Newman Begins Chili Bowl Action Wednesday

Newman to Race in Prelims Wednesday Night Ahead of Saturday’s Mains

CONCORD, N.C., (January 13, 2021) – While most of the NASCAR industry continues prep for the Daytona 500 and 2021 season coming up in just a month, Ryan Newman is set for his second-straight appearance at the Chili Bowl Nationals.

Midget car racing, after all, is where Newman – the now 20-year NASCAR veteran – got his start as a young racer. This week’s action from Tulsa, Oklahoma is known as the “Super Bowl of Midget Racing,” with more than 300 competitors on the entry list. Newman is one of a handful of drivers from the NASCAR ranks to make the trek West, in hopes of claiming the coveted trophy Saturday night.

“There’s a little bit of everything here, and that’s one of the things that makes it so special,” Newman said of the Chili Bowl. “One of the things that make it so special is the guys from the different ranks that show up here, and it’s amazing to know you’re one guy competing against all those guys from NASCAR, IndyCar, USAC and other ranks.”

The 1999 USAC Silver Crown Champion will drive the 00C as one of five entries for Clauson-Marshall Racing, a two-time National USAC Champion team. The 43-year-old also drove for the Indiana-based organization at the 2020 Chili Bowl.

“We had a good run a year ago and are excited to be back,” Newman said. “We have a great team and great sponsor this year with Driven2SaveLives. My car number will be 00C, which is in honor of a young man who lost his life and donated his organs. Driven2Save and the Indiana donor network are great partners of Clauson-Marshall Racing, and proud to run his name on the car. And the fact he saved five lives with his organ donation gives me chills, because here’s someone that raced ¼ midgets like I did and in the end he became a hero.”

Newman’s night of heat races and qualifying action is set for Wednesday. The top two finishers in the qualifying night’s feature event progress into Saturday’s main show, while the remainder of the entries from the respective qualifying night will attempt to race their way in through a series of additional races.

“It’s just fun to be here, and so many different people from so many different types of racing at an indoor venue on dirt, it’s awesome,” Newman added.

Among the list of entries along with Newman on Wednesday include fellow NASCAR drivers Chase Elliott and Brett Moffitt, and former Chili Bowl Champion Rico Abreu. Stay tuned to Roush Fenway on social media (@RoushFenway, @Roush6Team) for coverage throughout the week.

The Chili Bowl will be shown online on www.floracing.com through the qualifying events. Saturday’s final features will switch to the MAVTV Motorsports Network. For a complete listing of channels and to request MAVTV, log onto www.mavtv.com.

Parker Retzlaff embraces Daytona ARCA test opportunity

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.: Teenage standout Parker Retzlaff will embark on the next opportunity in his young Motorsports career by taking to the high banks of Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway during this weekend’s preseason ARCA Menards Series testing.

While Retzlaff, 17, is not eligible to compete in next month’s General Tire 200 at the “World Center of Racing”, the opportunity to tackle the 2.5-mile superspeedway for Fast Track Racing as part of the series’ Road to Daytona program, the teenager is prepared to embrace the experience with a goal of competing in the annual series’ opener in the future.

“I cannot tell you how excited I am for this weekend,” said Retzlaff.

“For any race car driver, the chance to turn laps at Daytona is not only very humbling but a dream come true. I cannot thank ARCA, Andy Hillenburg and Fast Track Racing enough for this unbelievable opportunity.”

Sharing the No. 10 Fast Track Racing Chevrolet with four other drivers will certainly limit his track time at Daytona this weekend, but that doesn’t bother the young driver.

“The opportunity to be coached by a respected owner and former ARCA champion driver Andy Hillenburg – and the chance to converse with the other drivers is all apart of the experience this weekend,” added Retzlaff.

“Sure, the track time is important, but it’s striving to be a better driver and utilizing the resources around me to help. Hopefully, the test will be successful and I can use it as a stepping stone to come back in the future and prepare for the actual race.”

The two-day ARCA Menards Series preseason test officially kicks off the 2021 season and Retzlaff is excited about what’s ahead and intends on announcing his plans within the next few weeks.

“I believe that 2021 is shaping up to be a good year,” sounded Retzlaff. “I learned a lot last year, despite the pandemic. I will continue to grow as a driver, but I think the goals set forth this season are obtainable.

“A lot of people are investing time, effort and financially for me and I have to be sure to go out there and make sure I not only do my job but do it well and continue to take the steps up the racing ladder.”

