whiplash, can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months to heal, making rest and consistent treatment crucial.

Follow your doctor’s recommendations, attend follow-up appointments, and give your body the time it needs to recover. Whether through physical therapy, medication, or lifestyle adjustments, focusing on healing will help you regain strength and prevent long-term complications.

Acting quickly after an accident is essential. By following these steps, you safeguard your rights, receive necessary medical care, and strengthen your claim for fair compensation.

7 Things to Never Do After a Car Accident

With so much going on after a car accident, it’s easy to make mistakes without realizing it. The US has around 5.93 million car accidents yearly, so knowing what to do is vital. Specific actions taken right after an accident could negatively impact your ability to recoup damages, place liability accurately, and protect your future interests. Steve Jensen, a Salt Lake City car accident lawyer, suggests avoiding making these seven key mistakes following an automotive crash, and you’ll be in a much better position regarding insurance claims and legal processes down the road.

Leave the Scene of the Car Accident

Leaving the scene of an accident is illegal in most places, yet 14.5% of accidents in 2022 involved a driver who didn’t stick around. Even if you think the accident was minor, you should stop your car and wait for the police to arrive. Fleeing the scene can lead to criminal charges and a suspended license. Stay at the scene and exchange information with the other driver. The only reason to drive away is if your vehicle is unsafe to remain in or if you require immediate medical attention.

Admit Fault or Guilt

Even if you think the accident was your fault, which might be the case if you’re one of the 54% of people who tested positive for drugs or alcohol after a serious accident, do not admit fault or guilt to the other driver. Anything you say or do can be used against you later. Exchange insurance and contact information. Let the police and insurance agents investigate the accident details. Admitting any fault could make you liable for damages and weaken your insurance claim.

Neglect to Call the Police

Regardless of how minor it may seem, always call the police after an accident. A police report is crucial for insurance claims and establishing fault later on. Be sure to ask the other driver who’s involved in the accident to wait for the police to arrive. If not, still file a report yourself afterwards. Get the police badge numbers and their contact information from all responding officers.

Forget to Document the Car Accident Scene

Take some photos of the accident scene and surroundings from multiple angles before moving the cars. Get the contact details from any witnesses who saw or arrived at the accident. Their accounts could help prove your innocence later.

Delay Medical Treatment

Always have a medical check if you have been in an accident. Some injuries, like whiplash (3 million injuries per year) or internal bleeding, may not be evident at first. Seek evaluation at the emergency room and follow up with your primary care physician. Request copies of all medical records to share with your car accident lawyer.

Discuss the Car Crash on Social Media

Avoid posting about the accident on social media, such as Facebook or X, as what you say could be used against you if the other driver pursues legal action. Even sympathizing or speculating about what happened could weaken your case. Stick to only the facts and save the details for your insurance claim. Also, ask passengers not to share accident information publicly.

Forget to Contact Your Car Accident Lawyer

Call your car accident lawyer immediately after an accident, even if it looks minor. They can guide you through the following steps regarding police reports, claims processes, and dealing with insurance companies.

Act cautiously after a car accident, and the outcome may not be as bad as you think.

  • Combined, Hendrick Motorsports drivers have led 1,706 laps so far this season, most of all organizations by 989 circuits and the team’s most since 1996. That number accounts for 46% of laps run through 13 races this year. A Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet has led the most laps in five of the last six NASCAR Cup Series races.
  • The organization enters Sunday’s race at Nashville Superspeedway leading all teams in poles (five), top fives (19), top 10s (31), laps led and stage wins (14), the most stage wins ever through a season’s first 13 events.
  • Hendrick Motorsports is the only team to have at least one car finish in the top five in every race this year with no other organization placing a car in the top 10 in each event. Dating back to last season, Hendrick Motorsports has had a top-five finisher in the last 21 races, the company’s third-longest such streak.
  • With Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott each having a win at Nashville, Hendrick Motorsports has won half of the Cup Series races at the 1.33-mile tri-oval thus far. In addition to having the most wins, the team is also the all-time leader in top fives (six) and top 10s (eight).
  • Hendrick Motorsports has won seven of 22 night races in the Next Gen era, the most of any team.

QUOTABLE /

Kyle Larson, driver of the No. 5 Chevrolet, on Nashville Superspeedway: “We’ve been good at Nashville, but we haven’t been great, which you need to be to win there. I know I won in 2021, but since then I think we have some more to work on. Hopefully we can qualify well and build off of that.”

Chase Elliott, driver of the No. 9 Chevrolet, on what makes Nashville Superspeedway a popular venue: “The town has just gotten so popular. I think that there’s just a lot of energy there right now. Nashville is trendy and has been trendy for a period of time. A lot of people are moving to Nashville. The music scene has become as big as it’s ever been, I would argue, in the country music world. So, you have the opportunity to have some big names out at the track. It seems like we all enjoy it. So, I think all those things are good.”

William Byron, driver of the No. 24 Chevrolet, on Nashville Superspeedway: “Nashville has been kind of OK for us. I feel like the first year, first couple of years we went there, we were super fast. But then last year we weren’t so good, so just got to keep working on that. It seems like it has some mile-and-a-half characteristics, like the guys who are fast at mile-and-a-halves seem to be pretty strong at Nashville, even though it’s a shorter track. So we’ll see. I think we could run well there. Definitely, the expectation is obviously to go there and try to run top five and try to compete for a win. So, yeah, I think it’s just a matter of looking at what we did last year and kind of where we need to be better.”

Alex Bowman, driver of the No. 48 Chevrolet, on Nashville Superspeedway: “Nashville is a really tough place. The concrete surface makes it feel totally different from most of the tracks we go to. It’s slick, it changes a lot during the race, and it doesn’t give you much forgiveness. But it’s a cool atmosphere with the fans and the city close by. We haven’t had the results we want there yet, but we’re bringing a fast Ally Chevy and hoping to turn that around this weekend.”

Berry, Freightliner Team Have High Hopes For Nashville

Josh Berry and the No. 21 Freightliner team are headed to Nashville Superspeedway, the 1.33-mile concrete oval that is about a 30-mile drive from Berry’s hometown of Hendersonville, Tenn., for Sunday evening’s Cracker Barrel 400.

Berry, who qualified on the outside pole last year in his only Cup start at Nashville, said he’s looking forward to returning to the track and continuing the run he and the Freightliner team have had on intermediate-length ovals this season. That includes a win on the 1.5-mile Las Vegas Motor Speedway in March.

“I feel good about where we’ve been on the intermediates,” Berry said. “We’ve shown a lot of speed and been really competitive. The goal is to keep building on that, especially in qualifying and continuing to learn with the playoffs in mind. Nashville and Michigan are two tracks I’m looking forward to. I felt like we ran well there last year, so I see them as great opportunities to put together some solid results and keep improving.”

Practice for the Cracker Barrel 400 is set for Saturday at 3:35 p.m. Central Time (4:35 Eastern) to be followed by qualifying at 4:45 (5:45 Eastern). Sunday’s 399-mile race is expected to get the green flag just after 6 p.m. (7 p.m. Eastern), with Stage breaks planned for Laps 90 and 185. Amazon Prime will carry the TV coverage all weekend.