Kaz Grala to Attempt Daytona 500 with Kaulig Racing

Grala, Kaulig Racing Agree on Multi-Race NASCAR Cup Series Deal in 2021

LEXINGTON, N.C. (January 13th, 2021) – Kaz Grala will attempt the 63rd annual Daytona 500 with Kaulig Racing to kick off the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) season.

The team recently announced it would attempt a limited NCS schedule in 2021, which will include the Daytona 500, as well as select road course and superspeedway events. Grala, the youngest winner ever at Daytona International Speedway (NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, 2017), is set to run several of those events for Kaulig Racing.

“This is a huge opportunity for me both personally and professionally,” said Grala. “I’ve grown up dreaming of reaching the NASCAR Cup Series, so it will be really special to get more chances to race against my heroes, with Kaulig Racing being the perfect team to take that next step with. I can’t thank Matt Kaulig and Chris Rice enough for trusting me in their Cup program, as well as RCR for helping shape my career the past couple seasons. I have already worked with many of the Kaulig team members before, so hopefully that will help us hit the ground running next month. Bring on the DAYTONA 500!”

Grala, who made one NCS attempt in 2020 at the Daytona International Speedway Road Course, where he finished 7th, recorded the best finish during a NCS debut since 1998. Grala is only one of two drivers to record a top-10 finish in all three of NASCAR’s National Series in 2020.

Out of 32 NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) starts from 2018-2020, Grala has recorded nine top-10 and four top-five finishes. He scored a top-five finish in his NXS debut at Daytona International Speedway, and has finished in the top five in two out of his three superspeedway events in the series.

“We’re super excited to have Kaz join our team in 2021, and we can’t wait to get started with him at Daytona,” said Chris Rice, President of Kaulig Racing. “He has had some great success in different series and layouts at Daytona, so we think he will be a great addition to our team beginning with the Daytona 500.”

The 63rd annual Daytona 500 will take place on Sunday, February 14, where Grala will pilot the No. 16 Camaro ZL1 1LE for Kaulig Racing’s second-ever NCS race. Information on additional events and partners will come at a later date.

Wright Motorsports to Compete in Michelin Pilot Challenge in 2021

Hardwick and Heylen to race a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport

BATAVIA, Ohio. (January 13, 2021) – With the Roar Before the 24 less than two weeks away, Wright Motorsports has announced an expansion of their Porsche customer racing team to include a full-season entry in the 2021 Michelin Pilot Challenge. Ryan Hardwick and Jan Heylen will race the No. 16 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport , with returning sponsors 1st Phorm, Mountain Motorsports, and Una Vida Tequila.

The idea to run in both the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and Michelin Pilot Challenge came from Hardwick after watching some of his fellow GTD competitors gain more track time in the support series each weekend. As race weekends were condensed in the 2020 season, seat time became even more valuable for Hardwick, the Am in the Pro/Am lineup with Patrick Long. Other GTD drivers such as Jan Heylen, Corey Lewis, Robby Foley, and Trent Hindman also participated in the Pilot Challenge’s GS class, earning valuable insight an experience to improve with every lap. Hardwick proposed the idea to team owner John Wright, and the pair met with Porsche Motorsport North America.

“We met with Porsche and came to the decision that it would be beneficial to everyone to have the manufacturer represented by a great customer racing team like Wright Motorsports,” said Wright. “Jan will be able to continue his strong driving record in the series, and Ryan will be able to gain more experience to continue to improve his progression in GTD. We know they’ll be a strong pairing and we’ll take full advantage of the extra time on track.”

The Michelin Pilot Challenge currently acts as the support series to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Challenge, sharing ten race weekends with the headlining series. The 2021 schedule is comprised of 10 races, with eight of them having a runtime of two hours, and the remaining two running for four. The first race of the year will be the BMW Endurance Challenge at Daytona, held on Friday, January 29 at 1:35PM Eastern. The race will air in its entirety on imsa.tv and NBC Sports Gold TRACKPASS. The series is comprised of two classes: the Grand Sport (GS) and Touring Car (TCR). The No. 16 Porsche will compete in the GS class, making its on track debut for the first practice session on Friday, January 22. For full event information, visit imsa.com.
Driver Quotes

Ryan Hardwick | No. 16 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport
I have yet to race in the Michelin Pilot Challenge, and I’m really looking forward to racing in a new series. I’m also very excited to be teaming up with Jan Heylen who has already proven to be a front runner in that series. I appreciate the support from John Wright and the team for putting so much work into such a short off season to not only prepare our GTD car for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season, but also a new Porsche Cayman for a full season in the Michelin Pilot Challenge. This opportunity will really be a blessing for me in gaining more track time. Jan and I can be competitive for podiums and wins, but I think this will also help us greatly in GTD as well.

Jan Heylen | No. 16 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport
I’m very excited to start the new season with Ryan and Wright Motorsports in the Michelin Pilot Challenge. It’s great to see Wright Motorsports making their debut in GT4 as well as Ryan making the step to gain more experience and gain track time on the GTD weekends.
There’s nothing like GT4 racing, with lots of action and close racing. It’s everything we love. With the continued support from Porsche Motorsport North America and Wright Motorsport, I know we’ll be at Daytona with a strong car.

We have an awesome line up for Daytona. Spencer and Mario are longtime friends and super-fast drivers. Adding them to our lineup is incredible. I can’t wait to get this NSX going and see how we measure up to the competition.

Spencer Pumpelly
I am excited to once again join Magnus with Archangel for the North American Endurance Cup in 2021 in their new Acura NSX. This will be my 20th Rolex 24 as a driver and I’m glad to be contesting it with Andy and John, both good friends who I have known for years. I’m also looking forward to working with Mario Farnbacher at Daytona. He brings a wealth of experience in the NSX and will be a big help in getting us tuned in on some of the subtleties of the new car. The Rolex 24 always involves a little luck, but we are going in well prepared with one of the best teams in the business supporting us. I’m looking forward to the race with confidence in what the guys are going to be putting on track.

Mario Farnbacher
This is a new chapter for me after being with Meyer Shank Racing for the last three years. This is definitely a new venture and cool challenge for me, and I’m really looking forward to driving with Magnus with Archangel. I know some of the guys personally, and they are a great group. I’m really looking forward to working with everyone. They’ve won at this circuit before and are familiar with how everything goes. We’ve got a good package to win a 24-hour race. We have a good car in the Acura NSX GT3 Evo. I’m looking forward to continuing my relationship with Honda, Acura, and Honda HPD. I can’t wait to get everything started.

Miguel Paludo Returns to NASCAR Xfinity Series with JRM

Porsche Carrera Cup Brasil Champion to Pilot No. 8 BRANDT Entry in Three Road Races

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Jan. 13, 2021) – JR Motorsports and long-time partner BRANDT Professional Agriculture jointly announced today that Miguel Paludo, a Brazilian native and six-time Porsche Carrera Cup Champion, will drive the No. 8 BRANDT Chevrolet in three NASCAR Xfinity Series road course events in 2021. Paludo’s schedule begins with the second race of the season at the Daytona International Speedway Road Course (Feb. 20) and continues at Circuit of the Americas (May 22) and Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course (June 5).

Paludo and BRANDT have been a winning combination since 2013, when Paludo first drove a BRANDT-branded vehicle in a NASCAR Camping World Truck series event at Chicagoland Speedway. From there, the pair has gone on to earn four championships, 16 wins and 53 podiums in Porsche Carrera Cup Brasil competition. Today’s announcement also expands BRANDT’s presence in the NXS as Paludo will race alongside teammate and full-time NXS driver Justin Allgaier, who will drive the No. 7 BRANDT Chevrolet. In five previous seasons with JRM, Allgaier and BRANDT have combined for 11 victories and have advanced to the Championship 4 four times.

“This is an amazing opportunity and it’s hard to put in words how grateful I am,” said Paludo. “Returning to compete in NASCAR has always been one of my top career goals. It has been remarkable to represent BRANDT Professional Agriculture in Brazil since 2015 competing and racing for championships in the Porsche Carrera Cup. And to now get the opportunity to race in the NASCAR Xfinity Series along with my teammate Justin Allgaier for BRANDT at JR Motorsports for three races is a dream that is coming true. I can’t wait to work with everyone on the No. 8 team and get ready for our first race on the road course at Daytona in a couple of weeks.”

BRANDT is one of the fastest-growing, family-owned companies in the United States and a leader in the global agriculture industry. Specializing in innovative products and services to help growers get the maximum return on their crops, BRANDT currently supplies customers in 48 states and more than 60 countries. The organization has also had a long, rich history in NASCAR, coming into the sport with Allgaier in 2011 prior to joining forces with JRM in 2016.

“We are thrilled to bring Miguel back to NASCAR racing as he has been instrumental in helping us grow our business in Brazil,” said Rick Brandt, president and CEO of BRANDT. “Overall, this initiative will enable us to entertain select Brazilian customers at some of NASCAR’s most iconic tracks where they’ll see one of their own take on the best in the world. This is going to be exciting.”

One of the main objectives for Paludo and the No. 8 BRANDT Chevrolet is to support the company’s burgeoning business in Brazil. In its sixth year of operation, BRANDT do Brasil has seen tremendous growth, serving retailers and growers across Brazil. With its headquarters in Londrina and manufacturing in Olimpia, BRANDT do Brasil offers a wide range of BRANDT’s proprietary technologies for crops as diverse as coffee, citrus, vegetables, sugar cane, soy and corn.

The initiative begins on the track, where Paludo has had plenty of NASCAR experience to call upon with 73 starts in the NCWTS, including three full-time seasons from 2011-2013, and a pair of NXS starts in 2012. All told, Paludo notched eight top fives and 25 top 10s in NCWTS competition, and twice finished inside the top 10 in the championship point standings.

Paludo will make his JRM debut in the No. 8 BRANDT Professional Agriculture Chevrolet on Saturday, Feb. 20 at 5 p.m. ET on FS1.

The Most Thrilling Races Ever

When you search for sports that make the most money and are loved worldwide, you will find racing among the top choices. Out of all the races NASCAR has presented over the years, some simply stand out.

People who watched these particular races will live to tell their grandchildren about the spectacular events they witnessed.

The top thrilling races

Among the most outstanding season was in 2011 where the driver who won the overall title had not won any race until the twenty-seventh race. Different drivers kept on exchanging the podium in the previous twenty-six races, and therefore, there was no clear favorite driver.

The winner of the series only won five of the last ten races to be crowned champion in that year.

The fact that he had not won any race until the 27th race made this season extra special. The margin between the overall winner and the one who finished second was one of the smallest in the history of racing.

Consequently, anyone who followed the series, especially in the final stages, will not forget the spectacular events any time soon.

Another famous race that will stay in many memories for a long time is the 2003 series, where there was a margin of 0.002 seconds in a race.

The drivers who were on the lead collided just a few meters from the finish line and finished in a huff of smoke with both cars stuck together. One of the drivers had actually lost his steering and was dragged to the finish line by the other driver.

Were it not for the cameras which showed the car that crossed the finish line first, it would have been almost impossible to tell who won the race. Such exciting happenings are the ones that bring more fans to the stadium while at the same time increasing the viewership of the races.

Betting on cars and drivers

Besides enjoying and having fun watching the races, people are also able to make money through betting. The high level of competition makes betting on particular cars more exciting.

Even people who watch the races because of the fun without being fans of any particular driver are able to bet effectively.

People who are interested in race betting are able to do so without even leaving their homes. Such people need only to have devices connected to the internet. Through such devices, it becomes easier to join various online casinos and place bets conveniently.

Among the many online casinos such as https://casinonotongamstop.com/, some have qualities that qualify them to be the best casinos . These casinos provide first-class services to people who would like to have fun and make money through betting.

They also provide platforms that can be used by almost anyone provided the people meet the minimum requirements. The casinos are also straightforward where you are sure of getting all your winnings without delays.

Therefore, besides enjoying the thrill of racing, you can also make money and have fun by placing bets on the various drivers and their cars.

The Most Loved Drivers

NASCAR fans vote for their favorite drivers annually. The driver who has won this award most times is Dale Earnhardt Jr, who recently won the award for the 12th consecutive time.

Fans love him mostly because of his prowess in the track, where he is popular for giving his fans a show.

To make it as the most loved driver, they must, without a doubt, be outstanding to the point that their fans are always left with something to marvel about.

Earnhardt jr. is also quite popular with his fans following his open interaction, where he doesn’t seem to hold back.

He answers most of the questions raised by his fans, further nurturing the relationship with his fans.

How the Voting Is Done

Besides Dale Earnhardt Jr, other drivers have won this coveted award. A few of them include; Richard Petty, Bill Elliot, Bobby Allison, Jeff Gordon, and not forgetting the late Dale Earnhardt, who left his son a strong foothold in the sport.

The fans usually look at the drivers’ driving styles before voting for the one they prefer most. The voting is independent, and every fan has a chance to vote in a well-scrutinized process.

The majority of the fans feel this is a great way to air their voices on how they would like NASCAR to conduct racing.

Interestingly, most drivers try to imitate the winning driver hoping that they will get a chance to win the award in the following season. There are, however, the few ones with unique driving styles who’ve remained outstanding, regardless.

Voting has further been made easier through digitization of the process. It’s now possible for fans following the races on TV to vote via the internet.

Not so long ago, the only fans allowed to vote were those who had the privilege of attending the races. However, fans can now vote for the best drivers from their homes’ comfort using their electronic gadgets.

Making Money by Placing Bets on Drivers

Voting for the most loved driver has also made racing more popular among people placing bets. In turn, this has made racing one of the most popular sports in casinos and gaming platforms.

You get an opportunity to enjoy the race and also make money by placing your bet on your favourite driver.

When placing a bet on your favorite driver, you need to ensure you are using the right casino. There are many online casinos, with some of the most popular being https://freespins.monster/casinos-not-on-gamstop

The primary reason these casinos are so popular is that they have interactive platforms open to almost everyone who wants to place a bet. They also assist any person who might not be as conversant with online betting.

There are helpful support desks where you can ask questions in case you are experiencing any challenges.

Betting and voting for your favorite driver is seemingly bound to be more fun. Not forgetting the excitement that follows when your favorite driver makes it to the top of the list!

All-Time Greatest Drivers

How can a driver attain all-time greatness? We’ve, without a doubt, heard of the NASCAR Hall of fame, but what does it take to make it on that list?

It could be a championship, an unbroken record on the ramp, or merely a natural mastery of the sport’s intricacies. An inborn talent, an art.

We have dotted down a list of most significant drivers of all time:

Terry Labonte

Terry Labonte is one of the top record holders of the 20th century. Although his wins were not as outstanding as other drivers of his time, he maintained a steady lead and won two titles to his name.

Sponsored by Kellogg’s Corn Flakes, Labonte won 22 races during his 38 years in the field. He recorded an impressive 361 top-10s in 890s starts long after his best performing years were over in 1999.

The champion retired in 2014 after 38 years of adventure and success, which began in 1978.

Cale Yarbrough

With 83 races won and three championship titles over 31 years, Cale Yarbrough entered the sports racing scene in 1957 to race and win, not play around.

The former Holly Farms-sponsored champion gave Bobby Allison ‘the worst fight ‘ between 1976 and 1979 when he cliched three consecutive titles to gain entry into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

Darrell Waltrip

Nicknamed ‘Jaws,’ Darrel Waltrip was one of the most rigid drivers between 1972 and 2000. He is perhaps the only racing driver who could give Dale Earnhardt a run for his money.

That was before Jeff Gordon appeared in the scene, and even then, Waltrip proved himself an accomplished champion. For 29 years, Darell Waltrip impressed the world with his outstanding performance winning 84 races and three championship titles. The Budweiser-sponsored champion hung his helmet in 2000.

Jeff Gordon

If Jeff Gordon had not shown up, Dale Earnhardt might have left the field with 10 titles. If Jimmy Johnson had not shown up, Jeff Gordon might have bagged five titles.

A 25-year stint which began in 1992, the former DuPont sponsored champion completed his adventure -filed career with four titles, having won 93 races and handed the reins over to teammate Johnson.

Dale Earnhardt

Fondly known as The Intimidator, ace racing driver Dale Earnhardt began his career in 1975 and went on to win seven titles and 76 out of 676 races before his untimely death on February 18, 2001.

The Dayton 500 event in Florida claimed the veteran champion and team founder’s life, throwing NASCAR in the limelight regarding its safety techniques.

“The man in black” continues to win in even death. His racing team, Dale Earnhardt Inc., is of the leading NASCAR racing teams with several sponsors, 106 racing victories, and six championship titles.

Dale Jarret

Sponsored by Quality Care and Ford Credit, Dale Jarret’s prowess as an ace racing driver was not apparent until several years later when he began to throw his competitors off the ramp to bag the first champions’ title.

He won 26 races in 6 years between 1996 and 2002, including the Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. By the time he retired in 2008, Jarret had a total of 32 races won and a title to his name.
